The unkillswitched him for $$$ purpose and will most likely keep him unkillswitched for $$$ purposes.

I wanna remind you that they fixed those ping hits few years ago…
DBD for survivior felt amazing then.
but they brought it back to the previous state because killer mains shared their "feedback".
It's funny cause despite acknowledging how bad hit validation is for survivors these days the same group of people will still say every pallet should be weak because it's '50/50.'
-
Despite all the fluff BHVR is and always has been Image/Profits > Action company.
They implement the 'go-next prevention' so that it looks like its an issue they care about, walk it back several steps almost immediately, then leave the topic in a permanent state of limbo.
But hey, at least we can say they acknowledge it as a problem! -
Damn this forum became killer-sided so fast wow, this post would've gotten a lot of upvotes a year ago.
I guess all the survivor players got forum banned.

It's an annoying part of the game meta. But the current game balance incentivises killers to do it.
If survivors are competent at chase, majority of killers will spend too much time chasing a full health survivor for a down. It's much more expedient to get a free hit when someone goes to unhook, can't expect killers to throw the game by playing nice.
If they strengthen the anti camp further to eliminate proxy camping then they'd need to rebalance chase speeds which would be a very difficult balancing act. The current system has stopped killers full on facecamping which was much more annoying.
I feel like proxy camping is more annoying personally, part of it is the survivor's fault since dying in a good spot is skill expression in itself.
I'd honestly be okay with just making gen spawns more sporadic, proxy camping feels really awful on maps with static gens. -
@Slurp_Ramen said:
you missed when anti camp was first introduced.
It was originally going to be larger, and is basically broke all indoor/two story maps for killer and made pressuring hooks impossible.
So because of that and feedback they shrunk the zone down to what it is currently.
Well the actual solution requires map/power re-balancing which isn't happening anytime soon so at this point I'd take a band-aid fix.
-
It's only competitive when it comes to nerfing survivors.
-
Even footage is dubious because a lot of content creation in this game is cherrypicked.
That's not even to say I disagree that Kaneki is balanced. I escape the vast majority of games against him.
He's just brainless and boring to play against, and the rare cases you play against one that's actually good, its miserable.
Would much rather go against Nurse.

Why should I have to watch a mori?

I don't know why people keep going back to skins. Don't get me wrong, a skin would be awesome but as they have mentioned many times that this could be an issue with licensed characters. Could you imagine the uproar if not everyone at with a P100 could get the reward. I know I wouldn't be happy as two our three of my mains are licensed characters.
As opposed to badges that aren't even in the same style for licensed characters?
Really, it just comes down to money, there aren't enough profits involved in something the majority of players most likely will never reach, so simple badges are the lowest effort to RoI solution, which BHVR considers a win.
Legacy/Void/Blighted default tints are something that could've been done, animated banners is another, licensed characters are just an easy scapegoat to detract from the bigger picture.
Off Topic, but it would also be nice if we could apply the bloody filter to skins as well in the future.

Yes, it's in the patch notes. It doesn't make sense that a survivor should be able to vault back because it makes the ability near-useless.
Okay well then can they nerf him properly instead of wrist slaps?
If he was 110% it would be a lot better.
-
I think it's a perfectly balanced perk like Mad Grit.
-
They know its an issue but they don't care about fixing it because the game is doing 'fine.'
All that would be required is showing killer ping in the pre game lobby so players have a choice to dodge or not.

Yeah there's no point trying to have a conversation with bias people. Especially when it comes to the made up concept created purely to justify being mad at killers for doing their objective lol.
As opposed to the mental gymnastics that comss from you people daily about how killer is in a weak state? Lol

The first new chapter/mid-chapter I might actually buy.
There looks like a lot of effort was put into this. Tentatively excited!

Greed? Buddy, I dont think you understand that companies want and have to make money. And obviously, where do they make more money? When they create a new Sable-Skin or a Skin for the three Haddie-Mains out there?
@Topic:
I also dont understand it. Characters who dont look good are not popular and they will not get many skins, since they are not popular. Creating a Sable-Skin and a Haddie-Skin takes probably the same amount of time, workforce and money, just one of them is more profitable.
I mean, there was even a weird Haddie-Movement some time ago which resulted in her getting 3 or 4 Outfits in a row. And guess what - nobody plays Haddie anyway, since if the base is bad (and Haddie is really not pretty), no skin will really save that.
Funnily enough the same people who complain about Sable, Feng or MIkaela getting skins dont say a word about Dwight having way more skins than all of the unpopular characters…
And honestly, I hope the people will play the old woman Survivor they voted on in the Grimoire. Because if the community voted on her and then nobody plays her, the Devs will think twice if they want to make Survivors again which are not attractive.
This forum is not a good medium for such discussion, but I'll briefly touch on the subject.
Where do you draw the line between profit-oriented and greed? How much is enough money for a company?
There is nothing stopping them from only making cosmetics for the top five most played survivors, this would have the highest RoI and be the most consistent way to generate profits.
Would it be good for the art of the game though? Is a lack of variety a good thing if it means more profits?
They clearly still release cosmetics for 'flop' characters, sometimes even multiple skins in a row. Ask yourself why, in my opinion, its because they can afford to, and with that, I think they should do it more.
This doesn't have to be a 'this or that' situation, I don't care if Sable gets a skin every update as long as the characters I prefer to play get a consistent cosmetic schedule as well.
-
I mean by your logic they might as well remove all male survivors from the game which would be incredibly boring.
BHVR makes more than enough profits, acting like they can't afford a few financial flops for the sake of variety is just making an excuse for their greed.

