It's entirely his decision, who are you to dictate how he wants to play or not? And if we want to get into what's fair, how is it fair that somebody doing nothing gets to escape and get a fat stack of BP for the trouble? Hardly fair.
So you rather waste all of time where's one is slugged on the ground while the killer is finding the last guy? gotcha i'm almost done quitting the game because of this. so you wont have to worry about me dictating you guys for playing the game properly

The hatch prevents a 4k. That 4k gives a lot more BP than 3k and possibly needed for adept achievements. Hatch results in neutral MMR for the survivor, maybe that's the issue. They are staying neutral in a MMR bracket they don't belong, if they went down then maybe they wouldn't go against brutal killers and they can get gens done so hatch wouldn't matter? Just a theory. But regardless, hiding for the hatch depriving killer of a 4k for the sake of maintaining MMR isn't fair.
Might as well move hatch then sense all you killers will be doing that either way make us run around with our heads chopped off around the map till you finally catch us.

I often do that. I had a match where there I pretty much took out 2 survivors by the time 1 gen was done (they were both trying to go for saves near eachother). I ended up carrying the 3rd survivor around the map to find the 4th. In that situation I won the match hands down so like hell I'm going to allow someone doing nothing to get the hatch.
The hatch does not result in lost mrr and does not result in a loss, its not fair that you do that.
-
hatch might as well not exist anymore
-
Just had a game where some wraith went looking for a dwight on the other side of the map for a mori 4k

Due to the Killer not bothering to put the third Victim on the hook
The term 'slugging' is common nomenclature for putting a Victim in the "dying state" for an extended amount of time.
Slugging for 4K refers to your described scenario, with the Killer looking for the 4th Victim without hooking 3rd, slugged Victim.
It can occur, but isn't as common as many on this forum makes it sound like. It happened before 4K free mori, and it will happen again even if free mori is removed.
If you do not wish to be slugged, bring the Victim perk "Unbreakable", but don't get yourself up unless it's very end game or the Killer is actually trying to slug for 4K. 😀
Unbreakable only works once

@drsoontm said:
The mori hasn't changed anything significant in the way killers are playing.
Tunneling, slugging, camping, slugging for the 4k: none of this is new. And if you hear the usual gas-lighters, it has always happened on almost every matches.
The mori is ofter faster than grabbing, hooking and waiting for a sacrifice.
The mori cannot happen if there is another survivor in the match. So the killer has a vested interest to hook, or wait for a minute or so that the last one dies bleeding: not something the vast majority will want to do.
Not all for me every game sense the mori update the killer dont bother hooking the third person and waste our time so they get their mori kill

Who was the killer, OP? Im curious
it was a huntress

This is kind of correct.
In the sense that OP is saying, where they bleed out in 4 minutes, you're correct. The devs have said directly that slugging until bleedout isn't holding the game hostage.
However, the game automatically ends after 60 minutes. And things like the killer body blocking one survivor in a corner to force them to die after the other survivors finish gens, or two survivors hiding for extreme amounts of the without trying to progress the game, are both examples of hostage taking, even though the game technically still ends.
The killer was not slugging us more like just trying to drag the game out it like a simi slug i would call it

They must be bored. Imagine actually wanting a game to last that long. I just can't imagine.
Idk what that killer was thinking they must of been i done playing for the game tonight thats for sure.

Yeah sorry… you guys had 4 members alive as you said. You can crawl into a corner away from the gens and from the killer if you are downed so the killer can't camp the gens and you on the ground. People can separate themselfs and go for different gens while the killer is being campy boi or girl.
Sorry.. this is on you guys. I'm not saying what the killer was doing is nice but theres NO WAY killer can hold 4 different people hostage for 40 minutes without you guys bleeding out first if he slugs you and you guys getting 0 gens done.
She saw us and refuses to hook us she liked wasting our time bro, but yeah it all our dumb dumb survivors fault
-
@Hannacia said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3791966#Comment_3791966
Then you do gens :D. I feel like you guys screwed yourselfs over in this match. If 5 people are alive why …oh why didnt you guys do gens. Sorry… im gonna say it again…somethings quite not right here.
Whats not to get we kept healing from the ground trying to do gens, get pushed away from gens killer refuses to hook us repeat my hole team was trying to do the gens
-
And we tried doing gens we kept getting pushed away
-
@Hannacia said:
Wait….how? You die on the ground in 4 minutes… it doesn't take 40 minutes to die. If killer is refusing to eather bleed you out or hook you just do gens?
Somethings quite not right here…
Because we kept getting up from being healed ect
-
Honestly i hate these killers more then tunnelers and campers even i don't hate them.
-
@SpitefulHateful said:
No, you're not the bad guy here. They entered the game with an intention to mess with you, they were salty you didn't play along and allow them to harass you. They got what they deserved.
They had plenty of time to get at least 3 people out too they were not planning on winning forgot to mention that, they were salty in the post game chat haha

