14% is probably too much, 12% would be a good middleground to try i think.

i think they should just go to 10% and make this hex into reverse undying - regardless of what totem is broken, thrill of the hunt goes out last.

and then work from there and see if the 10% is good enough or not.

  • 46 seconds to cleanse first totem isnt healthy, sorry.

whatabout, just run x logics don't apply here because it's not even ambiguous. that stuff is broken and it's just funny how minor that 4% buff looked in the patchnotes when in reality it nearly doubled the impact of the perk.

  • Ive been saying this from the start.

I was only wrong about me being petty enough to slug for 4k & bleed people out, etc just to get the mori. Nah, Im not, but as surv that's been my common experience.

Can we just make it so "finisher mori" is something you're allowed to do once you've got like 6-7 hook stages so you can do that at any point. Oh no, the tunnelling at 6-7 hooks and bypassing flashes and saves, so awful, at least the game wouldn't suck so badly later.

genuinely give me tips because HOW!

If i do bad my first time stalking the survivor Knows and just goes to LOS blockers, the genuine only way i get kills is from bringing addons, but my bloodpoints are looking a little iffy…

you play like lore accurate myers and just hide well.

stalk from max range, try to approach from weird angles, take cover, etc.

it's less consistent, but when you get it to work, it's so much easier.

and im not being hostile in any way towards you.

    …

i dont really value the opinion of the guy

yeah, thank god you arent in charge here.

Your tone is disproportionate to mine, as I've said such harshness is not needed. I've kept the discussion civil and respectful.

your decisionmaking will not the game better for a lot of players me included.

Which decision-making? I don't see any propose changes I've made towards Singularity nor any other killer in this specific thread. I was mentioning a playstyle that can be done with current Singularity, and that I happen to really like. That is it. That is all I've said.

As for posting gameplay, it never works the way it should. I understand what you are saying, but when it is done to prove a point it is often dismissed with excuses.

You come into this thread and support the bad changes by saying that you dont like the playstyle that would be discouraged by the changes proposed in this thread and that you like the playstyle that would be discouraged by the changes proposed in this thread. You are very much voicing a mindset that I called would be bad for this game's design if that was ever to be applied.

as for posting gameplay - not posting gameplay leads to pointless discussions like this.

I wouldn't care so much about gameplay if the OP was giving valid argumentation why they disagree and they don't.

They dont give proper arguments, they dont acknowledge when they have been proven wrong.

They keep appealing to the fact I allegedly ignored their questions (I in fact did not) and dismiss any reasonable thought or idea given to them if they even bother to acknowledge that in the first place. Simple example - they entirely ignored and refused to acknowledge the window tech counterplay (staying still after fastvault to force TP to stay behind the window) which trivializes Singularity's power whenever you're near windows and forces him to mindgame you like m1 killer. Why? Because it breaks their narrative about zero counterplay. Acknowledging there's counterplay to overclock would imply being infected isn't that big of a deal as they make it out to be and this is simply inconceivable.

This entire discussion can be summed up by OP complaining that Singularity can immediately reinfect survivors after they use EMP and me telling them this is okay and there's a plenty of room for counterplay to the actual ability that comes after, while being kind enough to offer ways to deal with Singularity on the stage of infecting and OP is clinging HARD on the fact these ways of mitigation dont always work, while entirely ignoring the actual chase / counterplay aspect.

Can you imagine a person complaining how there's nothing you can do about Freddy teleporting to your generator and dismissing any advice you give about running away, because they do not want Freddy to teleport to gen in the first place? This is the same kind of insanity here.

Try to consider that instead of defending them because their suggestions apparently appeal to you. You are siding with a person who has zero idea of what they're talking about and who refuse to listen to reason or provide evidence to support their position. They simply yap.

exactly, they made a strong killer with all its potential oppressive power much more accessible. I think the game should have strong high skill level characters to pick up but they decided to make it was easier with an already overloaded kit.

    ——

like before I'd argue singularity is the hardest killer to pick up and one that would very much be a test of a players micro management and one i enjoyed playing against decently cause those matches that where ended as fast as a blight meant something and i could seriously respect the play for.

    ——

Now its a killer you can very much brute force a lot with and the 'counter play' is really non existent. like the balance was the killer was incredibly hard and the skill ceiling was admirable.