I completely agree with you. DbD is the only game which has a team based side where communication is just nonexistent for the sake of the other side, all due to fearmongering.
People will tell you with a straight face that dbd can't add contextual pings or short "I'm getting the save" rocket league-esque chat messages for better coordination between soloq players because "think of all the poor trapper and pig players who only play 3 hours a month who would get 0k's from that change 😫😥" Surely the killer players with 1000+ win streaks are laughing knowing nothing will change because of comments like that.
I mean anytime a thread asking for a positive survivor change gets made the same posters flock to it to shut it down, you can usually just skip over posts from certain names.
That being said, the ping system in DBD mobile was amazing, they really need to port it over to live, as well as being able to see loadouts like OP is suggesting.
-
They don't care to fix it, there's no profit in it.
I'm not shocked my teammates elect to dc/go next when the killer is 80+ and I don't blame them at all.
-
Yeah after playing against two of them back to back I just dropped the mode again.
But its not like Oni is very engaging in 1v4 either.

I might be wrong here, but can't you make a comparison to Nurse here?
She's even slower than your regular killer. Imagine her being 4.4 or even 4.6
Nurse's that can't hit a blink for their life would still be able to brute force a pallet drop and hit your right after / use power to catch up.
That would definitely be an issue, not to mention how awful it would be to play against a semi decent nurse - > a good nurse.
What people are complaining about, at least from my experience, are the blights that play normal m1, force a pallet, break it and then catch you before you make it to any resource. The fact that he has a pallet break, s-tier mobility and a lethal chase power all combined in one ability ON TOP of being able to chase you like a normal Trapper feels a bit ridiculous.
I think he should follow the rule nurse follows, which means he should be weaker outside of using his power. This means weaker than killers that have a way weaker / more limited power, that often have to chase as a normal m1.
Well that's the thing.
People believe you should never go down to an M1 killers.
-
He's balanced in the sense that you have to be really good at him in order to get value, but once you hit that point he's pretty oppressive.
You're most likely not seeing him due to him being behind a paywall + you can invest a similar time in Blight/Nurse/Ghoul and find more success.
I don't think he needs buffs and still needs a slight nerf, but we really just need to nerf the 'Big 3' already.
-
A rare miss from you but no one is perfect.

They are lucky I didn't get Ghoul as an option…
Did anyone?
All the killers I got were ones I never see, feels like they intentionally avoided Ghoul imo.

Very glad this was a priority over literally anything else.

Agree. There is absolutely no way i will ever believe most of this playerbase would use a ranked queue. Being a part of this community as long as i have, there is nothing sweats hate more than facing other sweats. The same people who will use every tactic to ensure a 4k every game, come running here telling the devs to make it easier for them to compete once they hit high MMR. They don't want a challenge.
The solution to this is adding ranked exclusive rewards/cosmetics.
Yes that would open new problems such as casuals feeling locked out of content but in theory it should lead to people wanting to try to be better at the game which BHVR needs to start enforcing imo because its ridiculous how many survivors are comfortable being detrimental to their team
I also think making ranked a 'seasonal' window like Identity V does is a nice idea as well as it wouldn't lead to a permanent schism in playerbases.

Mind you the people saying the Lobby is necessary for killers would most definitely shut down the idea of being able to see the Killer's ping in the Lobby because of 'Lobby shopping,' so I definitely think it should go.Did anyone actually claim that? Hell, I said it should be limited down to just seeing items, and said nothing about ping. I would agree with your proposal as long as it only showed actual high ping when present (150+) since showing all pings would just lead to survivor lobby shopping if they saw anything over 60, which would be cherry picking lobbies as you also don't want.
To elaborate,
I believe that the killer should have the upper-hand in game to keep things interesting and keep the killer role desirable.
This sentiment does not extend to a pre-game lobby.
So my belief on the matter is that both sides should be able to cherry-pick in the lobby or neither side should.
Currently, it is very one sided. I shouldn't have to private my profile to avoid several killers dodging me in a row just because I have over 3k hours. There are posts in this thread and earlier ones on the same subject that say it is to avoid cheaters.
I run into high ping killers far more often than cheaters, where is my ability to avoid that?
Personally I dont think the killer should be able to see items either, but I acknowledge that its a subjective point as the killer wasting a perk slot is far more impactful than a survivor wasting a perk slot.

i've been watching onepumpwillie play him. he's on a 240+ winstreak currently and uses monitor and abuse with coulrophobia and a nurse's calling. his strategy is to slug and his perks help him get easy hits on survivors trying to revive their downed teammates.
i like how no one acknowledged you but its true.
The notion that every single killer that's not meta is in need of sweeping buffs across the board is how we ended up with new Myers.
The killer is fine, he just has actual punishment for missing and requires awareness/skill, something I guess people don't want in modern killer design anymore.
-

You shouldn't be able to cherry pick lobbies.
-
What's confusing?
-
He's literally just a modern Nurse.
Player uses power on CD and tries to guess? Loopable and somewhat enjoyable.
Player just walks you down until you're in sight and M2's on top of you? Chase is over in 10s.
-
No killers should receive massive buffs before solo queue.

Guys. Stop only reading the title…
The stagger feels bugged out. It's like it's 0.05 seconds longer than it's meant to be. Ever since BL was bugged and you could still hear falling grunts. It feels OFF.
I mean every reply to your thread thus far are the same killer-mains that post in every thread so /shrug.
It is dumb that you still get stunned for so long even with the perk, your suggestion wouldn't even make the perk meta since it still has a length exhaustion timer.
