https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1925385412?t=00h56m26s Ok, please tell the best players from Elysium and Eternal to do that too. They couldn't do 5 gens against this killer.
And this is with the so called " balanced addons " .
Y’all really need to stop using tournaments as your “proof” in arguments. Those players can make any killer loop OP.

I understand your thought process, but you not taking an otherwise preventable hit at 5 gens means that you've already taken steps to solving the problem of someone being on death hook with 1 gen left. They can't be on death hook if the game is over because the killer didn't down anyone until 3 gens popped.
I get that too, but I do not need to throw shack at 5 gens to get a 3 gen chase. I can take the hit and make distance to other tiles instead after looping the shack window until it blocks.
But generally the theme I see is people who are inexperienced at looping throw it immediately without attempting to loop the window, and go down soon after anyway. They are the same survivors who will drop a pallet RIGHT after getting hit instead of just saving it and using their distance to go to another tile. THAT is my biggest survivor pet peeve.
-
Really just depends. 9/10 times I’ll just down them and leave them slugged for pressure but allow them to live a little longer.
-
I will always take a hit over dropping shack early. You never know if somebody is gonna need it at 1 gen left and they are on death hook. Healthy me at zero hooks and 5 gens does not need to drop the best pallet on the map.

What if they rework this add-on to be very fun to use. You will out from numbers
Given their track record with reworking addons, it probably won’t be. But chances are I’ll still have a couple hundred. I’ve been playing a ton of SWF lately over killer.

650 rings huh, damn 😶 Sounds scary
Yes haha, I’ve been flying through them because I know it’s coming soon. I used to never use them and just horde them up.
-
Thank goodness. I still have like 650 rings to go through before they are made useless. 💀

Soooo using a flashlight as intended, according to you, is “abuse”…. You cannot “abuse” mechanics or items that are purposely in the game.
Also, literally just face a wall. Flashlight are so easy to counter.

I’m a completionist so I’ll always buy every killer, but I will not touch knight, dull merchant, or singularity outside of the one time for adept.

They never have evidence. If they do, it is like a perkless trapper playing their first game.
Killer mains pretend survivor is easy because they want killer to be a 4K simulator. And it is that.

Upload it then?
Enthrall us poor survivor plebs with your elite looping skills.
Yall are both welcome to dm me and we can set up a lil 1v1, and I’ll post the results. 🤷🏻♂️

Blame that really on survivors being overnerfed. There is literally nothing survivors can do except hold W. Half of the killers forces all pallets and stealth to be non-existent or causes them to be totally ineffective.
I just finished a game running a demo for 5 gens using good old fashioned looping. Survivors are not “overnerfed”. They are in a very good spot imo.

It's so funny how some people act like playing Nurse or Blight is some task that requires godly skills or talent. If you have any experience playing video games you'll get the hang of them after a few tries. If you've never played a game in your entire life you might struggle for a while but it's not that difficult. I don't understand the notion of "Nurse/Blight is so hard they can be as OP as they wish." It's silly.
Then why isn’t blight’s kill rate sky high? Riddle me that. Please enlighten me why he doesn’t have a 90%+ kill rate if everybody can hop on him and dominate.
@mecca said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3544370#Comment_3544370
I mean, but it is OK for players that know how to exploit Blight to bully survivors?
Signs of unbalance when most can't win against something.
It’s very obvious you are the survivor I am referring to.
-
@Venusa said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3544311#Comment_3544311
So what? Nurse also had and still has a lower kill-rate. It didn't mean she wasn't extremely powerful and didn't need any changes. Flawed argument.
So then you nerf them and make them even HARDER for people to try and learn to play. Many many players will play a game of blight, get bullied, never land any hits, and never touch him again.
@mecca said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3544311#Comment_3544311
That is not an indicator of balance. After you have some experience with him and know how to exploit him, there is nothing survivors can do. Hence why players are literally winning thousands of matches without losing. He is broken.
“Nothing survivors can do” is farrrr from true. Most survivors just lack the skill/knowledge to counter him. And it’s not “players”. It’s one dude, and I would argue it was less of a showcase of blight, and more so hard tunneling at 5 gens. Not to mention a majority of the games were won during the gen kick meta.
-
@Coffeecrashing said it perfectly. And this video clip doesn’t prove anything. That survivor made the worst choice of pathing possible. He could have 100% avoided that.
90% of players can’t play blight for nothin, and his stats reflect that. Outside of his 2 problematic addons, his basekit is completely fine.

