  • Its really dumb. I think it might be illegal in some manner, to not be allowed to play the product that you own because of an additional agreement. I knew a guy in law who used to work on a lot of these EULAs and other agreements and a lot of them he said they put in things that aren't actually legally pursuable, i.e. they cannot do them, but they put them in there because they want you to think they can and they don't get in trouble unless you take them to court.

As the owner of your game your should be able to play it without having to sign some agreement that is only forced on you AFTER your purchase. Such agreements need to be made BEFORE the sale of the product.

Let's talk about this Hillbilly "Country Livin" challenge shall we? With how hard it is to even hit a chainsaw at high ranks unless you are a god with Billy or manage to luck out with a team of potatoes this challenge is completely ridiculous. Add on the new resource management that Billy has with the fantastic overheat feature this challenge is a recipe for aggravation.

There's a pretty simple solution to this. Make it obvious to the survivors that you're not there to kill them and they'll just let you get the hits in. Sure its less fun, but its way quicker.

I've done that for most of the Hillbilly challenges. But now for my survivor challenges I need done it feels like I'm going to need to depip because killers are too try hard at my current rank to do some of the stuff I need.

  • I think they need to make his POTD travel faster, and have a wider(Not longer) reach. Currently its too slow to be useful outside of animation locked survivors, and the whole attack isn't actually dangerous, only the center of it is, I've seen survivors in the red zone not take damage because they weren't dead center in it. The actual attack itself need to be buffed.

  • I rarely have to drop survivors but I've been learning to just grab people trying to unhook a survivor and then just dropping them right away so they can't unhook and I can catch a 2nd survivor if they're still trying to unhook in front of me. On some occassions I have had to drop a survivor as Pyramid Head because they're at Final Judgement and I accidentally picked them up

  • As a killer I think I've seen a TTV once or twice, the first time I killed them, the second one I saw was smurfing and they managed to beat me(I have no meta perks)

Survivor side I don't think I've seen a TTV killer yet, but I did see a TTV survivor once.

  • How about reworking consumables. Make them an upgrade system like how perks are so that you can just use the ones you want whenever you want.

Most veteran players will have so many of each consumable that them being consumable doesn't effect them, thus only punishing newer players who haven't ground out enough to the point that they can use whatever they want.

Now of course this would make some of the rarer consumables that can be too powerful more common, but they could also rework those to be less powerful to balance things out.

It would add in more actual progression.

For killers I don't think this would be much of a problem, but for survivors? I could see having infinite maps and keys being kind of an issue, but well keys are a whole issue in and of themselves right now.

It would take a lot of work, but I think it would be a good overall change.

  • I find slugging okay in a handful of circumstances, like if the survivors are way way too aggressive and there's no point hooking someone or picking them up because a survivor is going to come for them.

But the killer can very easily slug and just be a dick

  • I feel like Pyramid Head is close to being balanced but what he needs is a bit of a change to POTD in order for him to be.

Right now its a very slow projectile and hits a much smaller area than you would think(Its only dead center of the attack, you can be on the edges of it and still not take damage) Considering this its currently virtually useless outside of hitting a survivor with it while they're in an animation like pallet dropping, vaulting, or unhooking(Sometimes, sometimes I use it for that and it doesn't actually damage them).

The rest of his kit feels pretty fair. Cages can counter DS so unless someone lockers you can ensure they get a second hook during that time period, or if they managed to get to second stage then you can execute them.

His trails are amazing for detection if you place them well and depending on the map

really its just his ranged attack that needs work. He's one of the few killers that balances out some of the more powerful survivor perks.

David gives WGLF as well as dead hard which is also a good perk, dwight gives Provethyself and just play bubba for BBQ. you cant expect everything handed to you at game start im afraid but any new player can do the tutorials for 100k then use that on david and start from there, its really not that bad if you go for the stuff you want but dbd has alot of content from characters to perks so if you want everything in the game on everyone it will take awhile that goes for any game like this though and the shrine is a waste of shards. but there are perks, challenges, dailies and offerings that will help progress and any events also add to more ways

Nobody is wanting everything handed to them, don't get condescending dude. This is a competitive game, being forced to play without meta perks really hurts the experience, because any time you can get your ass kicked just because someone has the best perks and you're still spending dozens of hours grinding out just to get a couple of the good perks you need in order to play.

