So some are a tad confused on things, so I’ll try my best to explain, and maybe even change the prompt. So first, I’ll change the date to 2019 so its the modern era but COVID isn’t a thing. Second, my original idea was that they still had all the powers the entity gave them (even if it doesn’t make sense lore wise). So they’ll be woken up in the exact place they died, with the power the entity gave them, in 2019.

also if you the killers who 'died' by the ones in close death before taken by the Entity, then that will put not include those who were still around and just taken. so that only means, Nurse, Hag, Nightmare (died before being taken), Pig, Spirit, Plague and Oni. (also I realized most of the female killers in DBD were at the edge of death before getting taken by the Entity, didn't notice that till now)
Nurse, Hag, Spirit and Plague - due to their injuries/diseases/fatal conditions, they would die seconds after returning back to their world, the Entity and the realm is what's keeping them alive.
Nightmare - he would show up in a the place he died and know he's out of the realm, only around ten years has passed for him, he would continue where he picked off and kill Nancy, then after he would continue to haunt Springwood, murdering and [REDACTED] children and teenagers.
Pig - she would wake up at the place she died and notice that John's body is gone, believing that she survived the nightmare and think that she is the true Jigsaw killer, she would resume the Game, but would soon get caught and arrested because security had increased since the last 20 years
Oni - he would wake up in a different place with strange things around him, with several things that he doesn't understand, from all the confusion, he'll go on a murdering rampage, killing anyone he sees until the cops show up and put him down.
if you meant where they were ADUCTED, then you should of said that, not all of the killers died, they were just taken, the ones I mentioned did died, but once again, not all of the killers were killed before taken by the Entity.

You guys seem to have missed my point where I specifically said that changes like these would require massive changes and is unreasonable to make. DbD’s formula is a pretty good one, I was just thinking of some changes to make it horror themed. I wasn’t making any suggestions, just thoughts. I’m aware this would make stealth killers useless. I’m aware with certain builds this is a reality. It was just a couple ideas not meant to be taken super seriously

I main Oni, so here’s why I hate it: Oni heavily relies on Dash and Bash opportunities. Considering every loop is either an infinite or an unsafe pallet, it makes it infuriating to play on. Considering I only have my power for a limited time, Survivors can loop me in a house or on a fence. Combined with the fact that Patrolling gens with his power on Haddonfield is significantly harder because gens are tucked in tight spots, and the fact that Oni gets screwed by auto aim half the time, it makes for an infuriating map to play on.

So I just found something interesting about Talbot Grimes. It’s a decently well-known fact that each blighted killer has a tag on them. These tags have a symbol followed by 4 numbers. Well, on Plague’s tag, there’s a symbol that no other characters share. Posting a post on Reddit, I asked what it meant. I was told that it was the alchemical symbol for Borax. Here’s the thing though: it wasn’t used, as far as I know, until 1928. So how would he have known about it?

Well, a couple things you need to ask yourself:
Do you main Killer or Survivor?
Depending on the previous answer, who do you main, if anyone at all?
If you main a particular character, look into commissioning some things or buying some things that relate to the character
I main Oni, so I’ll describe my ideal game room and maybe it will inspire you:
Oni desktop wallpaper, that’s a must.
Yamaoka family crest poster
Oni mask decoration
DbD-esqu Oni katana
Red colors
Oni figurines
Maybe a couple books about Oni in folklore
A copy of the shrine in the Yamaoka estate (the small one in the house, not the actual shrine)
Traditional Japanese furniture fitting the time period
Replicas of posters on the Yamaoka maps
Small sculpture of Oni’s broken statue
Replicas of some of his add ons
This would of course change depending on your preferences, but hopefully this gave you some ideas :)

Gaten seems like such a chill dude, I’m excited to watch. Supposedly Jessica is a good person according to Tofu. But...I’m hesitant on Ninja. I saw him playing DbD in my feed, and he’s not someone Gaten should learn DbD from (assuming he’s playing for the first time). While a large majority of the community is toxic, Ninja just takes gaming to a whole-nother level. I’m just...hesitant

Hatch I can understand, because since its not a secret offering a killer can somewhat prepare. The basement offering, however, I have no idea why its in the game. I’ve seen survivors bring this offering much more than is reasonable. I don’t care where the basement spawns as killer, and they don’t even bring map offerings with it

