I've been in a long break since July and returned a few days ago, I played a bit the first events, light outs, chaos shuffle, 2v8 and one of a giant Oni smashing survivors and if I remember correctly they used to have an event tome, but this time it doesn't. So why should I play chaos shuffle now if I'm not getting a BP bonus at least? Someone can say me "play it just for fun", but it isn't fun for me, I can play 2v8 just for fun for example, because it is different enough from the classic mode, but chaos shuffle feels like nerfing myself by not chosing my perks and if I'm unlucky enough I can get a No Mither (It happend to me in the first chaos shuffle), so… for me it is more an annoyance than anything because it makes the queues longer due being split in two different game modes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If i remember correctly, BHVR Devs once said they don't want to play with people fobias anymore, as they did with the Clown. So, if a Spider get into the game i believe it will be an anthropomorfic killer rather than a spider in 8 legs.
I hate this kind of paternalism. It is even more nonsensical in a horror game.
-
It should be tweaked or fixed, it simply doesn't work fine rn.
For illustrating a bit: I've had a long break since July 2024 and I started playing again a few days ago, when playing killer I'm more or less ok because I'm killer main, but as survivor I'm pretty rusty, I've been playing in the last 4-5 days and I've had a lose streak of 8-9 matches in soloQ but the MMR keeps matching me with 2K hours killers and honestly my MMR wasn't too high before the break… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
I don't know what time Scott plays, but he probably starts streaming at odd hours in North America, and after an hour, Americans start getting up or coming home from work, and then he starts getting matched with people in his area. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They already buffed other perks like Grim Embrace, Oppression and Surge and nerfed Pain Res, Pop, Hex: Ruin and Corrupt Intervention several times, but they're still too good. Well, except Ruin which was gutted and nobody uses it. And also buffed the base regression (mini-pop effect of 5% a year ago or so), but those perks are still too good and also the people is too used to them.
I'm peronally using Grim Embrace a lot more, it is an underrated perk currently imo.
-
In my opinion the only Coldwin map which needed a major nerf was Cowshed, it was ridiculously unbalanced. In fact it was the map with the least killrate according to some statistics BHVR showed two years ago or so.
Other Coldwind maps were simply too big (specially Rotten Fields).
Also, making the whole realm daytime is a thing I won't never forgive BHVR. Part of its charm was crossing the corn fields at night.
-
Of course now killers use more aura perks, myself for example, that perk was unhealthy in its previous state, reasons:
- Encourage hidding, I won't never support perks which encourage hidding.
- Could counter several killer perks at once all the time (the Lethal Pursuer + BBQ combo for example), because it was so easy to reload the tokens that could perfectly not have them and there would hardly be a noticeable difference.
-
@OneGoodBoyDemo said:
Hex: Two can play exist so probably not. The effect is too insignificant for survivors to bother cleansing.
That perk could perfectly be a regular perk with a cooldown and it wouldn't be OP. Being a Hex perk is nonsensical.

Sadly I don’t see pinhead coming back again, only reason why stranger things returned is because players kept pestering netflix for the license again.
Was that stated by Netflix or Behaviour or just a rumor?
-
I hope you can negotiate it again in the future as happened with the Stranger Things chapter.
And I also hope it will never happen again, take more things into consideration when you negotiate a new license for preventing this.
-
Some of you don't get how significant and game changing is making the survivors spawn within 12 meters each other all the time.
That change is an indirect buff to lethal pursuer, which is already a very good perk for pressure in early game, but also make corrupt intervention a bit less meta.
-
The problem of the devs is not providing the full information and instead providing it in random responses in Reddit. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You can consider the current nerf a soft kill switch.
-
I always liked Skull Merchant, aesthetically and thematically and I'm not lying if I say I was looking forward for a nerf for her, so the survivor stop disconnecting when playing against her and finally have fun playing her. However the nerfs are a bit too much imo. I would leave the two scans and removed the stealth mechanic when placing a drone instead. Please, consider this.

