    Why or why not?

Not in the slightest, does absolutely nothing but make camping easier in an admittedly interesting but completely unnecessary way

  • @ironblade said:

These M1 killers are pretty insignificant with dealing survivors. Is BHVR planning to buff these killers that I mentioned in the title?

Calling knight an m1 killer makes me wonder if the term even has meaning anymore

it would only hold hostage w/ overbrine, which is what should've been addressed. Just make it so they dont stack, then we can buff overcharge out of mediocrity but noooo, gotta gut em so the anniversary can make new meta perks.

cob was a problem on its own. overcharge only helped a bit or even made it worse bc of the initial regression speed

  • @SketchyUtah said:

Call of Brine? Now it only regresses the gen by 25%? What's even the point in running the perk? 4 Token of Pain Res? Is 4 uses of pop worth a perk slot? These weren't OP perks. I don't understand why they were nerfed.

COB maybeeee wasn't op per se but it was beyond problematic, allowing you to hold the game hostage for like an hour. Pain res is still pretty dang good, and consider that it's automatic unlike old pop

  • @Smoe said:

Also what would have made the patch overall better in your opinion?

Dead Hard nerf is basically fine in terms of strength but still not fine in terms of fairness, I would've preferred it put you into the dying state after using it unsuccessfully so survivors couldn't keep a chase going after a killer baited it out (like they could and still can)

COH nerf is okay, I still would've preferred they go in the direction of making shattered hope basekit and buffing other boons, and maybe then you coulda kept the self healing part of COH idrk tho

Medkit nerf is also probably fine in terms of balance but it's just really boring. There's basically no difference between medkit rarities now and the addon changes were honestly super lazy. Would've done literally anything else with them that would just be interesting

Great skill check bonus on heals going from 5% to 3% is the weirdest crap ever, I know it's small but it bothers me anyways

Solos should have better counterplay to hit and run

This is the issue. Most players on here are so tribal for one side or other. I play both rolls and try to be objective. I suggest things that I feel would be truly balanced for both roles.

I often wonder how many DH hating killer mains have actually tried to use dead hard in game as a survivor. I always see the "guaranteed 3rd health state" line thrown around a lot and DH is not that, not by a long shot.

2nd paragraph is straight fax. Only against knight or nemesis can it be truly said to be free. Honestly feelin like the word "free" should just be banned from dbd community

  • @Xernoton said:

The only complaints about SB I've seen so far were from survivor mains. Funny how that works.

Well then provide arguments for it.I'll tell you why I dread DH more than any other exhaustion perk.

1.Its simply unfun. Not lunging and ending a chase when it should have isn't engaging gameplay nor does it fit in a fast paced game.On top of that getting deadharded feels terrible, well played you ran at a pallet and i couldn't do anything, great perk btw.

2.Its uncounterable vs good players. If you are an m1 killers pallets can turn dh in a lose lose situation, same goes for windows though where it becomes a 50/50(you either lunge to secure a hit if they vault,or you either don't thinking they might dh).If you use any killer power good luck, you are playing against 3 health states.Killer powers are simply to predictable and most killers have a brief window to down you using it.On top of that reacting to a lunge is easy, and predicting an m1 although killer sided losing said prediction feels terrible.

3.It kills your pressure. If you sprintburst at the start of a chase i can decide whether im going to commit to a chase or not,and im not risking it all chasing you.But when faced with dh you are litteraly geting hit by it the second the chase should have ended. This extends it more than you might have expected it and turns a chase you committed that seemed like an easy down into a loss of pressure.

4.You can't prevent it like other exhaustion perks.Lithe requires them vaulting a window. You can play around it by not letting them get the vault or by hitting them while doing it.Balanced landing works in a similar fashion.Overcome has the restriction of only working when healthy. Sprintburst isn't always up when you need it,as it might be on cooldown after running somewhere. If you 99% SB thats a display of skill and i commend you.

I don't need to provide arguments for merely finding sb/lithe more annoying than dh, for believing they're stronger than dh I would but idrk what my thoughts are on that anyway

  • @StravenMajere said:

Because patch 6.7.0 shouldn't be released. It seems like the first time when both survs and killers agreed that changes are bad. But killers suffer more from this patch.

