I don't think that's good logic. The killer should have an advantage in the 1v1, but overall the 4 need to be more powerful as a whole. And even in the 1v1 it should largely still be down to gameplay and who is the better player. Not "Killer see's me i'm automatically dead cause they are the POWER ROLE" which is unfortunately the way the game has been heading since the Oni update.

Survivor needs to be fun and strong because there needs to be 4x the playerbase for them. And between the devs recently nerfing the most important resource survivors have (maps) and also releasing a slew of hideously unfun killers to play against; I feel like that's why we are seeing the 10-15 minute Q times for killer that were previously instant.

Totally. I feel like people on these forums are so much in a mindset of Surviors Vs Killers that they forget we are all playing the same game. Tip the scales too much, it hurts everyone. Game needs to be fun, first and foremost.

Forgive me but what is Corpse Party? Sounds like a parody movie.

Its a storyline based game made for a couple of Nintendo systems. There is also an anime. Essentially, kids get trapped in a school which mirrors a different twisted dimension where ghosts slaughter people. Watched the anime but did not get into the games. Pretty (sometimes alarmingly/unnecessarly) violent...

But I don't get it - how would this be ANY different than Dbd's Spirit? Japanese schoolgirl ghost killing people fits the genre of Corpse Party. Am I missing something?

  • Sounds like we are all having the same issue. My Steam also tells me to "PURCHASE" instead of "PLAY". When this gets resolved, I hope Mod/Developer puts out an easy-to-find post on how to correct the issue, if not self corrected.

a set is an outfit that cannot be combined with other outfit "parts" so to say

How do you know if a cosmetic piece is part of a set though?

    Thanks!

  • Newbie here. So what determines a "set" that you wont be able to mix and match? Are sets only able to be bought using cells and cannot be bought with free shards? I've seen this topic but still a bit lost. Can some please explain? Thanks!

  • I was thinking to myself, what was The Legion's mori again? After a quick youtube search... Uh, definitely not that one. Lol... Bleeding out sounds like probably one of the better methods to go if you had to pick!

I was thinking a time limit on how long gens can go without being touched. Like a 10 minute timer and if gens are not touched its instant sacrifice. Then a 25% increase for gen repairs if the killer camps, that or no BP for the sacrifice.

That would be interesting, but I feel like this would quickly end up with the same issue. If survivors could just touch a gen for 1 second to then gain another 10 mins of hiding... I feel like people wouldn't be satisfied with that... I do like the counter if killers are camping, but I think the community wouldn't agree with what is defined as camping... Dunno!

SWF explains alot. Play solo or with just one other friend, wait in que for 5 minutes, then getting face camped is a miserable experience. I'm glad you have fun with the game but that does not change the fact that there are severe issues with the game that must be addressed. There is a fun game here, it's why I keep coming back even though it's usually short lived, but the severity of the issues at times outweigh that fun.

I hear you. I'm a solo player and there are definitely some issues here and there.

So overall, how happy would YOU be if the game added a overall time limit per match? Say... Make it 20 or 30 mins. Long enough to build suspense but prevents survivors from doing nothing but hiding? This seems like it woild be a quick fix.

"Whine about a video game eating up people's time"

You sit in an hour and a half long match of survivors doing nothing but hiding from you. Not doing gens or anything, just hiding. You sit through that, tell me how fun it is, then post something like this again. Until then just shut up. You have no idea how annoying it is as a killer when you're held hostage in a game. You either have to DC or just waste an hour of doing literally nothing. Why should you have to DC for playing well and backing survivors into a 3gen?

I typically run Whispers. Again, I am not a great killer, but if you cannot find someone for 30 mins, seems like a faulty killer.

Also, I do love slow paced games. I couldn't care less about maxing blood points or rank. This IS a game and when you don't enjoy it you better either switch up your play style or find a new game.

The difference with what you’re describing is you are eventually going to bleed out. So you’re not trapped in the game. Whereas with what the OP experienced, he was trapped. As the only thing that was going to make the match end were the generators being fixed or the survivors being killed. The fact they hid for an hour is taking the game hostage. It doesn’t matter if you personally feel like it is or not, the game developers have spoken on this before and you can be banned for it. Also, Kindred doesn’t work when you’re on the ground. Only when you’re on the hook.

