OoO only activates when outside of the killer's terror radius and looking in the killer's direction. Things like Spine Chill only have the action speed increase and the skill check modifiers when active, so I'm not sure why you would assume OoO would work differently...
That specific change was for preventing any excessive abuse of OoO on Midwich (because survivors can just run in circles without using OoO). Edit: It just generally reduces the distance gain from users of OoO immediately running in the right direction when they see the killer approaching.
Hmmmm. I didn't know about the TR aspect. I have definately seen it proc when close, but maybe I had tinkerer go off at that time or something

I'm much more in favor of having it apply an action speed penalty of 15% and a movement speed penalty of 6% whenever OoO is active than any Blindness effect.
I think the goal should be to discourage obsessive OoO use rather than prevent it, like how the Billy changes should have been done (i.e. not at all because that dynamic already existed).
Well the movement speed penalty would just straight up prevent them from being able to look play the killer during chase, which is key to looping. So that would make it completely useless. The repair speed debuff isnt a terrible idea, but 15% is just like an extra 20 seconds per gen, they don't have any real danger or urgency because they can see the killer approach, and it doesn't address the issue of them hiding their own aura behind the gen aura.
Basically, that idea neuters them in a chase too much, and doesn't deter them feeding info to teammates, which is the whole point of it needing a change. I still think having OoO only in effect when they're not performing an interaction is a more fair balance.
-
@Gay Myers (Luzi) how did you edit my post?
-
And maybe getting blindness may be too much of a nerf, because it also would affect them seeing team mates and nerf other aura reading skills. It may be better if OoO simply turns off while interacting with anything and doesn't turn on for 5 seconds afterwards.
-
More blinding options for killer is not a terrible idea, but as people say, its not fun to run around with a counter perk just because OoO is op.
I think what should happen is when a surv has OoO equipped, they get blindness while performing any action and for 5 seconds after. That way, if SWF really want to have someone always calling out the killer, they can't multitask. That slows down their ability to do gens, bones and heal. Plus it makes it where its not so OP during a chase because you lose it for 5 seconds after vaulting or palleting and exiting lockers.

Whenever I get this daily -> reroll. Sorry. But she's terribly annoying.
Understandable, exactly why they need to change it. All the other killer rites are pretty easy to achieve in a single match. This one stands above the rest in difficulty

I mean if you hate it so much skip it for a new one
Because I'm one of those people who doesn't get to play often, and I only play killer, so usually I use my skips on survivor challenges. Besides, does my ability to skip mean that they shouldn't make a change to a challenge that is frustrating?
-
What an entitled post. Sick of seeing these. The devs don't owe you anything, but they ARE constantly trying to change and update the game to keep it fun and fair. You don't like it? Feel free to complain, but there are vastly different mindsets across the whole community that contradict each other, so keep that in mind.
-
The event is pathetic, they nerfed discordance and pop goes the weasel, the pyramid head got a nerf but its bugged in such a way that its actually a buff if you use the bug, frame rate on console is dismal, and when characters are loading in (ya know, while the camera is spinning in the beginning) the character models are frozen, making most killers look stupid and silly at the start of the match, and hex:undying paired with ruin is the new meta for killers, making the game stale.
On the upside, trail of torment got a massive buff making it much more viable, and the blight is much more powerful than people gave him credit for.
-
This change is absolute bull. So pissed, discordance was one of the best anti-gen rush perks in the game. The devs are total jerks for this one
-
Delete the clown and make his perks teachable to all killers
-
...Instead of *nerfing* every good perk...

I'm not sure what this means. What's safety? I really thought it was three- a couple of times in fact. I might be misremembering though.
The first hollow pip is the "no loss of pip, no gain of pip" you lose a pip if the bar doesn't reach this point. The 2 pips after that are the ones that increase rank
-
So the only thing that's a bit bad is "face camping" which is where you stand right in front of the hooked survivor. If you're walking away, patrolling generators, breaking pallets, that's totally fine. Generally, as long as you're 24 meters away (that way their outside of your terror radius) they shouldn't complain. There are a lot of toxic survivors out there that will complain about anything. Just come up with your own honor code and ignore the salty comments.