    ——

Overall i think my problem is this games choice to not have really high skill cap or hard characters anymore. like nurse is just a muscle memory and prediction character that gets to ignore all loop mechanics, the only thing with her is she and the rest of the roster have no transferable skills outside of game sense. i think singularities gameplay concept was very unique and added way more to the game and that skill expression didnt need to be hit like it did.

they also made this killer way more interactive and counterable by reducing overclock duration to minimal time & removing camera tech.

rn all that's accessible is the ability to just use the power, not gain any lethal value from it. if you stop focusing so much on the fact singu doesnt have to do mouse flicks to infect you, you'll notice how overclock duration is much more predictable and there's a lot of stuff you can do to counter or mitigate singularity's power.

the problem is that survivor players are still stuck in the time where singularity players struggled with going through the extra first strep before actually being allowed to use the power and it's really time to grow their skill there.

singularities being more common should with that. and if that's not the case, then there's no reason to complain either because they also nerfed the skill ceiling of this killer.

trust me, if you brought me back old soma's photo (5% haste instead of 3% we have now), overclock scaling (duration up to 8 seconds) and camera tech (instant camera CD skip that guaranteed a cross map TP), I'd do miles better than I do now.

RN I actually have to outplay survivors instead of playing my own game while they die on the background.

Disrespect is unneeded, I was not aggressive towards you.

I am agreeing, respectfully, with what was said here. I know for a fact that posting gameplay often doesn't help the discussion at all because it will most likely be dismissed immediately. I've seen it happen myself, actually. That is why I commented.

As for the other comment, I was pointing out a playstyle that I, in particular, really like: macro gameplay. Less focus on chases, more focus towards controlling the map. I've always liked that, and I know Singularity is capable of such gameplay. Never once did I state I would change him, in any way.

and im not being hostile in any way towards you.

im simply stating my honest feelings about you said: im glad you are not in charge because what you like is not what most people will like and your decisionmaking will not the game better for a lot of players me included.

macro gameplay in dbd is ultimately boring and exhausting. either to face or to face as well. it's devoid of any actual player interaction or dynamic because for survivors to give you a proper opposition in such gameplay they would have to play in swf with comms and the game would never be balanced for that.

as for posting gameplay - it's pointless to discuss anything objectively without talking about particular examples. people can call trapper OP because their only experience against him is facing memeing 10k hours trapper mains winning games without perks and thinking this is the norm

  • @Valuetown i found you a friend you'll definitely enjoy talking to

oh, forget about nuking singularity, these changes FORCE singularity in the most boring and simultaneously efficient playstyle - gen defence, because that's the only thing he'd be able to do, even if that would be much weaker bc of the pod cooldowns.

I think that is actually the most fun I have against Singularity.

I really dislike killers who are oppressive in chase. I prefer the tactical approach of controlling the map. I though that was all Singularity could do, which is the reason I bought him with Iri Shards.

    …I kinda regretted it. Kinda.

yeah, thank god you arent in charge here.

gen defence singu is the most tedious and boring kind of gameplay this killer has and this is exactly the reason this killer is so much capable of grinding solo q players into fine powder as beating gen defence bot is extremely difficult without coordination as he completely abandons 1v1 interactions and focuses entirely on resource&gen defence 1v4 gaming where survivors have no agency unless they play well as a team.

At this point, you have to be trolling if you're reading what @GeneralV and I were just talking about, and then deciding to post a comment asking me to post gameplay.

i dont really value the opinion of the guy who just came to give you moral support because you were losing the argument so bad

  • @Ghostofsnow said:

Oh i fully agree with op, i saw HUX's initial sweeping buffs and knew they'd be oppressive used right, they made a killer that can camp hooks and gen across the map, you cant hold W against and can brute force nearly any loop with his overclock mechanic that has an incredibly short cooldown and gives them haste.

    ——-

this is also the only killer that has a 100% kill rate after closing a hatch.

like put bio pods near either exit gate and boom, a survivor has literally no option. they use an emp, you know where they are and replace it if they hide. If the survivor tries brute forcing you instantly lock on them cause you're playing security guard with the cameras swapping back and fourth every 2 seconds.

    ——

the only saving grace is few people play the robot or are on console making its harder to execute.

like the emps just feel like a time waster device that's only worth it if you're getting getting rid of biopods by hooks or gens. using it mid chase is stupid 98% of the time and save you like 2 seconds in chase when you spend 30+ running to one and grabbing the thing in the first place.

what exactly did they buff about him that was a gamechanger, please tell me.

as far as im aware, they sidegraded him and made him simply easier to pick up on basic level. maybe they did something I dont know about, like they made emps take 200 seconds to print or they no longer remove infection or that overclock is a 100% hit every time. because to me it feels like they just made him not dependant on an addon to be playable and no longer a massive pain to pick up, while removing multiple strong high skill rewards like stacking overclock and camera tech.

  • though i dont really care about you 4king as singularity. you wont be able to do that for a while anyway and we arent talking about you playing as this killer, we're talking about your impotence against this killer that you put so much effort into denying.

i want you to post your survivor gameplay vs this killer so we can see what you're doing wrong.

