The easiest way to prevent the just running away is make the build of the power way faster, make her crouch basically instant like ghostfaces or really fast, then you really don't need to do much about the speed or duration of it.
Sure you can still find the hatch, but that would require your teammaes to leave and most likely you will be injured since tunneled of of hook, I don't think there is a realistic chance for the survivor to get hatch, on paper yes but in practise no. I'm not saying it is a huge problem in practise, I was just arguing that it is wrong to say that every killer can do it, since this interaction is a more succesfull way to get the kill despite all the efforts of the survivors, unlike tunneling with other killers.
@Archol123 I see what you mean, I understand that getting a trap off if the killer specifically follows you to the ends of the earth and never goes after someone else because you have the active head trap that your options are limited. Luckily for the most part pigs only do it, if they think you're a cheater or they see no other way to get a kill, kind of like a last resort type thing just right before the end game, etc.
As for the crouching part you suggested it could work in theory, but then you're suggesting basically ignoring the dash mechanic/function that was designed by the developers to use in Chase and forgetting that it exists. If I really wanted to I could just use Amand's letter and see if they just leave the loop with aura. then use combat straps to stand up pretty quickly. The dash just needs a little extra distance, whether that extra distance is made up in duration or in speed I don't know. But it's called an ambush for a reason it should come out of nowhere. If I sneak up on a survivor which already takes up too much time hence why it should be around 4.0 m/s crouching speed. I actually would use it and feel like I'm not wasting time. Even if I get super close in a spot where I can't be seen the noise gives them just enough time to run and I still don't land it. I think we should encourage to have a better ambush dash so it's actually a unique power that requires survivors to pay attention. Rather than my basic M1 killer mind games that practically any and all killers can do.
At its current state, the dash is usually used at very weak pallet structures and dead ends where the survivor has no choice but to stay. Buffing the distance of the dash would make it a more viable option at some other structures while actually punishing boring hold W counterplay. Then maybe the pig would be more interesting than just an M1 killer lady who puts a little device on your head. I find playing pig already pretty fun because it's a challenge but I think the joy of landing ambushes and or avoiding them for both sides would feel gratifying.
-
@Archol123 I did say it might be a bit too much but the point is that survivors shouldn't be rewarded for just leaving the loop when I go down to crouch and do an ambush. Nor should the killer get the down for free, but the point is to make the ambush strong enough to where people will actually start using it and Survivor will have to make a stronger counterplay than just hold W.
You can still find a hatch to escape with an active trap on. Bhvr can't really do anything to stop people from just crouching following survivors the whole match to get the guaranteed 1k without completely destroying the strength of the trap. If it's that a big of a problem then why doesn't anyone bring it up until I'm asking for slight changes to make the pig's stealth actually capable?
If it's that big of an issue to you make a forum post and suggest how to fix the issue without completely destroying headtraps.

95% of the pig "nerfs" were done solely to kill degen strats like afk pig or were random standardization changes. Also absolutely no increasing trap search time unless you nerf gear box and tampered timer or add a mechanic that reduces trap timer after being hooked.
Traps are okay in the spot they're now. The downside is that they're rng based on an average of 3 searches across each and all survivors. Would I love traps that actually feel like a threat? Yes, I would but I don't wanna mess with a wheel that's already working. So now I really only think the ambush and crouching speed need improvements. To make stealthing more worth your time as the killer and to make her an interesting killer rather than just playing against an M1 killer. Because in the current state on average I will only use the ambush and get a hit once a match. I also really only use crouching stealth for mainly the beginning and short periods like 10 seconds after hooking.
-
@rvzrvzrvz said:
Have you considered that they nerfed Pig because it was needed, a tunneling Pig still has no counter you can't remove your trap and you can't leave the match, it's not optimal way to play Pig but it's still possible to guarantee a kill
@rvzrvzrvz Any killer can tunnel a survivor, the pig just happens to have two methods to do it, which is to follow an active trap survivor while being crouched or 3 hook them. Any and all killers can do this it isn't unique to Pig specifically. You said it yourself that it's not an optimal way but so is 3 hooking if you're not proficient in it. If you have an issue with following an active trap survivor or regular tunneling then make a forum post about it. Bhvr has already implemented this like having to be out of the chase and being alive for trap timers to continue going. Forcing head pops is mostly a waste of time so there's no point in nerfing traps even further than what they already are.

