I am all for a civil discussion and won't use profanity towards you. I have more class than that. Im not going to rage about a video game and stand as a fanboi. Im a customer. I expect a game with a semi decent playing field where both sides have counterplay. Which is originally what made this game an AMAZING title back when they opened up with it. Sure, it had some bugs here and there. But as the game moves on. It gains more luggage that isn't being addressed. What patching doesn't?

My point was never to go out of my way, to prove my own views for selfish gains and skew data.

Maybe you get good RNG from the servers where the world is perfect and do NOT ever have killers that slug. I do. I get them often. Maybe you buy more DLC and the game has a hidden mechanic that considers you a valued customer. While I purchase less. So I get worse games. Tinfoil hat'ing ? I doubt it. But it can be a theory.

Again. Nobody said rage quitting was RIGHT. But here is the matter of the deal. THe fact that it CAN be done, and the FACT that they want to treat DC'ers like this. When there is CLEARLY an issue forcing rage-quitting in the first place.

I am stating. That if a person played this style for the rest of the season. They could essentially disrupt the entire game. Because people would start rage quitting and a person COULD force an infinite que-time issue. The fact is. The punishment can be USED to a person's advantage to disrupt the entire game. SURE, They can ban all they want. But there are people out there with bottomless BANK accounts, hardware and resources to THEIR disposal that can take advantage of this.

You have to remember. THIS IS NOT AN "AAA title video game". Its not Overwatch, its not World of Warcraft, its NOT HALO. It is a SMALL video game. (no offense). We do NOT have a large pool of players. 35k, 40k. That is NOT even close to 1 million active players at once. With a Que time that makes this VERY apparent. and do NOT forget. We JUST got CROSSPLAY. WHen that happens. There is a REASON. It is a VERY small pool of people online RIGHT NOW.

    33,000 people - 1:00pm Pacific TIME.

#1 complaint on the FORUM "I just waited 20 minutes as the killer and could not find a match" HM. I WONDER WHY?

Maybe because the PLAYER BASE HAS BEEN scared off??!.. I just dont think that is the reason. No. its the economy. or no. its the weather.

Im being sarcastic. It is the reason that players have voted with their feet and LEFT> Just like on World of Warcraft. They made the excuse of players bored of the game, but when they re-launched Vanilla WoW. The player base that wondered away and was "bored" came right back.

    I Digress and yield back.

Could be a rank thing, or just bad luck, i don't see many toxic killers. It is bad design for a player to be able to ruin the game for everyone else, but there isn't much they can do about it. Maybe make it so after you are "fully" (95ish %) recovered you can still keep recovering, just WAY slower, or let the first person downed back up if all players are downed. But there isn't any problem with aura perks, so that isn't anything to bother with. Face camping and tunneling is scummy, but there isn't much they can do to fix it, and i wouldn't call it game breaking. They do have perks that help, although they should make DS last until someone else is downed instead of 1 minute. Some parts of the game are rough, but it's not always super easy to fix, and DCing really hurts the team no matter how toxic the killer is, so they can't just not punish it. If people DC that much, something has to be done. But most DCs aren't even to dodge a toxic killer, sometimes they just get outplayed, and rage quit. The Devs have very little information to work with, because they don't play the game as much, and don't see all aspects of gameplay, which is why things seem weak when they come out, then end up strong, or vise versa and have to be fixed (legion, mettle of man, spirit kinda, since she's suddenly a problem, but is the same as when she started.) They all went from 1 extreme to the other, and it shows that the devs don't predict every possible playstyle and interaction.

In no way am I defending a person that leaves the match.

The reason for the discussion is. Is it has become the "norm" for leaving the match as a Strategy. Sure, it is unrealistic. But this problem came about. Because it is the result of underlying causes. As I have posted, at the top of the page. Those are the common reasons to a rage-quit.

Is it appropriate, NO. But dynamics that have been added into the game have changed this title drastically enough. TO push the game into this negative vortex. I mean look at it this way. If I bought Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. N64 for console. If i Turned it on today (cartridge works of course) and started playing the game. WOuld it still be the same game? The answer is "YES". I could turn it on, play the game and still find my Deku shield at the Forest Shop and still fight Ganon the same way, every time. But with online games they shift. Usually for the better.. but for ONLY awhile.

