  • I don't mind them on either side. Its a fun item for survivors and another tool to deal with for killers + they were a lot stronger before.

The whole point of them is to obscure vision and they do that without being completely broken.

  • No, not really.

Don't get me wrong, I respect it. I know how much effort goes into playing that killer properly and at a high level.

But do I enjoy it? No. The chase gameplay isn't very fun & you're really just trying to chain pallet to pallet cause you know he's going to try to teleport/close the distance while you're running from a pallet to another pallet (assuming you've been marked already).

Again, nothing against people who main Singularity or enjoy him. Just isn't for me.

  • Just too much going for him. He's got an answer for everything.

He's got a power for vaults, he's got a free first hit that is undeserved and takes almost 0 effort, insane mobility that negates even the largest maps w/ the ability to cancel swings as well as the momentum from the swings.

The free hits + being able to cancel swings is probably the biggest problem with him IMO. Just feels very cheap & being able to cancel swings even when they make a mistake, again just feels very cheap and unfair to the survivor on the other end.

  • Opposite for me. I like the challenge & prefer the killers who try to win, cause I also try to win on the survivor side.

I dislike players with mentalities like yours.

  • I personally don't have a problem with either add on when I'm playing survivor. Its part of the fun in facing a Myers and finding out he's running it or not. It really depends on your teammates though.

A lot of people just catch on too late (especially the first person who gets caught, rip), don't make it to a locker in time, or just don't have any lockers around them. Usually happens around 2-3 gen point & match slows down due to people having to play a lot more strategically or else they die.

Its also pretty rare for a team of survivors to win against this (solo), since its not exactly hard to secure at least 2 kills running TS. The fun factor is a lot higher for me when I realize its a TS Myers, even if I do lose. I don't really want it changed or removed.

  • I haven't noticed a difference. Really just depends on the caliber of your teammates.

If teammates are smart, they'll split up and hit gens with a priority. While also not being completely awful in chase. But usually, 1 of these 2 takes a hit. If you notice gens getting done faster, it might be because you aren't really paying attention to gens/defending them. If you are so focused on a chase and getting a down on someone, that could usually be the reason why.

Its very easy to tunnel vision a survivor out of spite w/o realizing how much time has actually gone by. You can't allow people to just sit on gens and rotate.

Have you played other games like Untl Dawn, The Quarry and the Dark Pictures Anthology, I loved always the entrance to those games, my least fave though was Man of Medan, wasn't my favourite.

Oh yea totally! I still gotta do a playthrough UD (been putting it off sadly) but played through all the Dark Pictures & The Quarry. Favorite one for me was House of Ashes, just liked the whole storyline/plot. The Quarry was really good too. Probably in the top 3 for me.

  • I hate to go against the grain but I thought it dragged out too long, was incredibly slow paced & everything only starts going crazy/people start dying towards the end. If I could rate it..

    Beginning - 3/10

Middle - 1/10 (most boring part and also sadly the longest)

    Towards the end - 8/10

I think it was a weak addition by Supermassive and I enjoyed any of their other games a lot more. But I'm glad others enjoyed it & got their fill. It was just a weak entry for me. Can't wait for their next one though!

  • IMO, all he needs is to not be able to cancel swings (you shouldn't be able to rectify mistakes to the point where the mistake is non existent).

Its worse than Legion but with all the downsides of Legion nullified.

  • Yea, the hook changes IMO are the worst. At least for me. I've had so many matches ALREADY where I'm fresh hooked & its clearly over, ya know the drill. 1 other teammate remaining, maybe 2 - 1-3 gens left, the other 2 are on death hook, etc. And yet I can't do anything but sit on hook and wait. I can't sacrifice myself to give the final person a chance at hatch, I can't do anything but sit there and wait for the timer to run out, and usually by that point, the other teammate has been found, went into chase, and has already gone down.

I'm not a d/cer and I've been commended for still trying to play matches out when others have clearly given up…but man.

This absolutely sucks when you rightfully should be able to sacrifice yourself and the game is clearly over. There should be some conditions met, like if its down to you and another teammate, you should be able to sacrifice on hook.

Also Mandy full out lied about the hook changes. Surprise surprise.

sabo, pallet/flashlight saves, the whole power struggle / boil over insanity, surv crawling out and hiding, most good faith snowball / slugging cases (organic caused by survivor misplays that arent misplays anymore thanks to the free UB or by killer's power like Oni/Plague).

if we want to have infinite UB, we must have basekit deerstalker and the things in bold text being deleted. until that happens, suggesting infinite UB is a ludicrous idea inviting disaster and resurrection of miserable bully squad gameplay because killers lose their ways of counteracting aggressive strategies or securing hooks from snowball.

