  • I'm glad to see everybody standing up for the colorblind players along with these crap aura reading changes. I'm hoping they revert this change quick in a hotfix while they work on refining these new auras.

  • Dear lord their awful. Can barely see hooks and gens, my bbq has been rendered completely useless as I can't see a single aura. And what little I can see is my 10x worse on Mount Ormound, the auras are straight up worse than they were when the map came out. I really don't know what you guys were thinking with this? Did you even test the aura changes at all?

  • What I'm legit wondering now is if Julie is remembering the killing differently than what is actually written. Like in her head she stabbed him in the face without hesitation while what really happened was she was scared in the moment so she closed her eyes when she stabbed him.

  • I just remembered the last one I forgot. I think out of all the infected in Left 4 Dead, the witch would make the most since as a Killer in DBD. Not sure how her gameplay would work, but I bet the devs could make it work.

Alot of people always talk about they want "The Thing" added to the game but it'll never happen cause a deception killer simply wouldn't work. Would like to see a killer implement fire as their power, with them recharging their power from the flaming barrels scattered around the map.

  • I never realized how much I would kill for Shaun from Shaun of the dead to be in this game.

That said I'd really like an Evil Within Chapter with Sebastian Castellanos as the survivor and The Keeper as the killer. Considering the Keeper was playable in one of the DLC's of the first Evil Within, they'd already have something to base his gameplay off of.

I'd also like an Outlast Chapter added to game, killer only. With Chris Walker as the killer since he's so beefy and strong. But I'd also be okay with Richard Trager or the Walrider. Wouldn't make sense to have a survivor in an outlast chapter since you never see the faces of the 3 protagonists of the franchise.

I'd also love to see an "Until Dawn" Chapter with Hannah as "The Wendigo" with anyone could be the survivor but the best pick for a survivor would have to be "Jack Fiddler" also known as the Flamethrower guy who SPOILER get decapitated by canon in the game.

  • Easily the new Lery's Memorial Institute. I had no problems surviving old Lery's. I have no problems on Hawkins or the Game. But this map just ticks me off to no end. I survive maybe 1/20 games on Lery's, and I know everytime I play on this map its gonna be a Depip and I'm not gonna have fun. Sometimes I DC outright the moment I get it and alot of times my friends gotta convince from doing so otherwise. If I'm gonna depip regardless on this horrible map its gonna be on my terms rather than waste time on a bad match. Keep in mind, I'm Rank 1 every season and Have 2,000+ hours and I still hate this map with a fiery passion.

Isn't blindness listed on the cage effects in the dbd wiki?

It is not dude. The blindness status effect means you cannot see any auras, not people on the ground, not aura reading perks like Object, bond or empathy. Not people on the hooks but you do see the initial hook, and now I'm wondering if blocks the white auras of cages of atonement.

  • So anybody saying to want to opt out of facing pc players because of hackers is honestly just chicken of facing PC nurses and Huntresses. I've never encountered a PC hacker.

  • I've played this game around 2100+ hours between Xbox and PC and ironically the one hacker I've come across was on Xbox, a Hillbilly with speed hacks.

  • @BabyCameron10 said:

I would love to see aftercare get a slight buff to where you get a healing speed increase on survivor who are under the effect of the perk. Still love the perk.

I love aftercare its such a great solo perk. An increase to healing speed would be nice. Have you ever tried running it with Botany Knowledge?

@VentingSylar it was moved because it was in the wrong sub category.

I put it in General Discussions cause it would give my idea the most exposure. The "Feedback and Suggestions" sub section of this forum is from my experience largely ignored. 7 pages of "Feedback and suggestions" and only 1 dev response. Meanwhile General discussions receives tons of acknowledgement and responses. Just my personal opinion.

  • I'd also like to know why my thread was moved @MandyTalk maybe a message?

  • Any means necessary. It needs buffs. I've suggested an improvement but so far it has been ignored.

At that point its just a change for the sake of changing something. The perk isnt really ment to be used mid chase, but rather when your NOT being chased by the killer.

