survivor (that’s my main)
suggests Survivors be able to spawn as many as 16 additional pallets into a map
Gee, I'd have never guessed you mained Survivor.
Most Offerings are mostly useless and do need changes, but I don't think adding or removing pallets is the way to go.
I did not suggest that at all. I said max is 5. Meaning if everyone brings a purple, it’s still 5.

How is a T-Rex a hot survivor? What exactly are you into in your spare time??

Killer name could be Menopause.

Sounds like a fun idea. Maybe have it spawn in the basement in the opposite corner of where the chest spawned, and its appearance reflects the buff it gives to the killer. Also, here are some numbers for each effect that I think would be balanced without many other changes.
Movement Speed Shrine: +.2% movement speed for every gen that gets completed.
Generator Regression Shrine: +10% regression speed for every gen that gets completed.
Terror Shrine: Terror radius decreases by 1 meter for every gen that gets completed.
Small numbers, but they can still make a difference.
I like your spawn placement idea. That’d be a great spot for it. Survivors would have to explore the basement to find out what they are up against, which could lead to maybe a better perk than huntress notification perk.

How many pallets are we talking? Stacking 4 of those could be a nightmare for the Killer lol
Brown = 1
Green = 2
Yellow = 3
Purple = 4
and any combination greater than 4 would equal a Red and be 5. I think any more than that would be out of hand, but it’d be a popular killer offering as well.
-
@AsePlayer said:
Either the effects need to be negligible at best or Survivors are gonna need some spicy buffs. Neat idea though.
Exactly. Nothing game breaking, but just a little extra pressure. On the survivor side, some better offerings would be nice, like how’s about an offering to make more pallets spawn, and killer can have one to make less pallets spawn?
-
I’d agree for sure that right now would be a bad time to implement an idea like this. They’d have to wait for the next licensed killer release or something like that.
-
To me there are great possibilities with the killer specific ones.
Huntress can carry one additional hatchet.
Hag can place one additional trap.
Bubba can camp one additional survivor.
-
There is, it’s called losing the match.

No thanks. I'm not waiting a few extra minutes in a load screen for the killer to place totems. That's absurd.
I wouldn’t think it would work like that. Since the killer acts as host for matches anyway, once he hits the ready button, he just waits in map while survivors load into the lobby, once all four are in the lobby, they load in.
-
If the killer spawned in a few minutes early and had to place 5 totems, it could maybe work. But they would have to block certain placements, like inside bushes.

Once again a killer main pretending to be a survivor main pretending they “like the challenge” when in reality its just another killer that actually wants his games to be easy.
Yawn. Its overdone at this point
Your theory about me being a killer main does not make any sense at all. I don’t really enjoy playing killer much. Huntress is kind of fun, but I don’t hardly ever play killer.
I was wrong about my killer ranks. I spent more blood points than I thought trying to get the hex totems.

So u didn’t play dbd for years and have to carry the potatoes teams every day? For me it’s not a challenge anymore that ######### bullshit is only tilting! Every patch red ranks play worse and I hate what the solo q experience had become…
I think I have somewhere around 3,000 hrs in as a survivor. On PS4, I can’t access any stats. Been playing 2-6 hrs a night for almost 3 years.

I like the idea. Specifics need some hashing out.

Solo bait post from a whining killer… nice
Not a bait post, and not a much of a killer. Like I said, I’ve got a level 50 trapper, and I think my huntress is around 25, and my doctor is like 12, and my hag is like 15 because I spent points to get ruin.
Im a survivor main, not a whiny baby main. I like the things that basic survivors don’t because I like a challenge.
-
Get real. That’s a normal experience for inexperienced killers.
Tell me, where on the doll did the two survivors touch you exactly?

