While I think Sole Survivor might still be a little weak as a perk, I think this version of the perk is much, much healthier for the game overall. The old version of the perk was only useful with OoO, and it encouraged you to stay out of the action. That meant a lot of people that used it just camped the edges of the map, basically doing nothing, until their teammates died. So it made the game less fun for the killer, and the other survivors, witrh only the one running the perk enjoying themselves.
The new version now encourages proactive play and punishes people who afk in a corner. You now want to be in the heart of the action, making saves, doing gens etc. The perk now at least has potential to be useful when not run alongside OoO. While it's interaction with OoO is nerfed, once three teammates are dead you can still be about half a map away from the killer and see him without him seeing you; that's definitely a nerf, but it also at least gives the killer some counterplay to the combo, which was previously lacking.
I think it's still going to be a situational perk, and probably not used by the vast majority of the community, but it's a step in the right direction. I think if it had some other passive effect, or even just a small aura shroud while no one is dead, that might help make the perk more viable.
The point of sole survivor is to use it with object of obsession. While some may camp in corners, many like myself do gens and rescue survivors and just hope they would die. If they increased the meters to 32 meters, 48 meters, and 64 meters and made it so you get a token if your teammate leaves, then it could still be run with object of obsession and would be a lot better. The devs proposed idea is to use the perk to combat nurse's calling but I would prefer running it with object of obsession.
-
Not really fitting with the theme but an interesting perk:
Sacrifice - getting hooked grants tokens and each token grants 5% speed towards actions for your teammates (does not effect you) and you are only able to get up to 3 tokens
-
I personally don't like the sole survivor change. People usually use it alongside object of obsession and with this proposed change, the two won't work together. If they increased the meter range from 32 meter/48 meter/ 64 meter, I feel as though it would be a lot better
-
Personally, I feel as though the range needs to be increased. The point of sole survivor is to run it with object of obsession and once everyone died, you were able to see the killer without the killer being able to see you. After the first survivor dies, the range should be 48 meters, then 56 meters, then 64 meters (immune at that point). Or maybe 32 meters, 48 meters, then 64 meters instead of the meters above ^
-
A cabin in the woods - A wooden cabin that is somewhat big in the middle of the map along with giant trees. This could be similar to the Huntress' map
-
Sorry, I know this is late but I would like to point out something. Your math is correct, however, you are using the survivor as the center point of the perk rather than the killer. After 1 token (non obsession) you are invisible within 32 meters of the killer (basically useless). After 2 tokens, you are invisible within a 48 meter range of the killer (16 meters outside terror radius). After all survivors are dead, you should theoretically be immune.
-
They should nerf sprint burst directly because now the other exhaustion perks are not going to be used as much. Instead of the no regen while running, they should make it to no regen while in a chase. They could also just make sprint burst activate seconds after running so those ambush killers have a higher change of getting a hit. Keep in mind that these are just ideas and not something that is 100% going to happen.

I'm not mad about the certification process since they haven't even sent it a month ago since PTB. I understand that that takes time, however, they should have delayed the PC update until console got it to have a same day release. Also I hope they don't anymore PTBs for chapters since it ruined the hype for PC players and especially for console players despite it not being released yet. Certain bugs wouldn't have been in the PTB if they actually played it (having a different map variation instead of the one being shown on screen).
-
I know this is old, but what if they sold the charity case on a website and give those who bought it a code that could be redeemed on console. I'm not sure if Sony or Microsoft would still get profit, but this is what F13 the game did for their preorder of the Savini skin and the clothing pack.
-
I play pig as my killer main as of right now and she's pretty average. They could buff her traps by making them go off as soon as you get off the hook because in a swf or without a gen popped, her traps are useless. Her traps are only good for end game because you can't escape with them on.

@fcc2014 some players are upset they have to wait for the shrine to be back and feel it’s ridiculous they need to wait for console for that too yet we get called the whiners lol I’ll never understand the logicMy point is we all got screwed.... Some of us more then others but you can still earn shards. Some of us have reached the cap or are close.
I've been saving blood points ever since the teaser trailer was released and I obviously spent blood points during cap but its a pain not to just use them all on the new survivor. Right now I'm stuck with 1000 shards until the new chapter is released and I wish I can just buy a perk off the shrine but I already bought all 4. I personally feel like they should give us more shards after the chapter is released since PC players have like 10,000k shards already. I have no idea why they didn't remove the blood point and shard cap sooner (I know blood points have a cap still).

