  • My only experience with Knights has been 3 campers and 1 who gave up. The campers I just did gens while they stood there and the one who gave up quit after 3 gens and just stood in basement. I messaged in post if they were okay but never got an answer. I hate it when killers give up, it reminds me of my first time as killer and couldn't do anything.

  • Hate to use Smite as an example, but they use quickchat. Something like "Press Q for a menu of 6 options for quickchat"

  • I'm not endorsing smurfing at all. Please don't jump at me.

I do exactly as InvadeGames says, I lose matches on purpose because I hate sweaty survivors. But with me, it comes at a cost. Everyone in my matches get hooked twice and then let go free. I avoid death hooks like the plague. I've had more grateful survivors for this playstyle, even as Legion. Sure my MMR is 6 feet under, but I'm not stressed, I still get a pip, and newer players can learn. But, and I mean a big But, this works for me. I will never get better against the meta, I will never make everyone happy. You get out what you put in.

I really hope you find a good balance and remember to take a break from the game. Go for a walk or play with the bots. GLHF :)

    1. Nurse: Maybe I'm a weak little baby boy, but I HATE the after effect of blinking. It makes me feel uneasy to the point where I try to avoid dailies with her blinks.
    2. Trapper: Traps take too long to set up and usually 90% of the time for me, they never pay off.
    3. Huntress: A survivor could be 2 feet in front of me and I'd still miss with the hatchet, even on mouse and keyboard.
    4. Hillbilly: Chainsaw just can't work with my smooth brain. I try the revving and it just fizzles out and/or I launch headfirst into a wall.
    5. Ghostface: Bro, I want to love you. You make stealth fun, but holy smokes, I cannot for the life of me hit a perfect stalk.

inb4 just git gud, but these dudes make me hesitate before jumping into a game.

  • Its kinda fun thinking of perks and powers for licenses that I want. Like Lobotomy Corporation, Getting a Nothing There killer or my new obsession, something from World of Horror.

Still surprised we didn't get something for Dying Light. A literal game about escaping horrors using parkour.

It's the whole "horror game made for kids" shtick. I make an exception for certain FNAF games because they did it first and they actually take themselves more serious.

I actually got interested in DBD when Pinhead was being teased and everyone kept saying it was Springtrap and for that while, it was fun. So much speculation and theories. My hype for Springtrap kinda died after Security Breach because that version of Springtrap didn't add anything and people had taken a liking to Vanny(?) instead.

  • I really support it. Making it based on everyone escaping, I've seen more people being more helpful on unhooking others.

Killer side, I try not to kill but still get pipped, so that's cool too. I don't feel stressed to get kills.

  • Maybe I'll eat my words later, but I'd rather see Nurses and Blights than Ghostface and Myers. I die on the inside when I see a survivor with the red ring or the Halloween jingle.

Lots of survivors say that killers CAN'T criticize survivors doing gens fast because it's "their objective". Would you also agree that survivors can't criticize killers for maximising their efficiency in killing survivors because that's their objective too?

If you agree with that statement, then fair deal. If not, then I would like to hear your thoughts and rationale for why not.

Buddy, I'm in the camp that camping, slugging, and tunneling, while unfair strategies, are still strategies. Heck, there are killers made for those purposes. I'll be salty still if I get tunneled out, but that's still a legitimate part of the match. But like I said, doing gens depends on the situation as a whole. Obviously someone new is going to get me to help them farm points, no sweat.

  • I'm going to try and be as respectful as possible. A majority of the time it depends on the situation.

Chill out with the gens: I'm sorry but no, I'm gonna try to finish gens asap. I may not bring a spare part or the best toolbox, but using Prove Thyself and Deja Vue, I'm going to try and finish to escape. That is the main goal of the game. Now to agree with this point, if its a killer who is obviously having a bad time, IE 3 gens done and no one has been downed at all, I will go do what you say. But if its been hook after hook, I'm rushing gens.

Chill out with SWF: I don't use SWF, DBD is more authentic without comms.

Don't Tunnel Gens: I disagree, see point one.

Don't hold W: Bro, I need every help I can get when getting away. I can't loop for beans so I'm going to run the best I can.

Try to avoid God Pallets: I don't even know what a God pallet is so see point four.

Again, I mean these as respectful as possible from the viewpoint of a casual gamer with over 100 hours. Otherwise, you have good intentions and I can respect that. :)

  • Potato teammates? Hmmm, idk if this counts but if I see a Mikaela, they're going to go bless a totem and then disappear for the hatch at the end game. Useful for a healing spot but then just become a useless ninja. No offense to mains out there.

  • I'll be completely honest, it depends on my mood. If I'm in a foul mood, I maybe sorta kinda go out on the first hook. Sorry to my teammates but I don't want to be in a match that instead of taking 5 mins to now go to 10, 15, or even 30 due to being the only survivor on gens while the other two just hide for hatch. I'd rather take 1k BP and go to the next match where I could have more fun with a hopefully less intense killer.