I don't think anything in this statement is true lmao

  • @BooperDooper said:

Exhaustion perks are definitely not a problem, they serve to give survivors some distance when chased... to help the survivor... like any perk in the game... Any perk and every perk is to help out the side you're playing, whether to make up for your mistake or help to reach your objective. Exhaustion perks are here to stay, they aren't a problem, and never will be a problem. Dead hard itself was a problem when you could dead hard for distance which they then nerfed.

You also didn't mention at all how or why they are a problem. Probably because they aren't and you just don't like them for whatever reason.

If you don't like exhaustion, there are perks for that, addons on certain killers for that, or you can put up with the mechanic that has been in the game for years that I see no one else complain about since y'know... its not a problem.

Killers have their strong perks, and survivors have their strong perks, it be like that.

We always love the logic of "perks are supposed to help therefore this is fine" lmaoo

  • I see this as an absolute win

  • Should be the outcome of a match against a bad killer

  • @imakepeoplehateme said:

Its just a way of coping.Survivors are dropping like flies without their precious dead hard.Sprint burst allows you to be tactical in your chase selection,Lithe and balanced can be countered by attentive killers,dh is an extra 4 seconds at best,a 50/50 in most cases and an extra life state at worst.

I am getting real sick of hearing that my opinion is copium lol cuz it's literally just my opinion, as someone who plays both surv and killer

  • Talk ur talk peanits 🔥🗣️

  • @dollidahlia said:

As a killer main I welcome sprint burst and lithe into the meta. I can’t speak for all killers but these perks are better to go against than dead hard.

”you will just complain about sprint burst after the dead hard nerf” nope. I don’t mind it.

I've always found sb and lithe more annoying than dh a majority of the time. They're much freer distance than dh was by far

Yeah I could agree with that. I'd love for boons to be better (most hexes too honestly) but there should be a penalty or some sort of meaningful counter to boons other than snuffing it out which does feel pointless. I Luke the idea of boons though. They need some love

Yeah I'd like hexes to get some love too. Feels like they're so safe with some of them when they shouldn't be since..they're hexes. I also find it kind of weird that we have so many non traditional hexes that have kinda taken the spotlight from normal ones. Like hexes that protect others such as undying, retribution, haunted ground and thrill, and also just some weird ones like noed plaything and face the darkness. I'd like to see ordinary hexes like third seal crowd control huntress lullaby and whatnot be more preferable to those weird or protective ones compared to how much they are currently

  • @IWasLrft2Die said:

Granted this mostly applied to prior to the most recent patch with CoH changing, but should shattered hope be base kit? It has felt like a waste of time to snuff out a boon when the survivors will just put it right back after you walk away. Do you think shattered hope (essentially destroying the totem) should be base kit for killers or no? Should anything be done to limit the number of uses for a boon such as a token system?

    Genuinely curious what people think

EDIT: I did not tralize shattered hope had so much packed into it. I would like to have it so the killer could destroy totems but the other effects not be basekit

It's maybe not necessary now that there isn't really any op boons, but imo I think this on top of buffing boons (at least the 3 worst ones) would be the way to go. Even when it's something meh like shadow step or exponential, it's still just kinda annoying that snuffing boons feels somewhat worthless very often, since it can just be relit again. I think boons would just be more fun in general if they were like actually crazy strong but also more risky. Like if shadow step suppressed more than just scratch marks and auras or if exponential brought you back to healthy after recovering or if dark theory gave way more haste. I just think stuff like that would be really fun but also (maybe) balanced if SH was basekit

  • It will never not bother me when a killer gets a 1k when they really deserve a 0k

  • @ironblade said:

Regardless what your opinion is, exhaustion perks will and always will be a problem. It only becomes less of a problem if they get nerfed til survivors refuse to use those perks. Dead Hard is still used even after the nerfs thus they're not nerfing it hard enough. Killer regression perks are nerfed to obsolete so killers have to find replacement. Survivors? No, no, no, they get a slap to the wrist nerfs and call it a day. SWF are now abusing Boon: Circle of Healing instantly healing eachother to full health. Dead Hard is still prevalent since they are adapting to it. The perks hasn't changed at all for survivors... again, and they managed to make Circle of Healing stronger. Gg, wp.

