Maybe if survivors weren't tryhards that pop 3 gens before the killer even finds them the killer wouldn't have to resort to tunneling to secure at least one kill so he's not only not humilliated but also doesn't derank and has some fun.

If you want tunneling to not exist then make it so the killer can chill and kill at his own pace instead of being forced to tunnel or all 4 survivors will escape and teabag at the exit.

Maybe if killers weren't tryharding by slugging at 5 gens or guarding 2 hooks at 4 gens would survivors not have to resort to "gen rushing" so they don't derank with less than 10k points to show for it.

All I have to say is that playing killer is not enjoyable once you get to rank 8-1.I always get toxic survivors and it's frustrating. This game used to be so much funner.

Playing solo queue isn't enjoyable either at rank 8-1. Killers playing competitively and teammates either don't have game knowledge and know what to do at critical moments or don't do gens.

Playing as a stealth killer? Well don’t worry the loading screen will drop “tips” saying “when facing Ghostface” or Myers etc. Doesn’t that ruin the element of surprise for the Killer cause now the survivors know who they are facing off the bat. By that point might as well show the Killer in the loading screen lobby.

This tips are only for the first few times you actually play against a new killer lol.

  • What's boring to play against is every Spirit with Stridor and the fact they can stand still and be rewarded for nothing because a survivor has to guess at what they're doing. Against a spirit with a good headset or Father's Glasses and Sloppy Butcher, they're uncounterable at times.

  • I loved and mained old Freddy back in the days. Was his power a bit weak? I mean, before they increased the time it took to Self Care then yes he was weak when Self Care was meta. Old Freddy was more entertaining to play as and against compared to new Freddy who spams snares or drops dream pallets like nobodies business. I wish there was a way to play him again :(

  • If there's only you and one other survivor left in the trial and the exit gates are not powered yet I would expect my teammate to let go for me to get hatch like I do already. From a mathematic standpoint at best you're only going to get around 800 struggle points where as hatch is 5k survival points and I think 2k objective points so yeah you should let go on the hook for the other survivor and to deny the killer a 4k if possible. By holding on in a hopeless situation you're sabotaging your own side. Just my humble opinion is all.

  • I think the mistake was choosing to play with them. Sorry to hear they weren't the nicest <3

  • To say that Dead Hard is all reward and no risk is a misunderstanding through lack of experience using the perk. Dedicated servers make it the opposite as you can Dead Hard, but it will be a 50/50 if you'll be exhausted on the ground. Yes Dead Hard can be annoying as killer, especially when all survivors are running it, but once they use it, you know they have it and can corral them into dead zones. Plus a good chunk of survivors aren't really good at using the perk, minus high ranking well experienced survivors.

  • Hag with Rusty Shackles instantly smacking ya is scary af.

  • Very impressive collecting all that data! I'm surprised BBQ and Chili didn't appear more times though, interesting.

  • As crazy as this sounds, but I'd be really interested in seeing how Dead by Daylight would work with Tim Burton's movie Beetlejuice (80's movie) Picture it, The Bioexercist, and withdrawn teenager Lydia Deetz with the realm Winter River (town in Connecticut that it takes place) a few map ideas include Afterlife Civil Service Office, The Maitland's Town Model, and the Maitland's Residence.

The Bioexercist has the power of Ghost with the Most and comes with 3 unique perks: Just Say It, Posession, and Third Times the Charm

Lydia Deetz, a socially withdrawn teenager comes with 3 unique perks: The Greater Good, Strange and Unusual, and Isolation

If an undying totem is in a loop does this mean that both sides could see each other?

Yes it would, so long as the killer wasn't Undetectable by the wording of OoO.

I must quote and stress this, as it is very important.

OOO as written right now does not work with Sole Survivor. If Sole Survivor hides your aura then OOO will never trigger. So basically you just turned Laurie into a crappy survivor whose perks don't even work with each other. Since you are nerfing both OOO and DS that makes Laurie a pile of junk, just like Ash.