  • @Valuetown said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3848256#Comment_3848256

Because how much gameplay would be sufficient for you? Say I posted 100 games of me 4king on singularity, you'd find some way to dismiss that.

    post it

  • That would make sense if the boons were much stronger.

I personally am content with the tame versions we have atm. medium risk & time investment, medium reward.

Insane risk insane rework perks suck to play as and against because so much hinges on that chance of them working/not working.

  • @ad19970 said:

Pretty positive the changes you suggest here would nuke Singularity into oblivion. Not being able to destroy emp'd pods and having to wait 5 seconds after placing a pod before you can slipstream a survivor would be awful, and absolutely feel awful to play as.

I guess I wouldn't be against some number tweaks maybe, like having EMP's progress a bit further on their own so you have to spend a little less time to retrieve them, and a nerf to his soma family photo addon, but other than that he seems fine to me. There is definitely some counterplay for survivors to prolong chases and waste time so other survivors can work on gens.

I also fail to see how he doesn't require much skill. He definitely has a fairly high skill floor and very high skill ceiling if you ask me. And it seems that most of the community agrees with that sentiment.

oh, forget about nuking singularity, these changes FORCE singularity in the most boring and simultaneously efficient playstyle - gen defence, because that's the only thing he'd be able to do, even if that would be much weaker bc of the pod cooldowns.

whenever people, who have not a single bit of understanding of how character functions, try to identify and fix the issues they think the character has, they end up making things so much worse.

it's like this guy was responsible for making that failed twins rework.

"How do we want to rework twins?"

"We dont want them to slug"

"okay, so what will they do?"

"I dont know, but they WILL NOT slug"

same here. this guy doesnt care what singularity will do, he just wants him NOT TO INFECT PEOPLE MIDCHASE. doesnt matter at what cost and how, he just seethes at the thought singularity is able to just get the permission to use his power without much hindrance, it's actually inconceivable

  • @Valuetown said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3847836#Comment_3847836

What does that have to do with you completely misreading the original post? 😂 Like if you would have understood the assignment then great, but giving an answer to a question of your own creation and then complaining that I'm not understanding you is Olympic level mental gymnastics. If it was just that, I wouldn't have an issue, but for you to then double down on it over and over again with, quite frankly, extremely unfunny memes meant as "gotchas" insulting my intelligence and understanding of the game is such a tasteless and rude thing to do.

it's funny how your only input in this discussion is replying with this meaningless and irrelevant nonsense instead of listening to competent people.

you cling so hard on the idea that it's somehow not fair that singularity should not supposed to just reinfect you after EMP has been used, that you completely forget that this ability is very much the core of this killer's design and that this killer is built around it.

You dismiss anything that's been told to you, because if you were to actually listen to even a single bit of that, your entire narrative would've fell apart and that would mean you'd have to confront the issue not being the killer you're so eager to complain about.

this incompetence and complete lack of understanding of the character, on top of blazing rage and refusal to listen make you a fine example of what kind of people usually tend to make complaint posts in media spaces of dbd.

  • @Valuetown said:

Soma family photo inflicts 3% hindered for 3 seconds, or only a loss of 0.36 meters if there was no hindered per slipstream. Applying deep wound only stops an anti-hemorrhagic syringe or an adrenaline play. If you think this addon is broken, then you know that you can easily reapply a pod in chase and have that affect the outcome.

Either that, or the self proclaimed singularity main who is willing to teach others how to play singularity isn't up to date on his killer's changes…

    image.png

actually hilarious reply. this guy thinks the only thing soma photo does is slowing survivor and stopping a syringe.

do you know how busted it is to be able to force an injured survivor to do a 12 second mend every time they get into your camera sight across the entire map? in close games this addon accumulates MINUTES of wasted time on mending, let that information sink into your not very open mind.

god forbid survivors dont have insta reset builds or you play antiheal on top of that.

you dont just "dont know", you have NO IDEA at all, even remotely 🤣

Why do I have to prove it to you? Who are you? And did I just complain? I just suggested this direction. What kind of evidence do you need to express your opinion? I will listen and show you what you can do. actually I'm streamer too
People have never questioned my skills, but the point is that this game is no longer fun after playing both games. Do you understand? You idiot
When asking for something, the first thing to do is to tell me what you could do if you were in the same position as me. It's a child
You pretend to be logical, telling me to do this and that as if it's none of your business, but in my experience, kids like you are the stupidest

so will you post your gameplay to prove the game's balance is broken or will you keep coming up with excuses? you're the second guy with a "thou shall not see my gameplay as thou deemed not deserving of that" attitude Im seeing today and both of you fit in the same pattern so far.