I've always had a problem with exhaustion perks giving you free distance, so sb, lithe, overcome, and only sometimes dh and balanced landing. I don't know why free distance is so ok while "free" health states that aren't free are the end of the world. That being said, this post becomes very ignorant very quickly lmao.

"Dead Hard is still used ever therefore it wasn't nerfed hard enough" why does it need to be nerfed until it's not used ever? We don't need to further add to the already massive list of useless perks.

"Killers have to find replacements" Ok, not really the end of the world since corrupt deadlock and no way out were already fantastic and still are.

"Survivors get a slap on the wrist" What are you talking about? Dead Hard COH and medkits all getting significant nerfs is a "slap on the wrist?"

"SWF are now abusing COH instantly healing each other to full health" Cry about it? It's altruism, but I guess you'd prefer if survivors could only heal themselves. And yeah, anything is abuse as long as it's swf ig lol.

"Dead Hard is still prevalent since they are adapting to it" Maybe you should try adapting to it too, that is a massive skill issue honestly

"They managed to make COH stronger" Lmao, simply

Well, like I said before. Play more killer and you'll see that killers aren't given free kills and these are easily counterable (outside of bubba).

And like I said before, I have played killer and I can easily get 1ks for free without necessarily playing bubba

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

It gets praise because it is a necessary part of the game. It's not always feasible to just commit to every chase you see if committing to that chase is going to be too difficult and/or take too long. You may be able to injure someone quickly (especially as a stealth killer) but it may not be worth your time to follow up on that right away. Sometimes it's better to leave and go pressure other survivors, especially if the survivor you injured then runs to a safe part of the map where you probably won't be able to down them quickly. If you commit to that chase, other survivors are free to do generators and you'll quickly be in a losing position.

Part of why CoH and strong medkits were such a big problem was that they were too effective against this strategy and were too quick at undoing the killer's pressure if they attempted to split pressure between multiple survivors. With the original release-version of CoH, effective hit and run was nearly impossible even with Sloppy.

That makes sense but I'd prefer the devs encouraging chases as opposed to encouraging dropping chases, not to say that we're there now (or that we've even ever been there honestly) but a man can dream

You were saying it's impossible to get a save in those situations. I was sharing that I have personally been able to do it and have had people do it against me. You are speaking in absolutes where a survivor is just completely powerless to the big bad killer at egc.

Then I'll correct myself. It's impossible if the killer uses their brain

  • Love the duality with these two answers XD

  • @Canas said:

Survivors get to bodyblock during endgame to guarantee their 4 man escape, meanwhile the killer isn't allowed to secure at least one kill by bodyblocking survivors from getting to the hook? Now that's a double standard.

How is this serious lol. Bodyblocking to get a 4 out actually takes effort on top of getting all the gens done, meanwhile securing a kill like that takes zero. That's not a double standard, that's rewarding ppl who deserve it. Why should it be impossible for survivors to get a 4 out as a compensation for 1ks not being free? What an actual joke of a take

  • @DBDVulture said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/372001/is-body-blocking-a-fair-technique

It's an unpopular opinion but I don't think there should be any bodyblocking in DBD.

It's not fun when Survivors do it to the killer at the end of a game to deny pressure.

It's not fun when a Trapper blocks you and puts a trap at your feet or a LF revs a chainsaw while you cant move.

Remove body blocking and EVERYONE will have more "clean" fun.

How else are the survivors meant to get all 4 ppl out?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I just finished a game against a SWF that literally stayed together the whole match, even at the hook.

I ended up only killing 3 (due to Spirit's absurd hit box), but what else do you want a Killer to do in that situation?

Just wonder off to do nothing?

A lot of Survivors are extremely aggressive on unhooking. As long as they play that way, Killers are going to stay at the hook.

Hell, Man, I'm even running Devour Hope, and I can't get 24m away before they unhook.

Survivor play is the reason camping works.

