Hook denying is a valid strat, but it should never be strong enough that it's consistent on every map/scenario solo or without multiple bodyblocks.
-
The point of victor is a free injure/down they have a 1% chance of avoiding that takes a few seconds to get

Then why do survivors in a four man SWF at high MMR lose more than they win? (real numbers are even lower since they don't count matches with a DC). People keep talking about how overpowered SWF is and the official numbers don't back it up. Where are all these unbeatable SWFs that I always hear about? I Have over 4200 hours and I rarely run into them despite having a very high win rate on killer.
They have a low winrate because "high mmr" is fake concept unless you're very new or bad at the game you are considered high mmr for matchmaking purposes which is why we're in the current situation where you get 1-2 newer (in dbd terms) teammates and just get rolled.
-
She's strong, but not because her numbers or anything are insane she just requires good survivor macro/decision making. Nerf her iris though please they do way too much.

Lol they listened to feedback on everything from the PTB except the worst map rework of all time. Dead zones everywhere, useless house windows, pallets that are free hits for the killer, and I can reach out and touch the opposite walls.
What. A. Joke.
Me when I see a Midwich offering after Haddonfield rework release:You gotta instadodge midwich because of the literal automated billy bots that just offer it and insta kill everyone in the map

Oni would be a D tier killer if a pallet stun removed his power that relies on survivors to already misplay by giving him hits

The Cool-down for missing is exactly the same as hitting an obstacle or a Survivor : 2.5 seconds, I don't see what you mean by that…
He gets basekit tompsons' mix in overdrive you have to live inside a pallet vs the most hyper mobile killer in the game with instadown and 0 power resource meter or he gets a free m1 or worse.
-
Are they in your face? If not they are not face camping it's working as intended
-
Ruin is very good the problem is it's only really good on the killers that can pressure survivors quickly from a distance (Billy, blight, nurse, etc). If they buff ruin even to 150% it will be still be meh on every killer, but amazing on the top 5 killers. If they bring back the anti tunnel feature maybe it can return to 150%, but that part of the perk didn't even really matter since if it bought you time to tunnel someone out it did its job and the game was over.
-
They claim these things then make blastmine/ds counter plague mixed messages from the devs
-
I really doubt people will ever stop complaining about tunneling until DS stuns for 20s
-
Step 1. Hold w
Step 2. if he gets too close drop pallet
Step 3. play dropped pallet for vaults since hindered does nothing against them

Thank you BHVR team for riding the game of this bug.
Please continue with the good work eliminating more and more of this things.
Also I don't understand people complaining they can't exploit a bug anymore.
It was a bug. You were cheating not too different from people who use external tools. You were gaining an advantage that was not intended.
If you spent years playing like that and now needs to "re-learn" Blight that's on you.Pressing m2 while already touching something in a rush is 100% comparable to downloading cheats and flying around the map. A very genius and well thought out opinion.

UW - Dead perk in all honesty
DS - Meta perk becomes meta+++ and we're just back to weak killers getting rolled while strong killers power through it
Adrenaline - Many years coming

Hillbily has the skill that immedietly breaks pallets and walls with short cooldown, Insta down survivors on loop, control the whole map with chainsaw. I understand that hillbily requires some skill and practice but once you adapt his turns and when to unleash chainsaw when survivor tryna juke, he becomes unstoppable. I'm really bored of repeatedly going against hillbily and seeing 2 downed survivor (mostly dc right after) 30sec after game starts. Its only playable if survivors goes against hillbily in low mmr cuz most of the time ppl rightfully dc after a surv downs in 10sec of game started . Please nerf him at once and dont buff him again
Very interesting how people defend him after they overbuffed him multiple times. He has super high mobility with 0 cooldown, instadown threat that can down you at almost any loop in the game, and very good addons. Insane he got a curve window buff on top of everything as well.

I wouldn't call a harmless re-skin of the player's model a cheat, since it is just a cosmetic (and funny looking) mod. Fixing gens as a tiny killer would actually look really funny.
But other mods, that actually gives the player an advantage over others should definitely be frowned upon.
More than frowned up if you have mods in modern dbd you ARE cheating and will get banned by the anti cheat eventually. I've seen people streaming themselves with extra fov on survivor + extra distance on windows. There is nothing stopping these silly "modders" from full on cheating on top of everything else.

Thank you for removing hug tech while keeping the multiple bugs that negatively impact his gameplay. The two gimmick addons being made bad numbers perks was good too.

While that's good to hear, i still think the initial GB size of DBD is an issue.
You can only do so much when there are this many cosmetics, maps, killers, and perks in the game.

