  • I mean, until now you didn't even think it is possible to do, but it doesn't take skill now?

If so, then you would have more players doing it, right?

Same for hit&run / stealth builds, you need to be good at guessing distance, so survivors won't prerun.

Perhaps its slightly better but its far from what it was, especially since solo queue is more aware of three genning.

I don't need to ask, you just told me you three genned survivors and used undetectable to brainlessly kill them. No skill in that.

I wouldn't say it's worse overall. Issue is her old 3-gen wasn't really able to win properly.

Her current 3-gen is easier to break, but she also has better chance to win. So her current 3-gen is definetly more healthy for the game, it is similar to other killers with good 3-gens.

But it is definetly viable strategy, I often use it when I notice survivors with multiple toolboxes. It's funny challenge for me, they want to escape faster, so I play against it.

Yeah, it was a fantastic change. I don't base my chase around what teammates are doing though. I just make use of all the loops I can and loop efficiently. I couldn't care less what they are doing, as long as I get a long chase in, I'm happy. It's what solo queue matchmaking does to you.

Well, I am used to expect my teammates know what they are doing... So I just act based on information I am given.

I do most of my challenges soloQ, or when survivors have 100% BP and don't really have an issue with it now. I don't expect to escape most of my games unlike when I play SWF, but it's still fun for me. As long I get decent chase, I am happy, if I help someone escape, even better.

You just have to play with different expectations, that's like playing Blight vs Pig for me.

She holds it just as well as an M1 killer can. That's not quite well. They would also have to dedicate the match protecting the three gen which would pretty easily lead to their downfall.

If there wasn't very limited builds or playstyles, why would people rate her as the most boring killer to face? Wesker has many playstyles and that's why its fun to face him albeit how much times you have him. Boredom doesn't happen because a killer was bad to face. They apparently still are.

She holds it just as well as an M1 killer can. That's not quite well.

It's definetly way better than normal M1 killers.

You just setup drones in all loops around 3-gen and force survivors to work on gens injured, then sneak up with stealth.

Funny is I have never played Chess merchant before, but I did after her rework just to show survivors they are not saved from it :D

why would people rate her as the most boring killer to face?

Go ask them, I don't really mind playing against her...

I consider it hate of past issue...

  • There could even be some border around the perks in the post-game screen

I would love to see that.

  • @mikewelk said:

What valuable information does it have? Please, inform me. That I'm getting chased...?

What your teammates are doing is quite good to know. That's something I am quite happy about. I consider that great change that helped soloQ a lot, at least for my games...

If I see noone is working on gens, I am going to play more risky, because I don't want to waste resources.

If I see three survivors working on different gens, I will do my best to have as long as possible chase, doesn't matter how many pallets I use.

We can both agree her three gen capability is bad now so that isn't even a playstyle to consider. Hit and run can intertwine with stealth and chase is just chase. Very limited builds.

Setting them around gens is useless due to the counterplay you provided (which I provided in the discussion) so it's definitely a way to play her, but far from effective. We are left with only two playstyles that are considered effective.

We can both agree her three gen capability is bad now so that isn't even a playstyle to consider.

No, we can't. She is still able to hold 3-gen quite well. It's just not hour long 3-gen without winning version..

    Very limited builds.

I mean, if you consider this limited, then we get back to "same as many other killers".

  • @mikewelk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3593229#Comment_3593229

How do maps affect her playstyle? Drones just become less effective for indoor maps. Builds are mostly the same. There is very little variation because there doesn't have to be any. She's strong in each category. How do they use drones differently? Some forget to use them?

    • You can try to use them in advance on loops
    • You can try to set them around gens
    • You can just use them mainly for stealth

    Builds again are different:

    • hit & run
    • stealth
    • 3-gen
    • chase

Maps affect effectivness of her stealth.

Okay, you do you. It's literally like having the HUD feature at the bottom of the screen. It's not that deep. Could even be semi-transparent.

You are not able to notice your survivor model in chase.

You are not able to look at HUD, which has also other valuable information btw.

but you think semi-transparent block under your survivor would help it?

  • @mikewelk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3593221#Comment_3593221

That's entirely subjective though. I looped one recently for five gens. Never done that with a Skull Merchant.

Survivors give up because they realize the rework didn't fix much apart from the Chess Merchant situation. Sure, the past haunts her, but survivors don't just give up because it WAS bad. It's because every game is the exact same.

It's because every game is the exact same.

    How so?

