  • Sounds like you expected way too much from a perk. You can't force someone to play a certain way,if that killer wants to camp/tunnel you to death then you're gonna die and there's no way around it.

exactly this, but unfortunately the hatch is needed to end the game otherwise the last survivor would hide forever.

Could add a function where a survivor gets a key after being the last one alive for 25s. That way they don't instantly escape and need to unlock the hatch as well. also like bloodwarden,if they get downed while near the hatch, they can't crawl into it for 4-5s.

That way the last survivor would need to choose between risking the gates or looking for the hatch despite the risk of the killer getting them. Risks make something worth thinking about and it's pretty fun taking those risks knowing they won't always pay off.

  • Sorry man,I need the points and I simply play as I like to. Plus there wouldn't be a need to slug if the hatch wasn't a thing so *shrug*

  • @neb said:

just equip OP ######### if you really want to win

Pretty sure survivors complain to death about it if we do

  • That went down the shitter the moment they nerfed bbq. Monstrous shrine is the next best thing imo but it only works to kill the survivor faster (which they'd have an issue with anyway)

So unfortunately, they DID try but they can't nerf practicality and effectiveness in favor of "playing nice"

  • Does it take 6 months for survivors to know not to be anywhere near the basement when bubba is in the game?

  • You can leave, that'd be fine. The rest of us still have fun despite the shenanigans this game and it's player get up to.

Like I said,no is forcing you to play so if you want to leave then the Uninstall button shouldn't be too hard for you to find.

  • Are..you seriously trying to compare two completely different characters...?

Literally they have nothing much in common other than badass moris and TENTACLES.

Anyway, nemesis is an oppressive anti loop killer while wesker needs to play around loops like any other M1 killer. You may bring up his pallet vault,to that,I ask have you ever played legion against Decent players? It doesn't if you can vault, the survivor will just vault from where you came from and now things are worse than before.

Nemesis doesn't care about a good majority of loops at all once he's at least T2.

Terminus isn't great by itself but it becomes AMAZING with 4 stacks of no way out

I imagine it doing pretty damn well with blood warden as well,it all just hinges on how you intend to use it like you put.

  • Just tap the gen? Like what????

You know that if you want to deal with regression, you literally just have to be on a Gen for a split second (because that's no bs at all)

  • Games basically done, just wait your turn to get hooked or DC and lose all your points. Well, either way you lose but one doesn't make you look like a sore loser.

  • Thing is,not even legion could realistically get much value from Thanatophobia. I'm actually just gonna drop the perk for gift of pain or dms. Sucks too since thana was pretty solid before the buffs for legion and plague. In terms of builds,I think the new legion build is: Pain resonance,DMS,Dying light, and probably overcharge or call of brine.

well im not even gonna read your whole thing. mainly for the simple fact... solo and perk usage referral. as soon as you say to just run perks its the equivalent of just pressure gens or git gud. they avoid adressing the real issue and give an easy answer when it is illogical to ruin your own diversity just for the chance that you have a game like this.

To top that off yeah skill issue on my teammates part, but not everyone is going to be good at chase and my friend i played with is EXTREMELY casual. has over 2000 hours and still runs INTO killers at loops. It wouldnt be fair of me to force her to run perks so she wont die when it takes away the perks she likes to run and it is unfair of me to force her to git gud just so she wont die when she doesnt care about winning or losing. she cares about being tunneled THROUGH DS.

the ttv had no anti tunnel perks and was screwed regardless and i just died because i was bmming him because i wanted out of the match. your solves would literally ruin any diversity and literally builds a new meta. sorry but youre telling me and others to run anti tunnel build and second chance when it was so bad before? XD yeah only because YOU and OTHERS and even I can tunnel through ds and off the record so it doesnt matter. plus the fact most people are solo and dont play to be great they wont make much use of those perks if they cant loop and they cant do gens either.

and as for legion counter... yet again solo. the fact that people literally cant even give good ideas or solutions to the issue besides the same things that people have been saying for years is ASTOUNDING. JuSt PrEsSuRe GeNs... sound familiar? or just do gens or dont save when they camp or dont heal against legion and dont cleanse and run iron will and just stand still. these so called great counters all had one issue or more... SOLO QUE legitimately takes away the whole point. maybe if thats your advice to a swf who is coordinated.

also gen times were 80 seconds and before they added even stronger slowdown the killers struggled due to huge maps and therefore it got fixed. killers suffered from lots of pallets and that wasnt fixed because they didnt suffer in solo que. they suffered against swf which are the minority. they buffed gen times and left multiple strong regression builds and killers STILL used it. killers decided to camp and tunnel more because they could get away with it better with the gen speed increase and the buffs to basekit CAUSING the new meta suggestion.

