I'm not interested in your point, if you think player satisfaction only matters for survivors.
The fact that one side has to spectate, isn't relevant. You either care about both sides of the game, or you don't.
And here you are, defending only one side while stating that you either care for both or don't.
How ironic.

Does your point about player satisfaction involve both sides of the game? Or does it only care about survivor satisfaction?
The fact that one side has to SPECTATE (a kinda complicated word, I know) the game is the big difference that you would realise if you played both sides, my friend. But no, instead you only stick to one role and think you know everything.

It's still giving the expectation that killers should sabotage their kill rates out of fairness towards survivors, but survivors aren't expected to sabotage their escape rate out of fairness for killers.
It also sends a message that killer strategies are a problem that need to be nerfed, but survivor strategies are fine and shouldn't be nerfed. It's a major problem, when people honestly think the bulk of problematic behavior is only created from one side of the game.
Why are you avoiding the point I made about players' satisfaction? It's literally the most important part of why tunneling has to go.

They had a bug where Knight could summon multiple guards at once, but could only be done at specific window vaults, and it didn't help the killer in any way… and they killswitched him for two months over it. Meanwhile, Springtrap breaks survivor audio for the rest of the match if you use the doors, literally has an invisibility bug that occurs EVERY time he uses his power, and has multiple bugs around the axe that make it more oppressive than it should be.
Nothing. No killswitch. Deal with it until we try to fix it in a week or two.
Killswitch the latest released killer?! What do you want? You want them to prioritize people who already own the game instead of potential customers? How dare you!
On a more serious note, this would really hurt the company. Really bad. Especially knowing that this chapter allowed them to break their player count record. All these newly acquired players would probably just stop playing the game if the character they bought the game for was unavailable. -

If your kill rate would be higher if you tunneled, then your sabotaging your kill rate by not tunneling. And it raises the question of "if killers should sabotage their kill rate for the sake of survivor fairness, then why aren't survivors expected to sabotage their escape rate for the sake of killer fairness"?
If you are claiming your kill rate would eventually settle down to where it is now, then it's basically saying that players don't need to do strategies that are unfun for their opponents, because MMR will settle it back down to the same amount. And that raises the question of "does that mean survivors don't need to flashlight save or hook sabotage, or do anything else that might be unfun for killers, because they would have the same escape rate if they played "fair" or "unfair" for killers?
It's not sabotaging the KR. He's just proving that you do not NEED to tunnel to keep a good kill rate.
"if killers should sabotage their kill rate for the sake of survivor fairness, then why aren't survivors expected to sabotage their escape rate for the sake of killer fairness".
Because escape rates are low, whereas killrates, as intended, are high. But once again, it's not sabotaging. It's simply realizing that tunneling, which is absolutely not needed to win, is just a way to make the game easier.
And there is something EVEN MORE IMPORTANT that killer-only players do not realise: feelings. It's just not fun to sit on a hook and spectate most of the game, only to get targeted once you can finally PLAY the game you PAID for. Do you think BHVR wants people to have fun or to ditch the game? -

Wraith has speed add-ons and can only see gen auras with that addon when invisible, as well as speed add-ons only work while invisible. So what's stopping wraith from cloaking mid chase and deciding he wants to pressure a very red gen? Same with Legion. He can only see the gen aura intensity while in Frenzy. He's faster in Frenzy for like 11 seconds now, so again, what's stopping Legion from injuring everyone and then going to the most red gen? Springtrap can only see the intensity of gens while using the doors, and survivors barely use those (in my experience), so there's no point in using them unless you're close to one and planning to actually go across the map for some reason.
Nothing stops them from doing so, but it will take time. That is my WHOLE point. They have to actually traverse the map. Springtrap doesn't.
And if you do not use the doors… then that's a huge skill issue from you. This killer has doors, they're made to be used. They help you get across the map to apply pressure, which any good killer player loves to do.

I think it's a bug that's already been reported on this forum before the release but… BHVR.
-
I do not camp/tunnel/slug or whatever. And that's Legion. So, what is your point?

I don't know if he really needs infinite undetectable + haste after throwing his axe, and doors next to every single gen so you can never finish any, bhvr balancing I guess you can't sell FNAF if it's weak
Don't forget the add-on that gives generators' repair progress through aura. Legion and Wraith can do that too but… they can't tp to a door that sits DIRECTLY next to a gen. I really wonder if they even play their own game to come up with such a thing.

