Certainly, playing killer is easier on PC. Playing survivor should be pretty comparable, though. As a result, there should be little benefit to a console killer turning off crossplay; they'll be at a disadvantage no matter what. Console survivors would benefit more from turning off crossplay, but not because they have a disadvantage against PC killers; they just benefit because they're limiting the killer pool to console killers, who are at a disadvantage against all survivors.
When I had crossplay on I was constantly playing against killers that are great on pc, those killers are very bad on console. (Nurse, huntress, deathslinger etc)
I personally found it unfair to play against killers that very blatantly shine on pc because against console players, my people, those killers aren't viable. It made me feel helpless in those matches.

1. Not enough
2. It's OP
It's not op, pop exists because gen speeds are way too fast. It's one of the only effective perks that can be used to stop gen rushing.
-
That's not the sad part, the sad part is that you usually have to run at LEAST 1 or 2 of these perks unless you want 5 gens done in 4 minutes...
-
People run those perks cause a lot of killers like to tunnel. What they need to do is make ds a REAL anti tunnel perk, then boom! Problem solved.
-
Ok I think this is one of the worst threads I've seen on here.
-
1. Pop just got nerfed.
2. Pop is fine.

As survivor you basically don't have a disadvantage versus PC players. As killer you certainly have a disadvantage versus PC killers, but since the survivors on both platforms are comparable, you don't really have a disadvantage compared to turning crossplay off.
Besides, any disadvantages that exist will become irrelevant once MMR comes back. If you have a disadvantage, your results will be worse, your MMR will be lower, and you will play against weaker players to compensate.
We're at a disadvantage because playing killer on pc is much easier and you have more control/better optimization.

There is something we can do.... We can get over it. Its nowhere near as bad as people make out, true when it genuinely happens it does suck.
A lot of it is survivors putting killers in a situation and shouting tunneling. Rushing and looping the hook for example.
Im not saying it doesn't happen, but it's greatly exaggerated. Like gen rushing. So if it happens, get over it, it's a game, ready up again and forget about it.
My issue is that i can't just quit the game, it's like an unhealthy addiction to me. Every single time I try to play survivor now there's at least a few 5 gen tunneling killer.
I know it's just a game, but this is my addiction too. If I'm stuck playing this garbage I'd at least like to enjoy it a little.
And I've tried quitting 4 times already and it doesn't work, I always come back so don't even lol.
-
For the past few months dbd has been miserable for both sides. But there's always that rush of excitement for a good match that makes me come back to the game even though I hate it.
Spoiler alert! I don't get good matches.
-
I regret buying laurie spirit and deathslinger.
-
I'll remain respectful until someone gives me a reason not to be.
-
As survivor I do gens when I'm not being chased, heal every time I'm injured and don't go for hook saves unless I have to. Never willing to get myself killed for randoms, so if a random gets hooked in endgame and the killer doesn't have noed I'm still leaving. I used to save people during endgame but they never returned the favor so I quit.
As killer I hate using moris and I tunnel when I'm getting gen rushed. If I'm not getting gen rushed I won't ever tunnel or camp. I'm not usually sweaty and I usually let people get hatch if they played well.
-
I play on console and we aren't as bad as idiots like you think we are. Just because we play with controllers doesn't mean we lose the ability to use our ######### brains. I don't even feel bad for you a little bit cause you wanna come on here and say that console players are the worst thing in dbd. Refrain from the ignorance.
Us console players never wanted to play against pc players, imagine constantly being at a disadvantage to someone because they use a computer.
-
Hello! I like doing the objective and not sitting in the corner being as useful as an old broken toaster!
-
It's ruining the game for everyone else, it's unsportsmanlike and childish.
-
It ruins the fun of others. If you camp and tunnel I dont ever wanna hear you complain about people ruining your fun, cause that's exactly what camping and tunneling does.
-
Huntress and nurse are my favorites but I never play as them cause they're so difficult. Hag is my favorite killer to play as tho.
-
It's an experiment, they're not making any permanent decisions yet. You need to stop jumping to conclusions so fast.
-
We'll take you seriously when you give a coherent argument instead of being a salt wizard.
-
Him and Charlotte were born at the same time, making them the same age. Victor isn't a baby. He looks like one because he was underdeveloped, but he's the same age as Charlotte.
-
Haunted grounds is already strong enough, especially with undying. It doesn't need a buff at all.