What can you do if I do that?
If it means typing a few words on the keyboard, I don't want to do that!
    Are you a developer?
And if you've been playing this game for a long time, you probably won't have that question. At most, would it have been 5,000 hours?

so you are unwilling to prove your words by showing the best kind of argument in support of your position which would be video evidence?

sounds like you need to come to terms with just not being very good at playing killer, feel free to prove me wrong though

i dont see how this question is confusing.

what's hard in showing proof of your words by giving your own gameplay example? shouldn't be too difficult to play a few killer games and record them to show how badly this game is balanced and that there's nothing a person can do to combat that.

It would be unfair shadow buff to Off the record or Dead Hard. And this 2 perks have no rights to became even stronger than they already are.

brother, this addon is not a tunnelling addon. it isnt an original pain where you instantly deep wound survivor into 2tap, it doesnt work like that.

this is one of the most obnoxious and oppressive slowdown effects in existence. it's a slowdown, a 5th gen slowdown perk with extremely high efficiency if used right.

  • The only tweak Singularity could use is Soma Family Photo being nuked from existence.

They literally need to make it into a meme addon or smth like that, bc applying deep wound on wifi isnt balanced.

  • @Langweilig said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3847855#Comment_3847855

They could add a secondary effect, that makes healing, sabotaging and gens slower by 3% for each remaining totem. Then it would be a good hex.

I agree with your point tho, I would just prefer they buff it in a more interesting way, so it can shine on its own.

yeah, i was never a fan of this perk.

i honestly dislike the concept of hexes a lot, it's not a fun kind of gambling. wish that a bunch of hex perks werent hex and balanced normally.

  • can you please post your gameplay to exemplify your thesises

  • wouldve been nice if they made thrill much weaker, but made it so it isnt a hex. current one is horrendous

it's annoying to gamble your hex protection on a hex that can be broken first.

  • If it applied a massive speed penalty on the survivor who was saved, then yeah, it could work.

If it worked on the one who SAVES, then it would be pointless and even more unhealthy.

I believe he's currently a bit too powerful when playing against him, and he can be extremely frustrating. However, I haven't played as him yet (he looks kind of silly), so I try to refrain from sharing my opinions about him too much.

he is fine atm, unless you're talking about soma family photo. that addon is in fact nuts and if OP was basing his bitching on the fact this addon exists, I would be agreeing with him that this stuff needs to be gone.

basekit singu tho, not so much. he's like a sidegrade from what he used to be where he leans more into actually interacting with survivors in chase instead of stacking 8 seconds of overclock and just guaranteeing to win every tile. overclock rn is much shorter and has a consistent timing that's very much possible to play around as it runs out just barely before he can hit the survivor. autoaim did help people to pick him up, but that hasnt done anything to make them good at using the actual power.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I think he's kind of like Nurse, in that once you master him it's ggs. You can tell who is using the auto aim and who isn't, and when you get those Singularities who absolutely stomp without using auto aim then you see what I mean.

yes, but unlike nurse there's always something you can do and interact with the opponent.

you can use EMPs to destroy cameras and cleanse infections to stop him from moving across the map, you can do a bunch of tricks to force him to mindgame you like regular m1s have, you can trade resources to consistently delay him hits and so on. it's just a matter of you being ready to match the effort and skill the opponent puts into winning.

singularity is a killer with an endless skill ceiling done right.

I never said that EMPs should permanently disable his power. If you actually would address the points I made in my original post, and not some made up bogeyman, you'd have seen that. All I am saying is that singularity's counterplay means nothing because survivors have to commit so much time for almost 0 payoff.

I don't need you to teach me anything when you can't even read the assignment correctly. Trying to call me ignorant while using memes as your main form to discredit me without any logic is actually appalling, and for you to think that that's "logic" is as equally as appalling.

now you're changing your point, apparently the issue now is how survivors have to "commit time for almost 0 payoff". which is also just a really wrong and weird way of wording "i cannot appreciate being able to chain to the tile without worrying about getting tp'ed to immediately". I guess I'll take that as you saying that you cannot argue anymore there's zero counterplay to being infected immediately after using EMP and that you actually agree you just use it at a wrong time or in the wrong way.

So now we're arguing the "time sink" and "0 payoff".