Why is Plague in the same tier as Blight and Nurse?!
Nurse is great at 1v1 chases but since her range and recharge addon nerfs her map mobility is pretty awful now and every mistake is incredibly punishing.
I don't think Nurse needs or can take further nerfing, it would have to be a complete rework of her power and as a former Nurse main I am fine with that. I do think her power kind of breaks the game and continues to present issues with balancing the whole game for killers but Nurse isn't the easy 4k machine she once was.
I would unironically rate Billy as a stronger killer now.
nurse is still #1 at least in your average game on larger maps though billy is just superior in every way

Altruism has been and always will be the biggest threat to any team.
If you're losing downs consistently to BGP, it might be you. Sometimes, theres nothing you can do, but most of the time there is.
Yes very much my fault a survivor intentionally goes down in the open or on a pallet and I’m playing a 0 mobility killer let me just scare them by looking at them. I’m not going to pretend the majority of bgp users get a save against me but you’re going to remember the players that use it very well.

Well, there's no real way of knowing if you're in High MMR or not, but the 10k+ hour streamers I follow regularly see at least half the roster, so I would imagine that's just incorrect
The thing is everyone is high mmr because the soft cap is super low and hard to get below. You have a wide range of skill levels that co exist in the same skill bracket.

yea very interesting how blight has had multiple impactful bugs for quite a while, but they find the time to fix hug tech

At the very least, they shouldn't share the same downside since this just lets you use both addons with only 1 penalty which makes it a pretty broken combo.
Can you really consider only 3 rushes a huge downside? 20% speed more thank makes up for less rushes since you just catch people at loops earlier. It also means you get your power back faster in general (shredded notes combo incoming after ptb).

If they reeeeally wanna win they will either have an unlimited supply of those things anyway or just swap to whatever survivor still has that stuff..
True bloodweb reductions in action

When you've been around as long as I have, you start to see the same patterns emerge, year after year.
As soon as we nerf BGP, it'll take about two weeks before we're flooded with complaints about gen rushing. I don't see any other option at this point to satiate people, but BGP does get people doing something other than gens.
Yea it gets them not doing gens and instead denying pop/pr so the first few gens pop while the killer gets nothing. Altruism is the strongest thing survivors have and 4 man goofball squads tossing the game isn’t proper altruism.

Honestly a good idea, but it’s already not exciting to see multiple map offerings, bnp, styptics, and syringes every match

It's not that difficult, actually, if done correctly. The server is already making similar checks every tick, just add a few conditions into the checking routine, like checking coordinates and velocity against limits. Other games do this, for example, there is a good reason why in Team Fortress 2, with their abundance of cheaters, such cheats as speedhacks and flying are completely impossible. Even Minecraft servers can detect speedhacks and flyhacks with trivial measures. It's hard to find a multiplayer game nowadays where speedhack is even possible because of how trivially it is fixed by the server-side validation, it's truly a mystery why DbD still allows this in 2024.
yep the biggest reason cheaters are so common is they have lots of power to do “fun” stuff. If cheating was regulated to just wallhacks people wouldn’t be able to make entire channels around cheating in dbd .

Having to repair up to 5% to stop regression can make some 3gen scenarios basically impossible to win. If the survivors don't have perfect coordination, a killer that can pressure both edge gens before survivors can stop the regression becomes a nightmare since they can keep gens regressing and even though survivors tried to repair it to stop regression, they can't get enough progress. This results in more consistent regression as well as not causing the generator to have more regression events, making the anti-3gen mechanic work against the survivors.
Obviously with a limit on gen regression events now in the game, gen tapping cannot return as it was before, otherwise it would be very broken. However I think reducing the amount of gen progress require to stop regression from 5% to 2.5% would be a good middle ground to help against these 3gen nightmare scenarios against hard 3gen builds on killers that synergize with them.
Anti gen tap is fine unless the rng is so bad they’re on top each other which is not a problem with the mechanic itself. Even the strongest killers can’t do much about survivors working on a gen and leaving early when they return. They will use all gen kicks eventually unless survivors mess up.
what is a 3 gen build though ? Eruption is decent but overcharge and cob are heavily nerfed you can’t be in a 3 gen and win unless you’re taking chases and getting hook related regression.
-
There is a pretty common trend of wiggle/sabo/save builds being used not strategically but to have fun even if it results in a 4k at 5 gens. Big difference between funny swfs and bgp used for a crucial early down to stop pr/pop being applied before first gens get done or anti tunneling.
Infectious doesn’t matter unless you’re on the few killers that have the mobility to punish someone with bgp sitting a good bit away. Mind breaker isn’t doing anything unless they touch a gen magically before the pick up. Blood echo requires the bgp user to be injured during a hook which means it does nothing early game.
BGP can be easily saved by just not moving for few seconds after a pick up allowing you to run other exhaustions on top of it. Killer isn’t forcing it out if someone is on their back.
-
Over nerf double speed ✅
Add addons with flat 20% speed and insane turn rate anyways ✅
Remove niche fun gimmick addons ✅
Also the duration of first rush is very insignificant since you’re just burning it quickly to get into a lethal rush. 3.5s first rush is many times worse than 3.6s duration for every other rush with alch ring.
-
You should have taken the guard hit way earlier and ran to main you zoned yourself back into the same loop. Your pathing was pretty awkward as well. Even if knight might have still gotten a hit you prob had enough distance to dh at a window or pallet at main. Cow loop is strong and all but you don’t want to put yourself in a position where you’re forced into a corner by a killer with zoning potential.