That's why I didn't suggest changing the 4 seconds. I'm just saying the people in this thread are saying its too long

  • I filled it out. Good luck on your paper

Im pretty sure they made it take 4 seconds so people couldnt stun a killer, lift it up and stun em again before the killer could move.

Yeah that's why I initially didn't suggest changing the 4 seconds, that said alot of people have given their feedback and think it should be 3 or 3.5 seconds which isn't a huge change mind you.

  • I've seen the devs and community managers be a little more active lately. @Peanits what do you think of my idea, there's been lots of great feedback in this thread and I'd love for my design idea and the feedback from everyone here be considered and hopefully sent to the design team. Read through, you'll like what you see. :D

  • We need to bump this thread up. I'm not letting it die till the Devs acknowledge it. At there's been tons of great discussion and feedback in here.

Damn you really hate niche perks? Guessing you always use Sprint Burst/Borrowed Time/Unbreakable/Decisive Strike in every game you play as survivor?

People like niche perks. They feel rewarding when you pull them off BECAUSE they aren't as good as the meta perks. People are free to have fun with whatever perks they want.

Plus, buffing these perks that aren't that good would be good for the game because maybe we'd finally get variety instead of the 4 survivors bringing 4 Decisive Strikes, 3 Dead Hards, 3 Adrenalines, 2 Unbreakables, 2 Borrowed Times and 2 Sprint Bursts. Personally as killer I LOVE seeing weird/interesting perk builds that survivors have used in the post-game lobby, though that rarely happens.

For me I love niche perks. AMN is no better or worse than unbreakable. Its not always gonna see use but when you do get to use it, especially multiple times, it feels great!

  • Its getting lonely in this thread :(

  • Also where the heck are the devs in all honestly? They haven't responded to a single post in a while. :/

  • There's only a few things that make me tunnel. Head On Stuns, Flashlight saves, and D-Strike when I didn't even tunnel them off hook.

  • Lots of great opinions and feedback in here which is what I like to see.

Lot of people think that resetting a pallet should be either 3 or 3.5 seconds so alot of people agree its currently too slow even though I personally don't mind 4 seconds.

People are divided on the aura reading range, some people think 128 metres is fine while others prefer the 60 metres or less.

Some people are okay with a 90 second cooldown while a good number of you think it should be less.

Lots of great feedback for @Peanits and the dev team to use.

Come on in people, keep the conversation going! :D

Getting the killer to leave a pallet up for 4 seconds isn't that hard. Your comparison of BT to a double pallet stun every couple of minutes is hilarious. Any Means Necessary shouldn't be a staple perk, it should fill a niche effectively(like Autodidact or Deliverance) and imo a reduced cooldown and limited aura reading is exactly what it needs to accomplish this goal. Basically, a perk doesn't need to be staple to be appealing and see use(like Boil Over and MoM). Don't you agree?

Omg thank you. I told the guy the same thing in my reply. Not every perk has to become the next dead hard or Decisive Strike.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

    100/90/80 second cooldown

    Aura reading of 20/40/60 meters

The animation should take 3 seconds instead of 4.

I could be down for that. Good feedback. DEVS TAKE NOTES

  • @Raptorrotas said:

Just here to point out that 128m range is nearly "global" on most maps, thats why they made bond work like that too.

    Don't you mean Empathy?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I can already see the different uses this can bring to the table.

it'll be possible to use it to locate your next looping area.

and could also be used to know where that survivor is getting chased.

I've always been a fan of this perk. I've equipped it many times. but usually. if it gets used in a match. it's either because a survivor dropped a pallet by mistake (or was a scared potato). or the killer kept a pallet up because it's very unsafe and can be mind-gamed easily.

I'm always up for changes that can reduce the gap between SWF and soloQ. (if you don't understand. I dropped that pallet in the house that has a little basement. the killer didn't break it. pick it up when u can)

the 128 range is okay. considering it only shows dropped pallets. which in most cases gets destroyed soon after.

what I'd suggest is to reduce the time to pick the pallet up by half a second. the reason the devs nerfed it from ptb is that it could give the killer a double stun (pallet save, pick up the pallet, then a pallet stun). but that 4 seconds duration is pretty long. and i feel like if it becomes 3.5 secs with that additional buff you suggested. it'd be a 100 times better.