I mean, I literally commented on all parts, so if anything you skipped over the parts of my comment that weren't about the head traps.
@Seraphor Sorry, I didn't read yours I read the rest and I should have taken the time to @ those specific people. I would agree to a crouch speed and ambush speed increase.
The distance for an ambush with 3 seconds is 20.7 divided by 2 to get 10.35 m/s to get the same amount of distance in two seconds.
So I would love 4.0 m/s Crouch speed and Ambush at 10.35 m/s (this might be too much, who knows can't really test what that speed would feel like)
As for traps, it depends on your situation and the decisions of survivors that determine a trap's strength. But I guess that's what I get for having a slowdown that's somewhat based on rng.
Also, this wasn't part of my post but I forgot to mention that Pig still has the issue of looking down after hitting a survivor when Bhvr tried to add it then removed it but then proceeded to forget the killer who had it in the first place.
-
I guess we skipped over my extra second of a duration dash and crouching speed and only read the head trap part and also the part at the end that said I only need the dash and crouching part, the head traps are just extra but alright.
-
I cannot express how much an extra second of duration will the ambush way more useful. It will make sneaking up on survivors way more worth it. Hopefully the extra second would also make it so you can hit survivors who just leave the loop right away instead of play a 50/50.
-
It was late at night when I typed this so if it says a claw trap does anything it first needs to be active to achieve any sort of benefit. Please remember that the numbers can be tweaked and this is just an idea that can be changed.
-
You should get one survivor and killer ritual each day that way you don't just play one role and instead, you play both roles. I agree that the incentive needs to be increased.

I agree with the haste thing, but for the endurance? just remove it lol. It's 2 perks in 1, it's a free perk for a future DLC.
I know this is cliché but I'll also state that I only play survivor right now, and I use Made For This a lot. I'm aware that it's broken and I think it should be changed. However, I don't feel bad for using it in it's broken state cus I know the next time a killer perk like old Eruption comes about killers will abuse it too so abuse OP perks while they exist cus nobody else is gonna hold back xD
Yeah, I agree the endurance status effect is really strong for this perk. It's like a soul guard but you're already standing up and you get to body block for a teammate as an injured survivor.

Self-Preservation already does this, and it's a rarely used perk. Why make a perk that does the same thing but better? What reason would anyone have to use Self-Preservation at that point?

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I guess the title should be called buffing self preservation. I just think more of these perks that give small niche effects need some buffs.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Low profile is so bad that I had to remake a perk and slap the ending of low profile on it. So the title should actually be called buffing Self Preservation. This just goes to show how there are so many perks that are just plain simply near useless. But then we can have a perk like made for this which can have an indefinite 3% speed + endurance.

The Sadako changes watered down her power and the counter. You can build condemnation easily and lose it easily. Yes, she can build mass condemnation early on just by teleporting but that's where you as the survivor need to grab a tape as soon as possible. Tapes prevent you from gaining condemnation from tv teleports. So if you can hold a tape for more than 30 seconds you will receive less once the Sadako hits you and destroys your tape.
- Grab a tape as soon as you can
- listen for sound queues to hear her coming to not get hit
- Put your tape in any tv when it feels like it's the correct time
Unless they have Iri tape but that's where you should fake going to one tv bait a tp then move to your actual tv and hopefully beat her there.
Getting rid of a tape can also be really strong in solo queue, let's say you picked up a tape at the start but then one of your teammates gets hooked near a tv that's on. You can insert your tape on the closed tv so you can unhook your teammate safely. Just make sure to have a tape on you at all times and if you get around 4-5 stacks of condemnation consider putting a tape away to lower your condemn stacks.
If you have any other questions about her just give me an @ and I will do my best to explain Sadako's power.
-
I don't think this is a 3 gen issue. This is a killer design issue, If a killer has to 3 gen in the game it means the power is lacking something because guess what any and all killers can 3 gen. It just so happens that the way the Skull Merchant was designed that it makes players play in a very boring playstyle.
-
If you're gonna leave criticism at least make it constructive and sensible because I can barely read this post.

