Fifa (or EA FC24) has had 9 patches so far since it's release at the end of September. They've nerfed the high pressure that made the centre of the pitch impossible to play through if you didn't have very low ping, they've nerfed finesse shots, they've nerfed whipped crosses, they're about to nerf absolutely broken trivela shots.
Every company that offers live content balances their game every so often. COD, Warzone, Fortnite, PUBG, TCM, they all keep an eye an what becomes broken or OP or has an extremely high usage rate and balance it at set intervals. Blight add ons have been top of most people's list of what needed balancing in DBD for as long as I've played the game since 2021. There are even Blight players that used just shadowborn (before the FoV update recently) and no other perks or add ons because they felt it was unfair to use anything else and they would still mostly 3 or 4K every game.
You do make some good points but maybe you just need a break and play another game for a bit and then you'll enjoy the game again in a few months time. Think that has happened to most people on here at some point!. Enjoy whatever you play and good luck on Fifa!

There is no consistency at all. I play probably 80% survivor and some days you get games constantly with survivors who are totally useless and just refuse to do anything sensible or helpful to the team. Then you can play the next day and every game is a close one. Decent teammates everything, every match gets to endgame even if the killer is very good.
When I play killer I can literally play against constant SWFs who are pulling off every trick in the book, play against Ayrun and get one hook if I'm lucky against the team or, like the other day, can play 5 games in a row against survivors that you wonder if they are holding their controllers upside down or are playing their first ever match with level 0 Megs and no perks. In those 5 games, a total of 2 gens got done and I was using non meta builds to do old archives.
I could probably play tonight and the complete opposite will happen, one kill if I'm lucky and lots of teabaging and people beckoning me to chase them around the map!
You never know from one day to the next what level your games will be.
-
The Matchmaking feels like they're messing with it again. Some days I can play killer, and get matched up with some of the biggest streamers in Europe that feel borderline uncatchable, then there's yesterday where I played 7 straight games where I killed all the survivors or one got hatch with at most only two gens done. Wasn't even running proper builds, was solely doing archives and dailies. Some of the survivors looked like they were playing blindfolded or with their controllers upside down! In those games there were two or three survivors that were difficult to catch and seemed to have knowledge of the game.
As survivor, Saturday felt like the worst day on solo queue ever, was matching up with team mates that were clueless. Yesterday when i played survivor, the survivors I played were mostly solid players and most games were 2 or 3 escapes and decent, close games. Last week I played against the top killer Twins killer in the world and also have played against killers on huge win streaks in the past.
There just seems to be no consistency in match making day to day at all and queue times seem very short at the moment which leads me to think it's set very loose currently.
-
Also are other survivors thinking that Billy is the second coming of Skull Merchant or something? He must have the highest kill rate in history at the moment because every game someone is killing themselves on first hook at 5 gens making it an unwinnable game. Maybe if they stayed and learnt how to play against the updated version of him instead of ruining it for everyone else?
-
My first day playing since Monday and of course the new update. Yeah, solo queue seems absolutely awful. Almost feels like they switched off any match making at all. The survivors I'm playing with don't seem to be doing anything to help at all. It's an absolute slog playing it today.
-
I got face camped by a Bubba on the Game map last week. It was still very successful because the survivors all swarmed round, probably 5-10 metres away trying to get the save which just stops the meter completely. I was urging them to all go back to gens so that I could get my self unhook and take my chances with the nearby windows and pallets but they didn't realise they were killing me by all staying there whilst the bubba waved his chainsaw at anyone that approached to unhook.
Also as has been noted previously, so many killers just know the sweet spot to stand and proxy camp just outside the area that triggers the meter from filling. The mechanic has changed very little from what I can see because killers have just altered how they stay near the hook. If a killer wants, he can trade or tunnel and never have to find a survivor at all once the first one is hooked.
-
First game of the day for me, so much fun at moment. Of course left to bleed out. Quality of matches is utter dreadful at the moment.
-
No, ot the same person, that's the funny thing! Also has the iri add on that means you get instantly down from further than 12 metres away. I haven't come up against a knockout build since the pre changed Sadako months ago, then 3 in the same day with the same character just seems more than a coincidence.
-
Could it be Overcome and Tenacity? Although the ping spike wouldn't make sense though. Have heard of more advanced hackers on another cross platform game that can make their ID show as a different platform even though they are on PC to try and mask the fact they are cheating. Hopefully that hasn't come to DBD also.
-
Last year it was broken servers for two weeks during the holidays so it was more or less a 50/50 chance that the game would be completely unplayable due to rubber banding lag. It's bad news for Knight players but better than a game breaking exploit being left untouched for two weeks until the holidays are over.
-
Are the servers struggling for anyone else? Just played a game with ridiculous lag, just like how it was for two weeks during the Christmas break last year. Probably even worse.