Imo there's a bit more to it than this. With passive slowdown perks like deadlock corrupt or no way out it can be very unrealistic to just smash through the gens and for sure get a 3 out, particularly for solos. And remember that's a 1k, camping is a strategy that really deserves zero kills, but as bubba or some others it secures one anyways. It's also a strategy that's very obvious for new killers and stomps new survivors, who (theoretically) get matched bc of MMR. It's obviously a skill issue technically but I think that's a shame that new players have to be faced with such an uninteresting strategy, I would imagine that the devs don't want that either

  • @fulltonon said:

The fact is, survivor deserves to be hooked and sacrificed even in EGC, no matter what perks they brought.

Otherwise, we could simply remove EGC and let all survivors to instantly escape once gates are powered.

So a killer should be able to get a free kill as a reward for losing all the gens?

If you expect killers to be unable to get a single hook in the game you are just playing the wrong game. None of those situations you brought up are free hooks. Killers worked for the hook (which is why a survivor is there). There is still counterplay available as a survivor even in solo play. I've rescued countless survivors against those killers and perks. You are really overestimating killer in those situations. Play swf with coms with decent players and you won't have any of these issues.

Also, use hope or were gonna make it and that let's you save much more quickly

Congrats on using useless anecdotal evidence of bad killers not knowing how to take advantage of the nonsense that allows them to get a free kill. Playing in a swf with decent players won't allow you to get a 4 out against a camping bubba lol it's not even a conversation

Stbfl is fine and impacts the entire game. No one would argue it ruins end game

Bubba isn't an end game issue. Yes he camps but that's ever present. If you get sawed down you made an error, therefore you didn't play perfectly. You shouldn't try to go for the save and if you get sawed down doing it that's on you as a survivor.

Huntress same thing as Bubba. That's in you.

Trickster is weak and not an issue for end game. I'd rather face him than most other killers in end game.

Blight and nurse are just busted in general.

Spirit is is easy to read now.

Only nurse and blight I'd give you is busted. The rest is 100% on the survivor for dying or getting downed. The other killers you mentioned are not that strong. If you want a counter to those things use "Hope" and you'll be good to go if it's not a skill issue of course

STBFL makes endgame camping free bc of the very short cooldown, making catching up and dealing with body blocking absurdly easy

With bubba and huntress you completely ignore the issue, with the only counterplay being leaving the person to die because there's no actual counterplay to rescue them. They shouldn't be able to get 1ks for free.

Trickster again u ignore the issue, he is weak but he still can get a 1k for free, that is a stupid way of balancing a killer

Spirit can catch up easy and negate bodyblocking, her being easy to read has nothing to do with it.

Overall you're completely ignoring the issue while also referring to going down EVER as an "error," it is not, literally any killer can get a single hook. These killers can currently get 1ks for free just by camping the hook, that is ridiculous period.

  • @Sandt21 said:

You could make an argument for Trickster keeping his lullaby (not that I’d agree with that argument). But Sadako is, at her core, a stealth killer. The whole point is that you don’t hear her coming. Her having a visual lullaby gives every survivor a free spine chill at all times.

Devs, please consider removing Sadako’s lullaby. I really think this is a massive oversight.

After playing trickster for a little bit and getting a good understanding of him, the lullaby honestly doesn't fit him in the slightest. Hitting long range shots with him just isn't realistic at all, it should at the very least be the same size as his TR

  • @EmmaFrostyEyes said:

Im not advocating for it to be nerfed. Lithe has been my main exhaustion perk since 2021. Used it over sprint burst and old dead hard. Now its gonna be used more and i have already seen people complaining about the perk. So when are the gonna nerf it? Im gonna miss it being under the radar

It's a controversial take but IMO I think exhaustion perks as a whole (except really just sprint burst, lithe, overcome, and maaaybe balanced landing) need to be nerfed or changed. They're basically free distance perks that are only balanced by not being able to stack them or use them more than once in chase, as well as the ability for the killer to just drop chase. They're just way too impactful imo and basically every best survivor build will always have one of them

It doesn't have to be that way. I've played several games as killer and not played that way at egc and won. It largely depends on who the killer is

90% of the time it is, at least once you know a gate is 99d there's just no reason to leave the hook

  • @IWasLrft2Die said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3403508#Comment_3403508

That's not true. If they die in the end it's because they were outplayed. Simple as that. Give me a scenario they can't possibly do anything in the end

Bubba, stbfl, oni, huntress, trickster, nurse, spirit, blight, basement, literally just hook trades. Bubba camping the hook is not "outplaying" just because of the result it yields, don't have so much confidence in a game like this rewarding skill lol

Why are survivors entitled to free escapes if they get gens done?

