NOT using Hex : Ruin in main build. (+5)
LOL! Enjoy your gen rushes then!
Unless you have the ability to apply map wide pressure effectively they are gonna pop 1 or more gens during a single chase without ruin.
For killers like Freddy and a few others Hex: Ruin is a REQUIREMENT not an optional perk if you want to have a remote chance of hooking a single survivor before 2 or more gens are done!
If you say so lol. Altough many good Killer who main thoses killer would disagree with you.

@SnakeSound222 Thanks I appreciate it ;)
As for your questions ;
The hard part of playing Killer is applying all theses at the same time, doing so shows complete mastery over the Killer role. Little by little you grow and eventually you manage to do more things, unconsciously, and you become a better killer. If you though of them and managed to apply them successfully, then you can count them yes.
1- Yes but not entirely. The real deal about Bloodlust transfer is to follow a survivor until Bloodlust builds up (I or II) and then either switch to a different target to keep bloodlust going longer or manage to catch up to a survivor that is hard to hit once, for a free hit. Being looped and having another survivor around doing whatever they do is a good way to do this tactic, once bloodlust builds up you switch targets to him. Or in the event you find someone out in the blue too. It's about using the weaker chains of the survivors to reach the stronger chains.
2- This is a difficult question to answer, how to devellop an innate Whispers, but just know that you need to have a lot of pre-requisites in order to develop this. It goes hand-in-hand with having a mental map of where survivors might be and also map knowledge. I'll give you some tips on how to practice it, but also know that it is one the last skills, if not the last, that you'll fully develop as a killer, hence why it's worth a lot of points.
Tips at game start : Know the survivor's spawn patterns first, also if you spawn on top of a hill or you have a clear view of a part of the map, look in the far-away to see if you see any survivor DURING the animation camera at start and also look for any movement (crows flying, random spots moving, most likely survivor's hair, grass moving). If that doesnt work, patrol gens, intentionnaly regressing them just to see if there's someone nerby when you come back in 20sec max (7-gen patrol), backtrack your patrol route and once you found where they are, make them come out. Tip : Use normal Whispers and ditch it to see if you can apply the same. This ends the visual clues for the game start, with just that you will find the first survivor in a matter of seconds when the game starts no matter what the survivors do. Tip 2: Survivors quite often spawn together, when you find one, he's most likely not alone, unless you spawned in the pure center of the map. One thing Whispers does that does not help you is, when a game starts, you can find someone in a dead end where there is no gen nor totem, and it might be an error to go investigate, it's better if you go look for people at gens instead. Your innate Whispers will instinctively go for the better choice if you train it.
Tips at middle game : This is when your innate Whispers truly shines and you see the potential once you start to acquire a mental map of the survivor's actions. Always look, if you can at the direction the unhooker came from, it might hint at a gen being done that way, if you cannot look, calculate the time it took for them to rescue the hooked person and imagine a survivor running straight to it, you get a distance. That distance might be what separated his gen to the hook, so you can guess what gen he was working on. Identifying player patterns like how they play and their skill level, identifying SWFs, watching out for subtle sounds and having a solid map knowledge are all things that, when you know which gens are being done, then you know where they are the most likely to be, and where they are most likely NOT to be too. This is where the pattern of your innate Whispers overshadows normal Whispers, since you're probably going to be into the middle of survivors, normal Whispers would just light up. TIP : You can force survivors to go at certain places depending on your actions or inactions during the trial, hovering with your terror radius around the same places will generally make the survivors go for the gens outside of it. After some time, you can go check thoses gens see if they have been touched since your goal was to attract them over that gen, why? Maybe it was a part of the map that you chased someone and almost all pallets were broken, so easy downs if they gather there,
Tips for the last survivor : This is all about the info you gathered on the last survivor during the game and evaluating what they could go for for an escape + a lot of guessing, normal Whispers is better only at this stage than your innate Whispers will ever be. Tip 1: If the last generator is almost done, DO NOT regress it, and DO NOT hover your terror radius around it, let the survivor light it up to give away his position, try to look for the hatch while having a look at the gen from far away, Tip 2: If you know the general location of the last survivor and you can get there in 10 seconds tops, apply normal Whispers triangulation strategy by imagining where the survivor might be. Tip 3: You can fake you found the hatch and camp it in a place just to make the survivor show up.
All in all it comes down to a lot of pre-requisites and goes hand-in-hand with having a mental map of their actions. I dont know if I answered properly your questions, but you'll know when you start to develop a habit of finding them after guessing what their best OR fastest places to hide might be and going there. Last Tip is to not naviguate around the map like if you chase someone while you are looking for people. I may have forgotten something but well, It can have a thread of it's own to be honest lol. Dont know if I answered your question, but hopefully I clarified it even by a little. Ask away anyways.
3- Mastering the Killer's lunge is all about hitting the survivor with the tip of your weapon and also using it for theses 5 uses : Hitting a survivor during a loop using the speed boost to loop faster, Crossing gaps in the map (Badham Preschool basement hole/Red Forest balcony/Coal Tower when you drop from upstairs and there's machinery at the bottom you can drop onto to cut the loop by about 2-3 seconds), reaching a place to bodyblock a survivor when you know you would not have hit him (very rare), passing by bodyblocking survivors if you're trying to reach someone else and finally the lunge mindgame at the pallet when the survivor cannot see you and you come out in his vision already at the end of the lunge.
Short basic attack excells at making pallets drops, interupting animations and are impossible to react to since they are almost instant. If you long-lunge at a survivor waiting at a pallet in the open, he will have time to react and probably back up to bait the lunge, but if you walk closer to him and basic hit, he will obligated to drop the pallet and you might get a hit. Also watch out for when there's a locker nearby, you can grab them instead.