Do you actually have evidence for this or did you just pull that number out of thin air?
It's an exaggerated number I think, but the fact is that those of us who use Nvidia Filters or Reshade is for correcting the brightness and increase the sharpness because TAA make this game too blurry. The ones using that for an extreme level of brigthness and saturation for taking advantage are a minotity of tryhards.
-
No.
If they want to troll and you cannot hook them, then they should stay in the ground bleeding.
I remember when BHVR buffed Boil Over the fist time, a lot of people purposely went to areas which force you to fall and walk a long distance. I started slugging them, I'm sure they enjoyed kissing the ground for several minutes.
-
I'm playing very little lately, because I'm in a break (playing other games), but In the past few days I entered at night three times and the bonus was for killers (Europe here). At night there are a lack of killers because everyone has left the work and are playing with their friends after dinner, In GMT+1, between 20:00 and 00:00 is the better time for playing killer, usually the killer bonus lasts those four hours, sometimes starts earlier and ends later specially at weekends.

Hoader is a bit redundant with Weave and Human Greed.

People getting antsy at Reshade users when DBD lacks graphics settings that were standard like 10 years ago is weird.
20 years ago, or more.
The brightness setting is maybe one of the oldest settings in 3D games.

Have you tried enabling fsr. I noticed on the steamdeck it seems to make the game a bit sharper when I'm playing on the tv. Any game I've played that uses taa looks blurry at 1080p for some reason. Never noticed it at higher res.
FSR downsample the image, the game look sharper but worse in the rest of the aspects. In addition, the FSR version in DBD is old.

Also. Just for reference, let's play a game of which is which. We got a) no Luma Sharpen but AA b) Luma Sharpen but no AA c) no AA and no Luma Sharpen (you probably have to click to open it full size cause otherwise you can't see the difference in the first place…)
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VHGN8A1O8KH2/grafik.png
Do I want to be able to achieve my preferred look (no AA but Luma Sharpen) without having to resort to Reshade? Absolutely! Am I holding my breath it will happen within the next five years? Absolutely not.
Most people I know that use Reshade use it in a way similar to mine. Some adjust the gamma, some colour balance - sometimes to account for their display that is old or calibrated for something else. - Usually you can't even tell they use it if it's not a side-by-side image.
We have to get used to the blurriness, I was a luma sharpen user. The native AA of the game is the TAA, one of the worse implemented in fact. Not using AA is not an alternative, because with the AA disabled the character hairs and grass look too pixelated, specially for the ones playing at 1080p like me. I hope it is reverted back.
-
I only used reshade with a sharpen and a brigtness filter. I know there are people who use reshade for advantages, but I'm pretty sure that most of us used it for tweaking the graphics a bit because the game have a severe lack of graphic settings. Calling us cheaters is a bit too much, and the advantages you get for using reshade is not that high, the highest one is the one which let you see the red stain better and most of the streamers I've been watching since years don't use that filter.
-
The 2v8 game mode was a fail due the insanely long queues for killers.
Some people state that the reason is because it is a killer sided mode, but I think the reason is because it is the first time we can play killer with a friend, a breath of fresh air.
-
This change should have been done years ago tbh, but very good change, sometimes when several hooks are destroyed in a zone you are unable to hook, this was a problem specially in some indoor maps, if the survivors realize you can't hook in a certain place they just go there and you was forced to slug.
-
She is not underrated, she is just boring to play, that's the reason why she is so hard to see.
-
I'm loving her particularly.
-
156, but the only intentional ones are some killer adepts. I'm not an achievements hunter.
-
Complaining about the game being killer sided while not using meta perks when killers usually do is a non sense.
That would be like me complaining because I lose a lot of matches with scratched mirror Myers or my Trapper meme build and saying that the game is survivor sided… 🤣
-
M1 killers are outdated at this point, that's the reason why most of recently released killers have antiloop or anything that help in chase.

Basically a mechanic that got talked about for a while to not make Corrupt Intervention needed, because otherwise especially on larger maps the killer might not even find somebody before a Gen pops.
Scott Jund for example talked about it years ago and it is only a general concept not a concrete idea. Ideas that were mentioned in that context were for example all gens are blocked until a. You enter chase with a survivor b. Someone loses a health state or c. X amount of time passes.
The purpose was to give setup killers some time to do their stuff without losing half the gens while giving low mobility killers the opportunity to find someone and start chase before gens pop.
The debate was dropped and BHVR said that they dropped the concept, there was a time when they apparently thought about something like that.
I've never heard of this version, it is too drastic and OP, survivors need to advance their objetive, not forcing a chase or being injured which is too detrimental for them and feel weird.
The version I heard for is a mini-corrupt intervention which last around 25-30 seconds, just for the survivor not starting to do the generator which is only 2-10 meters from where they started. It seems fair and gives some time to weakest and low mobility killers.

