  • The best thing about it is that literally everyone can have like a short disconnection when the company handling their internet ######### up or something. It does affect every player and just because people have "good" internet doesn't mean it will never happen to them.

And also people saying you should not play games when your connection is wonky are kind of... I won't say it. Sometimes my internet spazzes out, it happens, it happens to all of us at some point, that doesn't mean I should stop using the internet and never play a multiplayer game anymore...

Why no free hatch escapes ? The hatch opens no matter if the other player disconnects or just suicides.

Everybody here is pretending as if this was some kind of brain surgery supporting software - its just a game. And BHVR would have other means of remedy - like just granting full sacrifice points to killers for a DC for example. I don't know why everybody is demanding "bans" and "punishments" on people who either have a real life matter getting in the way during a game or just don't want to play with you....just move on, there really is no "problem" whatsoever if someone disconnects.

Finally someone with a brain... people will leave your match and "ruin" it no matter what you do. Even if you don't hook them there will be people just going afk completely, watching a video or whatever else comes to mind.

I can't answer the question about why they want a penalt yso bad like as if they'd lose real value from a dc. I would get it if there was some form of ingame currency (for example let's say "Hook Coins" you would get for hooking survivors to buy cosmetics) but there is literally nothing to it. If a survivor dc's in your game you still play, meaning you still get exp for your devotion level, you don't lose a single thing, maybe a BBQ stack but oh well, that's unfortunate. It's nothing of real importance tbh.

  • @Waldorf_2R3 said:

Its not like they are going to just ban people, they do look into it, and when it comes to people who kill themselves on first hook just report them and they'll look into that too.

It's a legit way to get out of a match as fast as possible. Again, why would I waste my time with some combination I'm not enjoying? Why would I stay in a game where I get instantly farmed off hook and get hooked again instantly? Is it okay to punish people for getting farmed and literally kicked out of the game by the other players? There's too many situations where people think they know better but in reality everyone wants to have fun and if a match is no fun at all why would you stay?

  • I'm not really sure why everyone is so obsessed with making people play matches they want them to play.

Personally, if you dc while loading, even if intentionally, I lose nothing. The match never loads, I keep my offerings, you keep yours, nobody gets hurt. Yet people cry about it like they lost 300000 bloodpoints just from that. Can we like, just be adults and let everyone live and play how they want? If you don't want to play serious against a mori, fine, I get it, it's really not fun. Don't want to play against a survivor group that switches last second to whatever you dislike and put on a map offering you don't want to play? Feel free to leave, I couldn't blame you less.

The problem with this game is, that it's not a real competetive game or even a game you can take serious. It's in probably its WORST state in terms of a working game. Countless bugs, crashes, lags with dedicated servers, delay issues and so many things to still fix until you could maybe CONSIDER implementing a dc penalty. And then again, there's SO SO many variables that makes people dc you can't just go on and punish people for the game bugging out etc.

All these people even wanting a penalty for suiciding on hook are out of their mind. You should never be forced to play something you don't want to, especially not in a buggy mess like DbD.

I think this is a fine idea. New players should have the chance to earn the event cosmetics.

I never see anyone wearing the BBQ or Howling Grounds cosmetics when I play on PS4, so either very few people earned them or the ones who did aren't even using them. Either way, seems like a waste.

Nope, new players shouldn't. End of story.

If there's no grounds for discussion, ######### are you even doing here?

Exactly, now you don't even know what to write anymore but before I said there's no ground for discussion you insisted on those 4 being in the ingame store.

    Have a nice day.

And they stated they want to avoid exclusives as much as possible( with legacy being the exception). And that event cosmetics will be at the store so you can get it if you missed the event.

You can keep saying "the store wasn't around before" but that's not an excuse. This is their policy now, so they should follow it.

That is their policy NOW which they follow with every NEW event item they release.

And as they have CLEARLY stated they are NOT giving out the 4 items to everyone for already mentioned reasons there is literally no ground for any discussion about it. They reverted it for those 4 because they knew it would be huge mistake to hand them out just like this. End of story, that's basically it. No matter how much you insist on this "policy" for event items, those 4 items are NOT included as stated by the devs.

It is a rule now. So why can't they be at the store?

Because I just said these 4 were never meant to be in the ingame store. The rule applies to the hallowed blight items, as that's the set of outfits where everything began.

  • @Alice_pbg said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/893848#Comment_893848

That's not what people are saying.

    There's 2 issues here.

1- bhvr said they would release it to all, then went back on their word. What's stopping them from going back on their word on other things?

2 - their own policy about event exclusives is that they will all be avaiable at the store. So what makes these 4 so special that they get a different treatment?

Making strawmans out of people just make you look like an #########. Don't do that.

Because it is not fair to hand out things that were meant to be exclusive. And they noticed that. The community gave them feedback on how these 4 cosmetics were a symbol of you playing the game way before cells, event items in the shop and so on.

By the time these event cosmetics were released there was no ingame shop. These 4 are an exception because they are out of a time where the "event items will be in a shop" rule wasn't even thought of.

