There are no "spawn more zombies" addons. There will always be only 2 zombies. When i have to go to the other end of the map, to smash that stuck zombie in the hope that he spawns somewhere more useful, then i´m losing a ton of pressure.

You're right there isn't, there's only respawn time, but now that I think of it, increasing the number of zombies would make for a good addon

Not when they are stuck on the corner of the map or stuck in a hill.

That’s why you push them to the ones that aren’t ;) if it helps you, put on the add ons that spawn more zombies or increase zombie speed

Today I've had like 10 matches with Nemesis. Not a single indoor map. On the other maps the zombies are almost useless.

That's why he should have a way to "limit" zombies to preferred areas or the map.

That’s why you push survivors towards them

  • say that you've never played killer without saying that you've never played killer:

They hold W and tap M1 for ez wins. Although it is easier, they get a lot more bloodpoints.

So you play Billy with Lopro Chains? That explains, why you have a different experience.

Oh and its really hard to get downed by zombies. They are slow and easy to lose.

you have to play it strategically with the zombies

No I don't lmao. Yeah they can be slow but in certain scenarios they can block off loops (I have footage if you really want it) and in indoor maps is where they are strongest.

I´m playing the one whose "power" consists in hitting survivors 3 times, before they are downed.

    Which one are you playing?

the one that can break off loops completely, whether there's a zombie blocking it or not, nemesis can break pallets quicker than any other killer, down survivors who aren't even near him, AND he doesn't always have to hit survivors 3 times, the zombies can infect survivors too

  • @Tsulan said:

Just another pay 2 lose killer.

are we playing the same killer? because I'd say the complete opposite

  • Just use different perks on them then lmao, survivors have plenty of meta perks to choose from. Not every perk that comes with a survivor needs to be meta you should know this by now. Besides I'd say that Flashbang and blast mine are solid perks as is. Flashbang is literally infinite and "Blast Mine should prevent the killer from kicking it a second time" really? it stuns the killer long enough for you to get away, and it wastes more time for the killer as they have to kick it twice, surely you'd want that right instead of the killer not being able to kick it a second time for a period of time, so instead allowing them more time to find you running away, rather than wasting their time with kicking it a second time.

  • because killers don't just hold M1 all game, as simple as that

  • Unfortunately not, and I never understood why

  • if you don't tunnel it wouldn't be an issue, as someone who plays a lot of killer, I rarely find borrowed time being that much of an annoyance. But if you feel like you still feel this way, the best killer to counter BT with is leatherface as you can hit them twice quickly with the chainsaw.

  • They did in a previous Q and A live stream, I've copied the link for the exact time they answer it https://youtu.be/Je06f1lkgxo?t=3336

  • From experience, camping and tunnelling is fairly common at those ranks, the quicker you get out of there, the less you'll see it happen

  • Content wise, Nemesis' power is amazing which provides unique gameplay with the zombies and the infection, his perks are fairly decent as well compared to recent chapters, and Nemesis was a great choice for the Resident Evil chapter.

For the survivors, it's good that we got 2, I'm sure many were expecting it, along with some interesting perks being brought with them such as the flashbang.

And for the map (when it was up) looked amazing however was fairly difficult to navigate and I often found myself getting lost, however this is more of the case of needing to get used to the map.

Bugs are are always to be expected with new updates, but they can always be fixed, and when looking back on a chapter you're not really going to think about that. But content wise, I would say this was an impressive chapter.

  • Cold wind was supposed to be with this update, but it didn’t get finished in time, we should expect it to get released with the mid-chapter update.

When MMR is implemented (it's not yet in the game) and the rank rewards will come in, you'll still be able to earn pips to improve your rank (not MMR) but you won't be able to depip and lose rank - that's the way it's currently planned, however, until it's actually implemented that might still change.

great thanks for the heads up, I was aware that rank would reset to 20 and at the end of rank reset we would get rewards but I still thought that the emblem system would apply meaning that we can still depip, and obviously rank not being associated to MMR.

  • Thank you for taking the time to type this all up, really appreciate it!

  • Playing stealthily has been a strategy since the beginning of the game, the game is even described as a horror cat and mouse/ hide and seek! There are perks like urban evasion and quick and quite that encourage playing this way. It’s to avoid getting caught. I don’t personally play this way but I can see why people do it. Maybe they aren’t the best at looping so playing it stealthy is a better option for them.

if you’re worried about not being able to find them here’s some perks I suggest you can use.

whispers: you will get an auditory warning when you are when standing within a 48/40/32 metres of a Survivor.

Bbq and Chili: After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors' auras are revealed to you for 4 seconds when they are farther than 40 meters from the Hook.

iron maiden: You open Lockers 30/40/50 % faster. Survivors who exit Lockers suffer from the Exposed Status Effect for 15 seconds and their location is revealed for 4 seconds.

Spies from the shadows: 100 % of the time, cawing Crows give you a visual cue when you are within a range of 20/28/36 metres.

Infectious fright: Any Survivors that are within the Killer's Terror Radius while another Survivor is put into the Dying State by any means will yell and reveal their current location to the Killer for 4/5/6 seconds.

    Hope this helps :)

It's the same thing, you'd need a way to record that visual information for the mods to review afterward. There aren't enough mods in any game to handle reports in real time the way you're suggesting, especially if the reports only come after the trial has ended (when there's nobody to spectate).

It wouldn’t be in real time

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1776672#Comment_1776672

I'm not saying they should necessarily record every match from every perspective and delete the recordings if nobody was reported, since that would waste a lot of space, but more telemetry would be useful. Player positions and such should be relatively "lightweight".

It wouldn’t be a recording as such, it would be just like spectating other players in game, if that makes sense?

