I also start to wonder that with all their data and experience they do strange things every normal player tells them this will cause problems.
No - comes anyway and oh wonder - causes problems.
I really hate the fixing of stuff that was completely fine to something which is clearly worse - nope, they do it anyway.
The competitors will never kill DbD i guess - but maybe they manage it on their own.
Still hope they revert things when the next player survey will be bad. (… and i bet it will be)
-
Sadly as often they completely overthought their systems instead of just using simple changes that would be enough.
Recent changes are pretty bad in my opinion. They take out more and more of what the game made good in the first place.
I hope they rethink some of the things.
Players should never be punished for their gameplay style or startegy! (…as always - the abusers make it bad for everyone)
-
In the games i had i experienced him as strong too.
But as i heard maybe a lot of this is related to bugs. Some should be fixed in the hotfix they said so we will see if it stays this way.
But this explains to me why he suddenly showed up silently and was on you on a gen so fast.

right - the majority who have good connections should suffer because of the minority who have bad connections or are exploiting with VPN. Terrible take
Yeah, i get what you mean.
I have a different opinion in general. Imagine you have a bad internet connection for whatever reason and the game tells you - to bad, you can´t play anymore - i bet yoo would be very sad.
I am happy i have no problems but i can see that there are people who do.
As always it comes down to the ones abusing stuff to make it worse for everybody else :-(
-
Agreed.
Sadly it seems that a lot of loud people in this forum are loop friends and don´t like stealth :-(
Hiding is the logical thing to do for every new player because this is a horror game and there is a killer coming.
All the anti stealth mechanics are very detrimental to the game in my opinion. I don´t want it to get as awful as in 2v8 where you avoid the killer perfectly, a gen pops, and you are just revealed and can do nothing against it.
-
This is fun for some time. I think these 3 month intervalls are fine.
But 2v8 is a vastly dumbed down fast action version from the game. Also you have some absolutely unfair situations if the killers chase you together.
Also Legion+Oni was just awful.
-
I don´t like this system.
But the - (I don't count this as on purpose) - what else is this then?
Just play the game.
If you say i never dc that means to never dc.
I have never dc´d ever myself. You usually can play every game and end it.

It isn't 'bad internet' though, they are intentionally playing on servers far from their own local servers to exploit ping advantage. If they have bad internet, surely they would use a VPN like ExitLag to play on servers in their own region for the best ping?
They aren't doing this because they are abusing ping, simple as that.
Yeah, but you would punish the ones who just have a bad internet connection as well.
Just like the self unhook - because of the ones who abuse it we normal player have to take the bad consequences now because they took it away.
-
Good.
Better AFK Crows too.
-
No.
You can´t and should not punish people for a bad internet connection.
Sadly you will always have people who exploit everything that is possible - but i always (try to) think good of people.
-
Same - PC/Steam and PS4
Stuck at 60.
-
The new players get stomped if the survs have some experience.
I got some good Springtraps and they were pretty strong - if you have the axe he has a wallhack that makes mindgames impossible.
That you can claim back your axe to throw again in chase is very strong. He is for some reason (some say there are bugs) very often undetectable and fast.
Didn´t play many games but we had a dc one as he was looped until we were already at the last gen. Or all dead at 4-5 gens.
-
SC could easily get back to 50% now.
-
Wrong.
Only bad players want less aura reading in game - of course we need much more aura reading.
Maybe the new keys will have build in aura reading. Survs should see the killer all the time too.
Maybe we just show aura all game - thats what some players want obviously.
(…/s - i have a completely different opinion to be clear!)
-
Employee 427…
-
Legion don´t need buffs anymore.

The 500% bloodpoint bonus that survivor is going to get due to the 30 minute killer queues.
Let´s hope so :-)
I am also already imagining all the videos how insanly hard DbD is from all the new players that will be tortured by veteran killers.
-
At this point they can put almost anything in DbD.
Repairing gens at the Death Star as rebels or in stormtrooper disguise while hunted by Vader with Star Wars music - sure.