Killers have always had so many problems that prevented them from just pressuring and where getting good didnt always help and solo que suffers the same. and now that killer is a bit stronger people still play like its a swf and even play more mean with builds and strategies.

Ive seen an uptick in tunneling, camping and gen regress builds than ever before. it shows a problem with the game and community. i need dead hard ds and otr just to live and then i need prove thyself so i can do gens faster and so does everyone else. do you see the issue?

if the majority of the game is solo q... that means that on the major level every piece of advise is less effective to ineffective. I and many others have explained why these "fixes" and "counters" dont work in solo 60 percent of the time. keeping yourself alive doesnt mean anything when mmr makes it a dice roll. if i can loop a killer for 3 gens ands he hooks me finally and destroys my teammate he wont chase me again and if he doesnt and my teammates are horrible I will still lose and that killer 4ks or 3k and wins. technically they SHOULD win because they are better than everyone BUT me. but I and many others are in a lower mmr than we should so we suffer as welll.

Sorry this was long winded and i actually did read all of yours because it wouldnt be fair if i ignored anything you said, and yes your fixes do work but when i talk about problems and most others its because of solo que and that is why your fixes dont work at most levels or barely work. just so you know im not throwing out everything you said

You said my fixes work, that's the end of discussion. If your friend has 2k hours but still runs right into killers on loops then that's a skill issue regardless and maybe you need to teach him to git gud if you're so skilled yourself. Plus you weren't soloq, you had someone with you. You could've told your friend to split up.

As for an anti tunneling build,I never said that,I said that you have need of only 1 anti tunneling perk and that's because OTR is quite possibly far stronger than DS was as it provides 3 things in 1 perk. Bring OTR and you'll never be tunneled again unless the killer wants to majorly throw.

Soloq isn't impossible,it's when you don't even try to see what you can do to help yourself in the situation and future scenarios that make it seem impossible.

It’s only a 300% regression it’s actually not that bad

The bug (unless it was patched) where it still keeps going even after you tapped the gen/did the skill check

  • People used MoM? That's a shocker to me.

Also the thana nerf is literally rewarding survivors for being awful and the punishing the killer for being good,so basically it's another ruin/corrupt situation sadly.

Also,it's been addressed, take a look at the perks and look for one called "Off the record" and you'll see that tunneling is incredibly hard to pull off when a survivor has 80s of endurance, makes your aura unable to be read, and suppresses your grunts. 3 perks in 1 peek lol

If camping is an issue then get kinship or kindred.

Honestly, survivors complain that they shouldn't need perks to deal with things but they had zero issues running the same stuff for years :/

  • Hard knee-jerk,not even legion makes use out of this. Proof that if survivors cry hard enough, they get their way unfortunately lul.

Well,at least I have DMS+PR and dying light to replace thana and such on legion!

  • It's hardly the end of the world. At least now you don't get a noise notification for it. They should look into call of brine and overcharge if anything.

The whole point of the recent update was to allow both sides to use a variety of perks and not feel forced to bring certain perks JUST to have a somewhat normal game. In my experience hardcore camping happens in low tier mmr more often due to the killer being inexperienced so they think the only way to interact with other survivors is to wait for someone to come to the rescue.

in high mmr tho camping and tunneling are used more ‚wisely‘ if you want to call it that,to maybe secure a kill or control a certain area.

then there are people who enjoy the end game salt in chat and who do it on purpose even if it means they’re gonna throw the game for some basement bubba shenanigans.

once you figure out which one of the above you’re facing,it makes it a bit easier to play around it.