Never listen to people like this. They will always highlight the bad on the other side but never acknowledge their own.

  • Its happened a few times to me…more so lockers than windows. B/c a lot of pallets are placed right beside lockers and sometimes it just drags your character into a locker when you're trying to activate/drop a pallet. Its pretty frustrating when it does happen however it hasn't happened recently. Do decently well in chases but when it does occur, damnit is it annoying lol.

if you cant stay in tiles for as long as possible, loop tight and not lose 50s against at least some of the ghouls to get minimal good chasetime, you're not good at the game, im sorry, this isn't the problem of the ghoul and this absolutely isn't something that justifies give up sabotaging

Your post is a whole bunch of nothing. Just an insult.

You're the typical person who excuses bad killer design and blames people for criticizing it. Thanks for making my point.

  • @SpringMyTrap said:

yeah, you make a good case why anti go next system should have happened, sold.

Skull merchant was always a skill issue killer except her 3 gen strat that wouldve been nuked w/o need for DCing. Any person who understood her mechanics was perfectly capable of beating her. She wasn't the most fun thing to face, but she was never op. People kept giving up vs her for a year straight after the 3 gen was effectively gone. Just for the sake of the meme at this point.

Ghoul is a killer weaker than blight because you can loop him and people would rather give up than actually improve at looping. It's not the most fun killer to face because of free hit and his catch up power, but it's far from the worst. Maybe he is still OP, maybe he is not, we wouldn't know until people get forced to play vs him enough to improve.

People DC anytime they get resistance and have to adjust their playstyle / learn to face new thing. Or because they dont feel like playing. Or because they think it's "funny". Or because the game didnt go well.

They lost their privilege to express their voice because they abused it.

Devs now know better that people need to be forced to play the game they signed up for and if there's a genuine problem, they would have to suck it up and cry about it on forums until stats proving them being wrong build up. This is the only way to get proper feedback from this entitled and crybaby audience.

    Congratulations!

Lost your credibility when you started to defend Ghoul. If you defend that hideous thing of a killer in its current state, you're clearly a biased player and will excuse any killer that is either not fun to play against or completely unfair. People play video games to have fun & escape from reality, and since there isn't any ranked mode, thats all that matters.

I love how you call people bringing up valid criticism on specific killers as being crybabies but your entire post has been a complaint post about those types of players.

Wish we could go back to looking at it from both sides but a lot of people really make their bias known.

I have no problem with Kaneki as long as they remove his free hits & his ability to cancel swings. If you get outplayed and swing in a direction while the survivor doubles back and reverses pathing on you, you should be outplayed. You shouldn't be able to fix your mistake by cancelling a swing and immediately being back on the survivor's tail w/o any downside. This has happened a lot.

  • I salute you sir/ma'am. Thank you for not conforming. Glad there's still people like you around.

    hqdefault.jpg
  • So I got 1 crow on me last night in a match cause I was staring at my 3 teammates across the map intentionally go down and try to get on hook so they can go next. I wasn't moving my character at this point and after about 15 seconds or so, my character got a crow. So I started running around, still 1 crow. Ran to a gen, got on it, got the 2nd crow. 5 seconds after getting 2nd crow, all crows vanished.

So seems there is a delay to getting rid of them, where as I thought it'd be instant. Or that as soon as I start 'interacting', I at least wouldn't be able to get another crow.

I do think its way too easy to get a crow now, I mean I was standing still for only a few seconds and it took much longer to get rid of the crows b/c of the 'interacting' rule.

  • They timed this pretty horribly honestly.

IDK why they decided to bring in a brand new banning/penalty system on TOP of the FNAF chapter when a ton of new players typically pick up the game (its heavily discounted as well right now).

How they even released it in this current state, is another question. They never bothered explaining how it works or what constitutes a penalty & that was a big big red flag.

  • I would love this, lol (think most would).

there is simply no map where you will last <20s in your very first M1 chase, let's stop making excuses just to avoid learning chases. Even on Vecna's map you can literally last 60s+ in your first M1 chase.

If anyone is going down in less than 20 seconds at the beginning of a trial, its 100% a skill/experience factor.

    Ignore their excuses.