1.) Legion
2.) Legion
3.) Legion
Can't loop, can't hide, can't hold w, can't escape. Legion counters all Survivor tactics and nearly every match ends in a 4K loss.
I was the same about Legion, probably 18 months ago. I played a bit as Legion to get the achievements and now I don't mind so much playing against them.
My top three is:
1) Skull Merchant. Obvious reasons. Terribly designed killer, no fun to play against, and 99% of the time someone kills themself so a complete waste of time.
2) Knight. Memories of the awful matches against him last Christmas in the 3 gen meta are enough to still hate him now. Although rarer to face at the moment, it's just not fun running from AI half the match.
Number 3 is hard. As a solo q player, it's close between Pinhead (although with a decent team it can be a good match), Trickster but I think it'll have to go to:
3) Saduko. Normally just teleport spamming to build up condemned. I know how to counter it with the tapes, but team mates often have no clue and just die at 5 gens the first time they are caught. Also so much fun when you are desperately trying to find an actually switched on for 5 minutes TV to avoid full condemned and at the last second, a Claudette with 1 stack runs out in front of you and takes the tape leaving you screwed. ๐
-
Could see them nerfing UW slightly, but nothing really strikes me as being ridiculously OP or busted at present. Don't see them altering WoO because of the help it gives new players.
More likely they randomly buff or change how a couple of perks work that nobody uses and haven't been mentioned once in any thread in th past couple of months!
-
I switched to PS5 at the start of the year and randomly got to 1/20 when I was redoing doing an adept challenge. When achievements glitches in the summer on playstation, it went up to 10/20 by the time they fixed it without doing anything.
Have tried a bit since to do it by running a boon perk but never found even one in the few evenings I tried. Pretty rare to come up against hexes nowadays, unfortunately for this challenge.

i think ive been let down by autodiadect more than my soloq team in the past years. too much RNG
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3557249#Comment_3557249
do we know how much is the pick rate for sloppy at the moment ? i see it all the time as well.
Also i ve seen some people in the discussion agree that sloppy is overtuned especially against soloq. does anyone else think the opossite and that sloppy shoudnt be changed and its fair against soloq team and swf alike ?
Going off Nightlight stats, Sloppy is used in 13.12% of killer builds, although I certainly see it more often than 1-2 times every 10 matches!
-
Played against a Death Slinger using Ultimate Weapon yesterday. That was a complete pain as he was extremely good and very difficult to shake off and could find you no problem at all.
-
I've gone from having streaks of 5 and 4 straight matches against Wesker, to a mix of several killers, a decent amount Xeno's but last night got Sadako's doing the slugging build twice in 3 games, so hope that isn't going to become too frequent. That is miserable to go against.
-
I've played for just under two years and of course it has always happened, but the past month since the last perk overhaul and Gabriel being released, things have cranked up to crazy high levels of camping and tunneling. I don't even blame the people playing killer. The current perk balance has pushed things to this.
I remember saying before they nerfed eruption and the gen kick meta and dead hard, that it could be a case of be careful what you wish for. That obviously needed changing but the current endurance and speed boosts have directly led to what we have now.
-
I played against a level 76 Skull Merchant earlier this week. It made me think, how can you grind it that much and not be bored when the vast majority of games at least one person is going to kill themselves on first hook or as soon as they see it's her, just run up to her and let her hit them.
Don't remember the last game against her I've played where someone hasn't given up straight away. How would you get enjoyment playing against that sort of team constantly?
-
Main annoyance is that some games it feels like getting unlucky with the Pig boxes RNG. Played one yesterday where I simply could not find a TV that was switched on. Went to every single one on the map and on my second lap, saw one on, and at the last minute a Claudette with 2 stacks of condemned appears at the last minute and takes the tape in front of me! Soon had maximum condemned and game over!
-
Pretty much covered but Dead Dawg can be useful as well you get at least two guaranteed, sometimes even three gens at a height that triggers the challenge if you're being chased.
-
My favourite bot moment was when I was on a hook in Midwitch with kindred. The bot started rescuing me, but the killers aura was revealed on the floor above me so the terror radius heart beat had started again and it stopped midway through the hook animation and ran away and left me to die!
-
How would they implement this? Surely this will just lead to campers/tunnelers playing as Wesker, going away from the hook a small distance, then just dash back the second there's an unhook? Most Wesker's do this religiously anyway as it is! Will just lead to even more hate than he has got recently as people realise hanging around the hook with, say clown and his bottles for example, is useless if that update ever happened.
-
The Sadoko slugging condemned build nonsense is probably up there with Knight and Skull Merchant in terms of how painfully boring and joyless it is to play against. Thankfully it only occurs rarely.
The base kit unbreakable though would be awful. Sabo SWF's running Boil Over, Flip Flop and a couple of other perks would be unstoppable and killers would probably leave the game in droves. When I play killer, have already seen a big increase since the last big update of SWFs selecting certain maps that have guaranteed unhookable spots whilst running these perks, which is basically like asking to be slugged. Giving that build unbreakable for free is really a road we don't want to be going down. Unbreakable basekit would open up a whole host of other problems and would probably kill the game without a huge overhall of a large amount of perks.
-
Boil over to me just puts a big flashing neon "Please Slug Me" sign above the survivors head, especially if they purposely run to places where they know you can't hook them.
-
I went through a spell of running Bond as one of my perks, but it got to the point where I'd had enough of watching team mates doing absolutely nothing of any use, even when fully healed around the edges of the map against hit and run!
I don't mind facing it, pretty much anything is ok really apart from any Skull Merchant (and occasional Knight) game that goes on forever, particularly on a two floor map, or a condemned Sadako with Ring Drawing add on where you spend all game either slugged or running up and down the map doing video tapes. Games like that are literal hell!
-
Total fail, made even worse by the fact that it was the killer straight after The Knight.
Send her back to Fortnite where she belongs. Think she is beyond saving. The changes they made to make her less painful to go against made her seem even worse! Only got out of a 40 minute game against her yesterday because she got too greedy chasing me across an Auto Haven map when I purposely made myself exposed to bait her. Painful to play against.

