Adrenaline, Borrowed Time & Decisive Strike nerf when???

Can't wait for survivors having to play with a brain, rather than being rewarded for being bad but it doesn't matter because you're using 1 of these 3 perks

Your point? Adrenaline kicks in end game but it's totally useless when we get moried. Borrowed time won't help much because you could just chase the person unhooking, and Ds can't even do anything against a mori so 🤷‍♂️

In order to deal with the giant Ruin nerf, killers have had to change their playstyles in order to compensate for the new found ease of genrushing. I've tested out a few things like different perk builds, but what's proven to be most effective isn't perks, but slugging and especially tunneling. I never played using those tactics before because they just ruined the fun of the game for a number of players. However, nowadays it's become something of a necessity to stand a chance against people playing at their best.

Tunneling kind of reminds me of my stance on swf groups. When they use optimal tactics, it's just unfun and unfair to play against them. Now that I've started tunneling when the need arises, I can say the same about killers using this optimal tactic: unfun and unfair. Unfortunately, it's also become a necessity in a number of cases. The only way to stop the complete crush of a genrush is to get rid of a survivor asap.

I think most players hate both genrushing and tunneling, yet both have become so necessary for competitive gameplay that it's ruining the fun of the game. I honestly wish the devs would get their act together and seriously try to fix the core problems with the game nowadays instead of using perks, powers, and other bainaid fixes to try to counteract them. Hex: Ruin did need to be reworked, but it needed to be reworked simultaneously with genrush issues which in turn needs to be reworked simultaneously with tunnling issues cause genrushing and tunneling are just the different sides of the broken gameplay coin that destroys player fun.

For years, players have been asking for gameplay changes for massive amounts of intentional disconnects, tunneling, genrushing, camping, and ridiculously long chases; yet all we ever seem to get are minor bandaid fixes that do nothing to solve the primary problems that concern the community. The annoying part is these issues really wouldn't be that hard to solve if BHVR put a reasonable amount of resources into them. They just don't seem to care about what the majority of the playerbase cares about.

Um quick question. Why is the ruin nerf so big for people? The old ruin your totem gets broken pretty fast if someone is using a map or good at finding totems. I just don't see the difference.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Let's be honest, you're going to be toxic regardless of what the killer is doing based on your warped perception of what tunneling/camping is. You're as see through as they come

Not all survivors want to be toxic. I don't want to be toxic. I just wanna do my challenges and escape and help me team escape if it means sacrificing myself. But when a killer shakes their head at me and face camp and hit me on the hook you bet ima be toxic back because all that wasn't necessary.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124354/why-do-tunneling-camping-killers-expect-me-to-not-be-toxic

If he camped/tunneled you, how do you have time to teabag and click your flashlight? Wouldn't you be mostly spending your time on the floor or on a hook?

Not necessarily. You could tea bag at a pallet or on the other side of the window or exit gate if you made it

  • @Madhatter920 said:

"Bad gen pressure by killer" is not the reason for gen rushing. You chase people off one gen, they are just on the other. They will bounce between two until it is repaired. No killer can be at both generators at the same time, but four survivors can. Gen pressure is mostly irrelevant when it comes to gen rushing. The problem is a combination of chases lasting too long and generators repairing too quickly. Needs to be fewer pallets and longer repair times.

There already aren't a lot of pallets. I don't know what more do you want? Let survivors just spawn on the hook or remove all the pallets. Use perks like spirit fury and enduring

Tunneling isn’t a real thing either. It’s the killers objective to do just that, kill.

Not really. The killer objective is to kill everyone (not get one single person out the game because they are toxic) while applying pressure on the gens to stop them from popping.

  • Um I would have to say clown for me. If I go against a good clown we both always outplay each other throughout the match.

Except the devs said the change is to help survivors hit skill checks. So who really needs to git good?

Inexperienced survivors. Learn how to win without ruin

  • @SpacemanOnTheCouch said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/975869#Comment_975869

But that's just it, the Devs AREN'T trying to do what's best for everyone, they're trying to do what's best for the survivors experience and keep ignoring all the feedback from Killer mains about their frustrations when playing.

So we just gonna act like they didn't nerf ds, metal of man, borrowed time, and exhaustion? Is that not a thing anymore? In my opinion I don't think a killer needs to benefit off of ruin, and people talk about totem spawns like play on Hawkins or the game and try to find totems on there. It is so hard. What the devs are trying to do is help inexperienced survivors bot everybody can hit ruin skill checks.

  • @Divinitye9 said:

Because killers have been getting nerf after nerf after nerf after nerf.

What's completely pissing people off is the bias that the devs have shown on the survivor side. Everything was about their experience, NOT the killers. Except the emblem thing, but nobody honestly gives a damn about the emblem system.

Why are you so triggered by this? It's only just a game. The devs try to do what's best for everyone instead of hating try to see from everyone perspective and not think about yourself.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Quit your crying and adapt

What about the part where they basically said that Ruin is being nerfed literally because survivors complained about Ruin and apparently couldn't adapt to hitting skill checks?

    Your hypocrisy is showing.