  • Ignore the downvotes btw. This is a killer popular forum, a lot of people will just downvote cause you're against their side. They won't counter anything you say, they'll just downvote. Which says all you need to know.

Ghoul is still bugged. The fact he can still use his power on the other side of a window vault, apply DW, vault the window all in one, and then immediately go for a M1 says everything you need to know about the killer. Pretty clear BHVR didn't add any substantial nerfs to this killer for a reason.

I don't know a single player that actually enjoys Ghoul gameplay/counter play.

edit: agreed - 2v8 was a good reason to que up just to avoid Kaneki.

I recently 100%'d Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 & The First Berserker: Khazan.

Expedition 33 better win GOTY, just sayin.

On the multiplayer side, I have DbD, R6S & GTA RP but its pretty stale right now.

I've also been dabbling in some Star Wars BF2 cause I miss that game & its 10x better than most games out right now. I really hope they make a BF3 (they hit a record high of over 140k recently and the game came out 7+ years ago, pretty crazy).

tbh I didn't experience much of that and the few times I did as long as people played against Legion like you're supposed to (hold W into a corner to avoid frenzy, made easier due to the larger maps and plentiful resources) and played around their class strengths it wasn't too bad. If the Oni was decent it could still go south quickly due to the power gauge bug but it was still way more fun than the main mode.

Almost wish they made 2v8 permanent at this point.

Oni/Legion wasn't a gamebreaker for me either. In fact, no combo was. I escaped 90%+ of the time, even matches where I was death hook'd at 5 gens still remaining. 2v8 was a lot more relaxed & not as frustrating.

1v4 really highlights the problems, primarily the teammate quality b/c you've only got 3 others and not 7.

2v8 should be permanent or at the very least, occur more often. We don't get it as often and its the most popular 'game mode' by far, IMO.

  • Always nice to see a truly wholesome post, regardless of side :)

    Happy birthday!

2v8 is the only mode where you feel like you have a chance to win in solo Q surv. Normal 1v4 is full of killers who believe they are versing Eternal on their winstreak. 2v8 is just way more forgiving & fun. I don't blame you cause I've done it too, lol.

I wouldn't mind 1v4 as much if survivors actually played to win every game but thats not how it goes, sadly.

Its not like any of us are saying 'oh the first thing a survivor does wrong, I should be able to go next and leave the match'.

    You would be surprised.

I know there are a lot of people like that..I know. I strictly solo que surv. To those people I do hope the 'go next' system kicks in and penalizes them. Thats why I mentioned it. I despise those types of players.

  • @RJoyYourJoy19 said:

I'll just burn the luck offering and kill myself. If that gives me a DC penalty I'll let the killer pick me off a gen the moment I'm off the hook. You can't force people to play a match they don't wanna play and everyone who is celebrating these changes is in for a rude awakening.

Pretty based take, I'm leaning towards it too atm. The 'go next prevention' really hurts the more experienced survivor players, as its pretty clear when a match is over or your team isn't trying to win/doing everything but gens/going down in 10 second chases, etc.

Whenever I load into a match, I always play to win. Its not like any of us are saying 'oh the first thing a survivor does wrong, I should be able to go next and leave the match'. Its a combined # of problems throughout the match.

The fun comes in the form of a coordinated team, or teammates that want to win just as much as I do vs a killer that also wants to win and play effectively. And when it all comes together, the matches are good!

But I shouldn't be forced to sit in a match when I have teammates that waste my time, don't play to win, meme around, do everything but whats needed.

IDK about others but 99% of the time I've ever wanted to or have 'gone next', its been due to my teammates and not the killer (minus Skull Merchant meta). Its not just annoying to have teammates that are lower caliber or don't play to win, but also just plain frustrating.

And if your rationale is 'well why don't you get together in an SWF and then you fix all those problems?' No I shouldn't have to. I like solo que and the idea I'm paired with strangers who come together to win. Without voice chat. Without call outs. Without anything cheap to rely on besides in-game mechanics and tools. I shouldn't be forced to go SWF b/c I want teammates to play the game properly.

I don't blame people that want to meme or mess around - as long as they don't blame me for 'going next' b/c I don't want my time wasted.

  • Pretty underwhelming honestly on both sides. Played only 2 matches as him but wasn't really enjoying it. Will give some more feedback later.