You don't have to "sink time" to get EMP if you're planning on being chased. It's a nice bonus to have, but it's perfectly okay to engage in chase without it. You should simply be mindful that Singularity's power by default prevents you from chaining tiles too far and you have to chain one tile at a time. Unless, of course, you at least try to match the effort singularity is putting into playing the game and doing the aforementioned things. But you are just a chill guy, you don't want to put some effort into merely denying killer their power to get more opportunities in chase. That's for sweaty people and you're "Better™"

However if you do, you get an actual payoff in terms of having the ability to chain further than one tile because you're able to stall the infection & teleport for long enough to enable that.

It's going to be funny to watch you come up with another barrage of excuses, too bad I would only see that tomorrow, so please use that time I give you into putting at least a bit of good faith into this discussion and reading the explanations I've benevolently given you instead of responding with another ignorant accusation, thank you. Maybe you wouldn't even have to respond with that nonsense again.

And actually try to imagine for a second that maybe you don't really have to use EMP to counter Singularity in chase. Maybe there's a reason Singularity is actually able to reinfect people in close proximity almost immediately unless they've already made distance. Maybe EMPs are meant as merely a support tool in chase and their main purpose is somewhere else like denying Singularity map presence. Maybe there's more to it, maybe the actual teleport/overclock have counterplay to them. Maybe some of it was even explained in this thread.

There’s no reason for a debate. You’ve been proven wrong this entire thread, yet denying it. What’s the point? I’ve just boiled it down at this point that you are extremely weak at looping The Singularity. Period.

Everyone has a killer they struggle with….

yeah, their entire way of arguing is just repeating the same false and irrelevant thing over and over while steering the convo away. it's kinda sad and time consuming.

that person is dedicating so much effort into complaining how they suck at preventing being infected (or, better say, at extracting value from cleansing infection in chase) and use that as an argument that singularity has no counterplay in chase, even though that thing has nothing to do with the actual chase and is more like a finisher you pull off once you've won an interaction with the killer.

Yeah reading something that doesn't make sense logically. "You can stun him and waste the distance to then break LOS to then use the EMP, but ignore the fact I didn't answer any of your points about how he can't just immediately mark you again :)"

Your posts are the meme that keeps on giving.

its actually funny how desperately you cling on not being able to permanently prevent being infected as a justification that singularity has no counterplay.

it's like crying there's nothing you can do to stop wesker from doing his dashes or prevent unknown from shooting the blob while entirely ignoring all the stuff you can do against the power being used. yeah, "that do be like that" ©. doesnt mean there's a plenty of things you can do in the actual chase, that I even described above with video example and that you conveniently ignored.

also, please look up what the word "Logically" means. My words are very much consistent in their rationale and reason.

I understand you really need to say something to sound smart, but calling things you dont like as "not making sense logically" makes you look really bad.

it's actually getting tiring to try to teach an ignorant person something if they refuse to learn and just keeping repeating the same nonsense and accusing me of nonsense, so please be a more productive and post your gameplay vs singu to prove how wrong I am and how there's zero counterplay to his power in chase. I'll be glad if you make an example out of yourself here.

You can keep responding with memes but that's not going to help your argument. Clearing your pod status does NOTHING when he can mark you again immediately. I don't see what you fail to understand about that, it's not a hard concept to grasp. Like I said in my original post, singularity players place pods around LOS, or high enough to where the LOS is a non issue. The stun being 2 seconds or 5 seconds does not matter when he can immediately mark you again.

I do know that stunning him slows him, but I fail to understand how you think that's a valid counter when the pallet breaks due to built in spirit fury, and the survivor is animation locked into the pallet throw animation for a decent portion of that slow. Like are you even reading what you're writing?

can you read? I literally spoonfed it to you. I cant dumb it down more, Im sorry

I mean I play this killer and the only thing that really works against me is breaking LoS. 🤷🏼 Your mileage may vary.

Making correct reads just means winning a mind game. That isn’t really counterplay; it’s a fundamental mechanic of the game. Lol

some killers dont even give that, they just shutdown every tile. actually, not some, a lot of them. most antiloop killers just kinda remove mindgames from the tiles or limit them so much, people stop considering them mindgames and start complaining these are just guessing games (though whats the difference)

and trust me, there's a bunch of things ppl can do apart from breaking LoS - aforementioned window tech for instance. It should be a common knowledge at this point, but most people are sadly like OP - dont even know the very basic rules the power functions let alone how to play along these rules or win by them.

You might also think the only thing that works is breaking LoS because you think the counterplay lies in preventing infection/teleport rather than in not letting singularity get the hit after that. The main counterplay is in handling the overclock rather than in preventing it. You should understand that too.

  • @Ayodam said:

He’s pretty strong. I actually play and enjoy this killer but the counterplay basically comes down to LoS blocking.