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1776665#Comment_1776665

Yes, the report system needs a serious overhaul. Particularly, they need to stop demanding video evidence and should just collect the relevant information from the game itself.

Exactly, they could implement a system where when you submit a report, BHVR can view the report and spectate the match to see any suspicious activity that happened, this would mean that you wouldn’t have to submit video evidence and they could see the match from a better perspective.

  • @Orion said:

Reports do work, despite what you may hear. However, some report types require additional (video) evidence, which can be submitted via a support ticket.

Thank you, I wasn’t aware of this, and I assume many other players aren’t either, there should be a prompt in game that says something along the lines of “for further support please go to ‘website’” so more people don’t feel the same way.

  • @kolosovski said:

Reporting player behaviour in game does not seem to punish anyone, ever. Maybe the reporting player for wasting their time. Now if you receive hate messages via PSN you can report and generally, depending on the offense, the offender is muted for some time. That psn mute system seems to be automated and my guess it is the best you can hope for.

Yeah this is true but unfortunately this isn’t good enough, there should be a fully functional report system that deals with the players in the game, I shouldn’t have to take it to other sources like PlayStation or Xbox for in game issues to be dealt with.

  • Ace, he looked like a cool guy when I first played and I just stuck with him

  • If there was ever a DBD movie, the killer has got to be trapper. He’s the face of the game!

  • Let’s revisit this discussion and make it happen!

I personally am really looking forward to the release of dbd mobile addition as it gives people the opportunity to play the game on the go and experience it somewhere other than home.

I also find it extremely generous that the devs are offering milestone rewards for people who pre-register to get the mobile addition and are offering a unique charm if a certain amount of sign ups are reached.

What is everyone else's opinion on the upcoming game?

I gave the game a go by creating an account from one of the available countries, just to see what it was all about, it’s not bad for a mobile game and the way you obtain perks is completely different, I played it a few times one week but haven’t played it since. I signed up for the mobile version simply to get the charm.

  • Getting adept nurse was not fun to say the least and I would of got it way before if it was the 4K, however I don’t think it’s the killers achievement that needs altering, why not make the survivor achievement harder, and have it so you need to double pip as survivor.

  • @Mandy said:

I think this is a great idea!

Like a nice particle affect or something. Or maybe it can transition to other art pieces of the game. It would be so cool!

That’s a great idea, I would love to see that too!

I have always wanted more emotoes, but they would have to be emotes that dont in anyway piss off killers or survivors lol I dont care that a survivor teabags me or points their arse scratching finger at me, or if a ghostface is getting fresh with me while I'm slugged and teabags my head 😂 but I know there are plenty of players out there, that get so offended by it 😂 the forums have enough petty complaints. But like the person above said, no to the voices lol Jane is already loud enough when she is moaning, I dont need her talking as well telling killer where I'm healing her.

Easy way to fix this, survivors can’t emote whilst in the killers terror radius

  • @Blueberry said:

There's no legitimate reason for them to hide it other than to hide the problems. If their new system was good there wouldn't be any reason to hide it.

    Exactly!

  • If they had a bigger team then they could work on new content and bug fixes and other faults in the game at the same time and more efficiently, personally I love new content added to the game, and like other games it’s what keeps them alive and refreshing to play instead of playing the same thing all the time, but errors in the games design can’t be saved by new content and players will start to leave if it gets worse or continues.

yes well that is an entirely different discussion involving how little ranking makes sense, how ranking was made easier for survivors because of complaints, how that resulting in tons of survivors "undeserved" reaching red ranks but killers dont so lobbies take forever and you eventually get paired up with a low(er) rank killer that might or might not be of the right skill level....

Rank just means someone played a lot, thats it.

The point of the new system is to not rely on the emblem system but something hidden. it rewards you for "beating" someone who is rated better then you, changes a little if they are rated teh same as you, and does nothing if they are rated lower.

Makes sense apart from that we dont know how these ratings work OR what it means to "beat" someone....

But again, whatever magic is going on behind the scenes, the point is the outcome.

If this results in matches where on average there are 2 escapes and 2 deaths, then mission ackomplished, we just have to wait and see.

Yeah I agree, we have no idea how the new ranking system will work and it could completely fix the issue, but we will have no way of knowing how it will effect matchmaking because we won’t be able to see each other’s ranks.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

My biggest problem is: if we, the players, here on this forum, through purely debate, cant even really decide on what is and what isnt a good player....then how is some program suppose to figure it out?

But really, we can talk about this till the cows come home but it is a pointless effort.

We will just have to wait and see how it works out, if we all a month after its implementation get matches with rather consistent 2 escapes and 2 kills then we should agree the system actually works.

Most of the time you can tell roughly what rank a killer is by how they play, there are exceptions obviously. Ranking isn’t the best way to determine skill but it’s better than nothing, the issue I have is when you are put into a match with people who are a much higher or lower rank than you are, you should be paired with people who are in the same rank bracket as you.

  • I think the implementation of emotes wouldn’t be a bad idea, as long as they are silent. The last thing you want is you trying to be stealthy while another team mate it blowing your cover with voice lines. If you could hear voice lines in the lobby like Ash, that wouldn’t be so bad.

Those Ace emotes sound great, and finger guns is a must have!

I don’t think it would be necessary to have emotes for killers though, they just seem a bit pointless as there wouldn’t be many points in a match where you could use them, unlike survivors who could do them in front of their friends or when they are in a safe position.

You could argue that some emotes could take away from the horror aspect of the game, like if you were realistically in the survivors position would you start doing finger guns? But this is Ace we are talking about who constantly smiles so that wouldn’t surprise me. Also Friday the 13th have many many emotes that can be unlocked by playing the game and levelling up, some of which are silly.