You misunderstand me completely.
Dead hard completely negates a killer's outplay of a survivor, meaning they have to essentially get the hit 3 times in a chase, and I don't think that's particularly fair.
The specific instances I'm talking about are things like always running straight to the Crotus Penn god loop or god bus and abusing it to it's maximum potential before then going somewhere else, every chase. I don't expect anyone not to use strong loops; many loops are strong, but not many are as strong as those, where there is zero chance of mindgaming.
I also didn't say they can't run any perks they want; I literally said IDC about DS because I get hit by it maybe 1 in every 10 games when I play killer, even if those instances I blatantly didn't tunnel, but not enough for me to care.
Both sides have plenty of second chance perks. It's a thing in the game, and that's fine, but Dead Hard basically rewards survivors for pressing a button when they've just been outplayed. At the same time, NOED rewards killers who didn't pressure gens effectively enough.
About the looping, survivors using the best loops to their advantage doesn't make them bad players. Loops like crotus prenn suck, but it's not their fault that such an unfair loop is in the game.
Same as how it's awful to play against a tunneler, but it's in the game so people are gonna use it.
-
Not every pc player tunnels and camps, you're just spreading unnecessary hate because you're salty.
-
I'll answer your question if you can type a coherent thread.
-
This isn't new to crossplay.

@SunderMun said:
I complain about both sides, because as with plenty of others, I play both. IDC about DS or Ruin/Undying, though. More about the way people go out of their way to make the game miserable for others.
I have zero respect for killers who camp, tunnel (unless the circumstance literally calls for it, like near the end of the game) or VPN, for example, but also hate survivors who literally always go to the god loop such as god bus or shack, or who rely on Dead Hard. (legit, that perk shouldn't be in the game imo)
So killers can run absolutley any perk they want, but survivors who run dead hard are bad?
And survivors aren't allowed to go to good loops? Where do you want them to go, the corner of the map?
-
Every single survivor perk is op af.
Survivors shouldn't have perks and killers should have 12 perk slots.

It would be racist if he didn't wear claudettes face.

Killer mains are more entitled crybabies than survivor mains most of the time.
This is MY opinion so don't get butthurt if you disagree.

Oh no! Someone left the game!!! The anarchy!

I sincerely don't want that.

I think the killer from the nightshift should be called "the butcher" but please oh God don't be another indoor map lol.

Then I think we agree. I simply would just like to see LGBTQ+ relationships treated in the same way as the heterosexual ones, i.e. Nurse or Legion.
I apologize if I came across as critical or offended you, it certainly wasn't my intention and I take responsibility if it seemed that way. Sometimes I can read into things too much 😓
That's what I was trying to get at. My point was that I didn't want bhvr to make it feel unnatural and forced but I think I started going off track from my actual point lol.

Subtle is good, but I am worried it will be something like this:
"Gaylord (actual name that exists) the new survivor hopped down the rainbow-colored stairs homosexually to kiss his strong, sweaty daddy-boyfriend on his queer, lucious masculine lips. Then he left his Barbie-colored house to go to his job at Sauna Beefcake. But he was run over by a car and woke up in the Entity realm."
It shouldn't be the character's only defining feature. Just fit it in naturally in the backstory.
EXACTLY! I couldn't have said it better myself.

As a gay person myself I find your stance on this very confusing. If they add a character where the focus of the story is their LGBTQ+ identity then really what’s the issue? There are some experiences that many (obviously not all but a lot) of LGBTQ+ people inherently share like coming out, experiencing homophobia and marginalisation and I don’t see any issue with them exploring that in the lore. How can they write an authentic LGBTQ+ character without mentioning how their identity relates to their character, experiences, relationships etc?
I find your choice of wording here problematic. So being straight is the “norm”, which makes Frank and Julie’s relationship acceptable in the lore, but because being LGBTQ+ is not the norm, it’s pandering and being shoved down people’s throats? I’m just confused what you’re even trying to get at here.
You were under no obligation to reveal the fact you were gay, I never asked about your sexuality or suggested you should share it. You did that off of your own accord. It really doesn’t change how your messages read though.
Here's my thoughts in the simplest terms. I'm saying that for me personally, if they add an lgbt character and include it in their story in a good way, similar to legion or nurse's then it's fine.
All I want from bhvr from the lgbt character is for them to not go over the top with their involvement in the lgbt community. They didn't go overboard with any confirmed straight characters and I don't want them to go overboard with the lgbt ones.
And no, you never directly said that you wanted me to share that about myself. But you're painting a very nasty picture of me right now.
And as far as bhvr going deep into subject like homophobia etc, that's fine. I'm not talking ONLY about lore right now.
TLDR: I just want bhvr to implement an LGBT character like with legion or nurse etc. They can either take the subtle approach or the more noticeable one like legion. And yes they can implement an lgbt story like legion without it being the whole story.