Isn’t he in like the top 5 highest kill rates now?

    not really.

the counterplay is making correct reads (aka m1 killer part of singularity) and using your positioning consciously to get maximum distance when he teleports.

breaking LoS is a secondary counterplay, just like using resources efficiently. (even though you can get by with just these two secondary things vs most pub singus bc they arent really capable of doing much than spamming TP and trying to win by removing pallets faster than survivors remove gens).

You realize stuns last like 2 seconds right? You realize slowing the killer down is perk dependent right (only 2 in existence)? You realize LOS can be negated by placing a pod around said LOS like rocks or high walls? You realize you cannot make distance if you have a pod on you because he can gap close with his power right? 2 seconds is not a valid amount of time to counter the power with an EMP. Besides, his pod has a 32 meter range to target a survivor. 2 seconds is equivalent to 8 meters of that, aka only 1/4th of the distance. At this point you are being intellectually dishonest about your main lol.

Showing your slipstream stat literally proves my point lol.

stun is "like 2 seconds" and he loses LoS and has to break a pallet.

"You realize slowing the killer down is perk dependent right (only 2 in existence)?"

    image.png

i`ll be responding with memes every time you make such a claim because I cant seriously argue against that willful ignorance.

You realize LOS can be negated by placing a pod around said LOS like rocks or high walls?

And you'll break LoS again because at this point you'll have a bunch of ######### between you and the killer. Unless of course you're playing haddonfield, in which case my condolences. It doesnt take much to move away from killer's LoS and then avoid delayed TP. Put some thought into your pathing for god's sake.

2 seconds is not a valid amount of time to counter the power with an EMP.

DbD players arguing raw math without considering how it's applied. In those 2 seconds you move away from his LoS and make a little bit of distance at which point you should've secured yourself basic LoS break. If you have gamesense to understand there's a bunch of obstacles between you and Singularity (for example you've stunned him in a jungle gym and chained to the tile nearby with tall walls), then you'll be able to channel EMP successfully and keep running if necessary, while delaying the infection.

Let me put it in very simple terms: if you stun the singularity and then dont ######### up at avoiding the single desperate attempt at getting LoS on you by throwing a camera at a normally restricted angle (if you dropped a pallet on him in any tall wall loop or managed to run off behind any tall wall cover immediately), then you get pretty much the same amount of distance you get by stunning any other killer without an ability to catch up.

All you have to do after stunning him is not run in a straight line in front of him and move to any cover and then use EMP asap.

At this point singularity is either forced to run around the pallet or break it, giving you even more distance.

And even that is not necessary, you can squeeze minutes long chases vs singularity by simply using the windows and trading pallets carefully. EMP to deny distance is just a cherry on top.

Besides, his pod has a 32 meter range to target a survivor.

what you are trying to say is that his placing and range distance combined make up roughly 32 meters (42 in fact, but in reality the effective range does add up at about 32 meters) so Im not going to make fun of you not knowing the actual numbers, however you do not account that Singularity's teleport from pod has a time delay of 0.8 seconds and the placement angle is normally very limited in such situation. Aka refer to the reply above to the comment about 2 seconds of stun being enough.

At this point you are being intellectually dishonest about your main lol

Showing your slipstream stat literally proves my point lol.

your point being that I know better? I dont remember you establishing that point, but that's what that is proving. I showed that you lack common knowledge about Singularity

you dont even know his own power slows him down if you drop a pallet on him

and despite that you throw around numbers you are incapable of understanding.

  • you're welcome.

also, try to use this little trick when running singu in tiles with windows

    https://imgur.com/a/roBoSkU

(btw this lovely game is a solo q game vs fully stacked singu with high prestige level. aka the average singularity people will meet in pubs and would be close enough in terms of skill to actually deserve to beat. we had a person kill themselves on 5 gens bc they didnt want to bother playing and within 5 minutes we got 3 gens done in 1v3. we had 2 last gens at 70-80% and wouldve won if one guy was simply playing the game. oh well, unfortunate).

you should get a feel for when singularity is not able to vault the window with overclock and will have to TP and instead of letting him TP over the window (which is usually a very close hit), you stand still after fast vaulting and do not move until he teleports, at which point you either W key or loop around the window / chain into other window. You just need to avoid falling for m1 killer fakes and you'll be fine, because you will 100% outlast overclock duration before he makes it close enough to hit you through the pallet. And then you either force him to TP again or play as M1.

It works the best in tiles with double windows - you force him to stay behind the window, loop & vault the second window and repeat the thing until he gives up on bruteforcing and tries to mindgame you.

There's no counterplay to that, he can either TP on you and give you the distance or vault the window normally which is also a win for you.

Smart survivors that use that trick make windows into borderline infinites vs singu, allowing to win a lot of time and forcing singularity to mindgame them. Which is when survivor is the one making decisions and not the killer.