Well if your experience isn't so normal then ideally you'd bring something to more or less equalize the situation yeah? Plus OTR is literally too valuable to not have on hand, its legit 3 perks in 1 perk so I'm keeping that on me for convenience sake. Although if we're going to be using the argument of "you shouldn't feel forced to bring certain perks to have a normal experience" then a good amount of exhaustion perks wanna say hello lol

Also at high mmr, camping is hard to pull off as opposed to tunneling. Mid mmr (where I'm at) anything can go for you so long as you know how to go about it.

  • Tunneling? Easy,OTR. It's a better DS,it also mutes your grunts and such for a bit. It's essentially 3 perks in 1.

For legion,do the gens closest to the center while spread out. Don't 3 gen yourselves because then the games basically over for you all. For gens,I'm sorry but you're gonna need to brute force em. Should go without saying that you shouldn't group up as well, you're actively throwing if you are. If you took care of the center packed gens then the game is much harder on the legion because he can't be everywhere, especially since lerys takes a bit to traverse.

If you see the mend bar appear on your teammate then get off your gen or whatever you're doing and run to a corner of the map or simply hold w away from legions direction. If things are a bit too dicey then camp a pallet, they'll be forced to take a 50/50 in trying to lunge through for a hit or run into you just to get stunned out of their frenzy (of course, this is in the scenario they dont have Julie's and iri button.) Your teammates can actually body block the legion at certain doorways on lerys after some seconds pass so if they're already deep wounded,it'd be a good idea for them to block legion so he'll be forced to take an alternate route, cancel frenzy,or hit the guy again (which just resets mend progress)

Also to your last remark, nothing in this game is really guaranteed. It may look like that after one bad game but skill issues are such a thing. Like there was no real guarantee you would've gotten lerys, you could've gotten garden, eyrie,or another horrifically balanced map. What is guaranteed is that you can do something if you know how to go about it,from what I've read? You all were going about things the wrong way, especially on a slowdown heavy killer like legion.

  • Or you can run OTR and completely negate tunneling with 80s of invulnerability/endurance.

    Kinship/Kindred for camping

And overcome if need be to really get the hell outta dodge.

Idk,might just be me tbh when I see all these perks available that make tunneling and camping a huge pain to do.

Maybe instead of showing it pre match have it show on the loading screen since thats just kinda dead time anyways

I can get with this, although I'd like if the killer can see as well in the lobby. Like how they can see the items they bring,it might sound like a bad idea but the killers having the advantage of knowing what you have is more or less equal unto your teammates knowing what you have.

  • @jesterkind said:

What I want would be some variation on the following:

    • Action icons for portraits. It was a good suggestion, I wanna see it in-game, they had a good idea there.
    • The ability to see your teammate's perk build in the pre-game lobby and in the mid-match "match details" screen. Plenty of perks are the sole domain of SWF because they require some kind of coordination to activate, and even more are made less effective by your team not realising what you're trying to achieve with them. Nothing can force random teammates to cooperate, but people should at least have the option if they're paying attention and feeling team-oriented.
    • Some form of basekit Kindred would still be a good idea. Either the effects of the perk itself, or some other indication for when the killer is camping.
    • Not really strictly a solo queue only thing, but the basekit anti-tunnel measures could use a slight buff. In my opinion, buffing the Haste percentage instead of either duration is the right call.

Solo queue's problems are, exclusively, a lack of information and a lack of coordination. Nothing can force random teammates to coordinate if they don't want to, but you can fix the information gap.

Dunno about this tbh,The ability to see ahead of what your matchmaking will lead to entitled twits leaving if they see 1 person not running the absolute meta or just general trolling.

  • Thana will still be great on legion,at least now survivors can quit rage quitting over one perk lol

Still, kinda wonder why they didn't really address the brine + overcharge bug since that seems to be pretty much the new outcry.

Why do you need to run so many perks just to avoid a cheap tactic? How about the game devs just maybe remove it, which was what they for whatever reason thought was happening with a great 5 second bt.

If they're in the game and the developers have stated that they're not something bannable then they're fair game. Plus,no one said you need to bring them all,you could just bring OTR (which is 3-4 perks in 1) and do well with just that alone.

Don't get your hopes up about camping/tunneling being removed,it won't happen.