As survivor, the teleport feature is pretty cool & useful but I found myself wasting quite a bit of time trying to find ST and get that team-wide aura on him via the cameras. Going against his power, I found it ..a bit too easy & predictable. Plays very similar to the Huntress.

I was just expecting..more. Something new/different from all the others.

  • Wraith main. Basically spread pressure, get 2-3 at least injured at the very start. A spread pressure Wraith is a lot harder to deal with than a Wraith that just picks a target and sticks on them till they're down (you're likely to lose doing this as Wraith).

If they choose to ignore healing to do gens, they lose faster as the snowball effect comes into play. Especially as resources are destroyed and dead zones are created. Always try to get healed when facing a Wraith. People that don't heal vs him, screw their teammates over a lot.

  • There isn't.

They also don't go into specifics on how this system is going to analyze you and determine if you're 'going next'. There are a lot of variables/factors and leaving it to an automated system is more likely than not to come with lots of flaws.

Hopefully this system works properly but I have a really bad feeling it won't.

  • My 2v8 matches net me on average about 200k, with minimum being like 150k. I'm already back up to like 3.4 or 3.5 mil and I got tired of spending it to just spend it. So yea, def a different experience here, lol. They really need to add a 1-50 1-click option for the bloodweb. So tedious & clunky. But yea, I definitely liked the previous 2v8s more as well.

I mean Legion in 2v8, to be clear, I agree with you re 1v4

Oh, I meant 2v8. I think Legion is annoying and cheap but nothing in comparison to Ghoul.

I think Ghoul is 10x worse. Map mobility, broken/bugged mechs, unbalanced power (that nerf patch did nearly nothing to him).

  • IDK man, I'll take Legion over Ghoul right now. Legion doesn't have any crazy unfair mech, he's just annoying & you gotta accept that you'll be mending a lot.

Ghoul is broken, has unfair mech, can apply deep wound from the other side of a vault/window, vault it (while you're frozen from the stun) and then immediately down you.

  • +1 without hesitation.

One of the many killers that seems to be forgotten by BHVR (trapper when?).

in The Pig Comment by Volcz
  • 50/50 honestly. I thought Oni/Legion would be a lot worse but the #1 problem that plagues this game, not just in this game mode, but in general - are survivors/teammates.

From not doing gens, going down upon the match starting in a less than 10 second chase, people just speedrushing saves for altruism points, to leaving someone on the hook at EGC whose been hooked for the first time, etc.

I'm enjoying this more than the basic default game mode atm. But this event could have definitely been done better.

  • The biggest BS I've seen with him is when he uses his power on a survivor on the opposite side of a window/vault. He gets his power off & vaults the window all in 1, while the survivor is frozen from the stun effect initially. Leaves the survivor with no way to do anything & just instantly go down, lol.

I'm kinda over assuming the worst in people these days (usually) so I won't comment on that first bit. But on killers getting tools, I would love to see how forcing survivors to spend a few seconds doing an animation to leave the match (and perhaps adding resources within exit gates to account for ranged killers and such), ARC Raiders style, would change things up. You'd see a lot less BM at the gates if everyone had the Wesker/Deathslinger/Houndmaster ability to interrupt escapes.

100% agree w that. Thats something that COULD work if done the right way. It would definitely curb a lot of survivors just waiting at gates. Giving killers a tool like an 'EGC power' would be really welcoming, as long as it didn't hinder survivor's experience.

I think a EGC power for killers would be great, but then again, should every killer have that tool? (for ex, if you're running a purely end-game build- your power comes online essentially at the end game). And how do you go about balancing who and what build should have that power?

Would also be more work for BHVR as they'd have to create an animation for every killer to have this 'EGC power'.

IDK man, there's so many factors.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Before the abandon feature I would normally disagree and say who cares, but you actually do bring up some valid points regarding that topic. There is almost a double standard there regarding that didn't exist prior to the abandon change. I say almost because I think being slugged & humped for 4 minutes straight with no way to avoid it was worse than having the agency push survivors out the gates.

I don't know what they could even do about that though. I think it would hit better psychologically if survivors simply died on the ground when abandoning in an abandon situation, instead of basically all but forcing the killer to also abandon when everyone turns into a bot. I don't think giving the killer the ability to abandon during the EGC would be a good idea, and I think they're very opposed to making the endgame deadlier for survivors given what they've tested internally in the past.

There's absolutely no way to do an EGC 'abandon' feature when there's so many variables. It'd be abused and taken advantage of, quickly. The people mainly proposing it are ALL ego driven, disingenous and don't want to deal with the outcome of a match.

