The state of the discord currently has way to many children (mainly chronically online tik tok users) going back and forth with one another trying to either bully or ragebait or randomly bring up topics to be bigoted for attention. Had to leave because it became too toxic of a place for a normal discussion so I'm sad to see the forums are being retired now.
This also describes the Steam forums.
-
C3Tooth: funny fanarts.
GeneralIV: the most prolific supporter of the old Freddy (I still miss that Freddy despite being more or less fine since the last rework).
-
On one hand, it makes me sad; I’ve been here since 2019, though not continuously. On the other hand, I hadn't felt comfortable here for a while, and I felt like I had to excessively self-censor after being temporarily banned two or three times over trivial nonsense.
-
Let's be honest. Nobody of you care about new players, you're just angry because a perk which let you play in autopilot mode has been nerfed. The pick rate of WoO was very high, it was picked by a lot of people (newbies and veteras), and it had the potential of becoming a bad looper into a decent looper. Now you must learn the tiles and explore the map a bit. When the perk was buffed in the past I refused to use it because I knew it wouldn't let me improve as a looper and would be nerfed eventally (in fact the nerf came too late imo).
-
How many months since they teased the Skull Merchant rework? Six at least. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I liked to play her, she was maybe in my top 5 most played killers. It would be nice if the rework finally come with the Quality of Life initiative update. Not a big fan of the drones becoming hunting machines instead of zoning tools but I want to try her anyway.
-
I don't get why the devs released a more punishing DC penalty now that we have bots.
I mean, the bots are better than the average 500 or less hours survivor, which are like the 60-70% of the playerbase. They're efficient at reparing, mindgames don't work against them because they have wallhacks and they're good at dodging a lot fo the killer powers. Most of the times the DC is more a gift than a curse for the team.
The previous system was ok.
-
Most content creators I watch said that the changes were good and only needed the numbers being tuned down for being too punishing for the killers.

I almost wish they were never added because for a moment, I got excited to play survivor.
I wish they were never added because it is another useless item cluttering the survivor bloodweb instead of more medkits or BP offerings.

If I remember correctly, there are an addon for this.

That’s my problem, why is it ok for Nurse to be this powerful but no one can ?
But at least Nurse isn't piss-easy to play so she is a more niche killer, only seen frequently in high MMR.
-
If they give him the actual Captain Kirk mask instead of the TEMU cheap copy that he has always had in DBD it would be enough for me.
-
The thing is I don't get why they delayed these new features when they only needed tweaks to the numbers in the PTB. At least they should've pushed out the new feature of the hidden hook states, which is the least controversial feature, while they tweak the rest of them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
I only like it as killer because playing with another killer feels refreshing, specially if you have a friend to play with, but the killer queues are insanely long, I know you can play other modes while you're waiting but playing another game mode to kill time while I'm waiting isn't appealing for me.
Survivor gameplay feels the same despite the class system, just with 4 more team mates.
-
I don't think nerfing the purple bottle and buffing the yellow bottle will make people use the yellow bottle more, it'll just make the people playing less with the clown. The purple one is his signature power, the only type of bottle he had before the rework. If you force people to use both bottles for being effective it will make him more difficult and less people will play him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Just let the people use only the purple one if they want, even if it is suboptimal it felt good anyway, like the old clown with a single type of bottle. The good players use them combined anyway. Also the latency make the bottle switching fail sometimes and this issue will be more noticeable.
-
It already happens.
If you stay in a tough match you trigger more score events and get more BPs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Imagine the amount of new players that arrived with the release of FNAF chapter and left the game because they were punished for playing bad.
BHVR released the most successful chapter so far along with the "Go-Next prevention" debacle, a brilliant move, haha.
-
It was very expected that the remedy is worse than the disease tbh.
I think they should just remove it and keep only the anti-suicide on hook measures.

How though? Are you just meme'ing all the time or are you new'ish? I'm using the vigil sprint build and I don't even have to play good to get 60% escape rate on that… No offense, just trying to understand.
Because I though my scape rate was 20% or so. Not my main role and playing soloQ 99% of the time.
-
The only thing I don't like about it is that Scracthed Mirror Myers is dead, other than that, it's a blessing.
-
I kinda agree, but because I'm a bad survivor (not my main role).
In other worlds, a lot of killers lately seems designed to be countered by more or less good players (unless the killer player is very bad).
Bacasically I only enjoy playing against M1s with very few exceptions, Wesker being one in fact.
-
My escape rate being 44%
-
Boons are a failed new feature, that's the reason why we don't get more I think.
The only good one was Circle of Healing and was nerfed to the ground. The rest are not bad per se but they're too situational to worth a perk slot.

