  • It is super buggy and inconsistent. I sat with a 7m queue time for over 25 minutes and never got the option to play survivor while waiting.

Just another thing BHVR didn't get right.

Aw, but you're about to miss the best chapter of all time (for survivors)!

It does seem like it's going to be good. I'm just tired of playing for almost 2 hours and only playing like 4 short matches because I'm sitting in a lobby for 20 minutes at a time. I want to run from Killers, not sit on the menu.

Have you considered playing killer instead?

Yeah, I hate playing Killer haha. I don't even like doing it for the amount of time it takes me to complete a Daily Ritual. Eventually I do want to try the Trickster, but I doubt he'll be able to convert me.

  • @FreddysMain said:

for me on console i tend to get into games with a killer quicker than being a survivor unless i have a full team with me or play with my two friends.

Oh not me. Wait times are half of the reason I don't play Killer.

Tbh, matchmaking times are not based on how many survivors or killers there are.

I just think it's weird how long I'm waiting all of a sudden.

  • This is kind of difficult, because I started playing back when windows didn't get blocked by the Entity, so things are a lot different now.

I'd have to say that I wish I knew that you could crouch to stop the Hag's traps from popping. I figured it out pretty quickly, but it was annoying at first.

I’ve found that it helps to choose either survivor/killer, log in to the character selection screen, & then trash the daily for a new one while in the survivor/kill select screen. It “usually” scraps the daily objective I’ve been given for one on the current character select I’m in. Hopefully that makes sense. Example: Say I get a survivor daily quest, before a trash can it for a new one, I’ll choose to play a killer, once I’ve chosen, I’ll login to the killer character select, then trash the daily. Like I said, that “usually” works for me.

It's only worked once for me. Last 6 days, only gotten one Survivor ritual. I even played a Killer match (Twins suck) and it still gave me the Legion one.

Reworking the rituals all together to 'disable' killer/survivor from appearing again on the ritual for 1 day, so if you trash a daily for getting bear trap snags as Trapper you won't immediately get another challenge for Trapper

Also having 3 rituals for survivor and 3 rituals for killer

I'd like it if, when we deleted a ritual, it let us select either Survivor or Killer and gave us a ritual based on that choice.

This whole thread gave me an idea after reading one comment lmao

    What idea?

So just swipe every killer ritual. You only lose out on bloodpoints if you somehow get four in a row, and these forums are constantly boasting about how they get 30K blood per Survivor match, effectively making a single ritual barely one match's worth of bloodpoints.

Did you read my original post? I went 5 days without a single Survivor ritual. That's 5 in a row. Here we are, one week from when I started my quarantine, and I've only gotten 1 Survivor ritual. 1 Survivor, 7 Killer.

Then don't. It's as simple as that. The daily is optional.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1965793#Comment_1965793

I don't understand why people balk at "Hit 3 intoxicated Survivors", a daily I can do in literally 5 minutes or less and get it even if every single Survivor escapes, but clap their hands like a seal over a daily like "Escape with Bill" when it might take you four matches to get a single escape out of him.

It's not that specific ritual. It's just one that I mentioned. It's that it's a Killer one. I just think it's stupid that it tries to convince me to play the Killer side. Killer is so boring in my opinion.

I've only had 2 survivor tasks in the past 2 weeks & I play every day.

I do play both sides most days so it's not the biggest issue for me but it does always tend to be killers I virtually only use for these tasks & / or tomes.

Can't remember the last time I got a killer task for any of my core 5 killers not sure if that's all luck or by design.

Based on what other people have said, I think it's intentional to try and get you to play Killers, Survivors, or the side that you play the least. I guess I'm just going to ignore daily rituals from now on.

It's not blind, undying support when I literally just criticized the grind costs.

You don't have to do the rituals. And you can store up to three, cycling every day. Whether or not you do them is entirely up to how picky you are. There are archive challenges that mandate specific characters as well. Yet no one ever seems to complain about those.

I have never, EVER managed to get my daily rituals all the way to three and not had ANY that I felt like I could knock out in a single match.

It's not about being able to complete them, except for the Nurse one because I just suck with her. It's the fact that I have literally not gotten a Survivor daily ritual in almost a week. I know you don't have to do them, but I like being able to get the few thousand points for doing something like unhooking three people. I don't want to go in and play the Clown and try to hit 3 intoxicated Survivors.

I'm going to try this next time, thanks! I just deleted a Killer daily ritual and I got replaced with another Killer ritual. It's obnoxious!

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

Play both sides and you won't have an issue with daily rituals sitting there and rotting.

I just really hate playing Killer. I don't find it to be anywhere near as fun as Survivor. I shouldn't be coersed into playing what I consider a lesser side.

Double pipped as blight and didn’t get mine either (also Xbox.) The new achievements are not listed on Xbox yet. Do they usually unlock retroactively once they pop into the list? Or did we waste our time?

We wasted our time. We'll have to do it again when they finally load them in.

  • While I understand your sentiment, I do disagree with the point you're trying to make.

Firstly, I do think that those who play Killer regularly have a greater understanding of the drawbacks of playing Killer. Naturally, you will most likely have a predisposition to request that Killers be stronger, and potentially, Survivors weaker.

Secondly, this is a game with two sides. Survivor & Killer. Both should have say on what is fair, underpowered or OP for both sides.

  • I personally love Survivor, and I usually play solo. Immersing myself in the game and outrunning the Killers is much more fun to me than trying to hunt Survivors down. Plus, I'm naturally good at filling whatever roll I need to.

Need someone to run the Killer around for a few minutes?

    Done.

    Need a gen jockey?

    You got it.

Need someone to pull everyone off the hook and heal you up?

    I got my medkit handy.

When I play Killer, I feel like it's too focused and you gave to narrow in on only killing the Survivors. Sure, you have to strategize around their skill and your Killer's power, but there are so many subroles to playing Survivor that I'm never really bored. .

Starting to get a bit tired of the console framerate tanking and make me miss several hits when:

-several survivors run frantically around on screen
    -fog offerings used
    -bloodlust triggering
    -too many traps set off

I know when I miss a hit and mess up, I'll own that I make plenty of mistakes....but when I have 2 Claudettes hugging walls and my trigger activated and I zoom forward from the speed boost and the framerate just dies and "whoops" I missed. Gets a little old :/.

Has there been concrete word that the developers will actually fix this?
What platform do you play on? I'm on Xbox One X and the game is so amazingly smooth now. I actually had to go back to the store because I thought the game was Xbox One X enhanced. It used to lag on menus when I'd select other characters or switch between Killer and Survivor. No more! It's never been smoother.
  • I play on Xbox. Seeing the Steam count does nothing for me. Thanks for the reply though!