We've reach that point, where the paradigm shift causes these problems and begins flushing out community members. But at the same time. A small game has to remain FRESH. Understable. However large changes carry MORE weight-of-impact than smaller ones.

However examples of UN-addressed changes can have the SAME, if not greater impact.

I just played a match an hour ago. I SLUGGED those survivvors to no avail. DO you really think that they will want to play a match AFTER that? NOPE. Probably not. I told them why I did it and even shared with them a link to this discussion. Sure, they did NOT disconnect. But did they want to "oh yes they did" and does it make an appealing game for them? Probably not now.

We can see this as a HORROR game where survivors have to claw their way, away from DEATH itself. But it doesn't feel like the rush knowing they are now stuck. The fact of the matter is. If they could pull themselves from the brink of Death, up again and get back into the game. Can you imagine how much more that would add to this game? I am not talking about the survivor that is toxic, gets right back up and continues again either.

I guess to sumarize this, End game Collapse NEEDS the first re-work all together and I would bank money on the fact that the other issues such as DC'ing would start to go away.

The game has these mechanics sure, but so what. It's the killers fault if they want to do this. What you're saying is that you intentionally went out of your way to be an ######### just to prove a point. This is a online PvP game, so it comes down to the players to deal with things, not just the devs. Any game like this has the option for 1 person to just ruin someone else's game, and there is nothing you can do about it, so maybe people will DC if this happens. But again, NO ONE DOES THIS. I've never seen a killer go off and slug everyone like an #########. Sure, people have slugged until people die of endgame collapse to be toxic, but how is thag different from a survivor teabagging the exit gate until the killer or endgame forces them out? Most DCs are people who are rage quitting over nothing. Getting camped and slugged sucks, but if the survivor just DCs or kills themselves, they are hurting their team and helping the killer. There is nothing wrong with the game, there is nothing wrong with slugging, the problem is the players. There are tons of perks and mechanics countering different playstyles, if you don't like one playstyle, just don't play, or adapt to it and figure it out. So what if ONE game sucked. Just play again, not everyone is a piece of #########. But the more that people play toxic, the more that they encourage it. If a killer just tunnels and camps, and is an #########, the survivors will just be toxic to the next killer, then eventually that killer starts using NOED and camps and then everyone will start playing like trash. Just deal with the trash, get better at the game, and just move past them, they can ruin one match, but they won't ruin the game.

I use her frequently. Flashlights are just one of many counterplays. I typically just run to the next loop when a Hag loop traps, and then disarm every trap she set in chase after she teleports away. Stepping on her traps intentionally is a counterplay in and of itself. Coordinated squads just have someone run outside of your AOC, rotate trap disarmers, and set off as many as possible when you pick someone up. Her traps can only be in so many places before they won't be stepped in.

After i got good at hag, I've never lost a game with her. Very easy 4Ks EVERY game. Flashlights barely slow me down, and trying to run in and set off traps to "disarm" them always helps me. It's a free hit. I stopped playing her because she was too strong. No one complains about her because no one plays her, and those who do are absolute trash. I play survivor as much as i play killer, and as survivor, I've gone against one good hag, and it was Monto with bodyblocker hag. And he still messed up trap placements sometimes. Point is, no one complains because no one knows how good she is, there isn't a good, consistent example of it, and you can put her traps anywhere, so there are alot of plays you can make. Flashlights are a very soft counter to hag, and have a battery limit. The only thing that i would have a problem with is OoO flashlight, because then he actually knows where traps are, but then again, OoO is like signing a death wish...

It seems like this is exactly the problem, all the things you mentioned can be turned. One mindgame worked against her? Do another one next time. There's no rulebook to win 100% everytime as survivor against spirit. And it's not meant to be there, despite it's existence for most killers.

Every killer, that counter wasn't basic looping got nerfed or will receive a nerf. Old Nurse, Spirit, old Legion. I really don't want to assume things here, but i really want to assume that many people don't wanna adapt.

One last thing for ya, you realizing, that every game, that's not a 4k, is a blackpip? Let me repeat: "every game, that's not a 4k, is a blackpip".