The current leveling system is just outdated and in need of some kind of revamp to make it a bit more fair for new players.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

i get about 20k+ as survivor and 25k+ as killer. if you want more run perks to help you get more both BBQ and WGLF can double all your points and perks like prove thyself give you 5k odd objective just doing 1 gen co-op. certain killers are also easier, it massively depends on your play style and how good you are. but you cant expect lots of bp if you arent willing to give up perk slots or do better on average in matches

That's totally reliant on actually owning those perks. Since the Shrine is incredibly unreliable that means grinding out hundreds of thousands of bloodpoints just to get perks that make the grind a little more bearable

  • @Poorfu said:

The fact they lost over 9,000 players in one month is outstanding. This game is so bugged out, it's unbelievable and yet all we get is more cosmetics.

I don't know if its truly dying, but I can understand why massive amounts of players only sporadically play the game. Already I've been getting burnt out from all the smurf games I keep running into, and the lack of perks I have makes it far more difficult to combat any of the smurfs since they all run meta stuff and I'm stuck with whatever perks my killer has

  • I do agree kicking feels useless without regression perks. The amount of time lost on the generator is usually so minimal that if the gen is almost done then I would have to camp it to actually have it lose meaningful progress

On the other hand I find the regression perks incredibly annoying and powerful.

  • @maderr said:

When playing killer against survivors that know the game, even if they are noobs at juking/looping, they succeed to do all gens in 5 minutes.

Played two times in a row against SWF high rank (they clearly knew the game), and i clearly couldn't do anything, even though i ended every chase in ~30 sec.

Gens finished in 5 minutes exactly (i recorded the game and checked), door opened instantly after.

Found the first survivor 10 seconds after spawning. Got 1 kill + 2 hooked.

Survivors didn't have any chase skill, they did some loops but nothing awesome, never lost my track.

There is a real problem with this.

Ah and, to mention it, i play surv in a great SWF, each of us goes out 90% of the time when we play together. We struggle against high skilled spirit and the hag, that's all.

Hell I've been encountering this a lot because of literal nonstop smurfs. ever since I hit 15 EVERY match has been a smurf match. Its getting ridiculous(This is relevant), I keep facing red rank survivors all the time, and ######### the gens finish so fast. Like when I fix a gen as survivor it takes a bit over a minute yet these guys seem to finish gens in less than a minute. I've had to resort to camping because while these guys do get gens done super fast, they're also incredibly stupid as hell and I usually can just catch them when they try to rescue a survivor literally in front of my face. (Borrowed time doesn't do much if I grab you during the unhook).

I always hated camping when playing survivor, but the higher rank I go the more I feel the need to do it because these guys are running meta perks and I haven't even hit level 50 one 1 killer, so I don't have anything in the way of good perks to use across killers. And the Shrine of secrets usually has random ######### that isn't useful

  • Okay since I moved up to the yellow ranks I've found that Smurfing is incredulously rampant in them. Literally every game I've had since reaching yello has had red smurfs in it.

  • This actually just happened to me right now a few moments ago. I face off against 4 survivors and they turned out to be a whole group, 2 were rank 5, one was rank 1, and one was rank 17, and I'm a rank 17 killer(I only got the game around a month ago).

It was super stressful, they were incredibly aggressive, and somehow seemed immune to my attacks when they were unhooking which I hadn't seen before. I still managed to kill 2 of them and one was the rank 1 but damn that was like way way above what I'm used to.

  • Its got nothing to do with controllers, most games if at the same framerate will be about equal whether controller or keyboard. Its more the framerate.

  • I feel like everyone is forgetting about how skilled or "powerful" some of the survivors actually are. Yes Dev, the killers are meant to be unstoppable but uhh Cheryl has killed beings more powerful Than Pyramid Head, and Pyramid head is most likely the most powerful killer.

If we exclude cheryl, and only go with "OG Survivors, and OG Killers" then that's a different discussion. Like Cheryl would most likely solo every killer, powered up by the entity or not.