You act like they didn't change ds for killers, self care for killers. Get over yourself

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

In my opinion all exhaustion perks are too tier (dead hard, balanced landing,Sprint burst, lithe, head on, etc) so do exhaustion itself need a little bit of change? Sure not necessarily the next thing they should balance but still.

From balance perspective pretty fair, when you use your exhaustion perk you can't use it anymore unless the exhaustion bar goes to zero. Pretty balanced since you can use your exhaustion perk once in a chase.

One idea of an exhaustion nerf for me and a nice quality of life buff for killers is that exhaustion cause survivors to breathe louder, since you know they are exhausted, or that they will get a minor speed penalty of 1/2% making their sprint OR if you prefer their walking speed 1/2% slower, but whenever a survivor crouches they restore exhaustion +10% faster (the breathing idea can be countered by iron will).

What do you guys think? Let me know down below

In my opinion I don't think they need to be changed anymore, because like you said they nerf exhaustion perks to where we only get it once a chase. But if they were to do something with then I wouldn't care because I don't use them

  • @Xerge said:

I don't know if I would say toxic, but bringing a mori and running noed is a bit too much in my opinion.

I also find annoying bringing two or more bnp. I don't understand why a player would want to make gens as fast as possible and escape. I don't think it's very fun, but if your idea of fun is rushing the gens and probably not being chased even once then good for you I guess.

Gen rushing doesn't help survivors one bit. I've played a game where the survivors gen rushed and everyone Depip

  • @NullSp3c said:

So a friend of mine that is a survivor main asked me to go to a custom game to try window tech.

Even tho it didnt work (because he was practising) many people can use this "juke" really well to make the killer lose all the advantage he had on you, even tho it is easily counterable.

    And this kept me thinking...

Isn't this a "juke" based on a flaw of the game? This is dependant on the fact that the killer becomes immaterial in the middle of the vault animation. It seems to me, abusing a flawed game mechanic and nothing more than that. Just to clarify: feel free to use it as it is a devs fault for making it like it is and not youra for using it, im not saying "screw people who use it".

I know it takes practice, but it shouldnt exist, like the poor FoV that killers have.

Another thing that bothers me is the hook tech.

Why the hell can a survivor put himself behind a hooked person and the killer not?

And why did they remove the "wall smacking" when smacking someone on the hook? Auto aim also sucks so it doesnt help on the matter.

EDIT: TLDR; Window tech shouldn't exist even tho it is easily counterable by hearing the survivor or huggign the wall. It's a game flaw. Hook tech shouldn't exist.

My question is: Do you think that window tech is a good game mechanic or is it based on a flaw of the killer's mechanics?

    Share your thoughts.

I personally don't think that it's a big deal. A survivor can vault a window of a maximum of 3 times in a chase, so hug the walls and keep chasing or do some type of mind game (depending on the killer). If a survivor uses a person on the hook as shield is a good thing for killers because your basically securing your kill and you can't say you camped when a survivor tried to unhook in your face.

Well if its a very rare you shouldnt waste them if your not good at the killer the same goes for clowns pinky finger if you cant land your bottle hits why waste a very rare addon?

That's very true and honestly I don't really bump into a lot of clowns but when I do like 1 out of 100 games a clown would run that add on. So do you think that add on could use a buff?

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/113550/buff-huntress

If you mean regenerating hatchets on hit then that was my idea.

If you mean over time then idk.

I don't really know about that. If a skillful huntress always hits her hits then that's pretty rewarding, but if someone new wants to play as huntress but suck and miss all their shots then what was the point of running the add on

  • @BruhMoment said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/903540#Comment_903540

Dude ironworks is so awful. That single window is so easy to get to yet so rewarding for a survivor. When you think about it, it's like the shack window. A long wall on one side and a slightly shorter wall on the other. The difference is, the walls around the iron works window are MASSIVE, wasting way more time for the killer to maneuver around. However, in the area on the other side of them there are usually one or two generators. This makes this prime looping material as survivors can just work on gens and loop the god window whenever you get close.

When I play survivor on that map I usually vault it once to gain distance to another pallet or try to lose the killer. If I'm the killer I usually get the person if they try going for a second loop but I can understand the frustration since to me it feels like some killers vault slower than others.

    Killer

Bodyblocking and speed perks. But I wouldn't call them toxic. It is just annoying for me.

    Survivor

Facecamping for no reason. If someone was toxic I understand it. If not, it is highly annoying for me.

I just wanna know when I'm being so innocent and just doing gens. Someone tell me why do I out of all people me the least toxic one on my team gets tunnelled and face camped against a leatherface.

  • @Galklife said:

i dont think anything IN GAME is toxic, toxic is only post game chat

but ofc there are things that are extremely unfun to play against

as surv i hate to be tunneled off the hook or camped

as killer when survivors abuse windows like ironworks, grim pantry window (so called infinite windows) with literally 0 mindgame potencial, and killer have to drop chase or hard press W and wait for bloodlust (btw DBD has over 3 years and ironworks window exist, just sayin) fix those windows and remove bloodlust xd

    Preach

    Survivor:

Overrated: Exhaustion perks. I don’t run any, and it’s made me a more careful player, which seems to wind up working in my favor. You don’t need them and they all reward failure, in one way or another, so they all become crutch perks.