Can't edit, but the winrate would be closer to 55-65%. Got a bit over the top with the 75%.
-
"killrate 60% = winrate 50% (2k on average). With the current matchmaking, this basically means the game is balanced (even though with improved matchmaking killrates would surely drop by significant margin).Escape rate of 50% would mean 50% killrate, which further means killer winrate going somewhere around 40-45%.With this fact, average killer wins 50% of the time."Are people blatantly lying? We know for a fact that MOST matches either end in 0k or 4k. Having a 60% KR while knowing that CAN NOT translate to ONLY 50% Winrate.
Let's break it down.
If most games end in either 0k or 4k, it means kills are not evenly distributed across matches. The system is polarized. In such a system, even reaching an average of 2.4 kills per match (which is 60% killrate) would already require a large chunk of your matches to be 3k or 4k outcomes. It’s mathematically impossible for a killer to average 2.4 kills per game while only winning 50% of the time if most of the results are either full kills or full escapes. The only way 60% killrate equals 50% winrate would be if every match had very balanced outcomes like 2k, 1k, 3k evenly spread…
which is simply not how Dead by Daylight actually plays at any real MMR.
In a polarized environment, a 60% KR suggests something more like 55–65% winrate depending on how skewed your distribution is. Anyone claiming otherwise either doesn’t understand basic probability or is just repeating nonsense they’ve heard without thinking.

Wraith has the exact same add-on.
And there was never an issue with him.
Yes, but Wraith can't teleport to a gen either. That's my whole point. And for the doors away from the gens part, it seems to be related to chests just like Sadako's TVs.

Legion main here.
I ALWAYS bring Spirit Fury + Enduring. Feels mandatory. I'm not even sure if I could go back to playing normally, I'm addicted to it. -
Survivor: Telltale's TWD - Clementine
Killer: Bendy - Ink Demon
-
Legion main here. OP is 100% right.
When chasing an injured survivor you just wait for them to drop the pallet, then Frenzy, vault, cancel frenzy and it's a free down most of the time with iri button. Unless you have insane reflexes and manage to vault as soon as they activate Frenzy. But noone's ever managed to do that against me, so I highly doubt this is possible.
It IS frustrating to go against but it doesn't make Legion S tier either. -
Some people will always get upset no matter what you do or how nicely you play. Just don't mind them, they only play one side and have no idea how things work for the other.

I think it would be miserable for killers, but I also think survivor stuff needs to be sort of overpowered/broken, or survivors won’t care about it.
Keys can give a 32 meter on-demand killer aura reading for 22.5 seconds, or a 60 meter on-demand survivor aura reading for 30 seconds, and survivors just don’t care about them enough to use them. I see a lot of BNPs, syringes, and gel dressings, so I know survivors are using iri stuff… but they just don’t care about keys to use them, because keys “don’t do enough”.
The alternative is something like the smoke bombs survivors had during the void event, that were so miserable for killer that I stopped playing killer for the entire event.
The thing is that bad loopers will still be bad loopers even with aura reading… Which seems absurd, but I see it with my friends that I introduced to the game, aura reading doesn't change anything for them… And good loopers just don't need it.

If someone doesnt want to be tunneled then they shoudnt heal under hook and bring anti tunneling perks just incase. Adapt overcome survive
Tell me that you only play one side without acually telling me that you only play one side.
Believe me, there are killers that do not care about you healing under the hook because they're already there when you're getting saved. Just waiting for you to start running, following you and patiently waiting 10s. -

same goes for killer did the killer have fun seeing the game end in 5 minutes? probably not…
No, but they could actually play the game. Downvoting me won’t change that fact.

i say it and il say it again. Tunneling is the same as genrushing but one gets punished for doing so. (down vote me all you want its simply a fact)
It is not the same, for the sole reason that tunneling prevents one specific player from playing the game—genrushing doesn't.
It's not about the efficiency of the tactic; it's about the feelings of that particular player getting tunneled out. Did they have fun not playing the game and just spectating on a hook? Probably not. -
Yeah if you get tea—bagged in chase, drop it. Most of the time, it's a sign of confidence from that survivor and as @P0rshulz said, they want you to keep chasing them. Don't take the bait!
-
So, the way I see it is as follows:
1 - Bad survivors tend to tea-bag at exit gates, probably because they don't escape that often and feel… "something?" when it finally happens. Don't mind them, they're just a bunch of frustrated people.
2 - Good survivors who tea-bag often do so because someone was camped/tunneled/slugged for a long time. But of course there are exceptions.
-
Hey! Replying a bit late but I hope I can still help you.
You could try doing this:
1 - Press the Windows logo button + R2 - Write %localappdata% in the text box and enter
3 - Go to DeadByDaylight > Saved > Config > WindowsNoEditor
4 - Delete Engine.ini and GameUserSettings.ini
I guess that restarting the game should create those files once again with the default values. The game shouldn't be set to Ultra settings anymore and your computer should be able to start it. -
The exact same thing keeps happening to me! I'll see people running around, doing gens or whatever, but if I try to do a gen, it won’t progress… Then, a few seconds later, I get disconnected—with a penalty as a bonus free gift.