Not a bad idea. 3.5 seconds is just slight enough of a change for it to be okay. Glad alot of people like the idea of "Pallet Empathy". I love this perk. It helps me save a game from potatoes who throw pallets for no reason and capitalize on killer mistakes. I had one game the pig tree pallet was thrown but not broken so I got to use that again.

  • Thank you. Keep the feedback coming people

  • And I'm not the only one who uses it lol, so does @Onyx_Blue. There's literally dozens of us.

  • I'm not saying realism, I saying keeping the survivors grounded. There's a reason there's no perks that give invisibility yet. Perks are in the game to give advantages not super powers. Instantly lifting a pallet back up when you're a tiny asian girl like feng min is just too out there for me personally. But I appreciate your feedback on reducing the amount of time it takes to reset a pallet. I disagree with it but I understand it.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Sounds as useless as it is right now to be honest.

Pallet pick up animation must be INSTANT (if you try to go for a double stun you risk getting hit/downed through the pallet) otherwise it will never be strong or fun enough to replace ANY meta perk OR decently strong perks.

Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Iron Will, Sprint Burst, Prove Thyself, Kindred, Inner Strength etc etc etc

Why should you instead pick a perk that lets you pick up a pallet (IF THE KILLER DOESN'T BREAK IT STRAIGHT AWAY) a few times per match and requires you to stand still for 4 seconds?

Well some people (Like me) like niche perks like this. Not every perk has to be the next dead hard meta perk, and this suggested buff isn't supposed to make it that. Just a suggested quality of life update for it. Look at unrelenting, not the most appealing killer perk but if you're new and miss swings alot it can be very helpful. Same with Windows of Opportunity. I like it cause with SWF location callouts its pretty useful but its held back by its unnecessarily long cooldown and having to track down downed pallets which is time consuming. Giving Aura Reading on downed pallets would make it more appealing for solo players.

And no you can't make resetting pallets instant for 2 reasons. Claudette ain't trapper, she not someone who can just lift a pallet instantly, and it would give no counter play for killers. Its 4 seconds in my eyes for a reason so killers have time to still break it, but if they get stupid and try to mind game it while I'm resetting they're gonna eat another stun.

Personally I think it would be better off with a cooldown like Saboteur's 90/75/60. But some people might find that too strong. Hence why I suggested 120/110/90. Personally I'd like to see both cooldowns be tested.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/153473/a-suggested-buff-for-any-means-necessary

Seems like really nice buff to a very situational perk.

Because then you wouldn't have to waste your time to look for any drooped pallets on the map

Thank you. I hoping one of the community managers sees my idea so it can be sent to the design team.

  • @Onyx_Blue said:

I use this perk all the time. However, giving aura reading of a dropped pallet within the range makes it seem like it treads on the toes of Windows Of Oppertunity a bit. I would love the score event for resetting a pallet, but I don't think it needs the aura aspect.

Yeah but windows of opportunity shows standing pallets and vaults. at a shorter range. This suggestion means it would only show downed pallets at a long range to reduce the amount of time it takes to find downed pallets. Right now I love this perk as I usually rely on swf location callouts to find downed pallets and this would cut down on time significantly and make it usable for solo players aswell.

  • Tbh I've never been bothered that it takes 4 seconds to reset a pallet. Makes it feel real at least to me since it is lifting a heavy pallet. Plus would make worthy of a 300 point score event for survival

Nice to hear to some feedback though

  • Come on people. I want a discussion. I want feedback!

  • Keep the feedback coming people. I dream to actually have this forwarded to the design team.

I think if anything, the only way they could really buff it is just make it so you get maybe 500 bloodpoints each pallet you pick up, i think that would be a very simple and balanced change they could do to the perk.

I mean it should be getting that at minimum, but for what category? Survival or boldness? You don't think a 2 minute cooldown is too much for such a weak perk?