Take a look at the fate of Skull Merchant if you want an answer to that. She was unfairly persecuted for doing something unique and different and requiring more than a single brain cell to deal with, and now is the absolute worst killer in the game.
We aren't allowed to have nice things anymore. Just dashes and projectiles. BHVR is basically telling people that if you don't like those particular play styles, you should just quit.
Tbf, Skull Merchant is currently in a state which we can call a "soft killswitch", i.e. nerfed to the ground while they rework her again. If I remember correctly, the devs themselves said that they left the Skull Merchant in that state while they work in a proper rework.

Survivors have two more categories for points/emblems aside Objetives and Survival, which are Boldness and Altruism. Saying that the only objetive in the game for survivor is repairing gens and escaping is simplifying the things a lot. Sure, you can equip Prove Thyself and Toolboxes if you want, but saying that being attached to a generator like a limpet and escaping with 16k points and bronce or no emblems at all for Boldness and Altruism is not correct. I can understand new survivors trying to hide and repair ASAP, but after a given mumber of hours I don't get why some people think that holding left clic and pressing space only is the peak gameplay.
Chases are hands down the most fun parte of the game for both sides.
-
The bloodpoints spending just need two more things for being perfect and I hope they release it in the future:
- A checkbox for selecting which rarities you want to prioritize, because if you want ultra rare addons you still have to do it manually, for example.
- A summary showing the items you have received and how many of each you earned when have spent a bulk of bloodpoints.
-
I like the Singularity one but just for using the body combined with other skins, I don't like the Monitor head and the weapon is mid. The body however is cool, specially for the light sphere embedded in the belly.
-
"How many times do you only play a certain killer because you want to do the daily and feel like you're up to the challenge? Or how many times do you play a Survivor you normally never touch and don't have that many syringes on or something because a daily? Exactly. That's just gone now as a concept. Now whoever plays the sweatiest can grind out their generic Milestones faster and faster. Optimizing the game even further in terms of sweat"
In my opinion, the worst thing of the old ritual/challenge system was being forced to play specific killers and survivors, specially in the case of some killers in which you needed to play several games for completing the daily or the challenge.
-
It Should Be
DRAW DRAW DRAW DRAW
Or
LOSS LOSS LOSS LOSS
DRAW LOSS DRAW DRAW is survivor biased, idk why the devs who designed it didn't come to the same conclusion. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He is in the same situation as Twins, more or less, strong killers whose are overlooked because they're not popular, so most people don't know how strong they're.

I made this list based on NightLight’s data. Not surprised to see The Ghoul at #1, but was a bit shocked to see these 5 being the least played:
- Demogorgon – 1.17%
- Artist – 1.09%
- Hag – 0.88%
- Skull Merchant – 0.85%
- Twins – 0.74%
What do y’all think of this?
I'm not surprised at all with the bottom ones, well, only Demogorgon surprise me a bit.
Artist - very high learning curve to use properly, not a free starter one.
Hag - boring.
Skull Merchant - currently Tier D after the nerfs, pending rework.
Twins - hard to use properly and boring.

I mean, "some" just is Wraith and Plague now (I think we all agree that Trapper should keep the default chase themes). I nonetheless agree that their themes are long overdue.
I only agree with the Trapper case if they put the same music for survivor and killer POV, like the rest of the killers.
Also, I think Plague is the only original killer who didn't get her own chase music in her tweaks patch. Even Hag, one of the killers with the lowest pick rate, got her own chase music.
-
I can understand Pig, Bubba and Freddy cases, because maybe there are some license reasons preventing them getting new chase musics.
But some of the original and older killers I don't understand why didn't they got new chase musics at this point. My main problem is not the chase music from the survivor POV, my problem is the chase music from the killer POV. I started playing the game in 2018 and never liked the chase music from the killer POV, specially one of them sound too goofy in my opinion and all of them are very uninspired and they aged like the milk in the sun in July. Also, after seven years playing they have even became annoying.

