dont matter anymore trap placement since they can destroy it trough walls now
Know the radius of your trap and place your trap so that radius doesn't stick through a wall. Then this will not happen. The Hag is unjustly destroyed by Object flashlight comm squads, because Object is a broken perk, but she has very few other issues and this is not one of them.

Hex: The Fourth Seal.
Successful basic attacks inflict corn blindness. Affected survivors will percieve the entire map as filled with corn. When the Hex Totem is cleansed, any survivors affected by Hex: The Fourth Seal who brought a Coldwind Farm offering are instantly sacrificed.

Some people just dont like other people..also I never said homosexuality is political..I simply stated a couple facts..you judged me based off my basis on facts..then took offense..
Okay. So based on the facts, tell me why there isn't prejudice based on height, eye colour, etc. Tell me why it's homophobia that is born, again and again, by a rootless, simple individual meanness.

No..I just believe in judging the individual over making assumptions on people based off anything else..much as you just did
I mean, I'm judging you off of what you just said to me. If you're going to offer the opinion that heterosexuality is natural and homosexuality is political, tell me why homophobia exists.

Actually straight people do make up the overwhelming majority and is by nature how the human race progresses..that's not political its just how we were put together..the issue people have with this game going this direction is that its being pointed in others faces for sales points only...and it only causes tensions
I'm going to take a wild guess. You also think homophobia arises naturally from the presence of a vast majority and the differences between people. But you have little to no explanation for why other vast majorities, such as brown eyed people vs other eye colours, don't produce prejudice or discrimination of this kind.

Sometimes my teammates want heals when what we need is to break a potential 3 gen strat before the killer can deliver Pop to it, or get the doors 99'd. In that circumstance I will not heal them, and I am indeed gonna complain about Self Care enabling & encouraging stark terror of remaining wounded for any length of time.

I'd rather play against a 4x SWF than anything else, as long as they aren't rude about it. Easy wins hold no satisfaction for me.

If DS is an antitunnel perk, I'm sure nobody will object to DS no longer losing timer in a chase, heavily punishing tunnelers, but ending rapidly if you start to repair a gen or assist a teammate. Which you cannot do while being tunneled. Hell, give it other buffs if you want! You can have a free no exhaustion Sprint Burst after you stab the killer. Simply make it a real antitunneling perk.
Current DS is the ability to make high risk, high reward plays into low risk, high reward plays, converting the killer's pressure on you into your pressure on them. Using active DS to unhook aggressively or work vital gens in the killer's face is a staple of skilled survivors.
A killer is spending precious time to chase you off a gen just to get a slug they can't pick up that's in a gen area where your team wants to go anyway; 'just slug' is a shallow answer.
There can be 4x DS, 2 unhooks per DS, 1 minute of DS per unhook, meaning the killer who doesn't tunnel at all is subject to 8 minutes of this. 8 minutes of someone who can work on gens with low to no risk. That's not antitunneling; that's a punishment for playing well. The killer is up against a team who can do all the gens in 3 to 5 minutes; how do those numbers sound? Compare if you actually tunnel. 2 minutes of DS. Possibly 10 seconds of DS if you just eat it because you must. Is the killer actually being punished for tunneling? Or is the killer being forced to tunnel?

I often choose swan related usernames because of a swan therian who meant a great deal to me, among other things.
There's an obscure saying that 'swans don't swim in a sewer', meaning pure things don't go to filthy places. So you can read the name as a pure thing in a filthy place, but also as a rejection of purity, or a statement that I'm considered impossible. You can tell I overthink usernames heavily, huh?

LGBT identities are considered political whereas straight ones considered unquestionable, default, normal. This is, itself, political, but a form of political you do not notice because you agree with it. So when LGBT people challenge it, you percieve this as the entry of politics. You can apply this to virtually any marginalized group. This is the likely answer to your question.

I know man, I'm so greedy. The time a guy followed me down the street screaming "GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE QUEER" was enough recognition for anyone. When the Nurse has a husband, Frank & Julie and Dwight and David are all getting in on het romance and crushes, it falls to us mundane human maggots, Just Like Everyone Else, to shrivel away out of sight. Our presence is so filthy it's unprofessional to even mention us. Perhaps the next killer's Mori can be him putting on a dress and forcing homosexuality down the survivor's throat, though, because that idea seems like a potent source of horror for a lot of people. I think it might scare you straight.