Different maps affect her, it's very different to play against Merchant indoor / outdoor.

Builds are different, she has different playstyles.

Players use drones in different ways.

If you try to say she just walks into a loop and use her power, we get back it "same as most other killers"...

  • @mikewelk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3593219#Comment_3593219

How come? It's only more information they can use to plan accordingly and won't interfere with the game. Unless they like to inspect the grass whilst looping.

I wouldn't like pointless things on my screen, which I don't need.

They could make it an accessibility feature tho...

  • @mikewelk said:

Alright lets use Nightlight. Her kill-rate is at 67.29%, way ahead of the optimum 60% BHVR set. Clown has a 49.80% kill-rate. Way below the optimum 60%. How can Clown be better than Skull Merchant?

I did assume because I like to play other people's games.

You would be suprised how much your kill rates increase when survivors keep giving up. Which is mostly still because of her old version. That's not something you can fix.

Clown has better chase than merchant, which is what you mainly complain about...

It is hard to see on bright maps.

I do want the meter in the bottom middle, better to see enlargened circles/shapes and remain focused on chase.

I mean, that doesn't affect Skull merchant, so I couldn't care less, but I would expect most survivors to hate it.

  • @mikewelk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3593205#Comment_3593205

Yeah I can. Now try to see that when the SM has undetectable and you have no idea where she is and you're desperately trying to hear where the footsteps are coming from. Or, you know, when you're actually in a chase.

You say you want something in middle of your screen while you already have something in middle of your screen....

That glowing is visble quite a lot, it's not hard to notice it with peripheral vision.

He can do most of her things better? Explain how I encounter Skull Merchants every other game whilst Clown games occur almost once in three weeks. Pick rates prove otherwise.

You read what I write about one problematic killer and then base it on all the other killers and call it my standard. That is assuming.

I said it's not worth it, and you agreed since you didn't argue about it.

Why should I argue about it? I just thought it is funny to bring it as an argument and then say it's not worth doing it, it doesn't make any sense.

how I encounter Skull Merchants every other game whilst Clown games occur almost once in three weeks. Pick rates prove otherwise.

    • Clown is old killer, nothing new about him
    • Skull merchant just got reworked
    • Skull merchant is women
    • Skull merchant has better skins (in my opinion)

Based on nighlight (best thing we have) her pick rate is currently 2.54%, that is supposed to be a lot? Clown has 2.35%... So massive difference.

you agreed since you didn't argue about it.

    That is assuming.

Sometimes you can't hold W like you said. What then?

Once you loop them a while you tend to lose track of how much times you glew red for a second. You know, because you're getting chased by a anti-loop killer and have other things to focus on.

Can you notice this? Glowing red survivor?

You don't even know my standard. You just assume everything about me. Literally everything.

Every other killer provides a different experience. If you think they're all the same then you must be going against the same players. Skull Merchant only provides two scenarios as listed in the discussion which has not been argued about. I'd be glad to.

It's worth to talk about it because you want to compare them two. That's exactly what I'm doing. According to you then, half of his ability is useless. Why is Skull Merchant so much better than him then? Where's the balance?

You just assume everything about me. Literally everything.

Not really, I read what you wrote, notice it doesn't work for many other killers and point it out...

According to you then, half of his ability is useless.

Half of what? Clown? You are the one who said it's not worth it. I don't think so...

Why is Skull Merchant so much better than him then?

When did I say she is much better than him? I am just interested why you think she is an issue when he can do most of her things better.

  • @mikewelk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3593185#Comment_3593185

No because I focus on where the killer is and react to that. I don't take time to count how much tiny circles or whatever I have around my survivor's portrait on the very left of my screen because it hinders my reaction time and that's a gg go next in high MMR.

The lasers aren't always perfect thanks to server lag and I randomly do get scanned from time to time. I'm positive many others have as well. It's like Huntresses' hatches, they either become trucks or arrows.

hinders my reaction time and that's a gg go next in high MMR

You don't have time to look at HUD while you hold W away from loop?

I don't take time to count how much tiny circles or whatever I have around my survivor's portrait

You can see on survivor model, you got tagged... You are literally glowing red for a second. How the hell you are not able to notice that? That is in middle of your screen...

I do that already. I also didn’t complain about tunneling but other players talking down this playstyle? Which happens A LOT

(and no, I am not just hiding and never getting chased. I tank hits if necessary, I trade hook states, pull Aggro of killer, all if needed for anyone already jumping in to shame me more distortion lol)

Well, I don't like to play with, or against hiding survivors. But sure, it's matter of preference.