No, not like Old BT where you both get endurance. I'm saying that when you run BT, every time you get unhooked you'd get 20s of Endurance and Haste yourself.
My bad I think we still have the issue of endgame that’s why OTR self disables. I think BT is still a great perk especially for endgame saves.

Multiple things.
Despite crouch tech being an if anything shockingly reliable counter-mechanic to Billy's chainsaw, good Billy players have no issues going on winstreaks of hundreds of matches, or 4k-ing even in tournaments where their opponents are not only keenly aware of crouch techs, but generally great players united in highly coordinated teams. Simply put, Billy is so strong now that the existence of crouch tech if anything is a balancing factor. This is especially true because his cooldowns are so short that even if you do dodge a chainsaw with a crouch, you might still get hit or sawed a few moments later anyway.
Blight not only is even stronger than Billy still, but crouch techs are from from reliable against Blight, nor will they often prevent the follow-up M1 even if they do work out to dodge a rush hit. They are somewhat more reliable at pallets, but there they are even more guaranteed to mostly only delay the inevitable hit by a couple of seconds. With Blight's hug-teching set to be removed, crouch-teching will only become even less relevant against him, because Blights will rely on bump logic much more. And since busted stuff like Adren Vial still exists, I doubt Blight will even fall out of S-tier viability. Pallets will be more reliable of a tool against him, but Brutal Strength or Dissolution solve that problem perfectly well, and Blight having to use at least one chase perk instead of being able to carelessly stack 4 slowdowns won't hurt too much.
Demo is the one killer where I agree crouch tech is pretty bullshit. Demo isn't a bad chaser at all, but he is also not Billy or Blight, and his map traversal isn't as good as it may sound, his macro game potential not stellar. His missed shred cooldown (especially if eating a collision) is also rather punishing, regularly allowing the survivor to make it into safety. Considering all of this, the fact that crouch-teching works so reliably against him is just a crime to the poor thing. That said, I for one think rather than try to remove crouch techs against Demo specifically, they should significantly buff Demo in other respects, such that the existence of crouch tech won't hurt so much anymore. Mind you, most people don't know about crouch techs or aren't good at utilizing them, but Demo deserves buffs regardless. I just think using crouches to dodge these attacks is thrilling and fun.
Finally, it has to be noted that there is counterplay. Survivors have to crouch preemptively if they anticipate the killer unleashing their respective attack. The killer can predict this and adjust their attack direction such that it will still connect, or abuse this by holding their attack and getting a hit due to the survivor not making the distance they otherwise would have. Of course the survivor in turn can anticipate that the killer will adjust or fake their attack and just keep running, so this at times is a bit of a gamble or mindgame on both sides if you will, but stuff like that creates higher-level interactions between good players.
Billy is clearly overturned and has surpassed blight by a wide margin even before hug tech removal clearly S tier killer. Maybe nerf that killer instead of keeping broken hitbox interactions?