Beyond the inconvent detail that LGBT people actually exist and so logically would end up being present within the 50+ characters in the game already, I think people are being exceptionally unimaginative with storytelling potential sexuality (in all forms) brings. Finding out a character had someone they loved makes them more sympathetic and tragic. Finding out they had someone who loved them that they betrayed takes things the opposite way.
Completely off the top of my head:
Evans lore seems to hinge on torn loyalty between his miner friends and his father- a catalyst for turning against the miners could be a confession of love met with rejection. Rather than Evan having 'bad blood' or whatever, his shame and conflict over the rejection could lead to him accepting his father's ideology and becoming cruel as a defense mechanism.
This isn't that good I'll admit, but it's SOMETHING and an example of how sexuality can be an interesting part of a character's backstory- it being a minor background detail is fine too, but kinda dull.
Sexuality CAN be more than harmless lipservice and frankly is a ridiculously underutilised element of human experience in gaming precisely because of the unaddressed sqeamishness of straight dudes when it comes to sexualities that they can't relate to.
Plus we're throwing around 'LGBT' a lot: I can say with 100% certainty we will never see a trans character in this game. If BHVR take the plunge they'll still play it as safe as possible for the exact reasons outlined in this thread: the gaming community just doesn't have enough critical thinking to deal with this topic as things stand.
My money is on one female survivor confirmed as bisexual, without this playing into her lore in a significant way beyond an aside about finding two individuals equally attractive- probably yui or karina. If we see a gay male character I will be shocked, if we have a trans character DBD may actually be the first game with a playable trans character? (I don't follow MOBAs and stuff so it might already have happened).
TLDR: Don't worry OP I'm personally confident your throat is safe.
You... You, I like very much. This is a surpassingly excellent post. My only disagreement is that I can totally see a milquetoast white and masc gay guy, a la Soldier 69 in Overwatch. That ground has been fairly well-trod. As far as #hashtag #representation (#####) goes, I would shrug off my coat of grimy cynicism for a tough trans woman character, but I know I will not be getting anything of the sort.

The Twitter post and pandering go hand in hand. Many see this as a move to appease the SJW crowd on social media
Ah, here we go, 'the SJWs'. That's what I was looking for. ... Corporations don't do anything out of the goodness of their hearts or pure Artistic Integrity, man. They eat and breathe money. Dollars. Wealth. I'm sorry your introduction to this concept is tinged with gamergate terror of a fictional flock of fanatical feminist queers, but of course it's a mix of PR and marketing; so is everything companies do.
"This is pandering!" is the conclusion of someone who can only pierce the veil and see beneath the act when they're hopping mad about gays. It's all marketing, dude. This is the pink dollar. All the Japanese outfits? Laser-targeted at the weaboo dollar. This game? It wants dollars, mine and yours. Welcome to capitalism. Enjoy your stay.

A lot of the time, what truly pisses me off is the image I have of the person being rude. The kind of person I think they must be. So instead of saying something to myself like "what a prick this guy is." I'm trying to give a casual "easy there, tiger" or the like, make them sound overenthusiastic and a little ridiculous.
This makes it easier to develop an image of them that isn't as serious or as rage-inducing.

No reasonableperson has a problem if the company wants to add language like that. You and others seem to be missing the main point that people have a problem with. By all means add a gay character. Don't get on Twitter to pat yourself on the back for doing it.
And you might not be calling anyone a homophobe but when other people talk about insulting JK Rowling, it comes across as openly hostile.
Haven't seen any criticism lead with them backpatting on Twitter. It's always phrased in terms of "adding things into the game that don't need to be there", "pandering", "keep characters neutral", etc. If you're saying a gay character is fine, I think you're the only one. And you're not who I'm talking to when I speak harshly.
That said, I've experienced open hostility over my gender & sexuality more or less constantly over my life, ever since I was a little trans kid. This was less "abstract idea of gays mocking JK Rowling" and more "I thought I deserved to die for over a decade, starting when I was about 6 years old", so that's what hostility around queer issues means to you vs what it means to me.
I am usually quite a softly-spoken person, but this is not a subject I speak softly on. Trying to got me nowhere.