I don't really think it's connected with issue of tunneling tho.

  • @mikewelk said:

Yeah and when you throw it, it doesn't go far enough and you need to hold back to get the effect. That takes time and isn't worth it most of the time.

Yeah the drone will never tag you unless you run to another loop but here's the problem, most loops are far away on numerous maps. You're forced to stay there and witness the effect. Skull Merchant isn't slower when placing the drones to allow that.

Because Dredge requires skill. You can't just hold the remnant and use the same strategy over and over again or you'll be predictable. Every single Skull Merchant is predictable but, with lack of counterplay, what can you even do about it? It literally feels like you're going against the same Skull Merchnt each game. There's nothing different about the games.

There's nothing different about the games.

    Again, like most killers...

I will never understand why you try to hold Skull merchant to your "standard", which doesn't work for most other killers anyway.

you need to hold back to get the effect. That takes time and isn't worth it most of the time.

That's true only for max range throws and you said it's not worth it, so why bother talking about it? In your opinion it's something clown shouldn't do.

When he is close range -> other side of the loop, there is almost no down time.

  • @mikewelk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3592746#Comment_3592746

Well I have a problem when my entire loop becomes inaccessible and I randomly receive claw trap tokens that I cannot acknowledge since I'm focused on the chase. Would be nice to at least have a meter on the bottom center of the screen to display that.

You said you play in high MMR, but you are not able to look at HUD while being in chase?

You can see laser passing through your body, that's not good enough hint? When it happens three times, you get claw trap, there is nothing random about it.

  • @Mooks said:

Some people just can’t comprehend that different people like different stuff in a game and will talk down anything that they don’t prefer.

many people have stated they would like the game to feel more like a horror game - which would obviously include more hiding, trying to avoid the killer and seeing the killer and a chase as a threat. But yeah the majority likes the chases and holding chases as long as possible instead of trying to leave a chase - which is a valid take but the game was definitely designed to have different aspects and you should be able to at least play the game in your preferred way without getting insulted… which apparently isn’t possible.

maybe that’s where a new game mode should come into play? Not ranked by casual (bc that would work at all) or just upping the number of players in one match (which would still be the same mode) - but one mode being more horror themed and one being more like what we currently have - chase-themed with more focus on anti-stealth but more 1-on-1 action..

Then use perks to help with this playstyle?

Lucky break, Lucky Star, Distortion and any exhaustion perk are going to help you a lot to get out of any chase.

  • @mikewelk said:

Clown needs to switch potions to use his haste ability which takes time.

    Drone is pretty fast nevertheless.

Yes and Skull Merchants are aware of the speed boost and can play around it to render it null if you're zoned.

The guard doesn't take any skill whatsoever, neither does the remnant. With the remnant it's just about decision-making which requires skill.

Needs to switch potions? Since when it takes time? It's button press again.

    Drone is pretty fast nevertheless.

Unless you stay there / return it will never tag you. Even when I stand on top of survivor, they can run away from it.

Yes and Skull Merchants are aware of the speed boost and can play around it to render it null if you're zoned.

All those killers are aware how their powers work and can play around it. It's not different from skull merchant.

The guard doesn't take any skill whatsoever, neither does the remnant.

So why do you try to argue it's bad about Skull mechant, when those things are exactly same for many other killers again?

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

That's why I said bloodlust SLASH haste.

You don't have to leave the loop against a Dredge. It's way better if you don't, otherwise he might cut you off with a locker teleport. I've looped a Dredge on the same loop countless times, just takes good mindgames. Never felt forced to leave.

What would I get a speed boost from exactly? Running through drones does not give a speed boost. Also, Artist takes skill in order to line up the crows correctly and to predict a survivor's movement. Placing a drone doesn't, you just need to be near a survivor for it to work.

How does she have haste if you left the loop? It's not something she can get whenever she wants unlike Clown...

Drone is also not instant, you have time to leave when she deploys it. Which means she has neither haste or bloodlust.

What would I get a speed boost from exactly?

When you get injured by drones, you get normal speed boost. You don't just become broken.

Artist takes skill in order to line up the crows correctly

It's not really that hard to use in loops. It takes skill to get hits across whole map, but when you stack three crows in a loop, it takes skill to miss instead...

    Placing a drone doesn't

Like most powers in DBD... Just because it is not difficult to press a button, it doesn't mean that power is too strong...