LoL!! So really, my teammates just DOOMED me to die without realizing killer was hovering over me since Kindred only turns on when hooked!? Well jeez TheLastGreatStar...! That puts a whole different spin on my outlook now!! Lmao... I do follow your point though. I get it now. Thanks =)

Nobody is freaking out about games taking longer, but how is doing nothing for over 10 mins fun? Are you telling me if a killer blocked you into a corner for hours (which is possible) with no way for the game to end but for you to DC, that’s okay? Because it really isn’t. It’s classed as taking the game hostage and it’s a bannable offence. A game can only end when all survivors are dead or have escaped. If EGC hasn’t been triggered you’re forced to stay in the game.

With you being a new killer, I am going to assume you haven’t encountered anything like this yet. But I’ve been playing for 3 years now and it can happen and it is annoying. I have no problem with chasing and tracking. But if a Claudette is just moving from bush to bush, how am I supposed to find her with ease? This isn’t just something people are complaining about for no reason. The fact people can be banned for it is all you need to know.

I have played a match as survivor where killer Myers downed me first, then proceeded to watch me bleed out for the rest of the match. I was running Kindred, so luckily no one tried to save me. I was mostly entertained honestly, as I crawled slowly across the map away from survivors. Needless to say, I was the only one to die. But you are right; I've never been fully blocked in before - hat wouldn't be nearly as fun... This case OP describes just doesn't seem as "hostage" to me. If BP are the issue, maybe that could reworked, as it sounds like there are a lot of issues with BP earnings. . .

  • Hey guys,

Let me start with saying I am a newer player with under 100 hours of gameplay experience. I try to play both sides evenly, and I AM a pretty weak killer, though it is fun.

With that being said... This game is a hide and seek game. Why, so often, are people whinning that people sometimes play the game as such? I find it interesting when I have a couple survivors left hiding on me! People's comments always reads as if they have no time to play a video game, which in itself is a time waster. If every match lasted 5 - 10 mins, I would get amazingly bored with this game fast. If everyone is freaking out about games that may take longer, this game really should implement a timeframe, no different than F13 does. Make every match 20-40 mins. The Lore could justify doing such by stating if you do not escape by Daylight, you are trapped forever. You could even make this a new game ending: stalemate or To Be Continued. I would rather this approach is taken rathet than seeing people whine about a video game eating up time. Really guys? =/

  • Awesome - Thank you everyone for the explanations! =)

  • While playing as killer, my wireless mouse died, taking me out of commission for most of the entire game. Finally switched out batteries and found some of the survivors waiting at the exit, who offered to sacrifice themselves realizing there had been some type of issue. I refused the pity sacrifice and carried them to the exit. I explained what happened in post chat, expecting trash talk from survivors... but was happy to find everyone was pleasant and understanding! Was definitely a moment I will remember.

Welcome to the game and the community!

Your opinions about how strong or weak killers are will change all the time as you sink more hours into the game. I remember when I was much more new and used to think Pig was the most OP killer ever, and now I don’t think so at all haha.

Most people here will probably disagree with you about Wraith being overpowered - a lot of people consider Wraith quite weak, and he’s definitely a killer that can be harder to do well with against experienced survivors. If you want tips on how to survive against him, I’d recommend checking out some looping guides on YouTube. Using windows and pallets effectively definitely helps you to perform better against him!

Thanks! It's good to be here!

Everyone's comments makes sense to me. Hopefully in due time, I will view him as low to mid tierred killer as well. I was curious to how the community viewed him. I will just have to suck up my dislike toward him!

Unrelated to original post, but I currently think matches vs Freddie (The Nightmare?) are the strangest and most interesting matches I've played against. Would love to see more trippy killer techniques =)

Just throwing this out there but theres a Wendigo in Supernatural

Yes to both Until Dawn AND Supernatural!!

I think it woild be cool to have a Wendigo or Shapeshifter character that could temporarily shread its terror zone and look like a survivor. How freaky would that be when you couldn't trust if your buddy was actually a friend or not?

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

What did you do these 90 minutes? Sorry but its impossible not to find them during this time.

This. Totally. I am new to DbD and can be pretty awful finding survivors - but never THAT awful. Your story seems exaggerated and whinny. Next.