Everything is wrong with this post.

placing a pod and infecting the survivor does precisely nothing except giving singularity a permission to use his actual chase power. if you are in a position where singularity can freely replace a pod to immediately infect you after you've wasted a EMP to remove the infection, while you haven't got any value out of that, then you have wasted a EMP and shouldn't have used it in this situation in the first place.

You still did not answer the places where you can remove your pod where he can't immediately reinfect you because there simply is no situation in chase where that is true. So therefore I shouldn't waste my emp because his gap closer overloaded chase power can immediately be reapplied with no cost to him? That's like playing football, being down a touchdown with 30 seconds left with the ball, but saving your timeouts for overtime (the absurdity of that statement is intended). I lose my pod if I'm hooked. I will not get anywhere if I do not emp my pod because he can immediately slipstream me. Make it make sense lol.

When he cannot immediately reinfect you like when he's stunned

This made me laugh more than anything all month. Kudos to you.

I'm not going to post my gameplay when you've done nothing but discredit yourself as a singularity main by refusing to answer any of the pertinent questions to the post.

"everything is wrong with this post"

says the person who doesnt understand the basics of the killer i played so much stats sites call me one of the best in the stats

    image.png

You still did not answer the places where you can remove your pod where he can't immediately reinfect you because there simply is no situation in chase where that is true

im sorry, i had a stroke reading this, what are you even trying to say here? again, for people who struggle with reading my previous reply - you are not supposed to consistently and permanently deny him the permission to use the power. You are supposed to be infected and play around teleport&overclock.

btw, you are using wrong terminology. nobody calls "temporal slipstream" or "Infection", "slipstream", etc as "pod", because the word "pod" is used to reffer the meatballs he's placing on walls. If you want to be understood, you might wanna call things their names.

The only time you're meant to "remove your pod where he cant immediately reinfect you" is when you have outplayed him in any way that allowed you to gain distance and break LoS for 3-4 seconds required to channel EMP. At which point you reset the chase to the point where he's trying to infect you, while you're making your way to the best tile in your area and not letting him close the gap too easily. It shouldnt be too hard to avoid pods when he's far away placing them at predictable angle. Take cover, but dont get overzealous prioritising avoiding infection over avoiding killer. It's not rocket science.

So therefore I shouldn't waste my emp because his gap closer overloaded chase power can immediately be reapplied with no cost to him?

no, you should read my replies, including the one above in this very comment and refer to the lines where I describe a very common scenario of you "outplaying the killer" (i know this probably rarely happens in your games, try to believe it can happen) and using the spare moment of relief to use the EMP and use that gap in his attack to assume a better position. That would allow you to leave a dead zone, find a better tile or simply win some more time for your team to do stuff.

it's actually funny how the game gives you a way to deny gap closer killer the ability to close gaps and you just say "nah". Billy, Blight, Spirit and other "run fast" or "tp" killers don't give you that privilege. They just do their thing with zero interaction.

That's like playing football, being down a touchdown with 30 seconds left with the ball, but saving your timeouts for overtime (the absurdity of that statement is intended).

im not reading weird false equivalencies, sorry, if you cant deliver your point otherwise, there isnt much of a point there to be delivered. Try again.

I lose my pod if I'm hooked. I will not get anywhere if I do not emp my pod because he can immediately slipstream me. Make it make sense lol.

I already made enough sense, you just need to read that in good faith instead of grasping for straws. Let me even write a simple algorithm how to use EMP in chase, specifically for you, since Im afraid just saying it again might not be enough:

    image.png

Warning: It doesnt cover every conceivable situation, but it gives you a very good general logic to follow. Unless you're a generative AI that lacks the ability to develop thoughts given to it, it should give you enough basis to work on. I believe in you!

This made me laugh more than anything all month. Kudos to you.

I'm not going to post my gameplay when you've done nothing but discredit yourself as a singularity main by refusing to answer any of the pertinent questions to the post.

ah, the excuses, as expected. "thou shall not see my gameplay as i have not deemed thou worthy of it"🤣

  • @Jacknalls_Paw said:

I also said so in a previous thread : they overbuffed it and nuked EMPs at the same time.

Once your EMP is gone you are cooked in a short time cause nothing is really effective against it: Shifting-W, Pre-dropping, Vaulting, Stunning, none of these strategies actually work, all you can do is breaking LoS but it's just a matter of time since it can spawn pods everywhere and targeting survs is auto-pilot now.

This tweet (posted some time ago as soon as it was reworked) from a Singularity main explains everything it all in brief :

    https://x.com/Zhrixxanna/status/1813297484132921542/video/1

they havent done anything of importance to EMPs in the latest update. unless you want to imply they have done something terribly wrong last year (which is very laughable imo), you're making stuff up.