There are definitely certain limitations specific to console. Since we don't have a mouse or keyboard, we obviously can't 360 as quickly even with max sensitivity. Not to mention console has a daily issue where we can't collect one specific daily when multiple are completed. Wait times are ridiculous on console past a certain time (at least ps4) and lobbies take about 30 min for survivor only to get dodged. We also have a problem where killers can dc but survivors don't get any points and lose their offerings. They don't dc through the in game way, they close their applications so nobody can get points and survivors lose their offerings and items. Not to mention, the game has certain delays where survivors can't jump through windows or pallets quick enough and have a second delay before actually jumping. The console version of this game definitely needs to get looked into.360 works fine with controller, a lot of PC players are playing with controller too if they play survivor
Well dailies dont affect balance
Oh and btw, if the survivors DC, then killer loses everything addons+offerings and gets laughable 2,5k BP, and this is the case even on PC
I mean why would you deny the equality between PC and console? If I want to save my dailies but don't want them to stack, then I should be able to collect just one and not collect all of them.
For the 360, the PC version of this game is much smoother so I can see why 360s would work for them. Console version can't really 360 since it isn't as smooth, so we usually get hit.
As for DC on console, survivors and killers are also able to DC without any repercussion. They don't DC with the in game mechanic which is what PC players do that causes them to lose offerings, items etc., but instead they DC by closing the game and are able to keep any add ons, offerings, etc.
I once played DBD on a potato laptop and had to deal with 20-30 FPS, with that experience I would consider the low fps on console causing way more issues for killer than for the survivor.
At the laptop e.g. I wasnt able to hit a 360ing survivorI know about the closing app issue, just said that killers are punished no matter how you DC

The low frame rates are something the devs should look into for console in order to make the experience better for both survivor and killer. While playing, there are definitely some hits that look as though they should've not hit, and same can be said for jukes that look like they should've connect but didn't.

Killers expect you to hide and gain distance from them, not run around in circles and exploit a poorly implemented game mechanic. It's not an alien concept since this is a hide and seek game. Also, how do you expect survivors to hide against killers like doc who causes you to scream, especially when he has distressing?
Uhm...simply put...GIT GUD????
And you obviously can play stealthy against every killer except doc, unless they have some add ons (scratched mirror Michael, etc.)

So you expect survivors not to be found while playing against a doc who has distressing but get mad as soon as they start looping? Great logic.

They should definitely remove certain pallet loops and infinites (using this word loosely) in upcoming patches, but as a console player, we have certain delays within the game that causes loops to not be as good as PC players. Playing on PC and playing on console are very different and it should be taken into consideration during patches.Delays? What are you talking about?
When jumping through a window or pallet, you are kinda like frozen in the animation for like a split second before you actually jump
That has nothing to do with console though, you are describing lagg (maybe try connecting your console via LAN)
That specific issue does sound like lag, but there is a known framerate issue on the consoles and it does cause the vault to be a bit glitchy.
Yeah I guess that is what I am referring to

that's not a delay, that was changes made to vault timings in order to make them more balanced. If you time them right (which you aren't) it's not an issue.
I understand that that was a change made to vaults, but the console version is not as smooth as the PC version regardless of timing.
that hasn't stopped pallet looping. No offense but you probably aren't god like at it is a ll. We all ######### on it because most people are good / above average, it is a skill in some regards to be able to be god like at it. Not everyone can do it quite like the top tier people do.
I try not to pallet loop but its hard running around and jumping through windows on console. Obviously, when I need to use the pallet, I have to pallet loop instead of wasting the pallet on the spot.

Also, I mentioned doctor because as someone said, they want survivors to be stealthy and you can't really be stealthy against doc. I've had multiple games held hostage against doc as well with his annoying build (overcharge, distressing, unnerving presence, etc).If you see a doctor use that build (Which I do) then it's time to find ways to put distance between yourself and the Killer and repair generators as fast as possible. If you're pallet looping, you're eventually going to bore the Killer to the point where they actually do get the common sense to change plans and kill the repairmen.
Certain maps do not let you do this strategy such as haddonfield, the game, and the preschool. And boring the killer where they have to leave you doesn't really work on console. I've seen plenty of gameplay on PC where killers basically let survivors leave, but on console (PS4 for me) killers just chase you until you go down.

If you see sparks under your feet maybe it's not a good idea to sit in the same spot for 3 hours until you scream?
Regardless if I leave the spot or not, I eventually scream so hiding is not an option against him.

Do you just expect survivors to run straight just so you can hit them? You could mind game the pallet loops and with bloodlust, you could probably catch the survivor.you do realize bloodlust takes "time" to build and even then mind gaming doesnt work all the time. Just saying
also you said "probably" not helpful
Yeah that may be true, however, what do you expect survivors to do without pallet looping? If we jump through windows (which is kinda broken on console) the whole match, that could still be considered as looping.

A way to keep both those people who earned the legacy back then and newer players is to simply create legacy cosmetics for the newer characters. This will let those who earned the cosmetics to keep them and have them as a souvenir for playing the game back then, while at the same time it will let the newer players be able to get legacy on the newer survivors (Ace, Feng, David, Kate). I'm not sure about the licensed characters though.