Right now I'm at lower ranks because I have no good perks/add-ons, I'm also trying out new killers like Nurse or Spirit and I'm not as much of a try-hard as I was 😂
I play more casually now but if I wanted I could get to red ranks, but who cares? And rank reset is around the corner. And I've been playing a lot more survivor over killer in the past month.
After all these excuses, I'm rank 8/7 right now. My main is Wraith
Oh woops sorry I didnt mean your in-game rank my bad 😂 Was talking about killer's level rank since you said you got Living Catastrophe it was nice to share and know. + Dont worry just you saying that once you reached r1 you play for fun is a pretty good proof that you indeed reached r1. Many r1 killers do that.

Well to be honest I dont know where Nurse should be on this list given any point was made without having her interfering lol. She would have a separate list entirely on her own, and I dont think I'm qualified enough as a Nurse to make that list myself. I dont really play her that much.

I will also need a timer to understand how long it takes for me to patrol all 7 gens, I have no idea how long I take
Just count in yout head, take in mind you do not need to actually see the gen in question depending on the map nor do you need to be close to it to know if it has been worked on or is being worked on.

I skipped that part because it varies depending on map, me, what killer am I? Etc.
Also no it does not depends on map. You can play a only 110% killer speed and do a full gen rotation in 20seconds on Shelter Woods or other maps like that.

Also note it's not the absolute best way to gauge your Killer's skill level but I just wanted to do it 😅 + You can complete points from any category. You can meet the requirement for an advanced one but not a intermediate one.
All of theses are taken from personal experience and guides around the web.

I'm waiting on chapter XI to come out to really get a hint on how can the Entity reach far back in time, which will give a more solid structure on the time bubbles.
As for your question player rank is not canon to the lore, it's just a way to separate players depending on playtime/skill level, so it's a gameplay mechanic only. As for how the same Jake can be in multiples trials at once, well that again is gameplay mechanic, since you can't really be at 2 places at the same time.
Maybe if the Entity took 2 Jakes from 2 different timelines/worlds, but then it would not be the same Jake so it would be possible, and we're talking about the same Jake :ohnoes:

I didn't read all of the posts, so forgive me if this was already said:If the Entity didn't want you to escape, why would it put the gens and exit gates there at all? Why would it block the killer from pursuing and sacrificing survivors outside of the gates? The survivors only escape back to the campfire to await the next trial, where we can see the killers and Entity watching them. No. The Entity MUST want the survivors to escape. Possibly cultivating and nurturing the hope of the survivors so that it may "devour" that hope when they are finally sacrificed. It seems to me that the Entity wants survivors to feel strong hope and confidence in their ability to escape and then crush that hope. Perhaps that is how the Entity subsists.
This is also potentially a lore explanation for rank as well. As your hope and confidence increase, you are facing ever more overwhelming odds until you eventually are defeated time and time again, which reduces your rank so that you may become hopeful again. Perhaps the crushed hope of killers at high rank is also satisfying to the Entity. Perhaps killers are just as much of victims as the survivors, only malevolent.
Yes they may escape the trial, but they did not escaped the Entity's realm, so they are still prisoners. It's just a circular way to build and consume hope.

For OP. I very much like this theory. It seems quite plausible. Of course, the devs tend to make the Lore up as they go along so I don't think they themselves have thought of that yet. It's a common practice to re-use assets like particle effects in the early days of a Game's life when it's not clear yet how successful it'll become and it would be worth spending time creating new effects or not.At any rate, I'll ask the devs what they think of your theory, since I'd like to incorporate it on the Wiki.