  • It depends on which survivors you team up. Ash, Cheryl, Bill, David Tapp, Laurie Strode, and maybe David King any combination of those 4 could kill ANY of the killers. Cheryl killed a newborn god and countless scores of supernatural monsters. Ash well hail to the king baby, Bill is a soldier pretty much. The others I listed are fighters, but really Cheryl and Ash just the duo would most likely be able to kill any of the Killers.

  • It does feel kind of strange. When ghost face exposes me I atleast feel its kind of fair, most of the time he had to work for that expose in order to insta down me. With other killers like Myers who get insta downs they have to work for it.

But Bubba and Hillbilly? Nah they get free insta downs and people defend them. Why not just give Myers and Ghostface insta downs with no requirements then?

Why is it fair for the chainsaws to just have low effort insta downs?

  • Dude I had a match against him earlier where we physically could not win due to him being able to use his portals to instantly travel to every remaining generator. Sure we got down to 1 needed to power the gates, but it was impossible to repair because he was running ruin.

  • @NomiNomad said:

Yeah, oof. I haven't seen the movie, but I believe that's just where he slept, because he was the Pre-Schools gardener (which I think would be, like, illegal). Both Freddy and Pyramid Head are probably the darkest characters, as both they're stories have (implied) sexual abuse.

PH only sexually abused monsters, and even then Pyramid head was universe, if you deserved to be judged and punished, then he would judge and punish you. Equally. Monsters and humans were not safe from him he's not really a good guy of course, but think of him like the old saying "Justice is blind", he isn't bound by morals.

  • I've tried but a lot of times the killer thinks I'm braindead, not that I'm trying to tell them I want to farm. Its funny, as the killer its so easy to let the survivors know I want to farm, but its the opposite when I'm on survivor

  • I really hate the traps, they're annoying and unfun.

  • If I don't have noed and the gate is open, there's no reason to go to it unless a survivor is injured before trying to escape.

If the gates are closed I'll patrol them, but once they're open most of the time the game is just over.

Fun fact: Literally any cosmetic can be removed from your account at will. Even those you have spent money on. The EULA allows this. Going back on the stance on exclusives is entirely possible.

Virtual Goods are licensed to you, not sold. You do not own the Virtual Goods, and you acknowledge and agree that all Virtual Goods represent a limited, personal, nonexclusive, non-transferable, non-assignable and fully revocable license to use the Virtual Goods, for your individual, non-commercial, entertainment purposes only. You have no right, title, interest, or ownership in or to any Virtual Goods. We may terminate your license at any time and at our sole discretion.

    Source: https://store.steampowered.com//eula/381210_eula_0

Eulas are always such a ######### thing. Like "oh hey you bought our game and that means you own it! But if you don't agree to this contract you literally cannot use the product which you own because we say so!"

Pretty sure there's something illegal about that, I remember someone who used to create Eula's for companies talked about how a lot of what they put inside of them isn't actually Legally actionable, i.e. they're not actually able to enforce it, they just want you to think they can.

  • One of the problems is that there's really no way to combat camping. If the killer decides to camp, well then that person is pretty much dead. Sure you can work on generators, but one person being guaranteed removed is kind of... broken.

Its like an unintentional flaw in game design. Obviously killers are intended to go around applying gen pressue but you know... some killers really don't care if 2 survivors escape, and camping can easily get you 3 kills depending on the killer you chose and the survivors. There's no actual "Counterplay" to camping. Yes the other survivors can focus on gens while the killer camps, but that's still one death, and then most likely atleast a 2nd death when the killer camps again.

I would say its a similar issue to slugging, where the killer just downs as many survivors if not all survivors instead of hooking them. There's just not anything the survivors can do in most cases to fight back against it.

  • I could see one of the Demon's from Kimetsu No Yaiba getting in, or maybe a character from My Hero Academia. Would be a bit weird, but there's a few iconic ones in both that would fit

They, like me, probably didn't realize until now that they disappear faster around the hook.

Its not quite that, there's a certain radius around the hook that trails can't be placed, they'll vanish instantly, but you can still get around it, most hooks are in areas you can still completely encompass with a trail if you're smart about it.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

Trying to lay Rites of Judgement Trails around a hooked Survivor.

    Why are you doing this?

Why are you wasting your time?

    What are you doing?

Are you suffering from a head injury?

Do you mean close enough that the Trails can't form?

I always form a circle of trails around a hooked survivor, to ensure whoever picks them up, and probably the survivor themselves have to have torment.