Actual original idea credit should go to @ringwinning

I guess you addressed the wrong person ^^. Although I read the post about Voldemort as a killer, as far as I know I didn't write anything into the thread. So it's certainly not my idea ;).
Whoops!

I won because I'm more experienced than most killer players. If others killers get the situation, 4 kills maybe turn to 4 escape. After all, my full advantage turn to nothing, I have to win everything back from the beginning. This is how streamer teams escape easliy everyday.
I mean, there were counters to what they did. Sounds like you were playing as though you didn't expect them all to have the smol pp build. Always expect the smol pp.
-
I mean, im a rank 8-10 killer usually but only because I don't have time to play often. if I got that situation is be so proud of the survivors for getting so close to making a comeback, they had the perks, they had the guts, and they almost got away with it.
Your being a bit cringe man, how can BT and DS be so OP if you still killed them all with 2 gens left?

There are a couple of neat options that were mentioned here. Personally, the only Killer I truly WANT for DBD is Jason Vorhees, anything else is pretty secondary. Hope the DEVs don´t forget about him once he´s free to join our ensemble.

Warrior form Xenomorph, maybe even a Praetorian skin for it. Definitely not a Queen form.
Dunno about power, but probably a movement/stealth option.
Mori would use the toothed "tongue" to burst open Survivor's heads, just like in the movies.
You could even get Amanda Ripley as the Survivor, have it be the Alien: Isolation chapter, on board the space ship.
One of its abilities or perks would have to be acid blood, which would give the survivor a delayed injury every 3-5 pallet stuns or after a DS. Maybe the injury occures 20-45 sec after it triggers? Maybe they have an opportunity to do something to "cleanse" it before it triggers, like infection?
-
Survivors: premonition cause i suck at looping
Killers: discordance. Absolutely necessary counter for gen rushing. I also usually run tinkerer unless its a noisy killer like nurse, bubba, billy, or huntress
-
Its a really strong perk that I think is MOSTLY fair, but there's one thing I'd change about it. If you become fully healed before the 60 seconds is up, it ends your DS. That way you can't heal and then just eat a grab on purpose.
-
I think all it needs is more range. 24-meters would make it viable. Also, it would be cool if it got one last proc based on totem location when the totem got cleansed
-
As everyone has said, sluc has no idea what he's talking about. Just lost to a couple doctors and wanted to shed some salt. Pretty evident since he has no responses to everyone's valid statements.

I hate to be devil's advocate but I expect you will be disappointed. Just from the fact this was a PC game and the console port was an after thought for more money. I don't think a next gen console will make that much of a difference with the spaghetti code. I know games on steam that are 10 years old and they still run like crap because the frame rate is capped.
But they will probably increase the FR cap if all participants are on PC or 5th gen consoles, no?

The only time I think a survivor should automatically go from Dying to Dead is if they are the last one in the trial and the hatch is closed. Even then, I'd prefer just speeding up the bleedout timer. If the issue is with gens going too quickly, I don't think OP's idea is a good solution.
I disagree with speeding up the bleed out timer even when there's only one dying survivor with hatch closed. You get less points for a bleed out, and sometimes hunting for that final survivor during EGC is crucial for your pip. If we want to speed up that ending, make it where crows circle the final survivor in that scenario, that way you don't waste up to 4 min hunting that pesky surv with iron will

I think its a pretty cool anime. You would wanna start with fate/zero, then fate/stay-night, then fate/SN:unlimited bladeworks, then fate/extra. fate/apocrypha is good, but its not sequitur to the others.
Sorry, replace fate/extra with fate/SN:heavens-feel. Fate extra... Kinda sucks if I remember correctly cause it was a spin off that was all in a VR world and I didn't like it. I haven't seen heavens feel yet

I love this idea. It could be an alien one (although I doubt they'd give the rights since there's already alien horror games)

Perhaps the one from the Francis Coppola film from the 90's? Though I prefer Lucy. They could also use Dracula from Castlevania.
I was thinking Dracula from either castlevania, or fate/apocrypha. In fate, he isn't intended to be a vampire and instead can create spikes as "the impailer"

I was thinking "ring wraiths" would be a good one. Can summon their steed for movement and has an infection type thing applied to survivors they hit.

