What about Count Dracula?
Flashlights would give Drac some extra spicy grief.
-
Alien would be sooo cool.
Take the Pig mechanic of setting a reverse bear trap except in Alien's case, it can breath into survivor's mouth to set a seed to be hosted in their belly. If the survivor cannot destroy the parasite in time, wait for the timeless animation of it screaming out of their abdomen and then baby Alien roaming the map like one of Nemesis' zombies.
-
Someone I know had suggested a dark medieval knight.
The mechanics and powers would need to be unique as in not just some dude in armor with a great broadsword.
Imagine him being able to call his war horse and he can mount it to traverse the map faster. Maybe change the mechanic to be like when Billy is in a chainsaw rush.
Then, when mounted and a survivor is in line, you could charge with a joust lance at them for an insta-down.
When not on the horse, then give M1 swing ability like every killer.
Maybe make it spicy by allowing survivors to pick an apple from a tree and feed it to the idle war horse so it gets distracted and won't answer to killer knight's bidding for a short time?
That would give some fun variety while keeping it well inside the horror requirements.

I think the 8k to 10k boost was to make players feel more at ease about the matchmaking percentage bonuses. I know a common grievance with the earn-extra-percentage offering was that you top out at 8k even though you could have earned double that.
I was glad to see the caps increased and I also will admit you may be right, without offerings and matchmaking bonuses, there is very little chance of being able to get anything good from the cap increase.
You also bring up a fair request and that is to re-work the categories to allow for survivors filling a needed role instead of forcing them to do idiotic tasks that make no sense to the survivor team's needs.
I would say all changes still amount to at the very least a small step forward instead of what you suggest as turning out to be 3 steps back and 1 step forward. Maybe it is just semantics, but we should give credit where credit is due - the problems can't all be perfectly re-worked in a couple patch releases.

Thank you! And just to confirm, since its measured by tiers and not how many perks you have, a lvl 1 perk would count as 1, a lvl 2 perk would got as 2, and a lvl 3 perk would count as 3 perk tiers correct? So if I has 30 lvl 3 perks for example, that would be 90 tiers which would grant me a single prestige level?
@fogdonkey claimed it would take 120 + 1 tiers, not 90 to be counted as prestige I and thus bonus bumped to Prestige III in 6.1.0. At least that is the math I am sticking with for now just to be sure.

If I get to Bloodlust II on any of the health states, the chase is taking too long.
So that would work out to about no more than 30 to 45 seconds of hearing the chase music before the dying state happens. Anything longer than that and it starts feeling aggravating for the killer.
Very situational though, as many have already stated.
-
"...will assume you get the RNG that results in the most favourable amount of bloodwebs possible, and no perks get eaten"
^^^ and we all know it never works out that way. The Entity is a crafty swindler that causes me no end of grief. It is good to see you gave them the benefit of the doubt in your calculations, though.
Is it possible that BHVR meant to say we would 'only grind 75% as much' instead of saying 'grind will be reduced by 75%'? There is a big difference and I suspect the former is much closer to the truth.
The only unknown factor is that maybe they will offer 30k to 80k bloodpoints for each matchmaking bonus. Then I would be onboard.

Of course I know who Otz is but what is Otz's Law?

You spent tens of millions of bloodpoints not expecting an extra reward. Why does this change anything? It's not going to be some amazing reward and people are going to be pissed. It's just how the entitled on the Internet work.
I'm looking at it from the stance that I am over-joyed that the prestige system is being majorly overhauled. I suspect BHVR will be fair with how they give a gesture to those that went through the punishing grind and bloodpoint drain that is (allegedly) being removed from prestiging up.

Ooo thanks for the info! I better start prestiging all the licensed survivors too then!
I am the opposite. I STOPPED prestiging characters when I found out about the re-work. I have 4 killers at P3 so I'm thinking why throw away all my add-ons and perks to get an undisclosed something or other. lol @Zeidoktor 'all I got was this bloody lousy t-shirt'

It's too bad my time on the hook when killer is camping doesn't count toward the 60 seconds. I would have finished this one first try. One tip is if you are early in the match cooperating on gen and someone misses a skill check, crouch away to the nearest locker and hopefully your mate does some loops right around the gen area. Also, as was recommended by someone else, when a survivor is downed, crouch and follow behind the killer when they pick up and carry them and if you are lucky, you can stay hidden while they face-camp.
I have to agree though, many matches were thrown to accomplish this one. Good luck