Using Guard in loop takes skill?

If I have The Carnifex as Knight, you are even more screwed. You can't even drop a pallet in front of me at that point.

    Using Remnant takes skill?

Press a button, walk around a loop, if survivors gets close to it, use it, if don't cancel it...

All of those are quite basic powers. Same for Clown, to use his power you need more knowledge than skill. But that's true for any killer.

  • @mikewelk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3592482#Comment_3592482

You can loop Clown by taking advantage of his long reloads. Clown should get quality of life changes however as he isn't the most liked killer to say the least and yet he isn't too powerful at the same time.

    his long reloads

If Clown reloads mid chase, he screwed it.

What are you going to do anyway in a loop? Camp pallet? It's three seconds, when you are most likely to stand in exactly same spot...

Why won't you take advantage of temporary immunity, which is also three seconds skull merchant drones have?

    @mikewelk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3592487#Comment_3592487

Because for Artist you can run into the crows which doesn't injure you or you can bait doing that so the Artist releases them. Two counterplays. Dredge is the exact same, but when he holds his ability he moves slower, allowing you to move to the next loop. An extra counterplay. Knight is a different story. You can't just run to the next loop each time against a 4.6 m/s killer (that developed bloodlust/haste) without getting hit.

You can't just run to the next loop each time against a 4.6 m/s killer (that developed bloodlust/haste) without getting hit.

Again, if killer used power, they don't have bloodlust. So if there is no drone, you don't have to leave. If there is drone, why did you run there?

Funny is with Dredge you actuallly have to leave loop. It's easy against him, but he is going to get hit if you stay there sooner or later. You can play loop against Skull merchant.

Because for Artist you can run into the crows which doesn't injure you

But it allowes her to injure you with next crow even through walls / loop / distance.

With that logic you can run through drones, they are not able to injure you under 6 seconds and you would have to really try to catch all lasers. While you still get speed boost.

You can bait crows? That's a counterplay?

Well, you can dodge lasers by correct pathing.

You can crouch for second, you can stand in check spot.

It's funny what you consider counterplay with those killers is not really better what you don't consider counterplay for skull merchant.

  • @CrypticGirl said:

No, I think this is a good change. People complained about Survivors getting stacked MFT+Hope, so why should Killers get haste stacks? They're already faster than Survivors at base.

Also, if they didn't deactivate Batteries Included for endgame, the effects would just be nerfed into the ground like every other perk they've nerfed.

the effects would just be nerfed into the ground

So it was nerfed into the ground even before it reached live servers... Make sense

It's completely useless perk now. Perk that is supposed to be best late game, doesn't work in end game...

How is this conversation still going? Placing a Drone in a loop is like Artist, Knight, and Dredge. You just run to the next one.

Funny is I consider drones weaker than any of those three...

    I would probably rate it:

    • Knight
    • Dredge
    • Artist
    • Skull merchant

There is also a Trapper and Hag, kinda doing same thing, but I would say those are worse for this than Skull merchant.

Never said Clown's 15% didn't. It definitely does. If you can hack drones mid-chase, without getting hit, then I don't know what the Skull Merchants you go against are doing.

You can't do it regularly, but it is possible and funny to do.

So Clown is also not fine and should be changed, because you can't loop him?

  • @mikewelk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3592471#Comment_3592471

Hack the drone mid-chase? Oh my. If that doesn't give the most free hit ever then I don't know what does. You also seem to forget 10% hindered doesn't really allow looping with a claw trap on.

10% doesn't allow looping, but clown's 15% does? It doesn't stop your vaults, so you can just camp pallet and outcome is exactly same.

    Hack the drone mid-chase?

Not sure about console, but I can get it easily under 2 seconds, so it's not impossible on save loops. It's definetly funny to do.

  • @mikewelk said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3591670#Comment_3591670

See now that makes more sense. I agree that a nerf would require compensation but, as of right now, I don't really know in what aspect she feels weak.

Most interesting buff / QoL when we talk about increasing tokens for claw trap would be display number of tokens each survivor has.

That's not going to buff her chase, or affect survivors really. It will just allow her different playstyles, kinda like ghost face where you can try to setup multiple survivors for claw traps and then go for fast down.

It would definetly increase her skill ceiling.

You can track it currently when your options are 1/2 or claw trap, but that would get more annoying with more tokens. You have no way to know if it is worth try to force claw trap or go for normal hits. Is 1 and I would just waste my time, or it's 3 and I should try to get it on survivor?