Care to elaborate? In a normal medium sized loop you have the basic curving capabilities to skip a bounce, or the speed and Adren Vial to afford 4 bounces.
Blight Normal Medium pallet loop (with optional bump fatigue delay add-ons)
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LLKSJGEYWZFA/blightexample1.png
Blight Adren Vial Medium pallet loop
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RQJUGGHWZQOE/blightexample2.png
In both circumstances if they drop the pallet early, the Blight simply bumps off of the pallet, then breaks it on the 2nd rush instead. That arguably makes him a better pallet shredder than the likes of Bubba/Singularity/Demo/Nemmy.
This is assuming the tile has reliable collision. Reworked Auto haven loops? Terrible. Red forest loops? Terrible. Yamaoka loops? Absolutely awful. The collision on most of these maps is either extremely sticky or nonexistent.

Thanks guys, but I don't think that's the reason, because if spirit, for example, was 4.6 you would say the same thing, and it does very well even though it's 4.4 and Blight is much more powerful than it
I would really like to see a PTB testing Blight in 4.4 to see if it changes anything, but I thank everyone who took the time to respond, I'm happy to know that people like to help answer questions, you're really cool ^^
We wouldn’t say the same thing, because it wouldn’t be true? Spirit’s power can be used in literally ANY situation, at ANY tile.

The only time a Blight can't use their power is a small rock 'loop', and by that I mean no pallet exists, so its a hit for Killer eventually no matter what. Normal 5 bumps allow for pinballing into a hit at all medium sized loops, and small loops (like the tent+2crate new loop on farm maps) are too small to matter.
This is far from true.

I would play Baldur’s Gate but I don’t have a PS5 yet lol. But when I do I will check that out as well. So yeah playing other games does help a lot as well.
Baldur’s gate is PHENOMENAL. Highly recommend.
-
I play a lot less lately, especially with BG3 out. Still play a couple games a day maybe. I’ll come back full time when the next big patch drops.
-
As stated above. 4.4 killers have powers that can be utilized In every single situation. Blight does not.
-
I’ve been doing just fine with xeno.

What about punishing console players who have a mechanical handicap and not a skill handicap?
PC players can just click on what they want to kill and it dies, see Huntress/Nurse/Trickster/Deathslinger.
Console players have to fight against joystick unsensitivity and will miss the majority of M2's.
PC players aren't going to be affected because they land all their hits anyway, 50% reduction on zero missed hit slowdown is still zero missed hit slowdown.
I promise you it’s not as simple as “click what you want and it dies”.
PC does not automatically make you good. There are tons of terrible pc players, just like there are tons of good console players.

I’m jealous of how much y’all get blight. Everybody seems to get him over and over again. I see him maybe once every 10 games.

Yes, I’m well aware of that. Lol

I've seen it. That one person hasn't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It's been rare for me to but I've definitely seen it.
I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. I’ve seen it too. But to say the DBD community is far more toxic than other games is false. This community is very mild compared to others.

Only thing I can possibly think of is console just being a more toxic community in general. Most people I see talking about major toxicity are usually on console.
Maybe, idk. Console players can send me messages, as well as PC players in the end game. I just don’t see this aggressive toxicity they talk about. Tbags and hits on hook sure, but nothing that’s “abuse”.