Would like to see a buff to Sole Survivor at least. Maybe increase the range per dead teammate to 30m instead of 24m, so that it's useful at least even with just one teammate dead. And please let Sole Survivor work with OOO if you're going that far. It makes no sense for two of her perks not to work with each other.

OoO and Sole Survivor do work together. Unfortunately they made a mistake when last tweaking Sole Survivor to cause it to be perma lit up when just 1 person is dead. Sole Survivor blocks the aura reading extending from the survivor's position for each dead survivor, not from the outer range which I dislike. Before they made the change, Sole Survivor used to lit up when it was working, blocking the aura reading, so that you would know it was safe to look. When both are tier and token 3m they used to lit up together indicating you can see them far away, but they can't see you at all. They do work together.

Yes I do stream, Twitch is the same as my forum name, and Youtube as well, which is mostly stream highlighted games. :D

If I’m being honest it was learning the game killer is much more complicated and I liked the challenge but I have all the killers unlocked and all the perks, I wish I could just forget how to play and start from that point again

I know what ya mean, after playing it for 4k hours I know the ins and outs lol. I try to put spins or normal things that I play and better myself personally as killer.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

I generally do that honestly but if I get multiple rank 1 swf flashlight games back to back with super fast gens it just gets to me. I really enjoy the game and don't mind losing necessarily but to get shut down so early on just isnt fun

Flashlights are pretty counterable nowadays compared to when they could literally insta blind you. If you get multiple ones in a lobby, I recommend running Lightborn, or Franklin's depending on what you have available, and you can always look at a wall or wait it out to see if you can a flashlight user.

The majority of them just take it for granted you're gonna heal them there, and few use their brains to think to run off and seek cover. Healing the hook in most cases ends up in another needed hook rescue or a farm. This mentality only ends up adding more pressure to survivors and needs to stop.

People often heal under the hook because they expect the killer to have BBQ and Chili or Thrilling Tremors (which a lot run, including myself) and go away to find the survivors we see with it. The Golden rule is wait at least 15 seconds before unhooking. I run We'll Make It as well and get annoyed when people run away.

  • I just think Autodidact should be reworked with its same function. I thought about it, and I would make it like a 50% healing speed debuff, every 2 seconds you get a skill check, good skillchecks increase it by 5%, great skill checks by 10%, cap out at 50 or 100%. Basically the last version of the brand new part, but for healing. Guaranteed skillchecks, builds over time like Adam's lore, feels impacted, better singers with other perks.

  • @bm33 said:

That just sounds like a normal Wraith. Are there Wraiths that don't invisicamp and tunnel?

Yes there are lol, there are ones who get 3-4k's from actually using his power to stealth and sneak up and snowball injured survivors.

I’ve been having very poop matches recently, and it’s been making me think that this game is slowly becoming survivor sided and the devs are essentially turning a blind eye on killers.

    1. Perks. Yes, there are killer perks that are very good, but most of them have counters. Hex:Ruin, Barbecue and Chili, Thrilling Tremors and NOED all have counters. Let’s have a look at survivor perks that can’t be countered: adrenaline, sprint burst, lithe and don’t get me started on object of obsession. The devs have turned a MASSIVE blind eye on object. People who say “Oh you’re just bad learn how to counter them” are the same people that bring unbreakable and decisive.
    2. Map design. A good majority of maps are heavily survivor sided, including Hawkins, Lery’s , Red Forest and Haddonfield. Most killers get countered by maps like these. I understamd the devs have been attempting to add balance to certain maps such as Macmillan and Autohaven but that isn’t making up for the pure amount of unbalance in other maps.
    3. Gen speeds. Do I even need to go over how quick gen speeds are? And with addons gens can get done in a matter of seconds if everyone is working on one. 45 seconds for 2 people. 2. That is a ridiculously quick time considering that’s cutting 35 seconds without that extra person. They need a nerf, or else they are trying to encourage people to start bringing ruin, but wouldn’t you know! Your totems get done within 30 seconds of the map starting. That leads me into my next point.
    4. Totem spawns. The amount of times I bring ruin undying and undying goes within 1 minute. 30 seconds later, and there goes ruin. Totems are way too obvious and need better spots other than just smacking them in the middle of the map where everyone can see it. At least make it so that survivors kind find totems until after the first minute of the match.
    5. The killers them self. Bhvr have added killers that have very weak map pressure or abilities that are useless, turning killers into a laughing stock. The devs release a killer then ignore them, leaving them to eventually become a meaningless killer with no good perks, or one good perk and two completely awful perks with no use at all. Compare that to survivors with actually all viable perks that can be used including Meg and even Fen Ming. Killers need some love!