Killer mains can like posts too.
Yeah, and bad survivors can pretend like the game isn’t slanted heavily towards survivors right now.
point is, there are too many whiny survivors who complain primarily because they lack skill, and want an easy game with no regard to the killer.
Ive played just enough killer to know how the other side lives. I got my trapper to rank 50, and I’ve messed around with huntress a bit. Can’t get a handle on nurse at all. (Hangs head in shame like nurse after missed blink) This game sucks for killers right now, which is why the devs are finally throwing killers a bone. They were starting to hemorrhage killers.
-
The killer should always have the advantage in this game. Right now, this game is the easiest that it’s ever been since I started playing it. Most games I play, unless against a rank 1 killer end with 3 or 4 survivors escaping in solo queue. Yeah, 1 out of 5 or 6 games, the killer gets all 4, but it has to really suck being a killer right now.
-
@GrannyonAcid said:
If we're going to turn this into a solo queue what really GRINDS MY GEARS, thread. I don't hate getting camped by the killer. Because if they gen rush I completely understand he needs to try and get a kill.
But it's super annoying when you loop a killer around the map for 3-4 gens and your teammates don't even attempt to help you from getting 1 hooked. Feel like it's usually SWF teams that leave you for death too. They're so afraid of losing they have to form groups, and going next to a hook might result in them dying once in awhile. Oh no!
Definitely swf groups that leave you to die like that. I think it’s usually purple rank swf that do that, the reds are a little better about stuff.
-
I say kill the survivors any way you can. Yeah, some killers are toxic, (looking at you Bubba) but that’s what makes this game fun. As a survivor main, winning every match is boring as it can be. So yeah, I don’t want to play against killers where all of them use the exact same strategy. I want to have to outsmart them.
-
@Clevite said:
Some of us have friends. Some of us like to play with them.
Trust me you can still get tunneled, camped, moried as a swf as well. I'd say probably more often.
Look, do you, live you, but why try to put others down that enjoy playing a different way?
I’m only putting down the whiners that exaggerate all the things they don’t like as though they happen every game. You should feel bad if all you have to do is whine about the game. A lot of us love all the aspects that get whined about constantly.
The quality of killer you play against improves as you get out of green ranks, and then again when you get out of purple ranks. Maybe get better, and your experience will improve.
If you want to play swf, go ahead, but quit whining about solo queue. Solo is where the best players play. Swf is a crutch.
-
@Stinde said:
Yep, playing survivor as solo is actually quite good experience and it makes your blood rush in some tight situations, although actually getting scared happens too rarely. Making challenging plays as solo is so rewarding when they pay off. It really makes you a better player and improves your situational awareness when no one holds your hand.
I'm also very tired of seeing claims like "Survivor and especially solo survivor is so horrible because 90% of killers camp and tunnel with ebony mori and NOED!!1!!111!"
NO! This is so false. I see camping rarely and when it happens it's usually in the end game. If the killer tunnels you have DS for that and a good survivor can waste killer's time enough to at least 2 survivors to escape. I see mori maybe in 1/15 games. I see NOED in maybe half of the games and it doesn't even proc half the time and if it procs it's found instantly. As a solo, if you don't have time to cleanse, MEMORIZE the totems you pass by. As your awareness gets better, you will know where the totems are and if you only cleanse three totems you can easily check the remaining two after the gens are done.
At least on PS4 europe most red and purple rank killers are not a**holes and solo surviving is possible and fun. Also I don't BM the killers so that might affect to my experience. That being said SOME survivors should look themselves in the mirror and think what they themselves can do to improve their gaming experience.
Thank you. This is exactly right. Everyone seems to whine constantly that these things happen every game. They just don’t. Most killers are pretty good guys/gals. Unless they are a Bubba. Only about 1% of Bubba’s are good killers. But I still like that when it’s a Bubba, the steaks just went up to not get downed at all. Bubba forces your A game because he will most likely camp you to death. I’m totally fine with this. Also, the slugging thing hardly ever happens. Finally, rank does matter. Everyone can spit all the BS they want, but rank 1-2 are smarter players than those below. I’ve got enough hours in the game to tell you that green ranks don’t know how to loop, they don’t know when to save and when not to, they are afraid to take a hit by a killer.
Basically, good strategy in solo queue starts at red ranks, but you only see the best strategy and gameplay from 1-2’s. Sorry if y’all can’t get there and stay there, but it does matter.

Well this is fictitious bait. But ok.
Not bait. I started playing this game primarily because it was lopsided against survivors. That’s exactly what I wanted. A major challenge that is thrilling and heart pounding. Most of everyone else just wants to escape every freaking match without having to work for it. Most survivors think that having to do gens is working for it. They have no strategy, very little skill, and they are used to playing kids games like fort nite and Minecraft. I for one want a real game without all the fairness bs. I want the experience.

I mean I kinda agree with you in the way that I also enjoy solo survivor in general.
However, I don't really enjoy certain unbalanced aspects of the game, like Moris, and especially not camping, which pretty much takes away my possibility to actually play the game. And all the issues that this game has coupled with the bad matchmaking, I can't blame people for complaining about the solo survivor experience.
I do believe some people exagerrate about how bad solo survivor is, and that by quite a bunch, but still, some complaints are more than relatable, even though my solo survivor experience, in general, is still fun.
It’s quite reasonable to complain about the lobby times, but camping is part of every multiplayer experience since it was invented. It’s a legitimate strategy. It might not be the best, and it sucks for the guy on hook, but it creates a new game type within a game. In a lot of ways, I love campers even though I hate them. There is always the possibility that the psych you face will be your demise.
So don’t let him catch you,
Moris just excite me. Yeah they are unfair, but who cares. It’s a new dangerous adventure. Survival of the fittest. Find the hatch, stun the killer, sprint for all your worth!
The lobby wait times tho...

Hmm yes deranking because of forces outside of my control could be a fun experience, mostly because the devs are scrapping the ranking system and making it official that dbd is a party game.
If you can’t stay rank 1 or 2 in Solo queue, it’s because you aren’t good enough.