If he would played better he would not have to camp 3 gens and start chases over and over again until finally all pallets are used and when he caught one mistake from survivor whereas he made dozens of mistakes. That is literally the worst you can play but still win. Is the bar even that high to win agains't soloQ? If we would been swf we would whiped the floor with him.
Survivors are expected to get escapes vs killers like demo. If it’s not going down to the last 1-2 gens then survivors have played poorly or the map rng was heavily against them. Surprise surprise without high mobility/scary chase powers you have to wait for survivor mistakes to get downs.
tl:dr the ball is in the survivors court and they air balled it
-
Clown has always had quick chase potential when you greed pallets instead of playing them dropped to avoid the hinder. This doesn’t matter in the end when he still has to walk across the map to do anything.
-
Addons should never have gen regression/gen slowdown built in just creates problems

Game 1 is a survivor going for an unhook while the killer is chasing someone else. This is now considered a 'massive misplay'.
Killers are just getting worse, aren't they?
We’re lacking a lot of info on what actually went down but it seems like leon decided to unhook while injured and slip streamed. They must have been close to dying to on hook or Ada had such a bad chase due to being caught out of position that the unhook was able to be contested. Believe it or not going down instantly to singularity and not healing is a survivor misplay. You can argue this is a solo queue/information issue but either way survivors did not play well.

I think this thread is referring more to the instance where the third Survivor is slugged while the Killer looks for the last one (after the other two are already dead). Mass slugging is a different issue entirely, and when Survivors complain about that, it's more about the Killers who leave them on the ground and let them bleed out for no reason. Slugging everyone and then hooking them is an understandable tactic. Being left to bleed out for four minutes is a huge waste of time. If we've already lost the match, I'd rather end it and go next. So I'd be fine with the option to bleed out faster.
the thing is I’ve yet to meet someone that actually thinks 4 min bleedouts should be a thing or that hatch standoff v2 isn’t problematic.

Yea blight definitely either bottom of S or top of A+ afer the changes, we will see how much it impacts playing loops as to whether it makes him closer to artist or closer to billy/spirit.
I would put billy above spirit however I think that at the very very top level against surviors who know how to play against both killers i think spirit gets a slight edge, just because spirit is always goign to have more reliable chases and also is a killer who doesn't really care how good you are at survivor that much.
This is excluding lopros however, lopros billy is completely broken, maybe better than daughter ring spirit, but otherwise billy is more addon reliant than spirti is, particuarly on engraving.
Average games though billy is better i'd agree.
billy is very oppressive even without his best addons. He can be anywhere on the map in seconds and his cooldown doesn’t really exist with an instadown threat. You are not safe at really any loop against him you just let him eat your pallets so the game doesn’t instantly end.

That's a very narrow argument. Considering how safe the majority of tiles layout + spawns are in this era of DBD. On top of that, Survivors can afford to make mistakes in a chase due to the nature of a 4v1. The Killer cannot. One mistake has the potential to lose the Killer the match.
There aren't as many "safe" tiles as you think even against m1 killers especially when ping exists.

There are not various counters to this. You're wanting every survivor to be forced into a loadout forever to deal with something that shouldn't be happening in the first place. What is the point of perks if were forced to use a specific loadout to deal with something that might not happen? This is why I say many survivor perks should be basekit.
The developers have stated over and over the Slugging isn’t toxic and that it’s part is the game.
They also allowed 1 hook moris, no unhook protections and no anti camp mechanic to be in the game for years before making changes to those things. They can say whatever they want. What matters is the player experience and feedback regarding things in the game. If enough players say something is not right in the game and they make changes to accommodate those things then their opinion on the issue didn't matter.
Why shouldn't slugging be happening? Should killers pick up survivors in front of a survivor no matter what? A mass slug requires survivors to be grouped up, injured, and have insanely short chases w/o multiple strong perks in play that could prevent the snowball. Grouping up injured out of position from resources is a misplay by the survivors why should the killer be punished for bad survivor play?

That is an awful simplification of my suggestions. If I recall, most Blight players didn't like it because it was actually balanced and removed his broken stat altering add-ons.
Some add-ons were perception based, inflicting Oblivious or Blindness; others were focused on pressure, such as inflicting Mangled, or causing Survivors to drop their items. That's fairly standard, but at least its something more tangible and provides interesting strategies rather than running 10% faster.
Here's a super easy add-on I suggested that is infinitely more interesting than the reworked add-ons by BVHR.
- During a Rush, the repair progress of generators can be determined by the intensity of their auras. This is very good for information.
Part of the reason I stopped creating those kind of posts is simply because people don't like change for good, nor do they understand how to approach the balance conversations rationally and with the interests of the game's health in mind.
I'd be very careful giving strong m2 killers hemm/mangled addons nurse getting a mangled addon is criminal enough
-
We're still back to the square one where DS will hurt m1's and do nothing against the S tier killers
-
I think it's more that survivors don't have the patience/coordination to play around her effectively and she has very scary proxy camping potential if she has good pools with duration. There are also some maps that funnel survivors in a way that makes saving very difficult.