Another issue is losing all tokens when survivor is hooked. You really wouldn't want to kill survivor with two M1 hits when they have 3 tokens just to lose all of that. Such a waste of time.

Another issue are her addons. Most of them are around claw traps, which is already harder to get than used to and this would make it even harder. So just rework some of them for something usefull.

What are you even talking about? You asked for a change, I gave you a change (extra token = nerf) and now you're talking about buffs?

How would requiring an extra token make it worse? It only delays Skull Merchant drones from injuring you.

What is point of this question when you are acknowledging it is a nerf.

    Nerf = Worse

When at any point have I asked for buffs without any other change?

I am just saying she is not in state where she should get straight nerfs. She is not strong enough for that.

Yeah that is just entirely your own interpretation of that which made you think I contradicted myself. I meant I want her deleted, but I'm not advocating for it. Just an opinion statement that shouldn't influence others. I don't know what you're seeing here but I'm not asking others to want her deleted. Should be fairly obvious.

It's meant to be a nerf as it allows survivors to endure an extra scan before they get injured/deep wounded. Literally the most straightforward thing.

You asked how would it make it worse... Now you say it is supposed to be nerf.

    Nerf = Worse

Perks that work occasionally can still be very good depending on what their effect is. Unbreakable, for example, is an extremely powerful perk despite its activation not being frequent, same with Deliverance. I would consider Forced Hesitation one of those considering what it does when it does activate.

I don't personally use it that much because my builds tend to be pretty specifically crafted, but I'd also say it'd activate way more frequently than once every four matches. Survivors do tend to group up if they're playing altruistically, and that does happen to me pretty frequently.

Also, nitpicking one of my examples doesn't really mean anything regarding my overall point, lol. Downgrade it to just a pretty decent perk if you must, my point stands.

I mean, you can't really compare survivor vs killers perks like this.

Survivors have total of 16 perks, it's not so bad to use 2-3 slots for situational perks that will carry game sometimes. Like unbreakable, or Reassurance.

This is not really same for killer, you have 4 perks. It's going to hurt you a lot to have perk that is not going to work most of the times and only rarely get any value.

Probably only perks that work for this are NOED/No way out. It's not really issue when they don't work, because it means you won before they could.

How can you call something "Main Event" if its so easy to get. Doesnt seem so main to me. Lol

So nerf should be rename to Regular Event?

  • Each player? That would make SWF so easy...

So let's ban Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Wesker for each game and just bully what's left....

    Just no.

  • Just rework it into some decent effect.

  • Have you ever played old Haddonfield with open basement window?

It was definetly a nerf, that map is still not good for most killers, but it's not as bad as it used to be.

  • I didn't think it was good anyway.

It would be niche in some end game builds, but that's about it. It's just waste of bloodpoints now.

  • That would be so boring. Everyone would be basically machete man...

How would she be useless? One trap scan is 5% haste for free, no bloodlust or requirements needed. Go to next loop or survivor not being chased gets scanned? Another stack of haste for free. It would just make her less oppressive.

Or if you go the hindered route, each scan hinders the survivor for 5 or 6 seconds helping to end chase.

The problem with her is the stacking hastes and hindered combine is literally impossible to play against no matter how good you are unless it's a baby killer just learning the ropes. Nothing I said is unreasonable as she has a high kill rate just from my experience against her. I haven't had a single game where she didn't 3k. Again this isn't comp SWF this is SOLO q which is a majority of players.

She is worse at everything except stealth.

You would want to nerf it by 50%, it would become on similar level before rework and it wasn't good.

You would also want to butcher her claw traps. She is already way worse on getting claw traps on survivors. You should never get it unless you are in chase, you shouldn't even get tagged unless you are in chase.

Most of her addons are around claw traps, they already bad, because of it and you would want to make it even worse.

How would she be useless? One trap scan is 5% haste for free

How would she be not useless? One trap scan is +3% btw

Clown has 10%, whenever he wants. You can actually deny her speed boost.

survivor not being chased gets scanned

That should simply never happen regularly. You can just crouch, or disarm it whenever you want.

You have a lot of them and they are cool, and let me remind you that Surge (Jolt) is the most used killer perk at the moment

Jolt is going to stop being universal perk, because of Stranger things return...

So, not really. Most universal perks are just bad except like 3, issue is they are killer specific, they are not good for any killer.