Actually I see a lot of killers opposing it on this thread. They probably just misunderstand the implications of this implementation.
I don’t get it. This would be way worse for survivors than NOED is right now.
-
Now you are speaking my language! Let’s go die together!
-
I really like this idea. I think it would be very popular with killers.
-
This isn’t to say it would be easy to obtain a mori, it could be very difficult, that way it doesn’t happen every game. But I suppose at higher ranks it might. I haven’t hammered out all the dynamics of how to make it work, but the concept of an earnable mori seems to be better than offerings.
-
@Cheers said:
If keys are removed, moris should be removed. If this happens then keys should have some nerfs.
I don’t think keys need to leave, I just think they need a new purpose, like maybe they open a loot box that has an avatar costume in it if a special chest happens to spawn.
-
I don’t understand.
-
If you have the fortune crop pants, they aren’t horrible.
-
You can’t camp and hook other players at the same time. You can do one or the other. But you won’t get a mori by camping. They can easily put a proximity drain to your meter the same as with BP. If you camp, your meter falls.
-
If you have made it to rank 1, then switching perks isn’t going to push you back to green ranks. Give yourself some credit. If you want to kick the habit, try out bond, it helps to give you a good sense of where the killer is based on what you see the other players doing. You still have to be aware of your surroundings, and you just have to learn when to commit to a gen, and when to bail. Maybe a stealth build is what you need. Get yourself a blendette, run urban, bond, Q&Q, and dead hard.
-
I love it, except that I don’t want any swimming in dbd. Waist deep at the highest so that it’s all wading. They could do waterfalls that could be hid behind, that would be fun.
-
I like your thought process, hexes should be bad news for survivors. I personally am a fan of them adding skill checks to totems, and adding a hex that reverses controls and reveals aura to the killer for 15 seconds.
-
Banana Peels.
-
They’d definitely have to have a mute button in the quick menu.
-
I think it should be an offering issue like fog. Only this would matter. Killers can put an offering to have more totems, and survivors can offer one for fewer. Each level of the offering could increase or decrease the number by 2, but the base number of totems would have to increase so that there are never less than 3. Personally I am all for this idea of more totems. But I’d also like to see skill checks added to totems, and the entity penalizes you for missing a skill check by reversing your controls and revealing your aura to the killer for 10-15 seconds.
-
I’m ps4 and this is the only reason I hate Freddy. I’ve started throwing pallets down early instead of getting stuns. Seems to help, but his reach is ridiculous.
-
Dark Soul
If there are only two of you left, both of you are injured and on your last life instead of healing them, you can betray them with a mori for instant heal. The hatch’s aura will be revealed for 5 seconds.
-
What if totems respawned in random places throughout the match, that way, a hex like noed is guaranteed to fire up at the end.
I’d also like to see more totems, and make them look different just for aesthetic purposes.
I’d be in favor also of adding a mechanic where you have fast skill checks on totems, and if you miss one, you are punished by the entity. Your aura is revealed to the killer, and all of your controls are reversed for 20 seconds.
I like all your ideas on it btw. I think they would fix a lot of issues.

@Flatskull said:
The game definately needs new items for survivors. Same with new obstacles to put in maps besides pallets.
This be said a bit jokingly but there's nothing wrong with the idea in theory. I mean, keep in mind, these killers are empowered by the entity and the entity can constantly revive the survivors in a new place after they are killed so I can only imagine what punishment all these killers could take. I imagine a molotov cocktail would do nothing to stop these killers.
Although it could be cool to add weapons or new obstacles if they had affects. Like, obviously, a killer hit with a molotov is going to be on fire. Which will make them more visible in dark maps and could maybe reveal their aura in a short radius while the fire lasts.
Although if they are going to do this killers will need some buffs. It would be nice if the blood lust mechanic was reworked to INCREASE when the killers gets stunned or hit or blinded as long as they remain in chase. Especially with the nature of how fast games go and it would make sense a killer would get more angry for blood if they are getting burned, tormented and slapped with pallets.
Absolutely. The killers need the buffs worse than survivors do. But I’d love to see way more interactive maps. Doors you can open and close, booby trapped basements that are bigger and killer specific. I have an idea where the killer could come into the basement which would be way larger, flip a lever, and the door closes. Now you are trapped in their for like 30 seconds, and if he catches you it’s a mori whether he’s got one or not.
-
@SoylentPixie said:
Only if they can be bannana skins. You won't be able to move when it activates while he's chasing you, but you get to watch him slip on his butt and make a clownish parp! sound.
I love this idea. Haha! I am half joking about the molotovs, but all this could be done to add new mechanics.
-
Come on guys. We have to stop the serial killers somehow...
-
For me, nurse is number one, at least the old nurse, before the nerf. Number two is probably Myers, gotta love how he gets survivors running in all directions when they hear that heavy breathing.
-
Im ps4 and it’s just sad that I don’t see her anymore. She was dangerous enough to attract a lot of killer mains, but now she’s pretty much non-existent. :(
-
Rob, this is about aesthetics, not nerfs or buffs.
-
I think keys should unlock special item chests that have rare items in them. Rarity of the item is based on the key you use.