But If you mean when they are too close so they can't actually put the trails down, as a PH main I sometimes forget the radius around some things that prevents me from putting a trail there so I might accidentally activate the trail where it can't go.

  • Their reasoning for Object of Obsession is kind of dumb. Of course the people using it tend to not escape often, they're not meant to. Its meant so that a group of players can exploit it in order to work around the killer easily. The person using the perk is not meant to survive, they're a scape goat so they can let the others in their team know where the killer is.

Why do the devs not seem to understand this? Every time they defend the perk, they complete ignore WHY people are complaining about it. They're just like "Oh people think this perk is overpowered for some reason. We don't know why, we have all these stats doohickies that completely ignore all context of the issue players have with it, we're going to trust the stats instead of actually investigating the issue players are bringing up."

  • I'd like to know if we're going to see Cross progression with Console versions at all. Most of my friends play on Xbox and I'd love to just move over there to make it easier to play with them outside of crossplay, but sadly right now there's only Cross Progression with Steam and Stadia (Such a useless feature, its only good for people who were dumb enough to buy into stadia to move to an actually functioning platform)

  • I've been working on my challenges as a killer recently and I was pretty easily able to convince the survivors to help me by making it clear I wasn't trying to kill them. ITs made a lot of what would've been painful challenges super quick and easy, along with enabling the survivors to get what they need done too.

Unfortunately this doesn't transfer over well to my survivor challenges... I have yet to meet a killer who's willing to just let me do what I need to do

  • I don't think Lucifer would make sense, I mean hell Pyramid Head is kind of a stretch in the lore, but there's no way that Lucifer(Who would probably be more powerful than the entity) would actually serve it.

But on the other hand, I think it would be pretty cool to have Sam and Dean as survivors, and well we already have Ash as a survivor so it wouldn't be breaking the mold 2 much to add more people that would probably be killing the killers and not running from them.

  • @GoodLookinCookin said:

I think that dbd should be scary even after 100 hours, people make the argument that when you watch a horror movie 20 times its not gunna be scary anymore which is true, but dbd is not a fixed experience where the same thing will happen over and over again.

The problem is that the general gameplay feels safe once you understand it. As a survivor you have many "second chances" whether it be perks or hooks or even just healing. Examples:

    1. If the killer finds you and hits you, you can still run away and either escape and heal somewhere or be chased for awhile until you get hit again which leads into number 2
    2. You have a total of 3 times you need to be hooked if you are rescued before your hook timer runs out.
    3. There are many perks in the game that can save your life that are not complicated (Dead Hard, BT, DS, Etc.)

Before I say more I am not saying that this gameplay loop is bad in anyway, but rather am saying that it does not support the playstyle of a "scary" game.

There are many things that could be changed to make the game scary but I would not know where to start.

Do you agree or disagree? Seems to me that dbd needs to sells their horror slasher title a little better what do you think?

I think one of the things that hurts the horror factor is that its rare for a killer to be able to directly kill the Survivors(Outside of Mori's) and the game seems to try to avoid "Gore" or being "Gruesome". Many of the kills that the killers can perform barely even look brutal, and its not helped by the game having very mediocre and goofy looking blood. When I see a guy shove a chainsaw in my characters chest and pull it up, and nothing changes on the character model, not a single thing along with spurts of what looks more like ketchup, I'm not scared or intimidated at all, in fact it almost looks comical. The only kill that looks kind of fine is the Hag Mori, which still suffers from the zero change in character model , but does have such brutality it could be intimidating atleast.

I understand part of the reasoning that likely goes into No Gore or Gruesome kills. It probably saves the devs a ######### ton of time not having to model all that, but it completely ruins the spirit of these kills. This is a horror game, not 5 Nights at Freddy's. Seeing so many iconic killers basically just kill people by slapping them with a wiffle bat ruins the immersion and any real horror.

When I play Pyramid Head and I slam my giant ass knife down on a person, I expect to see some damage, hell I expect to see them cut into 2 pieces, not to see a squirt of Ketchup and no damage at all.

So tldr, Rare to see direct kills, kills look like they were made safe for children to see.

it made queue time worse when playing killer, it made queue times way better for survivor but there's no point in playing survivor if half your team mates are useless, and the vast majority of consoles are.