Ok fine you convinced me :^)
Let's start with a normal one then. One day in autumn, me and my friend were playing in a public park, we were both around 11-12. There were a LOT of leaves and since it did not rain in a while, the dead leaves were quite easy to pick up, we could fill our hats in a single handfull of leaves just to tell you how many they were. Then my friend picked up a pack of leaves and found a lighter underneath. We had a brilliant idea of course.
We made a huge mountain of leaves, and I mean a HUGE one, enough so that two 11 y-o kids could hide inside without anyone noticing from the outside. The pile of leaves reached high enough that we both tried to jump over it without touching any leaves and we always failed. Anyways then we made sure no one was around and we lit it up xD.
We danced around it like indians while making weird moves and the fire grew quick enough that I could not see my friend at the other side of the fire since the flames reached high and were thick enough to hide the view. Then after 30seconds we heard a car brake across the street and the lady inside it was honking at us furiously. We looked at her confused then she picked up her cellphone.
That's when we knew ######### would get real and just kicked the fire since we tough the police would arrive in like 2min and after putting the fire out we just ran straight to our houses LOL The lady in the car was trying to follow us but we crossed over other people's property and she lost us after some time.
The day after we just chilled at another friend's house.

Strange, I know I mostly got this game for the Lore and horror gameplay and I swear I remember reading this particular thing in either the old manual or the wiki. Never heard about the steam thread until two months ago.
Also I should add that the lore from the manual has been changed, not much but still. I know they added more detail about Benedict's whereabouts before entering the Entity's realm. For example now you can sort of speculate what his job is. Maybe it was written there and they removed it ? I don't know just guessing at this point.