Event cosmetics are bs in other games too. No need to bring them up.

Just an excuse to go "I have this because I happened to be playing at the time it was given away, I am so awesome! Look at my pixels!!!"

You really don't get the point. With how people justify they "deserve" these cosmetics we might as well just bring back legacy for everyone. Because, that's what you all are saying right? Since it's the other peoples fault for playing this game so early, right? Yeah heck them, let's give everoyne legacy. After all they were just cosmetics you kinda grinded no big deal haha 1080 Auric Cells per Set right?

I'm not particularly a fan of exclusives myself as an idea. In fact I am against it. Which is why I say people should have the chance to earn them again.

They should be available for everyone with exceptions to people who have done amazing work for the community. But even then they shouldn't literally be plastered no their backs.

I mean it's fine if you don't like exclusives and don't mind everyone gets all the things handed you grinded for but the majority of people don't like that, which is why the devs reverted the previous plan to hand them out to everyone.

  • @DelsKibara said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/893687#Comment_893687

Then give them out again as another event exclusive. You are saying that you should earn them right? Then why not put it up for another event? Put it in the Rift so the grind is also still there. Make it Tier 50/60/70.

That would not make any sense. Everyone who already has those would be completely ripped off since you'd play an event to get cosmetics you already have.

They are called "exclusives" not "ex-we-might-put-them-in-again-in-a-grind-because-heck-those-who-already-have-them-clusives".

  • Hey btw, Adrenaline has the HUGE condition that all gens are done/the hatch gets closed.

Running adrenaline might end up with you just having three perks until you die. That is in no way a comparable perk to balanced landing before the long needed nerf. Get used to it, you can't run around the same building over and over again anymore.

Yes I do realize they reversed there decisions to give all players the event cosmetics due to updating the method of finding players who earned it, but for the people who never had the chance to earn it, like me, it sucks because I really like one of the cosmetics that I can never have due to me not knowing the game existed until after the event, this is the reason I want the devs to atleast add them to the store, because I never had the opportunity to grind for these cosmetics

While it sucks for you unfortunately it would just as much suck for everyone who earned them in the events. If you got something you earned yourself and the Devs would randomly decide to give it to everyone you wouldn't feel good about it, I'm pretty sure.

Event exclusives are not meant to be available for everyone.

  • I've played Doctor for a along time now. I really enjoy playing him every so often.

    Here's what I recommend:

Use your treatment mode as much as you can. Get people CONSTANTLY to Madness 3. It catches people off guard, random screams reveal their location should you lose line of sight and even if you lose them they have to waste their time snapping out of it. If you get people to Madness 3 you can stop shocking, except if you know when to shock so you can land a hit on a pallet/window. Don't waste your time shocking and running around safe pallets too much. Play them like any other M1 Killer if the survivor is somewhat decent. General rules apply to him mostly just as to other M1 killers. Don't respect pallets, try to mindgame jungle gyms etc.

As for a build, I personally use BBQ, Iron Maiden, Distressing and Ruin.

His main purpose is to always know where everyone is, not just when you choose to hook camp someone. Your passive power needs to be up at all time, the more Madness it generates over time while survivors might be in your Terror Radius the less you have to shock to get them into Madness 3 so they once again waste their time snapping out and so on. Sometimes you passively get people into Tier 3 while you chase someone, in that case you occupied two survivors at the same time without even looking at the second survivor.

My personal choice of addons is the yellow range addon and the yellow Calm addon. You get a decently huge TR from Distressing and Calm and a nice range for shocking.

Of course you need to practice a few rounds to get used to the range and the charge time and so on.

"Impossible" skillcheck Doctor might be the "easy" way to go I guess but it's really not necessary.

  • In my honest opinion, even though I don't use them as much... why should event exclusives be available to everyone at all time?

There's no reason to call them event cosmetics if everyone can just buy it whenever they want.

Like for example Warframe has a lot of cosmetics that were only available at a certain time, I have some neat Halloween "Batwings" as shoulder armor from many years ago, and even though I'm not sure if they did return, I'm certain it would be again a limited offer.

Something you got when you were there, when you participated, when you supported the game. And now just because someone has money they have the right to buy it without ever being there when events really happened?

Why is everyone so obsessed with buying EVERYTHING in the store? There's like no exclusives anymore in this game, even if you grinded through the Rift well guess what, everything you earned will be available in the ingame store. Yeah sure, some of them are just recolors. Others might not even look cool. But if you earned them with playing the game, putting your time and effort into it, then it feels just dull to see everyone running around with everything you unlocked earlier.

Exclusives give people the feeling that they accomplished something. Exclusives are meant to stay exclusive, we actually grinded for those, we earned those, even if the task we had to do wasn't much but still it's not okay to give EXCLUSIVES away to everyone. it makes them.. well duh... not exclusive anymore. With the mindset of most people we should just have all cosmetics in the ingame store for auric cells. Don't work for anything in game, just buy it, whatever. People really just don't want to do something for rewards anymore and it's sad.