If I'm in a decent whatever mood, I might touch a gen here and there, but mostly I'll hit totems, chests, heals, etc. I know these aren't popular decisions, but if I see someone dead in the first 2 minutes and no gens done, it's hard to keep motivation.

To save face, I don't quit all the time. If I'm in a lobby with a guy that is keeping the killer busy for a long time, I will rush to do gens to give us a fighting chance. Usually you can tell how a match is going to go after that first kill. I know its hypocritical, but just do your best and get as many BP as possible. I'm gonna try to get a better attitude about it. :)

  • These are always fun. I'll pull from personal experience.

    1. If a survivor drops an item in front of you and nods, you must let them live. No hooks or injuries.

    2. If the survivor is going after a chest, you must stop and let them grab the item. Then give them a headstart before you chase them.

    3. You shall not equip light born. Survivors have a right to blind you and you shall endure it.

    4. If a survivor waves at you, you must chase them and ONLY them. You must ignore everyone else on gens and proceed to chase or be looped the entire match.

    5. Survivors are not teabagging you to be rude. They are saying thank you at all times. You are the one being toxic at all times.

    :D GLHF

  • I was sent there twice last night. It was a sweet and sour blessing due to the "Break 15 pallets" archive, but I only was able to hook everyone once as Wraith. It just go to a point where chasing had gotten dull because we'd both stop at a pallet and I'd nod to just drop it because the pacing is already dead to me.

If they could at least get rid of 30 pallets (lol), that map would be tolerable for killer AND chases.

  • So there was one match where I was the last survivor versus a Ghostface. Dude slaughtered us all at 5 gens (on Solo Q) and managed to find me. He downed me to dying and spent time tea bagging me and nodding, I just started playing on my phone until the crows came for AFK. He finally took the hint and hooked me, but after the match, had to gall to say, "I'm gonna report you for AFKing." Nothing came of it so far but the fact that that's a possibility doesn't make me seethe, mald, cope, etc, but just disappointed.

Old man story time over, but TLDR: No matter what, people are still gonna rile you up no matter what, just do your best, don't match their energy, report the cheaters (Not the sluggers) and as always, GLHF :)

  • I like the bots to figure out how killers work and with what perks, but holy smokes, they are skittish. I was playing Ghostface and if I saw so much as a leg, they book it, so Stalk didn't work for me as well. Another thing is they jump on generators fast. 5 was slow and then pow, next thing I know, they were on 2. Other things I noticed is during a two person chase, David just ran to a locker and hid right in front of me.

Otherwise, bots are good for trying kickers and not getting dumped in a sweat match from ground zero

What legitimate reason would a person have to leave a game? “Oh man, my house is on fire, better leave my game first”, “oh no, my pizza is burning up in the oven, better leave my game first” The game will just finish naturally wether you’re afk or not. There isn’t a reason to ever leave on purpose, and if an emergency situation arises and a persons first priority is to leave a match, was it really an emergency after all?

My argument is to simply remove the easy access DC.

I had to quit one time because my daughter was playing and tripped and fell and needed me because my wife was outside.

It's hard enough that I'm crying from being bullied as killer, now try dealing with a crying two year old. lol

  • The only reason I'm tempted to even play as Jeff is the fact that the rat on the back of his jacket looks like Godzilla and I just think that's the neatest look in the game.

I want more Kaiju themed clothes...

  • Like what everyone said, Remove survivors from seeing his orb, Guard radius, What guard he can summon next, and remove the buff from the flag (Keep it to where if you remove the flag it de-summons the guard), fix some numbers (Make Assassin a bit faster, etc.). Knight could easily be a terrifying killer to go against. Right now, he's a joke, a raw dough pie that needs more time.

  • Shirtless, Naked, Bikini, I don't really care to be honest. But I'd like to see more tactical outfits on survivors. Like a "Solid Snake" Jeff skin or a "Sam Fisher" Nea. Please give tacticool skins, Bill's cammies are my current favorite, I'd like more like that on underused survivors!

This is absolutely correct, however the problem with the application of "you get what you give" in this game, is that the favour often isn't returned in the same game, and can't be. Instead, players carry over this mentality between games, afflicting opponent B with the consequences wrought by opponent A.

I had this happened last night. Got a Meg on death hook and smacked the Zarina to dying state. So I picked up Zarina, and just stood in place so she could wiggle off and get the save. I then decided to go after Mikeala for her two hooks and this Meg and Zarina did nothing but flashlight clicky and teabag. Heck, I even finally hooked Mikeala two times and on the second time, I literally stood there trying to pantomime, "Hey, come unhook her, it's okay." and they still proceeded to be jerks. Like, I'm obviously giving you guys chances to make saves.

But I understand too that people will pretend to be nice just to be jerks at the end. Thankfully one of their teammates was decent and gave a gg. I don't wanna kill, I just my two hooks and slaps.

  • On my switch, I play between Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher or Splatoon 3. On PC, Library of Ruina and City of Heroes Homecoming

  • I just hate all the killers. I should be able to do m1 gens in peace without being hit or chased. If I even see your little killer toe peeking out of the corner of my eye, I'm gonna DC.