I denied wanting her deleted at the start? Genuinely what are you even talking about at this point. Just putting words in my mouth to make your arguments look somewhat better. Let me make this crystal clear. I want her deleted, however, I know that won't happen so I'm fine with some changes to alleviate the boredom of facing her. Never advocated for it or made it the main focus. You did. You made it the focus.

I'm not asking for a huge nerf, another assumption made by you. Might be a professional at this point. I'm looking for a rework or small alteration for the health of the game.

How would requiring an extra token make it worse? It only delays Skull Merchant drones from injuring you. What is your logic here because I think you're just rambling at this point.

Which questions have I ignored? The ones ANSWERED IN THE DISCUSSION PERHAPS?

I denied wanting her deleted at the start?

Am I calling for her to be deleted? Not at all.

    Really?

How would requiring an extra token make it worse?

What? Part of your power takes longer to active is supposed to be a buff or something?

  • Hmm, so should gen speed perks / toolboxes be slowed when noone was hooked yet?

  • @okaayletsgoo said:

Her speed bonuses + hindered makes her impossible to play against. The fact she can keep pace with a lithe or sprint burst just from the drone scan haste alone is ridiculous. She really doesn't have counter play other than hold W but that doesn't get you far for long against her. If she had one or the other haste or hindered from scans it would feel less ridiculous to go against. Both is way too much imo from playing against her a lot.

My only other change is the 8 seconds of undetectable she gets per trap. That combined with her add-ons that increase the duration and haste make her impossible to see coming in anything other. I truly don't see how she can have so much going for her just by preswing 1 button.

My suggestion would be a survivor can only gain one claw trap PER trap. To gain another trap they would have to run through a different trap scan. Undetectable duration is 4 seconds and add-ons can increase this.

Damn, you really want her useless.

If you get tagged by her drone with Sprint burts, something is wrong with your pathing...

  • @Avo said:

No need for more universal perks, why? Because The universal perks available are nice, and unlocking them all on new characters is a waste of bloodpoints. Secondly, currently Meg's perk layout is god tier. All you had to do is, Level-up Meg then Bill. So you can use, Resilience, Unbreakable, Adrenaline and Sprintburst, maybe Hope instead sprintburst. So at the moment, you can play with these perks nicely

Alright, then create new for killers only...

  • @Swirny said:

Imo we can nerf Windows if we nerf Pop + Pain so we don't need to do like 7 gens each match :)

    Those are already nerfed.

  • @Gastongard said:

Dont you think it would be a bit overtunned all of that just for 4 hooks? I like the direction of demotivating tunneling but why the aura revealing? blocking all gens for 1 minute is already enough, instead of the aura reading, i think it would be nice to get a second stage where it does the same but for when you get all survis with 2 hooks.

Do you even know what current Grim embrace does?

This is not really a buff, I would consider this almost a nerf. If there is one survivor hiding, you have dead perk.

BVHR has never revealed kill-rate of skull merchant. I don't get where you get any of stats because there are no official stats for skull merchant. the only official stats were last september 2022 when Wesker was released.

The game is balanced around 4v1, yeah. My solo queue games are fine against other killers, yet not with her. Even the better players struggle against her.

My soloq teammates struggle vs blight. Does that mean that blight deserves nerf? no, because in tournaments, blight performs perfectly fine. It is same for skull merchant.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3589809#Comment_3589809

It just means that something that is balanced for top 1% is also balanced for top 90%, top 70%, top 50% because the player with lower level are worse players playing vs worse players that are not playing to the highest potencial.

Dota use same logic, but I don't think it can be applied for DBD in same way.

Issue is worse you are, easier it is for killers, but with more experience except few killers it shifts towards survivors.

This balancing logic doesn't work that well for assymetric games.

I would still balance around better players, but probably not tournament level.

If they were balanced around top 1%, tournaments wouldn't exist. Killers would win each, and every, time. They are balanced around solo queue as the killer needs a optimal 60% kill-rate which solo queue provides. This is common sense, clearly not here.

The game is balanced around 4v1, yeah. My solo queue games are fine against other killers, yet not with her. Even the better players struggle against her.

    tournaments wouldn't exist

tournaments exist because they limit perks/items/addons and sometimes killers on both sides. It's rare to see norule tournament and even there they manage to be around 60%, which sounds like it is balanced around them...

if it was around soloQ, then killers would get absolutely destroyed against tournament squads. Well, many killers do... but that's usually issue with whole power of that killer, not really balancing.