"Every game that's not a 4K is a black pip"

Are we playing the same game? I've double pipped in purple ranks even GIVING the last person hatch. If you can't pip without a 4K, then you're killing them way too fast, or you're getting destroyed and barely catching them at the end. There are 4 emblems and 1 cares about them dying. (And Malicious, but you don't have to kill for that) even killers who just farm can pip if they max out everything and don't kill anyone. So if you NEED to 4K, you are doing something wrong.

  • The trick to getting better is to play both sides. Play a while as killer, and you will see how to play. You'll start to understand how the killer thinks, so you can predict what they might do when you're the survivor, and you can keep an eye out for things survivors do that hurt you as a killer, and copy some of the things they do. If you want to get better at the game, stop worrying about ranks, just throw yourself at the killer, and try to get better at chases. Chases give the most points for pipping if you are good and have at least a decent team, since gens they do count for you if you're in a chase. Once you're decent at chases, just play normally again, and it'll help alot.

Honestly I'd say all of these are possible except the two endgame ones for both killer and survivor. Those ones you need so much luck you're better off trying the lottery.

EDIT: the "sacrifice 4 survivors in the basement" is also pretty bad. I've only managed to do that less than 5 times in my dbd career.

The dark senses thing seems impossible, unless it's just to finish the gen, not 100% progress it, so you could have a good SWF to just 99 gens so you can 'finish' 4 of them.

True Hag is very strong, I honestly just never see her. It would be legit months since I’ve played against one. 🤔

I main hag and I'm really good with her. Perfect hag is as strong or stronger than perfect Billy, just because of loop breaking. I play both killer and survivor, and i agree. I've seen maybe 2 proper hags EVER. The rest just tunnel or camp and put 3 traps in front of a hook when only 1 would do. Ranking of hags= bad:only traps hooks then still proceeds to camp, average: traps generators to keep them down longer good: traps everything good for loops, windows, pallets, gens. Best: traps EVERYWHERE. Perfect traps in non-loop choke points that survivors often go through(making lerys one of her best maps) traps in front of pallets, not in the middle, so they can't hit you with it, and you can body block if you teleport fast enough. A good hag can take 30 seconds to trap everything, and if you see a survivor that's not near traps, don't bother unless they are injured or in a weak spot.

  • I play killer and survivor equally, so if there are any tactics that i hate, i won't do it to the other side. As killer, i only slug long enough to avoid DS, or if i know where the 4th person is to get the instant 4k, not to add another 3 minutes of waiting to the match to try and find the guy or wait for the slug to get saved. And as a survivor, i feel just as robbed when a killer plays like trash all game, and 1 gen is left, and the only reason he got kills is because someone DCd and the other one didn't know how to win a chase, and the guy still got dominated, but can just slug the person to go and find the last guy or the hatch. It's just as bad as a swf killing themselves instantly without doing a generator, and someone still gets hatch. (I think they should go back to the 5 or 4 gens left where the hatch stays closed.)

Both ways, it can suck and rob you of the game, but they can't really fix it. If they do the Husk system mentioned above, everyone will just start to slug for the 4k more, and maybe it helps the slug to dodge out, but the other survivor is stuck waiting longer, and with no other option but to die, or run to a door instead and wait for the hatch to close, then hope they don't get caught.

  • TLDR: survivor sided at top skill level

I'd say it's pretty balanced, but has big map syndrome, which can hurt killers. I play both killer and survivor in low red ranks (rank 4 or 3) but i play survivor more. I think it's kinda survivor sided at top ranks. Someone else said "it's way better for killers because survivors will get lost and can't find gens or totems" false. After 10 times playing this, someone who pays attention would know all the spawns, and like 3 generators have guaranteed locations, and the totems aren't very hidden, it's just a big map. I've seen 2 really good totem spots on that map, and that's it. As for pallets, there are alot of them, and even if they are weak and unloopable, a good survivor can just run through them, putting them all down right away, and keep a long chase. Sure, less pallets for later, (if you actually break them, hurting the first chase) but if one person uses even 8 - 10 pallets, at red ranks, depending on the team, the gens will be done long before the lack of pallets helps you.

there's literally already a perk for that. it even lets you crawl and recover simultaneously.

He's not saying they recover faster, you heal downed people faster is what he meant by that.