No, I'm not playing swf, I was just genuinely curious.
It will stop alot of accusation if this was a feature as well and it will help me see why i lost ect
-
@Hex_Ignored said:
What would you do with that information? What would be the purpose?
Sounds like you're a swf player that don't want to be known ,but if you are serious it will help me analyse the game after the game has end on why i lose so badly
-
Just had a last game where this cage lead the killer to me and sandbag me soloq players have been hella toxic lately
-
@dwight444 said:
I legit just finished a match where teammate died on first hook because the only teammate with 0 hooks is on a gen with little progress (stuck gen all the way), I was about to pop one and our 3rd was doing nothing. After I popped I went to hook hoping to see 3rd teammate but nope, 0 hud activity til right before the last gen popped as she got on it. Guess what, this same guy opened gate immediately and left. The guy with no hooks? Saw him running to gate as the killer carried me to hook despite me not being dead yet.
Unfortunately, by the time I realized the other 2 weren't gonna do anything I realized if I traded then I would just die for sure because they'd just not save me either so I really did not want to trade; I felt like I earned a shot at escaping after playing so well for the team.
Solo q is just a joke. Complete waste of time. I'm currently tracking my games and since it's sort of on topic: played 11 games this morning, escaped 0 times. Surprisingly little tunneling and more so due to inept teammates.
Yeah same little tunnelling the teammates are selfish, the killers are actually chill.
-
You right the game is not the problem its the selfish players. the killer was not even camping me or near me
-
@radiantHero23 said:
Thats why I play the game less and less…
Its not even the game that is my problem. It is it´s playerbase.
Im sorry that you had this experience. Hope that you run into better people.
Yeah its like 4 out of 10 games now

@Halloulle said:
You do realise that 99ing gates is the counter survivors have and if you want to counter that counter you open the gate yourself.
Yes every time i done that they leave i get the chance maybe i make it too obvious idk

No. That you throw Buzzwords like "SWF" into it does not change anything.
ok
-
bloodwarden works fine with soloq sense no ones communicating oh what if he has bloodwarden there not a hivemind of soloqs players thinking that.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
No, Bloodwarden does not need a Buff. If you want to benefit from it, you can open the Exit Gate yourself. 99ing Exit Gates is absolutely fine and also intended. The EGC is just a measurement to end the game and not a tool to help the Killer (even if EGC is ultimately killersided).
If anything would be done to 99ing Exit Gates you can expect to Survivors just opening the Gates and leaving, which would most likely lead to less Kills by the Killer, since nobody would try to save in Endgame anymore.
It needs a counter to swfs at least imo
-
Yes, call of duty does that all the time release a op paid to win gun then nerf.
-
@Farenzyhawk said:
I don’t think op is asking if his map offerings should be returned if not used, he’s wanting to know if when a map offering is used against him if it shouldn’t be considered a loss. And of course it should, but reality says it doesn’t matter
Yes that is what i'm asking

I know there are toxic players on both sides but I have to agree survivors are worse imo. Deliberately holding game hostage, deliberately repeatedly trying to blind the killer (not as a tactic but to just to be a bully) post game chat is usually hilarious because after all the toxic stuff they try in game they still lose and they vent post game.
It would not be a problem if they are sore winners, when they act like sore winners it feels worst then the sore losers

Can we do something about people doing stuff like this already? It's griefing. It's literally just a form of griefing and it doesn't belong in the game.
I would not go that far sense it prevents tunnelling, but if you're going in my face to prevent a hit yeah you're getting tunnelled
-
@UndeddJester said:
Not being tunneled is a privilege, not a right.
Anyone who uses basekit endurance to punish a killer who extends that privilege by taking a hit for their teammate, revokes their anti-tunnel privileges.
So no guilt. They were just salty their buddy died.
I just ignore teabags, treat it as free hits and chases for bloodpoints and swing to force them to leave. If you really wanna piss them off in end game chat, respond to everything they say with "lol" 😏
I've just had another game where i got harassed by another swf such sore winners