  • I think I have plenty from observing over the years and playing as well, only reason people seem to think this is a disaster is because this patch made very impactful changes to shift the power role. Killers are now more dominate within the soloq category (as they should be) and survivors that are obviously lower end are suffering for it because they were carried by a meta. Good survivors haven't changed,it's just more apparent who is a good survivor and who was pretending to be one. Regardless,I immediately pointed out the solutions to most problems people are having before (tunneling, etc) but there's always someone who will say "So I Need this to and give up a perk slot to deal with that?" To which, yes,if the problem is that prevalent then ideally you'd use the tools given or in the game to fix or remedy it. You work on your own game sense before addressing mine.

  • I agree with most of what you had to say except when you mentioned dead hard. It feels like a cop out (although valid in some arguments mind you) but regardless, you are correct. A decent chunk of Survivors get the raw deal for once and now they DC,ruining the game for others,or just die on 1st hook when things go wrong. If understand the sentiment if they were always the little guy but the meta was always within the survivors favor until now but that's not the case realistically. Also,it should go without saying,in a game with the 1v4 element, the 1 must always be much more powerful to contend with the sheer numbers the 4 have (this isn't including addons). In a game like dbd,the killer should feel oppressive and cause a sense of urgency to do your objective. Of course,we have one killer that does that the best and unfortunately she's on everyone's ######### list. Then again, this is assuming dbd will remain killer sided or if they're gonna keep trying to achieve a balance point (which would be the killer being stronger than survivors to balance out the 1v4 aspect.)

  • Putting a suggestion but I'd like if the devs actually muted the killers breathing/footsteps a bit when you're playing as them. On a good bit of killers (legion, trappers, etc) their breathing and footsteps are loud as well as their footsteps,so I personally have a hard time finding survivors that can be right next to me hiding or walking because legions breathing sounds close to a survivors and most killer footsteps drown out the sound of survivors steps.

  • People that claim the patch was a disaster are the ones having the knee jerk reaction to change. I mean, they complain about tunneling, camping, etc etc Yet I see multiple perks/solutions to combat this and that. OTR does well vs tunnelers,Kindred/Kinship do well to counteract camping,BT is still very powerful of an anti tunneling perk except this one isn't self applicable, etc etc.

it's just a good bit of survivors not accepting that they can't be the power role for once,it sounds very shallow but that's honestly what most of it comes down to.

Interesting alternative, you should start a separate thread for it. Here I wanted to discuss only what could be the issues with the "hook timer pause" solution. You didn't really post any issues, just your alternative solution. Thanks, but it is a bit offtopic.

It's better to give solutions than to complain/point out the problems. At least, that's how I feel.

Alright so we have to waste a perk slot just to combat a balance issue?

Well,it's not really a waste if you're using it for a scenario you know for sure you're gonna get value out of it from. It's 1 perk spot and that leaves you with 3,otr being incredibly stacked with things to make tunneling a pain in the rear to do. If you can't give up 1 perk slot (for a very strong perk mind you) then that's honestly on you. I run it and have a smoother time getting away and staying away.

  • I personally suggest a modified monstrous shrine effect of sorts.

Where if the killer leaves after a 24m range mark, the hook progresses faster and causes more urgency. If the killer is within 24m but not in chase, the hook slows down by..maybe 15-20% and survivors do gens faster by 20%.

Although if another survivor is around and running around the hook area (aka, the 24m mark) for a period of time then the hook begins to progress faster.

(Slight hot take: Tunneling and camping are valid strats, just not fun ones lol so killing strats will just make one more favorable than the other,at the end of the day, people are gonna play how they want to.)

  • @CheyeneKL said:

OTR is mitigated by camping, actually! Throw in a few stacks of STBFL and you've barely got a chance at a chase unless you happened to get hooked by some good resources. Killers who really don't like a survivor and know/assume they have OTR won't wait out BT, they'll go for the hit ASAP to get it out of the way and have an easier time downing them.

That's just worse for the killer then,no?

He's wasting so much time on one person while 2 others are just killing gens while he's stuck in one spot.

  • You know, tunneling can be mitigated if you run OTR right?

So if you're being chased that hard, then that's a lot of time down the Drain for killers.

  • @Sweet_Potato said:

Many killer mains claim survivors can't play without old DH, so they just need to learn how to loop properly (especally against Nurses and half the other killers with a build-in anti looping capability).

But to be honest, if you take a look on popular and skilled dbd killer streamers, they never had a problem with achieving a 4 k (or 3k + hatch escpae) in 90% of their matches before this update.