You’ve practically just admitted that you’d treat heterosexual lore differently from LGBTQ+ lore.
So Frank and Julie’s relationship is okay because it’s not the “WHOLE” story but if that were the case for an LGBTQ+ character, it would be “pandering”...
I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt before but now you without a doubt just sound like you’re arguing against LGBTQ+ inclusion. You can’t be in favour of representation but think that such an addition is “pandering”. Pick a side.
As a gay person I don't want bhvr to add a gay character just because they'll get criticized for not doing so. If they add a gay character that's whole story is just them being gay, that's ######### pandering. If bhvr is gonna add a character that I can identify with, I want them to do it right.
There's a ######### reason why Frank and julie's story isn't pandering. Frank and julie are straight which is the norm. If bhvr just shoves someone's lgbt down our throats then it'll be pandering because they'd just be doing it to make it seem like they care.
Remember when I said don't jump to conclusions? Yeah, this is why. Now I had to reveal something I didn't think I'd have to just so that you'll stop thinking I hate my own group of people.

It's, undeniably, a large portion of the story though.
Even still, I fail to see why it would be a concern if an LGBTQ+ narrative was the main part of a character's lore.
To me and many other people it would feel like pandering. That's why.

You stated that you don't mind as long as they don't make being LGBTQ+ their "whole lore and personality" which gives off the impression that you wouldn't be okay with an entry such as the Frank and Julie one should it have been LGBTQ+. I apologise if I misread something or got the wrong impression, although that's how it initially came across to me.
In fairness though, I didn't really assume your stance on the lore nor LGBTQ+. In my response I said "I don't know your stance on these lore entries" to make sure that I wasn't unfairly attributing anything to you.
Here's the thing with legion lore. Frank and julie's relationship isn't the WHOLE story, it's more prevalent in the archives tomes though.
And I know it wasn't your intention to assume my stance, but your wording came off as if you were implying I didn't want lgbt characters.

but what if he was just new and got excited?
sharing good games doesnt mean one was trying to be a jerk over it, maybe he just had a good time and wanted to let others know?
now, i havent seen the post, idk what they said and idk anything about them as a player, but i generally dont think sharing a good game has to be a bad thing.
and if he was a baby killer himself, then stomping baby survivors for him has to be the same achievement as for us experienced players stomping people of our skill level / rank.
again, its hard to say without knowing the post and player behind it.
its possible that they were trying to be a jerk and you did the right thing; and its possible that they were not and you were a little over the top.
It's all about the wording. He could have easily made it sound like he was just happy with the 4k but he sounded very condescending. If his intentions weren't to brag and sound like hes amazing at the game then he did a poor job wording it, that's all.
-
@Mister_xD said:
i think that depends on the rank the killer had.
if it was a high rank(ish - id say somewhere around green to purple) killer, yeah you are making a very good point and them bragging about stomping baby survivors is definitely quite unsportsmanlike.
if the killers rank matched the survivors however, they themselves are probaply not that experienced and just had a very good game, which they felt good about and wanted to share (probaply even one of their first good games - havent seen the post / user, thats just an assumption). talking that down would imho definitely be quite rude.
Despite the rank, I feel like going on a dbd group and bragging about destroying baby survivors is very unsportsmanlike. For me personally it's more a matter of just not being a jerk about winning lol.

You have specified in ur post multi times that it was a girl who wrote that. You got played and now ur head is all fuzzy and you ask people for help if u were in the wrong or not. Grow some ballz.
Lol this has nothing to do with her gender but you can ######### off with this hostility.