Underrated: Plunderer’s Instinct. Gives really useful things almost every time, I’m surprised how seldom I see it.

    killer:

overrated: ruin. Removable and top survivors fight through it so well you’d think it was destroyed (I’ve had to check my perks before running it because gens are flying with it up)

Underrated: surge. Saves time from kicking a gen + an automatic ruin good skill check regression. Pairs well with surveillance too to help patrol patterns.

Please tell me why everytime I run pounders tier 3 btw and I get a brown med kit or a damn brown toolbox

  • To me I think decisive strike is overrated because you can easily slug someone or not tunnel or Bond because you can see when someone is coming to sandbag. I feel perks like beast of pray are underrated. I think perks like those need a buff.

  • @Mistikus said:

well i rather dh now it helps me more then bl

    edit: if dh works

I use dead hard a lot more now because of the nerf, but killers respect it. So I think I'm just gonna start running Lithe.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

I know what you may be thinking, "DS is already way too powerful." But listen. As DS stands, it is a perk used to escape the killer's grasp through succeeding a skill-check available if being tunneled or you get picked up within 40-60 seconds after being unhooked. This is great; this part of the perk is absolutely fine.

Then what's wrong you may ask? Well, what if the killer brings in a Mori and you have DS ready to go? Well...you're screwed.

I've had so many games where I go against a tunneling killer with an Ivory or Ebony yet my DS is activated.

What I think should be added is the ability to succeed a skill-check to prevent a Mori when the perk is active, successfully preventing the killer from Mori tunneling. The stun would be 10 seconds, giving you some actual distance and it would remove the killer's ability to mori you at all because he's a tunneling bastard and doesn't deserve it.

I just think this would be a welcome addition to prevent killers from bringing in ivorys to tunnel down the survivor that gave them the hardest time and Mori them. It's complete bull and isn't fair at all to the skilled survivors.

I agree, I hate how killer can easily get a 4k with just a mori. I feel like red moris are op because they only have to hook everyone once and then its game over. I just feel like we need to get hooked twice when it comes down to and ebony mori

  • @douggie123 said:

This is getting absolutely ridiculous and beyond a joke. What do you actually want from killers to help with gens. Are we not allowed to have fun when playing you are all beyond a joke

    Nurse nerf

    Spirit nerf

Freddy nerf (which by the way happened and turned Freddy trash until just recently with his rework)

Why can't you all just get good at the game and stop ask for killers to be nerfed. Sadly killers aren't the power role as it is and you lot are asking for further nerfs. Get real and get good.

Lol thats it very funny but last time I checked killer are the ones who got ds nerfed by crying and complaining and other perks to and also you just want nurse and spirit to stay the same so you can het easy 4k because I know for a damn fact you can't get mo 4k at rank 1 with a killer like ######### leatherface.

Well you're entitled to your own opinion

  • @StupidButTru said:

Insta heals got nerfed because of whiny killers but the Nurse update is bad huh? How about this READ THE ADDONS THEY ARE RIDICULOUS WITH CERTAIN BUILDS. Those complaining about Nurses being "nerfed" are usually the trash players and Nurse mains are dancing in Joy because they got some serious add-ons now that they can use to destroy a four man team. Yet Insta heals got nerfed and not a single thread on that huh? In that case get rid of Noed get rid of insta downs, get rid of anything that insta downs a survivors since we can't have our medkits. If that's the case that's more of this fanbase gone already. Pathetic.

I honestly agree with you so much but are insta heals actaully getting nerfed? Cause if so then thats just stupid whats the point? You can only use it one time its not like there was a big deal with them.

I had an entire SWF squad use MoM and DS and DH and I could not do anything...oh and instant heals. All those perks were incredibly broken and now are way more balanced. It used to be 100% unfair for killer. You are the type of person that probably complains about Versing Spirits and Nurses at rank 1 😂

Lmao okay that isn't out problem that they are in the game for a reason. Metal of man was a bit op I understand that but why would they nerf it witnhin a week on its release. Don't give us actaul good perks then nerf it like that. I don't care that much about spirit there are obviously ways to counter her and I don't face a lot of nurses so can't so that I do complain about them

  • @AliXnm said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746602#Comment_746602

No, nurse isn’t added to the list because she’s now broken with her new add ons. She’s not nerfed. Stop talking about the killers and address the survivor situation with how much you’re nerfing them. I will literally make a compilation and post it on YouTube and send you the link OF ALL THE TOXIC THINGS YOU ALLOW THESE KILLERS TO DO and not do anything about it.

Its like they’re your babies and when they complain you stick a pacifier in their mouth. Cradle them. And fix the problem. But as soon as a survivor complain we get out posts taken down and get nerfed...WHY?

I literally can't even agree with you anymore. Finally someone that gets "us survivors"

  • I only brought it up because I know some of you killer mains are gonna to bring it up anyways so I was like why not, so lets not jump the boat.