So why is there such a huge skill issue within the killer base, that apperently many killers can't win games without 125% movement speed after 25 seconds, forever-gens-builds and buffed camping and tunneling strategies?

For me,I personally think it's much more that a good bit of killer mains get too tied up into thinking they NEED to chase down the toxic/runner of the group. Before,I would lose matches because I gave my time to someone who was actually mid af at loops but I wasn't thinking so I made the situation worse. When you load in,your priority shouldn't be to chase the survivors who wants to be chased. It's to hunt down the survivors that are killing gens with toolboxes. I started getting 2k games a lot less frequently and started getting 3ks and up more. I feel the skill Gap lies in what you prioritize logically as opposed to emotionally, want to make the game hopeless to win? Target the 2 survivors that do gens, the game is over after 1 of those 2 are dead. Huge slowdown builds are more or less the killer meta as well unfortunately, that's more or less all we have save for a few utility and info perks. I'd use hex perks if they weren't spawned in the worst places imaginable but that won't be for a long time lol.

  • @MaudetteClorel said:

Don't get me wrong, legion has been neglected for a very long time by the devs and deserved the buff they got a couple months ago. Since the patch dropped I almost exclusively face legion legion legion a plague here and there or a huntress (THANK GOD).

But I'm so sick and tired of facing legion every single match with the same exact build.

I understand people threatening to leave DBD because their fav perks got killed or because sitting on a gen for 90 seconds is just boring, but I completely lost interest in DBD since I already know what killer it's gonna be while still being in the lobby.

Did people forget there are other killers with unique and interesting abilities? What makes you pick legion over and over again? Or maybe it's just my personal MMR invaded with legion mains only?

Is anyone else facing the same killer over and over again?

P.S.: the legion invasion hasn't even been that bad when legion and ghostface got buffed, but now it's a literal plague.

You know, typically there's a better solution. It's called splitting up and not greeding gens. It doesn't matter what legion has,if all survivors are at complete opposite corners of bigger maps like red forest and such, then he's not gonna get a chain hit (even with pills + sketch). Onto that, just because he's boring doesn't mean you should ignore him,if you're one of those people who literally sit on a Gen and let legion stab you then you're effectively helping him because that stab could be the 3rd or 4th chain hit and then he gets a down. Every survivor I've seen does this, they set up together on a gen, they see the mend bar appear on a teammate, they stay stuck to a Gen until the last second, get hit,and then wonder why things go downhill.

It's not hard to counter legion, people just don't want to actually put the thought into it.

It's a high chance that the killer is gonna be wesker. In which case,he might become a blight 2.0 or be a deathslinger with an actual gun instead of a harpoon. I'm excited for either lol

(For that don't know, look up Resident evil 5 gameplay of wesker and you'll see why I say he might be a blight 2.0)

    Hey.

So recently I played like 6 matches as a killer (3 nurse, 2 hag and 1 sadako)... And from each of this match, I've had people DC, afk (giving up) after 3 gen pops. I suppouse soloq only. And I swear, it's getting so ridiculous.

In some of this matches, they were ragequitting and afking even when I was actually losing, and I'm not kidding.

It was a match with hag, the match for me was awful, maybe the worst possible scenario (who playing hag, knows...) the only thing why I won this match, it's coz 1 guy just DC'd after I (somehow) downed him.

What is happening with survivors? What is the point of even getting into the match, if you know you're going to dc or ######### on hook?

Are they hoping to get a "baby killer" to go against? Are they protesting the changes that way? If so, I don't think it's a smart way.

I also looked up some Youtube vids to see how some survivors playing soloq, and they're mad. Don't get me wrong, they're mad on their teammates, ruining the game, killing themselves on hooks and denying to play.

I looked up more, and I've seen more people just ragequitting in a 100% winnable match. The killer 100% will lose this match, and they still DC or K themselves on hooks...

Dear survivors, what is going on? What are you exactly want to achieve like this?

Honestly? It's all just a temper tantrum. Especially since some bully squads can't function due to the power rule becoming killers for once. Now they run on killer and use the best of the best and make sure to be toxic about it. At least, that's what I've come to notice.

TLDR: Survivor bullies turned into killer bullies