I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday. Since the beginning, we had very balanced challenge.
75 hits feels like you have to play the game all day
And guess what ? If you want all the Chaos rewards, you need to complete 12 quests. Which is the exact number of quests that will be available during the event. So you WILL HAVE to go through these 75 damn hits, or you might get frustrated to lose a reward. That would be horrible, is not it ?
The whole new quest system is becoming a huge "fear of missing out" stuff and I deeply think it will shorty damage the playerbase…
It seems not to be that the Quests (call it Rituals again!) have to be the Chaosshuffle Quests.
I completed Rift / Milestone quests in a Chaos match and it counted it. So i already have 10/12 completed.
Don´t know if this is intended but it only says finish quests in Chaosshuffle - not finish Chaosquests in Chaosshuffle.
-
They got lucky :-)
Also just played him - always when there are "grab" challenges.
Their Macmillan won over my Lerys. Got it anyways, so it was fine.
-
Yes, gen kick cap is a bit to low.
Also you need to kick 275 gens as challenges… sooo….
-
Ah ok - i also still play on PS4 as well.
PS4 runs with a lower framerate of course but still good enough for me.
But there are some slowdowns here and there when a lot of effects happen.
I also get the hickups there sometimes when more things happen. The rubberbanding usually comes from the servers.
-
Saw everything from 0 to 5 as well.
But often the team starts strong and then struggles with the last 2 or the last one.
Careless teams often 3 gen themselves and used all pallets early game.
-
As far as i know the game has kind of spikes when more things happen.
I have a pretty stable connection and also get hickups sometimes. Don´t know if the computer or the internet connection or whatever needs to be top tier to not have these.
Also their servers have problems sometimes too.
Maybe someone knows a solution, i don´t. Sorry.
-
A big problem with him is that you can´t escape the killer instinct. You have no chance to block it. (at least i don´t know one)
People often forget that normal players aren´t nearly as good at looping as all the Youtubers. Unless i get real good teammates in SoloQ we mostly lose against a half good Legion.
-
A lot of the new perks sound cool on paper or are strong in very special conditions - or SWF.
Normal players won´t take a hook stage from another player for example. They have enough to do to survive themselves.
They use bread and butter perks which are useful most of the time.
We already have to much perks and new ones are mostly variations of old ones. But often not well thought out imo.
-
Had a few games against him yesterday and i have to say - i don´t like it.
Yes, it may be this first hit which feels incredibly awful. Also he was soo fast… he was on us across the map a few secs after the hook.
-
Some feedback that is on my mind. Thanks.
The item and perk colour change is bad. Adds nothing to the game and makes it worse. A toggle would be fine if you don´t want to change it completely back.
Chase music is to loud. Especially since for whatever reason almost all of them now have a very short hammering drum- oder percussion-loop. A slider to make it even a little less loud would be great.
Why the heck can´t we get our NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons back to cycle through chars in the menu. You need much more clicks than before to go through them now. Still feels clunky.
Please consider something different than "Quests". This is so incredible generic and boring. DbD don´t need to copy every other game. Why take some cool mystery out of the game?
-
Ash seems more of a niche license today :-(
Could also get some cool ones from the show.
-
I only hope they don´t "streamline" the game to much.
Sadly they are getting rid of a lot of things that made DbD successful.

I mean, they are a business and their primary goal is making money off you.
This isn't a loving relationship, it is a predatory one designed to get you addicted and direct you to the store to spend more money and as much as possible.
Not hating on BHVR for this, it is just how businesses operate.
It does suck as a customer though because things that are not directly related to bringing in revenue and ensuring retention are always going to be a priority.
This.
You already bought the old chapters - but you should buy the new ones too.
-
If you buy it on Steam you often get a cosmetic or a charm with it.
If you buy it with shards you don´t get this. (which is pretty unfair imo)
Can anybody tell if you get the exclusive if you buy a dlc with auric cells in game? I don´t know that.
-
Changes overall are ok. Keeps the game alive and fresh.
But i really don´t like the changes they do noone ever asked for or wanted. And they never go back on these.
New UI is still worse than the old one. Colour change is not good. Renaming to "quests" and the whole system is so average. And all the aura reading…
-
Agreed.
This is known for a long time now. DbD is extremely new player unfriendly.
All these surv fixes don´t help new players really much.
They need to give some basic free stuff if somebody starts now new. The grind is absolute horrible.
At least the original Survs should come full unlocked or at least at tier 1 so some perks are available at the start.
Also someone had an idea once that there is somekind of under 100 hours players are only matched with other under 100 hour players.
Maybe not the best solution but maybe a lot better than now.
There are test videos on YT where a completely new account gets matched with veteran killer after like 3 games. That should not happen ever.
And some killer bot training matches should be implemented as well.
Therefore i am curious how the FNAF player spike will turn out. How much will stay for longer?
-
I also red this as number changes.
I think reworks would have been mentioned.