Interesting suggestions though it might be difficult to implement.
I think at least as a simple hotfix they should just make it so the drones can't expose when a generator is within their radius. This would help a bit at least in the short term and I feel it wouldn't be that hard to code given they already have mechanics for hooks.
@Skitten56 Once again this is just an idea, if parts of it are hard to implement things to this can change. The goal was just to remove the intensity of the zoning.
You could remove the exposed status effect as a short fix, but I don't think it would change anything about her current playstyle because even the skull merchant that went against Eternal just ignored the fact that they could have gotten an instant down and just kept kicking gens. But yeah I think that would weaken her a little but doesn't fix the long matches and boring gameplay.

I would suggest nerfing how strong tapes are in exchange for nerfing global condemnation.
Changes to global condemnation:
- Each teleport now only inflicts 1/2 stack of condemnation
- Teleport cooldown is now 12.5 (This would mean it would take almost 3 minutes of constant teleporting to reach max condemnation without grabbing a tape)
Changes to tapes:
- For every 30 seconds of holding a tape, you gain 1 condemn stack. (since the tp cooldown is 12.5 seconds 37.5 seconds of constant teleporting is only 1 and 1/2 stacks compared to 1 stack every 30 seconds.)
- When hitting or hooking a survivor holding a tape they only gain 1 1/2 stack of condemnation.
This way the tapes feel like they're still somewhat safe whilst also making it feel like you have no choice but to eventually remove the tape for holding it for extreme periods of time.
A second option for tapes:
- For each survivor that is holding a tape, tape holders will gain 1/4 stacks
This would mean if 1 survivor is holding a tape and Sadako teleports while they are holding a tape that one survivor will gain 1/4 stack of condemnation
If 2 survivors are carrying tapes while Sadako teleports they both will gain 1/2 a stack of condemnation.
If 3 survivors are carrying tapes while Sadako teleports then 3 of them will l gain 3/4 stack of condemnation.
If all 4 survivors are carrying tapes while Sadako teleports they will all gain 1 stack of condemnation
When a survivor is holding a tape and gets hit or hooked they will gain 2 Stack of condemnation
This option would make tapes still feel dangerous, but it will reward players and teams for only letting 1 or 2 survivors grab a tape and slowly condemn that way. But will punish the whole team if they decide to grab tapes.
-
why should we reward players who are oblivious to changes? The issue isn't that she's too strong and uncounter. The issue is skill expression for both survivors and killers. In solo queue, it's harder for survivors to express their ability to counter condemnation. But at the same time if all survivors grab tapes survivors limit the killer's skill expression of spreading condemnation. Adding this add-on to the base kit isn't fixing this issue. Tapes need to be nerfed in one way and at the same time her ability to spread condemnation against survivors who don't hold tapes needs to be slightly lowered. This way tapes are actually somewhat dangerous.
Possible options
- passive condemnation for holding tapes for long periods
- if you get hooked or hit while holding a tape you gain more stacks
- anything that doesn't limit skill expressions for either side
-

being immune from gaining condemned while holding a cursed tape is to overpowered.
ive been playing sadoka and at the start of every match, at least 1 player holds onto a tape and its really hard to get condemned on them now that condemn is global and i cant focus entirely on them.
so when i finally do get them, the amount id condemned they could of got heavily outweighs how much they got for holding the tape.
if anything all condemned gained while holding a tape should be DOUBLED not immune to it..
@k3ijus I think there's a skill expression issue with survivors being able to express skill solo queue with tapes. whilst the tapes also limit the skill expression of the killer. If we make any changes to the tapes whether it be adding a slow passive condemnation on tape holders or increasing condemn stacks on hit something else in the base kit would need to be changed in order to balance these strengths and flaws. If tapes become a weaker counter then so should the base teleport condemnation or something likewise.

They gain two stacks of condemned when you hit them once while holding a tape, you don’t even have to down them, that’s almost 3 teleports which is around 30 seconds, if you can’t get a hit in 30 seconds then that’s your problem
@Leon_Scott_Kennedy You have to remember we are talking about an m1 killer who has no chase power. If you think not being stunned in a mode where you can't swing is enough for a chase power then please change your definition of what a chase power is. She may have map pressure with TVs and trying to find survivors but you can't expect a killer who gets slowed between manifestation and demanifestation to be able to find the tape holder that quickly. It's like asking an oni to beat the survivor to a pallet before they pre-drop so he doesn't get the first hit.