So it seems like we have some more huge nerfs again and I’m sick and tired of the devs nerfing everything that shouldn’t be touched for one the community complains soo much and it’s very toxic. There is no need for any of the gen regression perks to get nerfed plus why nerf Chucky’s scamper considering survivors can dodge his slice and dice it doesn’t make sense. Why nerf background player?? Why nerf Buckle up??? I don’t understand this game anymore like STOP NERFING EVERYTHING. We can’t have a decent 2024 without so many perks and killers getting nerfed for no reason at all.
They nerfed Chucky because it was too easy for him to abuse the scamper and get a lot of free hits. Its nerf is right.
After the nerf he will require a bit of actual skill.

What's your point?
Killers overperform, they get nerfed, so then it's fine if survivors also get nerfed?
Every perk which is too strong of not used for its intented purpose should be nerfed.
-
It is still a bad perk, mostly for the permanent broken status afterward, and also if the perk beome popular the killers will just start to use Territorial Imperative which is a hard counter for the invocation.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/413589/how-is-5-second-ds-too-effective
It's a survivor perk. It does a thing that benefits survivors.
That makes it OP.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3715091#Comment_3715091
5 seconds is too long because you can offensively use it in corners of the map and still get somewhere safe
How are you using it offensively in the corner of the map? If a killer chases you all the way into the corner of the map, downs you and picks you up, they deserve to get stunned for 5.
It is funny that you say "It's a survivor perk. It does a thing that benefits survivors. That makes it OP" when in the same patch a bunch of meta killer perks are also being nerfed.

The entire game is balanced around it being 1v4. The fact that there is 4 survivors and only 1 killer is the weakest argument this forum may have every seen.
Is the best argument in an asymetric game period.
-
@BritneyMitch said:
Yes, they can assuming all 4 survivors brought offerings then they are in the same order as the survivors on the hud. For whatever reason behavior wants one side to see offerings, items, and prestiges in the pregame and the other side to not. It is more of a they never thought to fix it situation imo. There is no good argument a killer can see things like items in the pregame so they can counter them with perks.
There are a good argument. It is one player against four, killer need some pre game advantages. And the reason why survivors can't see the killer is pretty obvious, Survivors would make builds around the killers they're going to face and that would be unfair. For example all survivors equiping Calm Spirit if they see they're going to face the Doctor.

in this video Otz calls out Survivors who give up for every small inconvenience its gotten so worse 9/10 games has someone Dc or give up on hook and Devs aware of broken maps and exploited Perks but refuse to killswitch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kqWbP64FX4
Its time that Devs make drastic changes to the game to stop players from ruining matches everyone is sick of this.
Developers should make it so taking a chance on hook no longers drains the time on hook you just get 2 4% chances and then it disables or take a chance removed in general. 2nd stage on Hook Struggle is removed.
Removing the struggle won't solve nothing, if the struggle is removed then the survivors who want to leave will go and look for the killer to be hooked again and leave.