In all seriousness, Doctors are annoying and Wraiths are a heckuva gamble whether you get a decent killer or MR. BING BONG IN YOUR FACE ON HOOK.

  • Bought the game when Stranger Things was about to leave, (Never watched the show, but Demo looked cool). Played the tutorial and thought that this seemed like a simple concept, hide from killer, do the gens, get out. Started the game as Nancy, got left to die on first hook. Next game, slugged by a Ghostface and left to bled out. Next game, almost about to escape, on 2 hook already, a Feng body blocks me from a window as a Legion mori's me and the other three escape. I thought okay, survivor kinda sucks let's try Killer!

Baby trapper against 4-man bully squad with flashlights.

I uninstalled the next day, but lo and behold, I came back, watched some tips, and just kept grinding. Hang in there dudes, it takes time. :)

  • I honestly thought this was gonna gonna be a joke thread where for "7 minutes" he gets a speed boost and is able to flip over pallets.

    I'm glad I was wrong.

  • I've noticed more hook suicides than anything sadly. 4 gens done, Meg gets first hook, dies. Next game, playing against Myers, wasn't even 10 seconds into the match, Hook Suicide. Couple matches later, I get hooked, Dwight comes to save me, gets downed and first hook, suicides. Like I get it, sometimes a match is unwinnable or we're against someone super sweaty, but bro, it's a game. Just chill.

  • Depends on where the incentive is and what dailies I have. Now with that being said, I'll go more survivor to do archives than killer. Survivor is more fun and not as stressful I suppose.

  • I chase them out, whether it's from a hit or just me strutting up. But having NOED and they wanna teabag without cleansing any totems? You're getting hooked.

Internet tough guy persona aside, if they managed to do all the gens and just hang out at the gate, I'll wack em so they get extra points and so do I. So while teabagging is dumb, use 'em for a little extra points. Just blow it off and play the game. It'll be okay. :)

  • I did something like that last night. Chased an Ash, hooked him and left. Heard the boom, while not in a chase, and went back. Found him bleeding in a locker, so hook again. Went back to patrolling gens, boom again. The poor guy hid in the same locker and I had to hook him again. Not to excuse tunneling, but I'm a simple player, I go where the sound is and if its the same person, I'm sorry but I got to play the game.

I have done something where I had a survivor unhook and escaped. I swear I kept running into them, even on the opposite end of the map and no one else, so for that moment I had sympathy, I picked them up and let them wiggle free for extra points and let them leave. I know how it feels to keep running into the killer and being the only one hurt or downed and everyone else just "gets by".

It goes both ways, honestly. I mostly play survivor now, less stress, but I used to main killer. The salt is real on both sides, but you have 4 survivors for every killer. Statistically, you're more likely to encounter survivors being rude based on numbers, but my guess is that the ratio of friendly to salty players is the same in both sides.

I get a lot of killers that are sore winners as well. Despite doing well, they have to try and throw snark around.

It's such a small thing but I hate being hooked and just hit over and over again. I have to have my wife hand cuff me to stop me from being radioactive, a joke, but seriously, stop it.

  • Like the poster above me, I only act goofy killer if I'm doing archives or dailies. Don't hate me for this, BHVR, but last night I had to expose 4 people as Ghostface AND catch 3 survivors in traps as Trapper. I spent the whole GF match trying to stalk and not kill and the Trapper match just going around opening traps and trying to pantomime survivors to "get in". But otherwise, I'm going to play Spirit as the game intended, try to hook, sacrifice, and prevent escape, and that brings me to my point. You don't have to play nice, as much as I hate it, slugging, camping, and tunneling are strategies that the game can encourage. Make your own fun and take care, you paid for the game afterall. Just don't be a dick. If you slug all four, seriously go back and hook them. Don't waste the players time though.

  • I'll admit, I've been hella salty at times. There was a match I literally did 4 gens alone while my team did screw all. Killer finds me, (I'll be honest, I SUCK at looping.) and hooks me. Okay, I say to myself, maybe they'll come save me and I can do the last generator and escape. NOPE, I get camped by killer, the final gen pops, and they escape. That really got my teeth grinding on solo, so I can see lashing out on the post-game chat, but it doesn't do anything. People just skip and go.

With that rant over, I've seen killers and survivors salty because people, like myself, get frustrated when things don't go our way. I can't justify being radioactive, but at the end of the day, shrug it off and go to the next match. Take care and have fun.

  • Nothing too crazy, but I was being chased by trapper in Haddonfield. We got to a house and the chase music suddenly stopped. I stood there spinning the camera looking around for maybe 3 minutes at most. Suddenly he runs up the stairs and turns and looks at me. Without thinking, I jumped through the window onto a bear trap. I couldn't be mad, I got outplayed big time. Made me chuckle.

Another instance was a Hag putting runes everywhere. I accidently triggered one, in Gideon and panicked, I pallet slid away from it only to trigger another rune. So before I could pallet slide again,, they floored me. Played me like a fiddle. Good times.