3 second manual print requirement shouldnt come into play practically ever, because you'd be manually printing most of your EMPs anyway. it's actually baffling how people are still ignoring the supply crates so much, they're done printing. you should never let that happen, otherwise you won't have enough EMPs.

the other nerf was reducing the immunity duration and it barely did anything. Ive played a while of this killer, comp included, and I can recall maybe one case where it actually mattered. Otherwise, it's nonexistent. They could remove it tomorrow and nothing would change, apart from maybe giving singularity haters a placebo effect to finally start trying.

slowdown, longer cast time have all been added in june-july 2023 and were with singularity's kit pretty much since the beginning.

Please enlighten me in a situation where the singularity in chase cannot immediately recall the pod and put another one down. Oh that's right, there isn't one. (He doesn't know!!!!) I would suggest not lying about the effectiveness of your main on the forums, it's not in good taste.

oh boy, there's a lot of enlightment i'd have to do here

first of all, you are not supposed to dodge the pod. it's like saying you're supposed to be able to prevent wesker or blight from using their power altogether. And, unlike these killers, Singularity's power can actually be denied to a certain extent, which can buy you an opportunity to assume a good position and dont get cut in the open.

placing a pod and infecting the survivor does precisely nothing except giving singularity a permission to use his actual chase power. if you are in a position where singularity can freely replace a pod to immediately infect you after you've wasted a EMP to remove the infection, while you haven't got any value out of that, then you have wasted a EMP and shouldn't have used it in this situation in the first place.

here's a hint how you're supposed to use EMP in chase: when singularity cannot immediately reinfect you or when doing so will change nothing. This normally happens when you have stunned him (which is very much possible with new overclock duration) or forced a slowdown on him either of which allows you to break LoS and start building distance, at which point you're meant to spend a EMP to prevent Singularity from immediately catching up. Then, you'll be able to pass through a dead zone and reach another tile that you can play or keep W keying and avoiding pods, buying your team even more time, which is what you're supposed to do as a survivor, I hope you are at least aware of that.

we can make this even more productive and you can, idk, post your own gameplay against this killer. I'll gladly point out every single thing you've done wrong or could've done better. But something tells me you'll have an excuse why this isn't possible.

Having no counterplay = "crying their eyes out."

Some killers really just want to play a pve game where they 4k every game huh?

    image.png

small hint: if you save EMP to use them when killer cannot immediately negate its effects, there's very decent counterplay available.

also windows. learn to use them. he physically cannot TP over window if you stand still after fast vault and after that he's wasting so much time, he's basically m1 powerless killer unless he TPs again.

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

I’m P34 with him, he’s far from OP. Slipstream is not a free hit. I still have to chase you, get the hit and down IF you don’t make the window, vault or pallet and likely you will.

Singularity was the clunkiest, killer known to man and has a very high skill ceiling.

The changes made to him in the past were QOL changes. Hes was so difficult to use on console.

When I go against him as survivor with my swf we usually get out. Solo queue it’s 50/50.

The problem is and I see it ALL the time is people are wasting emps like there nothing.

“Oh! Biopod on the wall but it’s no where near a gen/objective!” uses emp

or when they waste EMP midchase in open space while the killer is behind their back with overclock up already :skull:

what do they even hope to accomplish there by slowing themselves down and not making it even remotely difficult for killer to reinfect them again

  • I like how while singularity players were spending a year and a half learning the character and getting good with not just the basics of the power (that were the ones to be trivialized by the qol update) but at actually using and controlling it to outplay and beat survivors, the survivor players are still stuck in june 2023 where you could spam EMPs and mindlessly W key + predrop and win any singu without putting any effort.

And now when the wholesome chungus killer actually turned out to be strong in capable hands, they are crying their eyes out because suddenly it's not as trivial to beat them as they thought.

sorry, pal, you're out of your league now. I suggest watching how strong players beat this killer or go ahead and play this killer yourself. Maybe you'll realize a thing or two once you get out of baby mmr.

Once again, any noob killer is generally stronger than a noob survivor, this is not an argument, imagine if there was a survivor who had only 1 hook stage, and when asked why the hell we have a survivor with 1 hook stage, let's give him 2, the killers would come running and they started saying that this is normal and this survivor doesn’t need buffs

the plague is much better at inflicting wounds + gains strength for the attempt of survivors to recover, at this time the legion is slower than an elderly lady with a dog and a cane and its wounds are many times easier to avoid

sigh, ive established my point, i dont see the reason to go in circles. have a good day.