How do you still get 3 gen when CoB and Overcharge are nerfed?
Because on many maps, 3 or 4 gens spawn in a very small area in relation to the size of the rest of the map. Very often she won't leave the area and with the drones, she knows where everyone is and can get between the gens silently and quickly. Add in uncoordinated survivors in solo queue and it rarely ends in anything but a hatch escape for one survivor at best, often 30 plus minutes in.
-
Skull Merchant should never have been released in anything like the state it was and even after the changes, hasn't made any difference. An appallingly bad killer to play against in solo queue. The fact that half the time someone will DC or kill themselves the moment they realise she's the killer says all you need to know.
Wesker is also getting more annoying as time goes on. Everyone of them seems to have a huge liking for tunneling or proxy camping which I guess with his power works well, but is pretty boring to play against.
-
Absolutely unbelievable they haven't kill switched Merciless Storm after all this time. They have their heads buried in the sand as the game is deteriorating by the day. Probably the least fun it's ever been since I started playing a couple of years ago. Survivors that can't wait to kill themselves on hook or DCing within 30 seconds, constant tunneling and proxy camping going on after the first survivor leaves, normally a Weaker, who seems to have become the shining beacon of this type of gameplay. Manageable with 4 in the game, but with 3 just becomes an unfun mess.
This pretty much every match. The update on Tuesday and the next killer release are absolutely huge events for this game I feel. Mess them up as badly as they have with pretty much everything in the past 6 months (looking at you in particular Knight and Skull Merchant) and the future of this game is seriously shaky.
-
If I'm playing killer and you bring Boil Over and are purposely going to an unhookable area, either by map offerings, purple hook offering or hook sabotaging/breakdown, then you are absolutely getting slugged!
Had some idiot going off on PSN recently after a game like that, but bringing builds like that is practically asking for it!

A Spirit would be a nice change of pace from the treadmill of Weskers I keep getting.
I'm still getting Spirit every now and then, but Wesker is starting to get annoying now. Easily the killer I face the most right now. And every one of them seems to proxy camp every hook and hard tunnell at 5 gens. But that's a different story for a different day!
-
It's mad that it's still a thing. I happened to come across it while doing an old tome challenge of Have you or Any Other Survivor complete 12 gens in total or something along those lines this weekend. We did a little over the equivalent of 9 gens altogether that game before we eventually were all killed!

Or the current tome challenge to force killers to miss you a few times.
Oh I see, is that on Level 4? Got to Level 85 of the Rift a few weeks ago so have been doing older tome challenges instead of worrying about the current one.
-
Do you mean the achievement for causing 50 killer attacks to miss before taking a vault?
I got it fine on PS4, but since switching to PS5 two months ago, it seems to be stuck at 35/50 for me. Just can't get anything else to register.
-
Played against a Skull Merchant using it at the weekend. Didn't realise it was still broken because they brought it back from being kill switched until the David I was doing the gen with missed the skill check. Had no idea why the gen had regressed so much! Needless to say, there was soon a drone above it and the gen wasn't touched again all match ๐
-
Does the broken key and whatever add on it is still make you lose collision detection when a killer vaults a window? There was something a while back where if the survivor was using it the killer would have a hard time knowing where the survivor had gone because they could just run through them when the killer was in the vaulting animation. Was very situational and not worth using because if you did, the DBD gods would match you up with a nurse everytime making it useless!
-
As a SWF you could coordinate it quite easily by leaving a gen at the opposite side of the map as a farming gen that's the 2nd to last to complete and have someone with Prove Thyself, someone with a Commodious Toolbox with the speed and capacity expanding add ons and also Built to Last and Streetwise and someone to distract whilst the last gen is slammed but good luck doing any of this in solo queue! Someone will pop the farming gen straight away or won't realise what you are doing when charging it up and everything will fall apart.
In theory the perk sounds good but it's like Exponential in that it sounds good but you only get any real value from it once in a hundred games if you are lucky, when all the stars line up perfectly in Solo Q.
Plus I've only faced three SM's in a week since it was released so taking a build specifically for that killer (and possibly Knight) isn't going to work.