That's not what is written in that post. What's written is that some people are fine with heterosexual lore already present in the game, but take issue with LGBT lore, while also decrying the latter as "political" and saying the former is fine. If you're not one of those people, that's not directed at you.
Thank you. I see gay content objected to on several grounds, but straight content that falls within the exact objection is always ignored. What am I to think is the real reason for the objection, then?
-
ITT: homosexuality is political but heterosexuality isn't. Het lore already in-game is fine, LGBT lore is pandering. Totally not a homophobe though, you guys.
Everyone talking about poorly included gay characters who are one-dimensional or whatever; gay people feel the same. Most of us have taste just like you. We mock JK Rowling all the time. That said, if you're gonna complain about a gay-centric character but see no problem with Feng "every single thing about me is related to video games" Min, your problem may not be with one-dimensional characters. Like het content, DbD already has plenty of that.
-
The game is considered survivor sided by pretty much all top players. Statistics do not indicate this because it's a skill gap issue; the vast majority of survivors can't even get on gens aggressively, let alone loop well, including SWFs, including rank 1s, etc. A decently skilled SWF, which is rare, will completely slaughter any killer but a highly skilled top tier killer.
Games like this are 1/50, if that, but their spectre haunts every killer. Particularly when even a team of survivors who aggressively do gens & heal only when it's very efficient requires extremely sharp play from the killer.
Even consistently outchasing these players, you must down often & slug heavily to output enough pressure & take them off gens, and the feeling is one of "I'm busting my ass and you're holding M1". Add in a key escape and a GG EZ. Bad feelings all around.
This is then oversimplified and received as "gens go too fast, survs too strong, nothing a killer can do ever", and killers who don't understand when to drop chases or how to rotate efficiently take up the cry, and the response to it is in turn oversimplified; "the game's nothing like you're saying it is, it's easy for me, apply pressure!".
-
There are two solutions. Remove SWF, which will not happen. Or elevate solos to SWF level via things like "if your teammate is looking at the killer, see the killer's aura", and then buff all killers to compete with this level of power. Given that BHVR doesn't even want to give default Kindred, that's also probably too intimidating for them to attempt. BHVR balances around lower level players getting a horror experience more than competitive players having a balanced one.
I imagine that in a DbD sequel, we will see more substantial changes.

Its not wrong to assume everyone is heterosexual though. Only about 5% of the US population is LGBT and soldier is from the US.
In an imaginary world where homophobia is not a thing and the idea of heterosexuality as normality and goodness is not coercive and constant, it would be reasonable to assume that. But we don't live in that world. When nobody wants to see gayness, the assumption that everyone is straight dovetails neatly with forces of exclusion and denial.

Ok but that runs into the opposite problem of NERFING Plague.
Thanataphobia is a gen stall perk primarily, not an anti-heal perk.
My intention was that the healing penalty is additional to the current slowdown. Otherwise, my change would just make Thana an inferior Sloppy. Plague gets no use of the healing penalty, but can still benefit from the extra 12 seconds added to gens.
-
Coulrophobia; in addition to its current benefit, your Terror Radius lingers for an extra 15 seconds after leaving an area. This applies the perk's effect more widely, synergizes with other Terror Radius perks like Infectious & Dark Devo, and provides a fun way to confuse survivors.
Thanatophobia: Injured survivors recieve an additional 25 percent penalty to healing other survivors. The goal here is to buff Thana without buffing Plague and encourage a playstyle of broad injury. If you're correctly utilizing a Thana playstyle of injuring everyone, healing becomes nightmarishly slow, but if there's a healthy person left to heal who you injured, the additional penalty can be ignored completely.

But is it pandering....the definition of Pander is " to provide gratification for others' desires." in current social definitions the company wants to profit from a community...and I like when a character is ambiguous because it opens the doors for us fans to make our own "Lore" for them.
Then tell me, where was this disagreement when unambigous heterosexuality was included in the game?
-
The Nurse has a husband. Crickets. Julie, David, Dwight, all have lore featuring heterosexuality. Tumbleweed. Every character's appearance and outfits align flawlessly with cis norms? Not a peep. As soon as the possibility of queer lore is announced, hullabaloo! It's pandering, the game shouldn't be political, every character should be ambiguous, etcetera, etcetera!
Representation is nothing to me. I have never been represented in any piece of media; perhaps I am a strange person. This is likely just gonna be some white dude having a masc4masc kiss with another one, too, so it's not that I care, but the outcry about this has a very clear motivation.