DbD PS4 Trophy Hunter, its my time to shine:
Most of these I got by farming (I know, but the trophy hunting life is hard)
I chose “Taking One For The Team” because its the only one on the list I don’t have. Not only is it 300 matches, but you won’t even get the right circumstances most of the time. I got all adepts legit, Hemophobia legit, Left 4 Dead legit, and all map gen trophies legit.
A couple of responses to other replies: @Awkward_Fiend maybe try Lucky Break? @Walker_of_the_fog_96 the trophy is on PS4.
A lot of these trophies took a while, but I’m happy to say that all I need is some of the Descend Beyond trophies, Taking One For The Team, and the clown trophy where you need to down 100 intoxicated survivors

According to leaks by daylight (while this isn’t 100% confirmed they’re almost always right) Oni and Nurse will be in Tome VI, so that might help a bit. Oni could still be uncertain, but I’m sure Nurse will be pinpointed closer

Like Arial said, Oni are made from evil humans. This does bring up the concept of religion (not our world religion) though...are there other beings in their universe? Obviously there’s the entity, but could there be others? Now, I’m basically knowledge-less on my Japanese mythology, so I don’t exactly know why they were turned into Oni. Oni was definitely wicked, but its weird how he wasn’t pure evil like many Oni are (he cared for his son and remorsed when he killed his father). So this brings up whether he was molded to look like an Oni with Oni powers, or if he’s a genuine mythological demon stolen right after death

From what I’ve seen, it can be translated many ways, such as demon, troll, ogre, etc. And thinking about it, he probably not an actual Oni but rather a demon (small but notable difference). I think The Entity turned him into something based on his nickname in his life, and not an actual Oni in Jigoku (like Hell). Onis are supposedly supposed to torture people in Jigoku...kind of like Oni does in the realms. Weird, a lot of strange coincidences and convolutions.

I mean yeah, I know the real reason why. But usually the devs make an in-universe explanation for real world changes. I was asking if there’s any in-universe reason, like if the entity couldn’t read a memory, had no connection to any place, stuff like that

That is, if they lived in the same universe. The Observer mentions that there are many different variation of Earth. If they did live in the same universe, than, hypothetically, others could have as well. IIRC, Jake also was in the set that came with Chalet Getaway.

@VolantConch1719 you’re fine, I was just putting my thoughts in. Also, @The_Werewolf It’s now cannon that the 1978 movie and the 2018 movie are the only ones relevant in the story. Every Halloween movie in between those two movies now don’t count according to the 2018 directors

This law was passed in 1588. The thing you didn’t seem to mention though was that it didn’t seem to have been enforced. Many non-samurais were able to carry weapons, so that gives a motive for Kazan’s journey. In his mind, it was “If the government won’t enforce the law, I will”. So I would put his journey’s start at 1588.
Onto his map, Sanctum of Wrath, I found out that the type of shrine was a Hachiman Shrine, a form of Shinto Shrine. After more research, I found that the oldest Shinto Shine with wooden toriis, was built in 1535. The dates line up extremely well so far. In the map’s lore, the shrine was abandoned for several seasons, so I would say a decade.
We also know that Kazan had a son, Akito. When Akito was young, he fell off a tree with his playmate, and Kazan killed their entire family. This would be before his pilgrimage, since he never made it back home. I would say Akito would be between the ages of 5-10 at this point. If Kazan had Akito when he was 20, then Kazan would be 35-30 when this happened. Assuming his journey took place shortly after this, this would mean Kazan died fairly young, even for his time, since his mother and father were both still alive when he left.
While researching this, I remembered Kazan’s father, Renjiro, was in a war. I looked up Japanese wars, and the only war he could’ve been in is the Imjin War, from 1592-1598. Assuming Renjiro retired after the war ended, this puts a wrench in our numbers. However, it’s not too far fetched to change the dates of Kazan a bit. Renjiro survived a ship wreck, which was probably near the beginning of the war. Forgot to mention, this war was between China/Korea and Japan. He continued to fight, and became extremely well known. If he did indeed retire from the military, Kazan would’ve most likely been born in 1598-99. We know Renjiro didn’t retire fully, at he was defending a lord from Kazan’s pilgrimage. Depending on when he left, the year could change. After more research, it seems like it would take about a year to walk across Japan at his rate of speed, visiting most towns and such. For the sake of a year, let’s say he left in 1629, accounting for Akito’s estimated age and birth year. This would make Kazan 31 when the entity took him, and him leaving in 1630.

I think spirit might be from the early 2000s. She went to Takamatsu University, according to lore. The university was built in 1996