@Blueberry said:
I enjoy that it’s such a unique match and how the round plays out compared to every other killer. Both sides are playing differently than normal. I like the polarity of her power and how there’s room for both sides to take hold of it.
Out of like 20 games today I had maybe 2 teams that actually played against it properly and respected the condemn. Most survivors I think just don’t know what they’re doing, try to ignore tapes and just do gens, get mori’d, then come screaming OP after having done zero adapting.
The teams that actually utilized her counter play made a quite close game. Well balanced.
My only complaint is how reliant she is on her Iri Tape. That should be base kit. Being able to drop into any tv is just too easy and negates any of the slow down it would’ve otherwise provided.
When it comes to solo queue it's one of two things
- It's too difficult to use the counter / the counter isn't good enough
- Survivors are not adapting to the change.
If the counter is not good enough to stop the condemnation then explain why she feels like she has no power against four tape holders / organized team.
The issue is not how strong or weak Sadako is, the issue is skill expression. In solo queue, it is more difficult to express your skill. But the tapes also limit the killer's skill expression if survivors use them correctly. Something needs to be changed so that survivors in solo queue can express their skill, but the killer also has the power to express their skill against the best of the best.
Even if survivors some how adapt to the changes, the tapes are still strong enough in the current state to limit the skill expression of the killer and I don't think tapes should be able to do that.
I am open to any changes that change as long as it keeps survivor and killer skill expression.

Let's be real, being slugged is always better than being hooked no matter how you think.
With the way Sadako works, slugging isn't efficient for condemnation. they don't gain condemnation from teleports and an extra hook state is better than bleed out. If you think slugging with this Sadako is better than the previous Sadako I would beg to differ. Your primary focus shouldn't be purely focused on one survivor always being slugged for condemnation. your focus should be on the whole team and stopping tape holders.

refusing to hook and slugging someone is still an issue with her tho and when I play in a 4 man it’s not an issue but why should things only be easy for swfs solo always gets left to Rot
I understand your frustrations I have a post that brings up the polar ends of pub stomping solo queue but also leaves her with no power when all survivors use the counter correctly. I want to have all survivors to be able to express their skill in countering Sadako. But the counter shouldn't be able to limit the killer's skill expression either. I'm open to suggestions as long as it doesn't limit the killer and survivor skill expressions.