  • @Huff said:

Ace in the Hole already allows you to exit the match while keeping the addons, even if they removed that capability from before. The same way they made Stake Out retain the old great skill check progression bonus. It would be quite ridiculous if people could farm syringes and BNPs and take them out into other games. It's already pretty crazy that you can get purples, like that one key addon that lets you keep the key when you die, or a styptic agent to just randomly tank a hit during the trial.

Sure but how often do you even see ultra rare add-ons in matches? And are they really that significant to the matches outcome? For me I never notice them these days except the occasional loot build. Hardly anyone runs ace in the hole, how many times have you seen it used in a match? The slight buff of adding ultra-rare add-ons isn't going to suddenly result in 4 brand new parts every game. It just makes the perk slightly more enticing for the average survivor.

  • @KettleWettle said:

It doesn't need to be an Exhaustion perk because it's already a very very situational perk and most of the time i have it equipped, i barely even get to use it because 95% of the killer's usually kick it. I just don't think it needs to be, it would just hurt the perk and wouldn't be worth running.

Then what do you suggest to buff it? And what is your opinion of it not giving any bloodpoints for resetting a pallet?

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Since when is anything in DBD logical? That argument is a nonstarter.

That's fair. I'm mostly just want to discuss suggested buffs for the perk. What do you think would help this perk be picked more? And what is your opinion of it not rewarding any points for resetting a pallet?

  • I think the real question that should be asked is why are there no points given for resetting a pallet? No boldness points, or survival. At the very least it should reward 500 boldness like saboteur does for resetting a pallet. Or 300 survival like self care.

  • @boboca said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1280556#Comment_1280556

They probably have tested a shorter cooldown and decided it would be too powerful, but I agree the 2 min cooldown is too long. But at least the cooldown only applies if you complete the action (unlike saboteur)

Yeah but they also said gearhead in the Deathslinger PTB was too strong when it was already a hilariously weak perk.

  • I'd like to point out I suggested as an exhaustion perk cause I don't why lifting a heavy pallet wouldn't exhaust you. But for gameplay purposes its probably better off with a 60 second cooldown

  • @Huff said:

I personally think it would be a decent perk if it had a lower cooldown like you're suggesting, as it wouldn't be necessarily OP when the killer can just kick safe pallets to negate the perk. I just don't think tying it to exhaustion is a good idea. A lot, or I guess all of the exhaustion perks pretty much will help somebody gain distance from the killer, and if you become exhausted using AMN and aren't able to use a life-saving perk as a result, it probably wouldn't be that popular. Ya know, since exhaustion perks that exist as of now are already really popular.

Yeah I suppose it was misguided idea on my part. I more so just wanted the 40 second cooldown exhaustion perks have to be on AMN. If anything I started this thread to get the conversation going on this perk that I've recently come to love but the perk itself needs love and a discussion on buffing it is always good.

  • @boboca said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1280547#Comment_1280547

I agree it should have a shorter cooldown, but not exhaustion, IMO. Imagine not being able to reset a pallet because you used you Sprint Burst? It would make it a worst perk than it is rn...

I mean that's a fair criticism. Maybe I'm a little biased cause I never use exhaustion perks other than for archive challenges. It def needs a shorter cooldown. 60 seconds like saboteur wouldn't be that bad.

  • @boboca said:

because it has its own cooldown

Well alot of people on here saying its too weak to be an exhaustion perk. So why in the hell does it have a 2 minute cooldown for something so weak? You honestly thing its a strong enough perk to justify a 2 minute cooldown?

  • @Azterikk said:

I think it should, but instead of going towards boldness it should go towards survival points, as there are already a ton of scoring events for boldness

Honestly I'd be down for either. But it would be nice to have another perk to get survival points with

  • I remember one dev stream they were talking about changing the perk. Would love an answer from @Peanits or @Almo on if they ever considered making it an exhaustion perk. Or if there's any plans to at least decrease its unnecessarily long cooldown or give it some kind of added benefit to the perk.

  • @Peanits @Almo Would love to hear an opinion from either of you on what you think about an Ace in the Hole buff, given with the recent changes to toolboxes, and item retention.