- When you heal another Survivor, for each hook state they have, heal
30/40/50% fasterand gain+3/3/3%progress for succeeding great skill checks.
Behaviour released "We'll make it" again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- Duty of Care:
- When you take a protection hit while healthy, all other Survivors within
16/16/16 metersgain25/25/25% Hastefor4/5/6 seconds.
- When you take a protection hit while healthy, all other Survivors within
A perk for premades, middle finger for soloQ players again.
- Rapid Response:
- When you do a Fast Locker Exit, you suffer from the Exhausted status effect for
30/30/30 seconds. - When you gain Exhausted, you see the Killer's aura for
1/1.5/2 seconds. - Exhausted prevents one from using perks that cause Exhausted.
- When you do a Fast Locker Exit, you suffer from the Exhausted status effect for
Kinda ok, but does not justify spending 9.000 iri shards.
- When you heal another Survivor, for each hook state they have, heal
-
Let's see if at least the trinckets -> BP exchange is good when the event is over (It won't)
-
At this point and considering the huge amount of perks the game already have, they should remove the Shrine of Secrets and just let us buy any perk with iridiscent shards. The only exception maybe the ones of most recently released characters.
-
I don't get why nerfing Pentimento, that nerf feels a bit arbitrary, that perk wasn't meta. I tried using that perk a lot of times, specially the first few weeks after the release, and it was only good when combined with other two or three hex perks or combined with Plaything and it was a good way to not remaining perkless when all the other hexes were cleansed and most of the times the pentimento totems were destroyed in the first two minutes after litting them. Also the five totems at once and blocked didn't happen a single time.
-
Several killer powers don't work with the new type of gens. Freddy, Pig, Houndmaster and I didn't try if Knight's guards cannot kick the, but I guess not.
None of the generator perks work in the new type of gens.
The new type of generator is completed too quickly.
Maybe I'm wrong, but since the event started, the only new interaction of the killer with the event stuff is destroying dropped cans (kicking new type of generatour doesn't count obviously).
So yes, it is objetively a survivor sided event.
-
@Reinami said:
Would you rather go against nurses doing the same?
None of them, but the current problem is the ghoul, which is curently OP and the problem is aggravated by how spammed he is. It seems as if the stars have aligned to make the event a horrible experience, very bad timing on Behaviour's part to release an OP killer at same time of a BP event.
I've played this morning and out of 10 matches only 3 weren't against the ghoul, I'm even starting to hate him and his damn laugh.
-
-
We can finally save enough BPs for prestiging a new unlocked character to level 3 in one go.
-
Because he has the funniest scream in the entire game.
-
It feels like a cash grab indeed.
It is the same case of Mettle of Man debacle with Ash, but this time it is a killer instead of a Perk.
What a coincidence that it always happens with paid content.
-
In my opinion DnD is less fitting in DBD than Tokyo Ghoul, specially the two survivors (maybe that's the reason why nobody play them), but nobody claimed it. People who are not into anime simply hate anime for no reason or because they consider it a hobby of weirdos (I'm one of the anime enjoyersl).

This one is about elevation and i agree with you on. It should probably fizzle going up like it does when it goes down. But this is more likely a bug rather than an inteded interaction.
Why you agree when there are elevation and not the other case?
They're exactly the same thing but vertically instead of horizontally.

Hard to say without seeing the killers PoV here. As again, its a hitscan attack that doesn't line up with the animation. The killer might have click the button before the survivor rounded the corner but due to ping and the animation not lining up it looks weird.
https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/1jre6ie/excuse_me/
Ok, here is a similar situation from two different PoVs, killer and survivor (different floors free hit).
Just no, it is wrong, no hitscan or stuff, it is just an unfair bad design.
-
@Reinami said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3904164#Comment_3904164
Its because the animation doesn't line up with the actual attack.
The attack is hitscan, meaning that it travels instantly, but if you have a tiny part of your arm or head or something exposed, it counts as a hit.
They intentionally did this because the killer would be extremely hard to play on console otherwise. And as part of that, the 1st hit is easy, and the 2nd is not, due to the fact that he can't actually down with his power.
No:
https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/1jrgnsd/i_want_kaneki_to_not_be_nerfed_as_much_as/
No tiny part here, killer come two seconds after and hit a survivor which is 1m away from the window, I even doubt for it being a ping issue.
-
In my opinion, most of the changes are good, there are just one I don't like at all: survivors getting aura reading when disabling a drone, that's too cheap, devs mentioned "risk and reward" but what risk? the drone disabling minigame is ridiculously easy, it has almost 0 risk to be honest, so it is mostly free aura reading all the time.
It have two solutions: becoming the minigame something more difficult for being a true risk (a succession of skill checks like merciless storm for example) or just disabling the aura reading.
-
It is a shame, almost 50% of the times I play Myers is using that meme build. Most of the games result in four survivors escaping, but I don't care.
At least we can use the offering and cross fingers for the 20% chance. I have a good stock of scratched mirrors and indoor maps offerings in Myers.
-
They tried to fix this kind of thing with that awful "hit validation" update a few years ago and was proven that the cure was worse than the disease. Then they disabled it (or made it less strict, idk).
It feels really bad when playing survivor and you get a pokos after a vault, but it is a necessary evil.
Reasons:
- Making a strict hit validation would result in even weaker M1 killers, which are already the weakest type of killer.
- It would shake up the balance a lot and would need further changes in a lot of other aspects of the game, because the killrate would decrease, a lot of the M1 hits are through windows.
When I play survivor I almost always use resilience for addresing it a bit.
-
Killer - kill at least three survivors.
Survivor - escape