They're not all that controversial tbh, but here are mine:
Self-care with botany is a top tier perk combo.
I may be biased (since they're my main), but facing The Legion really isn't that annoying. The most annoying Killer in my book is Ghost Face, yet he seems to be almost universally loved.
Looping isn't the be all and end all. Stealthy play like walking around the map and keeping a low profile is an underrated and disrespected strategy (though of course, it's not always the right play).
Noed can often feel unfair at times but that's OK. Doesn't mean it needs to be nerfed.
Made For This wasn't so strong that it deserved what BHVR did to it. I can't remember the last time I saw anyone use this perk outside of a dedicated anti-tunnelling build.
The DC penalty should be capped or removed.
I agree with the Ghostface thing, one of the most annoying killers to play against.
You have to be turning the camera all the time to avoid being marked and a lot of times when you spot him is too late and you are marked anyway. In closed maps he is directly unbearable.
-
All the exhaustion perks should be usable only once after a hook state (like dead hard) + one more time before being hooked at the start of the match.
/runs
-
Considering your ideas, I think a perk for survivor which combine both things would be a good idea, as a "risk and reward" perk. Smaller skill checks in the hook but everytime you hit the skill check the bleeding progression is stopped for 4 seconds or so. I also consider this perk a great idea because the current anti camping perks are reliant on other players, not the hooked one (Camaraderie and Reassurance).
A killer perk for reducing the size of the skill checks is a bad idea and would be a bad perk, nobody would use it, it is a wasted slot and players who more or less know the timings would hit the skill checks anyway and making the skill check size too small would be a bit unfair, specially for newer players and it would result in too many free kills.
-
If you are using it for taking advantage it can be considered "light cheating". If you use it for reducing annoying sounds (survivor screams for example) then it is not cheating.
It is the same as the ReShade filters. I use ReShade for increasing the brightness a bit (only a bit for not losing the terror atmosphere, because the game is just too dark in some maps and you don't see nothing) and a sharpening filter for fixing the high blurriness of the TAA. But I've seen some people using filters which increase the brightness to a level in which you almost have to use sunglasses while playing and fiters for making the killer red stain too bright for detecting the killer more easily, it can be considered a kind of cheating, but not as the same level as a player flying or running at higher speed of course.
-
The best thing of Adrenaline is that gives you a free health state and it remains the same, well, not when you are unhooked, but it had no sense at all.
-
Overtuned in fact.
The easiest projectile killer and also having teleports.
Hitting through walls is lame.
You have to stare at him for ages for removing the power, colliding with objects in the proccess unless you are lucky and spawn in a low cluttered map.
I despise him tbh.

Invocation is one of the worst perks in the game. Every perk is in the game for being used if the player please but I can understand some people getting angry when someone is using a perk which is detrimental for the team. Invocation is like No Mither but worse, you are practically useless until you finish the invocation and after that you are a No Mither user but without the bonuses very susceptible for tunneling and getting killed pretty early.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Off the Record for Survivor. It is not 80 seconds of Endurance, it is as much Endurance as the Killer allows. Could be a long time, could be 1 second when hit right after the Unhook. Terrible Anti-Tunnel Tool since none of the effects do anything against tunneling.
For Killer, Bamboozle (not sure if this can be called Meta). I think it is just a Perk which makes Killer players play worse because instead of trying to mindgame structures, they just vault a Window and block it.
It is not overrated. It is very good and "mandatory" in the two chainsaw killers, in Myers it is good because synergizes with its power and in Wraith it is good because synergizes with Shadow Dance addons. Aside those killers almost nobody use Bamboozle.
-
I usually stay close to the gates for opening the gates and tanking a hit when other team mates go to unhook. If the unhook fails then I leave, I only go to unhook if the success is almost guaranteed.
When there are NOED and/or the killer is a good camper I leave.
Some time ago I used to go for risky saves, but a lot of them ended saving the team mate but me dying and the team mate not even thanking me in the endgame shat so I stopped taking risks in endgame.
Another reason is because I don't want to lose MMR for increasing the probability of getting better team mates in soloQ.
In other words, the community made me start to be a bit more "selfish" in endgame.
-
I play in PC and I want it to be removed.
It seems that none of us have what we want, haha.
I don't care the possibility of saying "gg" tbh, removing the possibility of insulting/crying is more important.
-
@Shirtless_Myers said:
The devs want an unbalanced game that caters to killers and treats solo queue like fodder. They're aiming for 60%+ win rates on every killer. It showcases that they don't care or want a balanced game. They feel that a killer should load into a match and expect the win regardless of this being a PvP game.
50% killrate is "balanced" but not good for the game. 60% kill rate means that sometimes three or four escape and sometimes three or four are killed, it is in the sweetspot between too many 4K and too many 4 escapes, 10% extra of kill rate over 50% is not that bad. Balancing the game for a 50% killrate means that a lot of matches are a "tie". Also a lot of you forget that this is an asymetric game, the single player of one of the sides need little advantages, also when you kill three survivors there are still one survivor winning, even if the team as a whole lost the match.

Then you're tunneling, and have no issues with it. Not a big deal.
The word "tunneling" is a reference to "tunnel vision" which is term that means focusing only in one thing and ignoring everything else, so if you are not actively focusing an objetive but by chance you see the objetive again and hook him/her then you are not tunneling, it is as simple as that, it is not debatable because that is the definition of the term itself.