Yikes. I feel for you.
On the achievement thing, was your progress saved with characters and stuff since, I'm assuming, you used the same PS account? Was it just the achievements that reset?
I've just recently swapped from PS4 to PS5. All your characters, levels and offerings, basically everything saves, just that DBD has a dedicated PS5 version of the game so you have all the trophies to do all over again. I'm actually having fun working towards them and have already got some I didn't ever get on PS4.
-
Must be some sort of bug. Was on one of the farm maps a few days back. Managed to get two survivors that were practically holding hands down in a corner of the map. Hooked one no problem. The second one I walked a bit towards the middle to the next nearest hook. Just couldn't get a hook prompt to appear. The hook was intact, just would not allow me to use it.

Just bring a brown toolbox/medkit and equip Built to Last. You should be able to get those challenges done in one game.
I've done this every time I need to do these empty an item of charges challenges. A very good tip to save a lot of time with these. Even adapted it to when I had to use a No Mither build for a tome challenge with a Commodious Toolbox with speed and charges add ones and Resilience, Built to Last and Streetwise. Stupid really how quickly you can do gens with this, especially when you get on one with someone who has Prove Thyself also. Just feels totally wrong doing it and no wonder killers take Franklin's when they see lobbies of Toolboxes and Med Kits.
-
I play killer once in a blue moon, 99% of the time survivor. I Recently switched to PS5 so the trophies all need unlocking again. Did all the oblivious and killer instinct killer ones on Twins as well as their own achievements the past few days whilst the bonus was on 100% for killer and also doing the current rift killer challenges.
People really do have absolutely no idea how to play against Twins. Was getting 3 and 4 kills every single game, mostly with no more than 3 generators being completed. Was shocked how easy it was, although my killer MMR is probably pretty low. I played Wraith in one game for a daily and got a 4 man SWF who destroyed me so who really knows!
-
The main worry will be what meta we will arrive at a month or two after when the dust settles? It could turn out even worse. If you take away all gen regression, what we be the strongest killer tactic then? Everyone doing the Sadako condemned build or a variation of it on different killers? Then instead of being useless for 25 seconds, you spend minutes at a time out the game? Could easily become a careful what you wish for scenario.
-
You probably have answered your own question in the title of the thread!
The way matchmaking is at the moment, it feels like you get a massively weaker survivor in every team. The HUD thing shows what survivors are doing and when your team is struggling in a game now, theres often a Claudette that refuses to touch gens and crouch walks around the edge of the map (run bond and you see them doing it). They won't be coming to rescue you, so whilst one or both of the others if there's no Kindred try and rescue you, gen progress is going to be slower or non existent. And then there's a chance the rescuers get slugged and it snowballs from there ......
-
The chance of playing an enjoyable game against the Knight is already very low. He can already easily make games last forever as it is.
I think the Devs know that they have created a killer that is already good and in some cases, the best, at the most "controversial" aspects of the game. If they buffed him anymore it could potentially create even bigger problems. Can't see him getting anymore buffs anytime soon tbh.
-
Pretty much all the newer maps and reworked are highly questionable. Most have an extremely strong buildings for escaping chases or are highly likely to spawn pallets very close to each other. Some are ridiculous and that's coming from someone that play survivor almost exclusively. Maps need to be more balanced like older ones.
-
Yeah, guns are certainly not banned for everyone in Europe. From experience, my grandparents were farmers and I now live in a very rural area of the UK and farmers are allowed them but have strict regulations on how they are stored. Also being from London originally, they aren't hard to come by!
-
If you keep getting maps you don't like, that will be the time to use map offerings. I never use them apart from the time when Wesker was released and RPD split in two, so every other game was on there. Hate that map with a passion! Barely made a dent in my map offering supply and have even more now for similar situations.
-
I had a good friend that out of nowhere hanged themselves 8 years ago. The thought of this event or someone doing this had never once crossed my mind while collecting them off the blood web or occasionally offering them to go to Dead Dawg.
Seeing a broken bottle reminds me more of self harm and what happened to Avici than the noose did! So find it kind of strange they turned it into a broken bottle which in my mind is a symbol of self harm?
Either symbol doesn't affect me in any way but yeah, just find it strange it didn't become a Saloon Door or something.
-
Lol someone also put that as I was typing!