it is not busted. it has high skill-floor to counter and large skill-ceiling for sadako to well IF their opponent plays well. If your opponent plays bad, you do not need do well as killer to win.
She has a low-skill floor now because of global condemnation. A bad Sadako will just constantly tp and ignore tape holders and just wait until someone who doesn't grab a tape gets maxed condemnation. whilst a somewhat better Sadako would hunt down the tape holder. Global condemnation has watered down her power to be more simple to spread a lot more condemnation whilst also making it pretty easy to remove condemnation. Survivors have the tools to counter her easily but being that it's a solo queue it's more difficult to communicate with your teammates. She has two very polar ends of pub stomping and or being absolutely destroyed by tape-holding teams. The question is how do we make Sadako not absolutely destroy Solo Queue matches? But also make it so that tapes don't completely take away her power. Each killer should have a range of skills to beat any and all players yet her counter limits her ability to show her skill.
-
@ChuckingWong Picking up tapes isn't even a question it's objectively the smartest play to do at the start of the match. I understand not taking a hit while holding a tape can be difficult against even the most moderate players. But it's better to hold a tape for over 40 seconds than get teleported on 4 times. Not to mention how easy it is to remove condemnation with ANY tv. Yes, you can argue about how Iri tape and comb is really strong. But then that's a bhvr decision issue because if the add-ons are strong then bhvr should have made something different. The worse part is bhvr had the opportunity to make better add-ons. they claimed that they made an add-on pass that brought the strongest add-ons and the weakest to the middle. If anything Iri tape is still strong and there are so many add-ons that they could have added. Not to mention they nerfed Reiko's watch an add-on that takes skill in order to get full value from it.
I wanna thank you for your suggestion because I asked for some suggestions at the very end of my post. Changing more of the add-ons would be a great idea because you can barely call the add-on pass they made an add-on pass. They claimed they would bring the strongest and weakest add-ons to the middle yet Iri tape is still strong and they only changed around 5 add-ons leaving a lot of the add-ons still unused because they're not as practical. Almost all of Wesker's add-ons are practical in one way or another and bhvr should strive to make more add-ons like Weskers. Plus these changes give so much more opportunity for unique add-ons that change the way condemn could work. Maybe slowing teleports will be better for the Solo queue sure. But it still doesn't address the fact that when all tapes are being held, and removed at the right times when needed, her power is overwhelmingly weak.
-
@ChuckingWong I'm trying to convey the fact that tapes can limit her power to do things completely and make her feel like she can't do anything. If you watch the Hens vs Onepumpwillie you would see how powerful the counter is.
Also, I personally do not slug as Sadako because slugged survivors cannot gain condemnation. So if you are slugging as Sadako you're not playing her correctly because keeping survivors alive and teleporting gives them condemn stacks. You want them to reach max condemnation, not bleed out. hook states are simply better pressure threatening one survivor with hook states and the rest with condemn is a great play. Overall she's really strong in solo Queue that's part of why I made this post. But I also made this post to point out the fact that when survivors eventually learn the counter she will be super weak and cannot use the main point of her power which is condemnation. Obviously, it's easier said than done but when a team does it perfectly the killer has little to no power. I want solo Queue to thrive but I also believe the killer should always be able to thrive through skill expression. But the way her power is set up at the moment the skill expression is based on the decisions of survivors and grabbing tapes.
-
Sadako is the only killer in the game where Survivors can practically take away nearly all your power / main part of your power.
-
Slugging isn't stronger on this Sadako, when you hit survivors who are holding tapes the tapes are destroyed. Slug survivors do not gain condemnation. If you are slugging with Sadako and trying to fully condemn survivors you are playing her wrong. You want to be constantly adding condemnation to survivors. If you think old Sadako was better I would like to disagree, spreading condemnation is way easier while removing it is also way easier. Either Adapt to the changes or go play a different killer if you are not satisfied. There's a bigger issue with her pub stomping games whilst also being completely countered by tapes. Her power is completely in the hands of survivors that's where I think something needs to be changed.
-
I don't think you understand how Sadako works, It is objectively better to keep survivors on their feet to spread more condemnation. If you are slugging to build condemnation you are playing her wrong. I think there's a bigger issue here that is minor and huge. Against solo queue, she is a steamroller, and against the best of the best, you have no fighting chance. This either means something needs to be changed to the killer's power or you simply need to learn how the killer works and understand how to counter her. Old Sadako would Slug way more than the current patch. She is overall more healthy just with polar extremes of winning and losing.
-
Why do lockers counter things like condemns and Mori's something needs to be changed about that.
-
Make it so that if a survivor is hooked and holding a tape they gain 2 stacks or more and the tape is destroyed.
-
Why is this is the suggestion and feedback suggestions go to general or off topic
-
@Hex_iButt If someone does this in a match and they know where to hide you ain't gonna find them because they make noise because of the perk. By no means is Plot twist a weak perk it's like a self-choice unbreakable it can change scenarios of matches. Plus not all killers gonna want lethal, not everyone gonna use multiple aura perks to get the full value of it and simply killers don't go the speed or the surprise aspect to use lethal to get a good start. corrupt is good because it's an actual slowdown. Those two perks remove the aspect in what is the reason you use the perk.
-
If anyone should be phasing through windows or pallets it should be Sadako while she is demanifested that would actually give Sadako a good chase power.
-
She will have no power against survivors who know to grab four tapes which means little to no skill expression. welcome to the new worst killer who can have the power practically stripped away from them.
-
You could argue that you could spread condemnation by slugging tape holder over and over now that taking the health states of tape holders give them a stack. This then makes me want to ask you, what was the point of all these changes if I can do the same thing with the current Onyro with wring drawing? This only limits her to slugging which I thought that wasn't fun for survivors so I don't know pick your poison.