They're entitled to free escapes if they get the gens done and play the endgame right, but rn even if they play the endgame right there's still sometimes nothing they can do

  • I don't think it's unreasonable for me to wish endgame meta was replaced with something more interesting than just the killer sitting by the hook. It's the best decision but it's also just lazy if we're being honest

If there is nothing for the killer to do in the one stage of the game, then it's the game fault, not the players fault (in this case, Survivors would have upper advantage in the only and last objective for the killer to do and punishing them for trying to achive it).

I'm aware, I blame the game for making it so easy. It's also an advantage they should have, it shouldn't be guaranteed that the killer secures that objective lol

  • @IWasLrft2Die said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3402838#Comment_3402838

It's not a free kill. You have several teammates who can save you, body block for you, sabotage hooks for you, you could wiggle free, use dead hard or other exhaust perks. Killer has to account for each of these things when a survivor is unhooked. Survivors have plenty of protection in place by end game collapse (and this also doesn't account for several things they can have prior to it. Ds is not needing to return. The game is healthier with it not being a must have perk on every build

If the killer camps the hook and injures both survivors that go for the save then it's just one survivor who can body block for you, which often isn't enough. Not to mention bodyblocking isn't always going to be consistent since the killer is already faster than the survivors, especially if it's one of the faster killers or a ranged killer or a tping killer etc

  • @Dream_Whisper said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3402809#Comment_3402809

It more then that, the purpose of DS is to prevent and discouraged tunneling, especially in the beginning of the game. If you are bad survivor whom is poor at chase, or fail to relie on your teammates to do anything productive like gen repairs or taking the heat of the chase or protect you from hits; then this perk is your friend. If you are already successful in your objectives to fix the Generators, and opening the exit gates; the Survivors as a whole have already won. As far as I am concerned with fairness, I think it is perfect fair if the Killer doesn't have to deal with burden of DS being still present when they are crawling away to the exit gates within 60 seconds.

It not like DS prevent survivors from leaving and Entity blocks the gates for the killer. It simply makes it impossible for the killer to stop that one Survivor from getting away, especially when they have no chances to take down another survivor in their place. So, yeah... deal with it. I don't tunnel unless I am certain that opportunity presents themselves. And when there are no gens left, what else are killers is supposed to do by then?!?!

It not like Killer's cannot reset completed Generator by damage it. Or sabotaging the exit gate switch to delay the inevitable escape. DS being deactivate at EGC, is a perfect balance chance; although I do feel the stun time being reduced to 3 instead of 5 seconds is overkill and I would wished they revert that change.

What else are survivors supposed to do besides escape? Sorry but in reality it just doesn't make sense. The lack of DS can lead to a free kill so easily it isn't fair whatsoever. The answer to your question btw is lose the game, as in a 0k, because that should happen at a certain point to a killer that got outplayed

  • @Dream_Whisper said:

Because... one all 5 gens are done, the killer literally has no other objectives besides securing downs, or patrol near their already hooked survivors. That and Basekit BT has already give them extra means to escape. Allowing DS to work in Endgame, especially if they are down near the exit gates after being unhooked means the killer has no means to stop you from escaping.... it not like the killer can drag you away on the ground to avoid DS, it not like there are other downed survivor nearby or that they are completely healthy and there no chances of downing them and picking them up, in those situations.

It perfectly fair that DS only works any time but the Endgame. If you happen to be tunneling in the beginning and middle of the match, you get a Opportunity to used it then. If your teammates finish the last gen before you just got off the hook and get down, then you are out of luck.