I know he's not the traditional horror villain but he:
--murdered hundreds if not thousands of people
--was intent on murdering a child
--genuinely looks terrifying to some people (Ralph Fiennes did him justice imo)
--led a group of very twisted people which some may consider psychologically horrifying
--tortured potential survivor characters
--was literally so dark and twisted that people didn't even want to say his name
I don't know I just think it would be cool and tbh JK Rowling seems like she'd do anything for a cash grab at this point (if some people have read her twitter they would see that) so maybe it's not viable but it would be fun.
EDIT: More things
--Literally split his soul into seven pieces so he wouldn't die (which, by the way, you need to murder to do)
--They could call him something quirky like "The Nameless" or whatever
--The generation that grew up with Harry Potter (my generation) is old enough to consider this series nostalgic and may actually smile when they see him listed as a killer
Mind if I steal your idea to make a new post with a fully fleshed outline of killer and survivor description with perks and all?
-
This is actually a pretty cool idea.
M1 attack is a strike from nagini on his shoulder.
Special attack could be any 2 or 3 of the following spells: hinders (arresto momentum), disarms (expelliarmus), teleports (apparate) , traps an area causing survivors to scream when entering (caterwaling charm), blinds (lumos solem), breaks gens/doors from a distance (reducto), causes grunts of pain (crucio) or increases survivors breathing, grunts of pain, and footstep noise (sonorousl. There would have to be a cool down between castings
Every time he gets an M1 hit, a horcrux totem appears in the world as a dull totem (new totem spawns so they can't pre cleanse). M1 hits that put survivors into the dying state create 2 totems instead. Once all 7 dull horcrux totems are made, they become lit, no new totems can spawn, and one or all of his spells turns into avada cadavra which instant downs survivors hit with it. If 4 of the lit totems are cleansed, his spell(s) go back to normal. If all 7 horcrux totems are cleansed, the hatch opens.
(Using totems as horcruxes might be too powerful with other totem synergy, so horcruxes could be their own thing that can't be cleansed until lit)
-
You also lose a lot of BP by letting them bleed out. DS only comes into play once you've hooked them once, so get the first hook for sure. If you down someone after unhook just wait 60 seconds (aka 1/4 of their bleed out bar) before hooking. You run the risk of unbreakable, but that's life. Don't let them all bleed out though, that's boring for them AND you're missing out on BP
-
The other day I was playing as nurse on dead dog saloon and my headset died and i already suck as nurse, so needless to say I didn't get any sacrifices. I got a good number of hooks though, but didn't tunnel which screwed me. When the exit gates opened 3 survs left immediately but one stayed and waved me over to a hook. Them letting me get a sac saved me from a de-pip which was very nice!
-
You should pretty much only reveal him if you have good distance on him, if he's stalking someone, or if he's trying to sneak up on someone doing gens/totems
-

It can probably fit it, it's just that I would rather deal with it when the time comes. But something to keep in mind is that 40gb might not seem like a big number, however for how simple the game is, it's not worth the 40
That's up for each person to decide, if its not worth it for you, that's cool. I think it is, and i play on ps4so I don't have my whole TB SSD to work with

120 gb is crazy low bud. You don't need a high end computer, just find a terabyte solid state drive that can fit. We got ours for like $140 or so. And modern games are big, if you want to play modern games you'll have to adapt with the new demands. Game sizes will only get bigger from here on.
BUT if they could do some memory optimization such as making it where you dont use storage space for DLCs until you actually buy them, that would be tight.
Never mind on that last part, it would make it where you couldn't play with people that don't have the same packs as you, so that was dumb of me

When I'm killer I spin 90-180 degrees when I attack to increase my hitbox size

The survs aren't happy they shrunk their hitboxes while healing?
