So is running around in circles, yet survivors do it a lot. It you have to decide between boring gameplay a and equally boring gameplay b which rewards you a kill, you might be temped to take b over a.

I was waiting for someone to say something like this. Does looping cause a game to come to a complete standstill? Nothing happening, nobody moving? There's more to looping than there is camping. As a killer you can mind game to get the survivor and the same as survivor. There is an element of skill. With camping there is no mind game, no skill, nobody doing anything. Its pointless and even more boring

Almost like we do see the scratch marks you can't see, and we can see if someone stopped running last minute because those marks tend to sprawl out on tree's and buildings higher than you'd think (reasons why predator sucks). Not to mention there's a good chance he saw nobody with BBQ/gens worked on with thrilling tremors which is a very solid tell that someone is getting ready to save as soon as you leave. Another reason people will camp hook expecting someone to be there is if people autosaved people off the hook in the past as soon as the killer looked away and walked for a second (which people are still dumb enough to do).

I understand in them situations but I'm talking about nobody anywhere near the hook. Like really far away so it would be impossible for scratch marks to be anywhere. I know through bond and walking and crouching a safe distance away. I feel like everybody is skipping over this part of what I'm saying

Ok but it's not impossible for him to have a reason to think you are nearby.

BBQ, Crows, Grass, Sounds, Prediction ect.

Even at rank 15 they do it. The killers are potatoes for the most part as well so they won't notice Crows and hear bushes. But nobody is near for the most part so there's no reason for them to think that

  • Clearly people didn't read my comment. I'm not sprinting. I'm walking. And I stay a safe distance from the hook so it's impossible for me to leave scratchmarks near the hook.

But they don't need to, camping is legit.

Maybe they wanna try to make you feel better, to make it look like there was an actual reason to stay.

Yes but it ruins the fun for everyone. Camping is such a boring way to play. It's a strategy but a crap one

  • @Witas said:

Well, I've actually never seen someone use that as an excuse 😅

But in all seriousness, sometimes you just know that there are more survivors around the hook, you don't need scratchmarks to tell you that directly, sometimes you have a gut feeling, sometimes you've seen/heard some grass movement, it's not as bad as people make it out to be, most of the time when someone stays around the hook, they have a reason.

Not saying idiots who camp just to annoy people don't exist, but they're a lot less common than most realise.

    @Boss said:

Sometimes, it might be that the Killer saw the Scratchmarks that were still left behind by the one they just hooked by picking them up immediately and hooking them immediately.

    @joker7997 said:

Killer main, don't think I've ever said that, and I don't camp unless all the gens are done. What actually happens is survivors try to flashlight save, body block, or otherwise make me drop the survivor I'm carrying. When this happens after hooking I wont camp, but I will extremely thoroughly check the entire surrounding area around the hooked survivor because I know some prick is there asking for it.

I'm rank 10-15 usually and play on xbox so you can imagine the killers aren't the best. Not terrible but not amazing. And I'm being serious when I say that sometimes people are losing and know this so just try and make excuses to get a kill

  • @premiumRICE said:

Well thats Why you go for safe hooks or use BT and you suppose the killer will always go back at the hook when you save somebody.

you cant e pect the killer to make you unhook and heal. Preventing that is basically a ein condition.

I do try and go for safe hooks but the killer won't leave and pretend there's scratchmarks everywhere when I know thats impossible. It's an excuse to camp

  • @PistolTimb said:

You can't see your own scratch marks (without Fixated). They can be left on trees and walls which can tip the killer off to your presence even if you think you're being stealthy.

I walk over to the hook. I make sure not to run and leave scratchmarks for that reason. And when I see no teammates nearby and I have bond there should not be any scratchmarks anywhere

  • @PoisonN said:

Then why every killer uses ruin, pop goes the weasel or corrupt intervention?

I mean, I don't blame survivors because it's their object but we can't pretend that gens are slow. They're not. If you bring toolboxes and some other perks then it's way more bizarre how quicky the match ends. You can end one chase and here we go, 2 gens are done. Not to mention SWF which are way more organized than solo players. It isn't the killer fault because some maps are too big (Red Forest) and some maps has too many safe pallets/jungle gyns/infinites to gain time. You can't really press all the gens unless you're using Spirit or Nurse. Give up the chase? Yeah, sometimes works. Sometimes not.

Yeah you're right gens go by too quick. But my point was that is the normal speed of gens. And the whole gen rushing term would indicate people are trying to do it as quick as possible. Yet that's not the case most of the time. People just find one and start it. They don't have the mindset of "I have to do this as quickly as possible". Well the majority of the time anyway.

  • Come on guys can we not turn this into another killer v survivor scenario. You're all right, it just goes against what others think. Just respect each others point of view that's all I ask.

  • @FondaDix said:

Stick with me here. I have a crazy idea. I think there should be a repair kit and med kit cap for matches. If you’re with a group whomever has has the item equipped first gets to run that item, no duplicates. Maybe there is some RNG that determines who gets to choose their item first. It would cut down on gen rushing and crazy health builds. And you can still scout the stage for items. When the match starts.

Wouldn't fix gen rushing still, most of the time when people complain about it nobody is even using a toolbox, at the most one person. So this wouldn't really change anything in regards to gen speed.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

It's gen rushing if they bring toolboxes. Otherwise I'm sorry. But no it's not rushing gens. It's doing your objective.

To the OP. If you aren't doing totems you are a fool. If everyone did them. Noed would be the worst perk in the game. Even if there is no Noed. It's 1,000 blood points and light bringer points for 14 seconds of your time.even if you cleanse all of them it's only 70 seconds.

I often go out of my way to do totems if I see the game starting to go by fairly quick. But that isn't enough to stop 5 minute games most of the time. And yeah it's free bloodpoints so I'll usually do one if I see it anyway.

Yall can tunnel generators but I can't tunnel yall? I see how it is.

Not exactly tunneling if that's the only option. That's like accusing a killer of tunneling the last remaining survivor, it doesn't make sense.

  • @switch said:

Ok i feel you, now go to all survivors that say camping and tunneling are real, cause judging by what you're saying those aren't real.

I mean there's a fine line when it comes to camping, where the killer won't leave the hook. And tunneling is simple, the killer will not target any other survivor apart from one. However when it comes to the term gen rushing the line is distorted. I don't think it's necessarily a thing, unless all 4 survivors bring toolboxes with BNP and speed add ons and really go for it. But the term gen rushing gets thrown around constantly and it just lost meaning for me. I could do a gen by myself in less than 2 minutes and be called a gen rusher when it isn't the case at all, I just had nothing else to do. The same for tunneling and camping, killers get blamed for it when they don't. But I guess it mainly is just a matter of perspective

  • @Rivyn said:

Gen rushing is real, but it isn't the fault of the survivors. Why you think we killers blame you for it (Unless you all bring toolboxes) is beyond me. We don't blame survivors. We blame the way the game is set up. Go into a match without Ruin (or have it pop in under a minute), without a killer who has mobility, and a halfway decent team, and see how fast those gens pop.

I understand where you're coming from, you and plenty other killers don't blame survivors you're right. But there are still a lot who do. They don't see that there really isn't anything else to do and the devs need to do something about it.