Tbh, I understand why you think that. And I agree that the game has moved away from stealth but I am not suggesting a true STEALTH perk. Technician forces gen repairs to gain value. You physically cannot play a true stealth gameplay if you want value from it. I'm talking an aggressive stealth gameplay style, almost like Hitman or Assassin's Creed. You don't just sit there and stealth, you just want to evade and kite the killer's sight while completing objectives.
Completely agree with you.
I always liked stealth gameplay - and yes, you have to repair and you should be more save with this perk imo. Therefore the aura blocking would be great.
You have almost no real aura blocker anymore.
And i hate it when i hide or surround the killer sucessfully and then just get revealed and found.
The only ok aura perks where the originals like BBQ or bitter murmur. All new ones could be deleted.

I don't know about other changes to the perk. I mostly will let the devs decide if they fully change it. I do kinda dislike the idea of blocking auras. I agree that it would be an appropriate change during the current meta of DBD but I just want the fun of silent repairs. Everything is so aura and chased focused currently (another statement I agree with you) that I think a perk that would aid in practical stealth would still be more enjoyable, even if it's not as good
Stealth is not wanted anymore.
Even if you are silent the killer just sees you sitting there with his 20 aura perks...
-
Also agreed.
Feels kinda irrelevant popping up in the background.
They remove everything that made the game unique imo. Streamlining - to make it simpler is also more flat and boring.
Not sure if this will really help to keep new players for longer.
And the rename to "quests" is just dumb.

The thing about a 'grind' system is that it is meant to invest players into something that would be much more straightforward if automated but it gives a sense of progression.
At some point people will have to ask: if I can just automate the blood spending entirely, why have the bloodweb at all?
Same thing with these new "quests" (should have been stayed rituals…)
They are more or less irrelevant now because they just pop up in the background without doing anything.
But you need them a lot more to progress in the rift because you almost gain no points anymore without a quest.
But all the little things that made the game great are more and more eliminated to "streamline" the experience… sadly
-
It should block your aura while you repair a gen.
That would be great in this overrevealing times.
The former stealth was great but sadly to many people here cry about it and consider everything other than constant chases bad.
The game is moving little by little away from its roots. (which made it popular)
-
Will be interesting to see if there are really coming that many new players to the game.
Everybody says it but that doesn´t mean it will be the case.
I guess there will be a spike and then it falls off to normal regions.
There hasn´t been anything done to the horrible grind new players have to go through.
-
We will see. I guess there will be some problems.
… but hot take here - if you simply never give up (odd - right?) - you hopefully never have any problems with the new system, however it works.
-
Some killers do this on purpose.
Oni just zooming around downing everybody. He won´t stop for the hooks.
In the meantime Legion or Ghostface comfortably picking up.
-
But Oni has no problem to get his power in 2v8 because there is a Legion zooming around injuring survs very fast.
He has his power all the time in my games.
The Legion Oni combo really is extremely annoying. And yes i also already wondered how agile Oni is now with hitting you around every corner.
-
Uii these are nice!
Code works fine.
-
It is 5 Rift for 500 XP.
But there seems to be a bug that u need 1 quest open or u get nothing at the moment.
Look in the Bug section.
But in general it seems more grindy without the quests now. You really need these quests to advance. I hope they fix this.
-
Happened to me on PS4 again.
On RPD - Wesker grabbed me and we were stuck in the doorway.
Couldn´t move or do anything.
We stood there till endgame - after the timer was out it still took about 1 minute until endscreen.
-
Trapper is good - only not for high tier players.
If you buff him to compete at high levels he would be a monster for normal players.
-
…
Real water is probably to complex for the game. But Sharks are cool.