My guy you are literally on the same team what is this petty nonsense you're spouting?
the other killer goes out of his way to take my down so i get less blood points and he even tho i let him take his down i want blood points too instead of 18k per game cause going around stealing cages

Without video, it's impossible to say. There are so many perks an situations that you'd need a video for anyone here to really confirm your suspicions. Not being able to catch someone doesn't always mean their cheating.
It's always best to rewatch if possible before making a call since in the moment, things tend to look worse then they are.
the only reason why i think she was hacking i could not get into m1 range of her one bit the hole game even tho she had all those perks that help her to get away from me, but they should not be that op i never get into m1 range
-
@Lost_Boy said:
After playing this game for a few years you start to get a feel for when things are off. I think more people use subtle hacks than we think, especially when you have base game sales happening all the time on different platforms. I still don't see it as a massive issue, but I've certainly noticed some questionable behaviour with speed and wall hacks from time to time.
she had hope and balance landing to gaslight you to think you're playing trash and sprint burst, but i know she was hacking cause when she was not using those perks i could not even get into m1 range that is not possible
-
@tippy2k2 said:
Without video we can't say 100% for sure cause there are a few odd combos and situations of perks that can get a survivor that fast but that wouldn't last for very long. If you're not catching them over an extended period of time running in a straight line, they're almost certainly cheating.
she had the typical hacking perks to make you think you're crazy, i know she had balance landing and hope perks to gashlight you thinking you're are just trash to hide the hacks even more.
-
I feel like dbd is not worth playing due to the hackers
-
Honestly i might just give up playing after this event, i am thinking about it

@UndeddJester said:
I used to do this just to be nice, now I only do it when someone DCs or I have a SoH, but to offer some perspective on it:
There are killers that are more in it for the fun of the chase, where the actual results of the match don't really matter. Curve Billy's for example were very much like this. Climbing the invisible MMR ladder is not something I care about at all (it literally means nothing to climb it), instead I want to have fun, and would prefer that everyone is mostly having fun... cause for players like myself, absolutely dunking on someone isn't really a thing I enjoy. It's amazing how ignoring the result of the match frees you up to actually have fun in this game, and I'm convinced that a lot of people's burn out with it is simply trying so hard to win, they've lost sight of what they enjoy doing.
Think of it like a game of chess. If you play against a much weaker opponent (say your 10 year old nephew or something), do you go uber hard in the paint and wipe the floor with them? No... cause that demoralises them and stops them playing the game. You already know you're gonna win, so what does it prove continuing to crush them? You ease up, you give them chances to come back, or may even use the opportunity to teach, limit yourself to make a game of it, or let them have the win.... whatever it is you do, the point is that both parties are having fun, cause if people aren't having fun, then what's the point of playing the game?
When I absolutely dominate a team and all chases end really quickly, there isn't much fun to be had, and no one obviously wants to go up against super sweat lords pushing every mechanic they possibly can to annihilate their opposition... so it only serves logically to not be one yourself.
Nowadays the quality of survivors I face is generally pretty good, so I don't give away wins anymore out of respect for them and the spirit of the game, however... I still take a stance I will always play for 10 hooks if possible, I don't camp and tunnel, and will consider 5 hooks the sacrifice point, where if I find the Dead On Hook player, that was was their mistake. I will also always play the hatch gamble, slugging for the 4k is boring.
I will still however let survivors repair gens in the event of a DC or SoH, I play out to max hooks nornally, and anyone who doesn't also quit gets to leave. I will also sometimes do it when a player asks to be let go... (though anyone using Boil Over is being sent to the Entity with a request for special treatment stapled to their forehead).
Always remember, Boops Save Lives. 🐽
Basically letting survivors go is a way for killers to not take this game too seriously, cause being a try hard quickly makes it a very unfun experience, even when you're winning.
i do early game if someone dcs i just practice my hatches
-
Its what ever now i play killer because of this i am playing huntress, if someone dcs i become friendly and let everyone else live. thats the only time where i do it or they kill themselfs on hooks
-
I dont want to have a skin just to please a killer i just want to play a game as a dwight