So to all you killers, what do you think?

As someone who primarily streams killer game play, has 4k hours in the game, frequently looks up the DBD wiki, and gas been playing since December 2017 I am addressing this as a veteran player. There are counters to survivor perks, 1) Adrenaline, can't use it if they're dead, doesn't matter if you play an insta-down killer, you can drop them to see if it procs and if it does, smack them again to get rid of it before hooking them. Mindbreaker and exhaustion add-ons are also a thing. Object, though powerful. Is countered by Undetectable killers and perks, it used. Before the Undetectable staus became a thing, you could see an invisible wraith, you could see a crouching Pig, Ghostface in Night Shroud on the PTB. Only person you couldn't see was Myers at tier 1. I'm sorry if you think Lery's is a survivor sided map but that map, before it was reworked was a lot stronger with window spawns. It was easier to loop and rooms didn't have 4-7 doors to the majority of them. Which killers are you identifying for being weak and or laughing stocks? Because each of them have their strengths and weaknesses with their power which requires the player to actively think how to use it to the best of their ability.

yh but it doesnt feel as satisfying as walking trough the exit door is.

What about the intrinsic value of knowing you ran a killer around for so long and making it a personal best record for yourself to beat in the future. I find putting a spin on negative things, makes the game more enjoyable, in my humble opinion.

Many killers complain how this game is survivor-sided. In reality it is. It’s just masked by bad matchmaking system.

if solos are getting good teammates (which they should have if matchmaking works properly), I’m sure you can escape like SWF.

And many killers do really want to buff solos instead of nerfing survivors in general, and then buff killers like you said. But I would be surprised if devs really do this.

I wouldn't say the game is survivor-sided, as someone who has over 4k hours in the game, and has played since December 2017, and frequently checks out the DBD wiki for fun, the game is the most balanced its been since release. Really the root of the problems we see is with matchmaking, the amount of time (experience) each player has varies and reflects in their playstyle.

  • @SilentPill said:

Quit using totems, that’s your first mistake. They are back to RNG garbage after the undying nerf. The only reliable regression anymore is pop.

Two, you gotta tunnel. Eat the DS and tunnel someone out every single game, it’s the most consistent way to win. You are not 12 hooking unless the survivors are absolutely incompetent at looping and also gen phobic.

Run the busted builds and killers too, survivors have no problem spamming keys and DS currently so you might as well.

Totems are meant to be high risk, high reward, you take the risk of running one. Sometimes yes, you get a bad spawn, sometimes survivors spawn near them. You can 12 hook survivors who are competent if your skill and experience outmatch them. That goes to another point, matchmaking which we all know is questionable. Survivors do not spam keys, as they know that it's their equivalent high risk high reward.

Killer just doesn’t feel fun anymore, the gens are flying so damn fast my totems spawns are hot garbage and it always ends in getting teabagged. I just want some tips on how to get enjoyment out of killer as its my favourite role and its just becoming more and more annoying to not be able to apply any pressure and to have games that last 5-7 mins.

    Thanks to any who help

What made playing killer fun in the first place for you is my genuine question? Whatever it was, try replicating the game play, the mood, or the killer you play :)