Console players are not equipped for PC metas. The controller is objectively a worse method of input than a keyboard and mouse, and all consoles have lesser hardware when compared to basically any medium end gaming pc.

Controllers have nothing to do with inputs in this game, get off your PC master race high horse, this isn't an FPS. The real reason console players have gone down in skill is because DBD got added to Xbox game pass, so a bunch of little kids and people who barely play games are able to play DBD for "free" now, which has lowered the overall skill gap.

  • I like how "Just use addons" is considered by some to be a good argument. Like "Okay we know this killer has some issues so use a consumable item that fixes those problems so they're actually playable".

Plague obviously has some problems that need to be looked at, She's had dozens of threads made about them over the past couple of months. Something is obviously wrong with how she functions and its primarily the fact that she is reliant on survivors cleansing in order to do anything. One already corrupted pool in the middle of bum ######### no where doesn't help, and using an item so she gets 3 is a bandaid on an obvious issue.

  • Cheryl Mason would 100% survive. She killed a demon God thing and fought monsters that would make normal humans piss their pants.

  • I got my ass kicked by a killer earlier while Solo Queuing. Not exactly my fault, the killer tunneled me so damn hard, like the other survivors fixed 4 generators in the time he was focused on me and he hooked me once, I was rescued and like 2 minutes later he ran past the other survivors to only attack me. Then after I died he slugged the 3 remaining survivors and left the last 1 to bleed to death.

I so far have never enjoyed a Solo Queue. Just bad luck I guess.

Not meant to offend you but in order for him to ignore evidence you would have to provide it in the first place. I´m curious as of what you can offer in that regard.

I never claimed that he ignored evidence. But he claimed that it was all just speculation with no proof. While it is speculation, there have been several threads lately about killers coming into eerily perfect matches for the survivors, along with a couple of people outright saying that a new workaround was found for the anti cheat system but refusing to go into details.

If you have some sort of issue with that then I'm not going to argue or debate on this. But dismissing the entire potential for people to cheat, when not even the greatest anti cheats can actually stop 100% of cheaters is asinine.

They haven't though people are just speculating that because spine chill is being used when they play a stealth killer

You're not listening at all. The evidence for that has NOTHING to do with spine chilled. But keep trying to make it about that. I'm talking about Survivors finishing matches with perk and item loadouts perfectly designed to counter what the killer is using, not like "OH EMMM GEEE THEY USED SPINE CHILLED AND I AM STEALTH ERMAGERD THEY MUST BE HACKKERZ!".

But I doubt you'll even read this you're most likely going to ignore any evidence because "Its impossible for people to hack video games!"

My comment was not at all about Spine CHilled, I was letting Elena know that people have found a work around that allows them to know what the killer is while in the lobby

People have apparently found a workaround again, there's been several reports of Killers running up against survivors who perfectly counter it

maybe you should take a break from the game clickyclicky. It doesn’t seem you have fun with the game atm.

maybe his range attack needs some small buffs but the current state of beeing constantly in a win/win situation isn’t good or skillful.

and that 99% of all complaints are from survivors is bs. The forums are full of killer complaints too. Even more in the past before a lot of needed survivor nerfs happened. A lot of players are winey, doesn’t matter which role the prefere.

if it matter, I play both roles in red ranks (Trapper & hag main) Most days I am full with strong painkillers so I can’t focus with so much fog in my head and the middle of my screen is doubled for me. I still can deal with the most survivors. Don’t tell me healthy ppl can only win with spirit or nurse.

the brutal effizient and maybe toxic swf stays usually longer in mind than the common swf you just stomped with doc or clown.

His current state is not constantly a win/win situation for his ranged attack. Its only a win/win in ONE situation, the rest of the time its worthless, far too slow, far too small, and far too long recovery. Its really really bad if you try to use it outside of hitting someone going through a window or doing a pallet.

  • I've only slugged a couple of times, and I've never slugged more than 2 people. I didn't even know what it was called until recently. I didn't actually intend to do it but I have this group of survivors that was SO DAMN AGGRESSIVE they would not stop trying to rush this one survivor on a hook and I couldn't help it I had to just keep bopping them on the head until they went down because there was no way to stop them otherwise.