It's always talk about the killer's objective...when the survivor's objective is to escape, but who cares I guess

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/372407/the-fact-that-decisive-strike-gets-deactivated-in-the-endgame-is-just-stupid

No, Decisive Strike during end game collapse guarantees escape. The stun and duration could use an increase. It should be a lot more impactful since you can only use it once and only if the killer tunnels you. As the killer, it should feel like you've made a huge mistake tunneling this survivor and a learning experience not to do that again. Right now, it's a two second stun, which depending on your killer ranges from being mildly inconvenient to basically doing nothing.

I sure hope you'd be okay with bubba's camping potential being nerfed

  • @meromero said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3402631#Comment_3402631

Tough. Also irrelevant and does not justify enabling DS in endgame. Does it suck? Yeah. Does it matter? No. DS exists to deincentivize killer from going after the same person over and over while there are other things left to do, aka protecting the generators. It is not and was never meant to be prevention or protection from tunneling altogether. This is also why the killer can still tunnel through DS pre-endgame. There is nothing else for the killer to do in endgame. Expecting protection in those circumstances is entitlement. You do not deserve protection just for being tunneled.

Ignoring my entire point about the killer getting a free trade, saying ds... Isn't meant to protect against tunneling? And calling me entitled when you want a free kill because there's "nothing else to do" even though sometimes you just don't deserve any kills because you got destroyed. You're telling me to get over it but I think you should, I'll be hitting the ignore button now since you don't want to be in reality

The killer does the only non-stupid course of action left, if no one body blocked for the unhooked survivor or took hits, then the killer downs them again, and if no one rescues them from the killer’s grasp or takes hits or sabotages the hook or something like that, the killer hooks them again. There is nothing undeserved here for either side.

If you take a hit while you're injured you go down and get hooked again...which is going to be the case if the killer just sits mindlessly at the hook and hits anyone going for the rescue, it's just not reasonable

They aren’t punished for getting all the gens done. Getting all the gens done has rewarded them with the ability to open the Exit Gates. They are punished for getting caught and downed and then hooked.

For the same reason that repairing all generators doesn’t instantly make all survivors escape, the killer downing a survivor 3 separate times doesn’t instantly kill them. You’re not done, you’re in the final stretch. You still have to open the Exit Gates and get out. You still have to actually hook them for 3 hook states worth (or slugs for 4 minutes). The killer can catch and kill you before you make it out, survivors can blind you/pallet rescue or pick up a slug. That “one” hook isn’t a kill by itself. They caught you and downed you and rehooked you for your remaining two hook states worth.

The thing is it's not even just bubba who can take advantage of this. Any killer that can catch up or negate bodyblocking makes the lack of ds/otr a big problem, unless we wanna go through and change all of those killers then ds/otr being active in endgame would just make sense. But balancing the game around the killer just going for the same person over and over again just bc it's endgame is just obnoxious, I am aware that going for other ppl in endgame isn't viable but you could say that about any other part of the game too, since tunneling in general is just better. And the reality is that it's not smart much at all, it's literally just sitting by the hook and hitting m1 when someone comes by and then waiting 10 seconds for the endurance to run out, it's mindless

And there’s the whataboutism. Bubba being able to completely deny unhooks is an entirely separate topic from Decisive Strike being usable in endgame.

The point is that it's still a single hook, it doesn't warrant an extra boost of any kind. The survivors shouldn't be punished for getting all the gens done

If doing all the gens warranted an escape, opening Exit Gates wouldn’t exist, Endgame Collapse wouldn’t exist and survivors would instantaneously escape the moment the last generator was repaired.

If the killer catches you for all 3 hook states’ worth or slugs you for the 4 minutes it takes to bleed out, yes, they deserve the kill.

Getting one hook as bubba and then camping doesn't warrant a kill in the slightest, just because it gets you the kill doesn't mean it should

The killer caught the survivor. That means they earned it. Not tunneling in endgame is an actively stupid decision. Going after someone else who is probably healthy, farther away, and/or has less hook states is stupid.

But doing all the gens doesn't warrant getting an escape? If you think getting literally one hook deserves a kill then, sorry but you're just incorrect

It protects a survivor that has no reason to be protected.

Yes they do lol, for the purpose of escaping. Meanwhile the lack of ds/otr in endgame gives killers a boost that they didn't earn whatsoever