Somehow they equate having to face survivors at the EGC to survivors being bled out/humped with nothing to do. I'd be all for killers getting tools. If it makes sense. This makes 0 sense, lol.

  • B/c you signed up to a match to see it through, you're able to actively move around and still use your power, you can still catch survivors not near gates, etc. Just b/c your ego gets hurt is not a valid reason to end/exit a match (goes both ways).

I haven't seen anyone calling a person who just want a surrender feature "sore loser", plenty of people would feel quite opposite, and oftentimes those who go against it (surrender feature) would be called sore winner

So I'm supposed to just follow along and not call a spade a spade, just b/c others don't?

The reasons proposed for this feature are just flat out, disingenuous and incredibly biased. There's almost no objectivity.

    • survivors can hide and run out at the last 5 seconds of EGC - legit 1% of the playerbase does this. Most people don't do this. Again, acting like this is the norm in your matches, is just a straight up lie to get people on your side.
    • survivors can be pushed out but I don't want to face them at the gates for w/e reason - you're playing a pvp game where 1 side loses and 1 side wins. Sometimes you lose. Whats so difficult about pushing people out of a gate?

Survivors legitimately have no option when they're forced to bleed out. I'd be all for killers getting an abandon feature, if it made sense. This does not make sense.

This is just a 'scream for the feature despite not having any logic behind it' type thread.

It's funny how your post can be understood both ways: you berating killers or survivors without you clarifying which is the case.

Oh let me clarify. Killers. Not everyone, just the ones defending this or trying to get this implemented, knowing full well, it makes 0 sense and they just want it for selfish/ego reasons. Not saying survivors are any better, I will call them out just the same (& I have, in the past). But this right here, this is just stupid.

  • @ChuckingWong said:

A change like this would just set a precedent of being able to leave when something is not in your favour and you want to give up.

Thats essentially what this change is, you not wanting to play once the exit gates are powered.

Eventually people will then ask to abandon because there is 1 gen left, or 2, or 1 hook for several minutes etc…

Exit gates powered =/= the game is over.

If you dont like tbagging in an unfavorable scenario, apply that to the entire match, and emotionally grow.

The abandon feature on survivor was changed due to gameplay stalling issues not emotional problems.

These people don't care about precedent or how unhealthy for the game it is.

You hit it on the nail, this is a thread for sore losers to band behind.

Just tell me they don't care about game health. All these people care about is their own ego.

  • @indieeden7 said:

Really don't see why people are against this?? I'm sure OP is aware that even if the exit gates are powered, they still have the potential to get kills, however if a killer has already had a rough match, and feels as though they're just going to be delaying an inevitable loss, then why shouldn't they be able to just get the match out of the way?

I'm sure everyone here already knows that a decent part of the community feels the need to rub every little mistake that other players make in their face, both killers and survivors, and I don't see why EITHER side should have to suffer through that really. Again, killers can obviously force survivors out of the exit gates but at the end of the day, the match result would still be the same if they abandoned.

When survivors are downed, they have no other option besides crawling around/bleeding out via the timer.

When survivors power the gates & wait, killers can push them out. Some have brought up the whole 'well they can hide around the map and wait for the last few seconds of EGC' - you're right, they can. But you're talking about the 1-5% of teams, most people are queing up by themselves or with 1-2 friends & they do not do this. Acting like this is the norm is just straight up, a lie.

Honestly, this just sounds like something sore losers get behind. As soon as the match is lost (at least to them), they want to quit b/c they don't want to face the survivors at the gates.

Whether they be 'toxic' or not. They just want the option to abandon when they lose (gates are powered) & their ego gets hurt.

It makes sense on one side. It makes 0 sense on the other for the situation you propose. Completely disagree as someone who 50/50s both roles nowadays. This is primarily a tool for sore losers.

Yeah people need to split up when there's an Oni. He's constantly in power in my games.

Can attest to this as I played Oni for the first match. Was 70-80% of the match, in power. Hell, there were 3 downs I got with my power, and I was almost immediately able to go back into Blood Fury..back-to-back-to-back.

As for survivor, not too bad so far..I faced an Oni/Legion & just decided to go next. My next 3-4 matches were all pretty fair in terms of match ups besides that. Only other gripe is people not doing gens and just snowballing the match early for the killers (just had a match where the killers got 5 hooks before a single gen completed).

    Only the first day though.