    Lol

DH has been unchanged for years, its never getting changed. Ormond was ignored in the last map rework so any changes are still likely a long way off and look at how some of the maps they tinkered with are still garbage. Spirit did get nerfed and she will have another coming again soon.

PH only out 3 months and now hes being gutted because survivors dont control the chase 100%

I added some more explanation to my post. His POTD wasn’t viable and was mostly used while the survivor was animation locked due to a number of reasons, they’re only addressing the long cooldown which does nothing for the attack itself. Without more changes hes going to be garbage and another killer who becomes a survivors toy in a chase. Which is what they want.

In fact im going to go out on a limb and guess this will be a lengthy pause to canceling M2 but only fractions of a second taken off his POTD cooldown.

As a PH Main I will say again, I never use his ranged attack because of how awful it is. It was only useful in ONE SINGLE CIRCUMSTANCE and that was when survivors were locked in an animation. Its too slow, has too little range, and while they reduced the recovery period it won't solve the other two issues. Its just too easy for a survivor to either sidestep it, or as I have encountered on several occassions due to the long ass animation, even flat out outrun it at times. Similar to how awful the cages are at the moment, POTD is also pretty awful both powers being far too situational now. When I play PH I pretty much just use the trails and torment to score executions because the rest of his abilities suck.

It's in the first half of the sentence guy. You pull a Huntress and wait to they're animation locked then down. Except he doesn't need to replenish his power.

Going by the countless threads I've seen, no one thinks he has any other power because they apparently never walk on his barbed wire things.

It's like a Demo that never uses portals. They don't see much use in using them which is a crying shame.

To be fair this has something to do with his Cage of Atonements being absolutely dogshit. Seriously. Sure they can sacrifice survivors, but when you use one it spawns the cage at the literal opposite side of the map from PH, it doesn't tell you where it is at all, and it consumes torment. From my experience playing him, the cages are useless unless you're dealing with a team of survivors that completely prevents you from using the hooks, in which case you can use them as a ######### way of progressing their sacrifice meter.

Due to the sheer distance involved using a Cage basically gives the survivor a guaranteed unhook, since its virtually impossible for PH to actually put pressure on the cage.

Because of this, I actually almost never use Cage of Atonement, instead I just let them keep torment on and play like other killers until after the 2nd hook when I get to execute them.

Might have been stuck in a lose/lose situations but funny enough, I played against him and no one would POTD at pallets or Windows...why? Idk but it definitly wasn't a lose/lose

Going to be honest I main PH and I didn't know that you could use his ranged attack through those things, I pretty much never did that. I didn't really ever use it at all because of the crazy recovery time and how slow it is making it unreliable

  • I feel like there should be more penalties for not cleansing her gunk. Like its dumb how the strategy for her is to just IGNORE her ability. Like what the hell? Atleast for other killers like Pyramid head if a survivor ignores the torment effect they can be executed, but there's so little penalty for Survivors to ignore Plague.

So you camp to struggle and mainly play swf cuz it's too hard with out knowing everything. case closed-BS player

That's not at all what I said. I was talking about teamwork. Its very hard to work as a team with no communication at all. I don't need ######### like callouts like someone abusing a perk to know where the killer is at all times, I just need stuff like "Hey can you come help me with this gen? Hey I'm hiding out over here I need someone to heal me"

Hey buddy that's the Other World version of Midwich

It's probably easy to accomplish if it's based off the prototype of Freddy's dream world, maybe they could do it, but,I don't think they would, seeing as he doesn't have the same fan base as Pyramid Head an fans of the series might find it offensive, because he was never they main antagonist of the story or an antagonist at all only an underlying passive guide, He was only their to unsure the new God was birthed into this world. If they added a section from the Blue Creek Apartments as a map that would be nice or the Labyrinth, they could add Heather Mason's true enemy and one she battled like the Missionary because it would make more sense. I think if they added Valtiel it would be totally iconic but who knows and probably draw even more people in from the series.

He is straight up an antagonist. Not directly but the birth of the god inside of Cheryl will kill her, and Valtiel's entire purpose is to ensure that happens, thus, his entire purpose is antagonistic to Cheryl since his goal will ultimately end with her death. While he's not an actual boss that you fight like some of the other bosses, he is still a villain.