For the tens of millions of lost bloodpoints I spent on P3'ing all my fave characters, it would be an absolute kick in the teeth for them to hand me a 'good work chump' charm
-
I want to beleive that the upcoming bloodweb re-work will be a well thought out generous quality of life improvement.
The Entity is a swindler at heart but trying to project that through expensive bloodpoint waste is enough to make me want to give up. Give me a t-bagging survivor swf to play against any day versus dealing with the bloodweb rip-offs.
I feel for you, @CreeRoyalty . My advice, until it is addressed by BHVR, is to play into the hands of the corrupt non-RNG Entity to move past the inevitable. Not buying it on principle will fall flat and end up destroying your mind just like the Entity wants.

It's a little big and open, which can be tough on a lot of killers. But otherwise I kind of like the map. Since the visual rework, some of it's pallet loops are actually fairly mindgameable.
I'm a killer main and Ormond is one of my favourites to play on.
When I do play as survivor, I find it balanced if you know where to seek refuge. It is way better than any indoor map, not to mention how infuriating it can be to play RPD.
-
Has anyone heard if public release of next DbD version is going to increase the max allowed bloodpoints to higher than 1M?
-
I got matchmaking loss at least twice today and I did not disconnect, did not crash, and did not lose internet connection.or suffer from high latency.
I not only lose my add-ons and offerings, but now have to wait 15 minutes. This appears to be a server problem. Not an issue client-side. I hate getting punished for it not being my fault. Plus, all the time I put into the trial and all the lost stacks. Sucks.
-
I got it on my 7th try, 3rd after reading this forum post. What a pain. The map was Red Forest and I think my MMR went down enough where some players weren't as familiar with Twins and didn't try to kick Victor on after his big misses. I used Cat Figurine and Cat's Eye
-
I don't understand. Complete them all but only collect right away the ones on the red line?
-
@XStormyXDayzX your idea is great because it would solve 3 glaring DBD issues at once:
- The littering of absolutely useless add-ons
- The highly disappointed low value of prestiging up a character
- The forced grinding that zaps the game of its fun
-
DCers are bad for both survivor players and killa players. As a killer main I don't so much mind rage quitters because it often means I am having an outstanding performance. What I hate is losing all the bloodpoints as the grind is horrible in this game. If I got 10k bloodpoints each time a survivor disconnects then I would be content. I am only afraid of that one killer player ruining it for everyone by playing unsportsmanlike in order to force disconnects to load up on DC BP bounty.
An alternative approach to discourage DCers is to take some bloodpoints out of their blood bank and give them to the killer player. That would be more effective than disallowing the DCer from playing for 10 minutes.
-
At first I thought OP was just complaining about over-use of flashlights just making killa player sad but it does sound like an accessibility issue where the light patterns make them sick. Yes, there should be a setting to tamper down the effect of flashlight blinding if it is not already there - so long as it cannot be used unfairly which it doesn't sound like it could be.
-
As a killer main and very new to The Twins, I am finding them decently balanced. Definitely no nerfs, but I would also say no buffs needed either. I want to vote up anything to not have to deal with cooldowns and situational recoveries, but I don't think I have seen (yet) getting my Victor stunned by a Dead Hard. Because The Twins have such a huge upside potential, I would say a Dead Hard stun throws a bone to survivors who may feel helpless when getting victored. I think @GoshJosh makes a good point that Victor can bait out Dead Hards. I will keep that in mind as I build my skill with The Twins which are my latest killa character acquisition.

This had been addressed in a past Q&A (at 20:33)
https://youtu.be/12UQhlPTdzQ?t=1233
It has been 4 years since this Q&A, but no mention of a breakdown / crafting system has been mentioned since. Only a "we're looking for way to reduce the grind that is not just for the short term, but for the long term" has been said.
Good find and thanks @Nos37
I have only been playing for 4 months but no surprise that people had requested this in the past.
It looks like BHVR's reluctance was that everyone would end up with best of the best add-ons. However with my suggestions that can be avoided by for example if you trade 3 Uncommon Offerings for 1 other Uncommon Offering. That way, you can clear out the junk with something more respectable albeit an offering that cost you 3x the normal price - that still allows you to not just go hog wild on whatever because you are still taking a hit (pardon the pun)
Honestly, I don't know what I am going to do with my RPD Badges. Sure, I may have a clever idea on how to loadout to enjoy playing killer on that offering but for the love of all that is decent, at least let me trade some of them away!