DBD is still the only game where I've been DDOS'd for hours on end, had to make a list of names to avoid else it would happen again and had to permanently appear offline.
DBD is also the only game where I receive death threats on a regular basis.
DBD is an EXTREMELY toxic game, more so than anything else I've played.
Not gonna lie, this feels dramatic. I’ve been playing DBD from the start, and have never been ddos’d. I also don’t see death threats ever. This community is very mild and I’d even say mostly positive. Games like call of duty and R6S are games that you see toxicity every single match. DBD is nowhere near that.
I play every single day. I play alch ring blight majority of my games, one of the more hated builds. I also stream and advertise my channel in game. Why would I not be experiencing any of these things that you do?
-
Literally, turn your own chat off and your problem is solved.
-
It’s going to be fantastic having 4 perks on blight finally. :D
-
Blight, easily. Blight has more skill expression than any other killer in the game BY far and I love the skill level I’ve reached with him. Never is a game dull when you constantly go for fun techs / hits.
Blight also counters the most boring part of survivor gameplay, holding W. I don’t kick gens, and I don’t have to worry about dealing a w key holder. Just throw on aura perks and it’s constant chase all match.
-
Hopefully it’s fixed quickly. My favorite fun build lately has been a beam save build.

Pyramid head and artist counter it.

Yes… but there isn’t STBFL in this build. ):
I know! I’m just saying, STBFL + RB is super strong with an m2 that allows you to never lose stacks.
-
Don’t sleep on rapid brutality on xeno. Pair it with STBFL and it is soooo strong.
-
Personally haven’t seen a single one.
-
My group doesn’t do the whole toxic SWF thing. It’s always “ggs” in the chat and we go next no matter how the game went or how the killer played. No reason to be mean on the game.

If you are in that high MMR area, then you're in the minority of the overall playerbase. The devs have pretty much always looked at the player experience of the largest portion first, then the newbies, and then after that maybe y'all. Maybe.
So if veteran players like you (and to a lesser extent me) can think of the overall group like they do, some of these tests & changes begin to make more sense.
I can’t say for certain if we are high mmr or not, but we are a SWF of vet players and our escape rate is pretty high, so I’m just assuming. But I’d assume lobby dodging a p100 survivor would occur much more frequently with killers who aren’t as good.
But I understand your point. That’s valid. I hope at the very least they make it an optional setting.
-
@JPLongstreet said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3536910#Comment_3536910
While this is certainly true, think about it this way:
They have a list of reasons why players dodge lobbies, thereby messing up the matchmaking. You go one by one and see what can be done about it realistically, test things out, & try to remove reasons to dodge or shop around.
To be honest, I really don’t get dodged much playing survivor, and I run with multiple p100’s in a SWF. I think it’s a difference in MMR. People getting dodged a ton are probably sitting in a lower MMR. I really do not see it often.
-
@Beatricks said:
Nuke his addons and remove hug tech. Should be fine.
I'm getting the popcorn ready to see how BHVR messes this one up.
Oh 100%. If they try to make basekit changes or collision changes, I foresee a hugeeee mess. Lol
-
I’ve personally barely seen this perk. Maybe once or twice?
-
Damn, I still have about 750 alch rings to use. Gotta blow through them before they are nuked!
-
”sorry guys, since you wanna play with friends, we’re gonna punish you and make you wait 2 hours for one match.”
-
It should be an option. I hate the test. I much rather prefer to see prestige and mine to be shown. I didn’t grind p100 to just hide it. Hell, show my killer prestige too.
Also, think it’s extremely stupid it’s hidden for SWF too.
@Skoegul said:
I was also selected to test this and I love it.
It prevents killers from dodging lobbies, obviously, but it also makes me go into a match a lot more open-minded because you literally don't know what to expect. You're not automatically avoiding the P100 player but they get to surprise you with their level of skill just as much as you get to surprise them. Which I feel is entirely fair. Survivors have no idea who their killer is. They don't see the player, the character, their prestige or loadout while survivors are laid bare from the start. So it's fair to at least hide prestige levels until the end screen.
It does not prevent lobby dodging. Killers and survivors will dodge for many more things other than prestige.
-
I run my p100 Nea every match. I don’t think I get targeted anymore than when I play other characters. I honestly get left alone CONSTANTLY. Many of the killers don’t even try to chase me, and go find a weak link.
Only exception is jingle Dwight… killers HATE jingle Dwight. 😂
-
I don’t dodge based on the audio cues. I dodge based on most likely time of attack, and it works probably 75% of the time. And the hitbox is skinny, so you don’t have to dodge much.
-
Accurate representation of what the forums can be like sometimes. 😂

Perks that depend on the opponents ping are almost never good.
Then why was DH still the most complained about perk for ages? Even after DH for distance was removed.