Kate's story don't give much answers, since we still don't know how transfer actually happening from the 2-d observer perspective. Its still vague enough.
-> True, I'll give you the fact that we dont know about the 2-d observer perspective. But Kate's story does gives a little hint about the Entity being physically present. Main thing is the rock that she tried to hit the Entity's spider legs with. Yes you can say that after that she entered the nightmare in her head once she reached the fog, but I doubt that she was already in it if she was trying to hit the Entity with something first, since inside the Entity's realm, the Entity does not allow survivors to fight back lore-wise. (gameplay wise yea like decisive strike but whatever.) But I'll agree it's still vague enough until we have more proof of the Entity being physically present (or not) in the real world.
I never mentioned that ALL survivors dead. Its possible that they are still alive. They just somehow mind-controlled. Their bodies most likely just lying somewhere unconcious. And also, Iam gonna talk about Laurie at 5-th question.
-> Nice I just wanted to make sure not all survivors were dead before entering the realm, kind of a trap question :^) lol.
First, we don't have clean example for this. It was said, that survivor becomes killer after losing all hope, yes. But we never encountered this in game or lore.
Second, it actually doesn't matter, since its mind getting transformed, not body.-> It's more of taking a possibility into account more than anything else, but that's true that we never had direct proof of a survivor becoming a killer. We have some hints, but nothing solid yet. (+ I'll believe that fact only when we get to see it). As for the second part of your answer, about the killers, if it doesn't matter then why would some unwilling killers do the Entity's bidding if it was just the mind being controlled? Wouldnt they feel pain if they get tortured enough to follow the Entity's orders ? You hinted earlier that Survivors could survive chainsaw hits, but what about the killers that did not want to do the Entity's bidding in the first place? Devs said that some Killers got tortured before following the Entity. So they must have felt a physical pain. Especially referenced by this quote;
55- WHICH KILLERS ENJOY SERVING THE ENTITY?
"I would say that the ones who enjoyed doing it in real life still enjoy it. So Freddy, for example. Others you can see in their bio, or attempt to have a good idea. You can also look on their body: if they seem to have a lot of torture or physical pain that was done to them, it's probably because The Entity had to force it on them."
I know you said survivors only being affected by this, but I'd like to know where you put killers into this theory since they play an important role too.
He didn't have opportynity to search in MacMillan Estate, since he got transfered when he entered there. Yes, he found out that people are missing when they going in there, but that's all.
-> Yea it's true he might not have had enough time to search before being taken. I'll give you that.
It doesn't mean that time in both worlds pass at the same speed tho. Infact, devs said that time works very strange in Entity's realm. (...) So, she just lied unconcious for some time and then woke up, without remembering anything.
-> That's the only point were I'll have to disagree here. Time does pass in the Entity's realm no matter the way time passes. It passes in an enough significant way for our world to gather Benedict to make an investigation about the disappearances surrounding MacMillan estate and the people around it remembering the tragedy of Archie MacMillan and Evan (Trapper). Considering Evan entered the Entity's realm only after the tragedy since that is how the Entity works. He could not have killed 200+ people in one night, and also, his father was found in the basement, so some people managed to enter MacMillan Estate and report back at least 1 body. What I'm getting at is that even if time passes differently by, example, 30 seconds in our world = 10 years in the Entity's realm, it doesnt matter simply because enough time had passed for Bill to die in the L4D world. Not only there but in Saw world too (Amanda would have died in the seconds following her throat being shot). And that is due to the fact that an investigation was taken at MacMillan Estate. So unless L4D's universe's timeline does not follow our normal timeline (or something special is about Bill) then this is the only point where I'll have to disagree since for the Entity to work the mind, the body must still be alive if there was indeed no body transfer, otherwise it ceases all function.
Its just a theory, anyway. Devs don't give much details and we don't actually know the state of job being done about lore. Is it pretty good enough?
It's nice indeed since I see where you're coming from about there being a mind thing (Key Mind channel + other things you said), but there's some things that need clarification before digging into details and if I can help making your theory more solid by asking the right questions then it just benefits every Lore fan like me and others (Cause I do read every Lore thread lol :^)
-
Nice read.
The timeline effect is a very complicated factor in the Entity's world and is even more difficult to explain, for the only reason that it combines more than just one timeline. It's a Nexus, like the Devs explained, and they choose THE most complicated thing to base the lore upon by making the Nexus's tendrils interact with each other...(Damn you devs! jk I love you all) I initially planned to do a thread about it but I'll come back to this one instead for reference.
Multiverses combined with multiple realms and pocket dimensions is something that needs clarification and that is also visually present in the game.
Altough you missed some in-game things to further support your theory, there's plenty here for it to stand. Thanks for writing all this It sure makes looking for things easier when you can come back to 1 place.
P.S : Vigo making the hatch is debatable :^)
-
Hey there. @Rattman
(I'll have to see L4D whole story to really see the big picture of the theory -and Bill's fate- but I'll comment some things anyways)
It's plausible. You got some interesting things going on here about time passing, licensed characters and the fact about the key mind's channel ability.
But before going into minor specifications, there are problematic questions that arise if we take into account your two major points; that they are trapped inside the Entity's realm while ;
1) Their body still exists and
2) it all happen in their headsSo you'll have to ask yourself theses main questions if you want to make it more believable ;
1- What do you make of Kate's story and how she was being physically dragged into the Entity's realm ?
2- The version of Laurie we have is the version of the first or second movie, the outfit only matches her during thoses times. Also she never dies or comes close to dying in thoses two movies. So how did she got trapped in there ?
3- If the survivors become killers after losing all their hope, what happens to their physical bodies ? Since it has been said that the Entity transforms the killer's appearance during the transition to it's realm. (exception for DLC killers since license holders representation)
4- What do you make of Benedict Baker's investigation before entering the Entity's realm ? He searched a long time for bodies and clues and nothing was found, espceially in the MacMillan Estate.
5- According to my 4th question, if Benedict had time to make an investigation about the disappearances surrounding MacMillan Estate, then it means that time does pass almost normally in both wolrds. If that is the case, then would'nt Bill have had enough time to die before entering many trials, if any?
So that's about it.
Like I said, it's plausible, but those problematic questions appears and dont support the theory : c

This sounds very interesting, but I get a strange feeling this is more coincidence than anything else. The Entity is described as not only being otherwordly, but so unfamiliar with our dimension that in its realms it fabricates many aspects of trials and landscapes to compensate for that which it does not comprehend about our reality. I think this is evidence to show the Entity speaks a language that doesn't exist among us humans.Well thing is, the language the Entity speaks exists between human. In fact Mathieu Coté the game director said that he heard it being spoken aloud before and also said that it was decypherable (So a phonic language hint maybe). My guess could be a coincidence, but the long phrase strangely fits into everything else. That + a good way to prove it would be more decypherable language. I'm quite eager to see new phrases to see if they can be translated the same way as theses ones.

Update 2
Whispers sound effect is impossible to retrieve directly since the file itself is just usable by thoses who have created it. So dont try to check for whispers unaltered sound, it is impossible. (I have the file but I'm no Dev and I didnt work on the game so I have no means to open it, and it's probably better that way.)
Knowing that, I suppose in-game sound whispers would be judged enough by the Devs if we were to find something else about the Entity's language.
Tl;DR : Whispers route has lead to a dead-end as of now so the only way to confirm this language (that we know of) would be for them to add more decypherable language. Unless they decide to add something else entirely about the language like signs/icons/drawings or something.

The more I think about it, the more I come to conclusion, that generators, Exit Gates (and, maybe hatch) were created by Entity. Entity probably just watches how desperately survivors trying to escape and laughs, since there is no escape beyond Exit Gates and hatch. Like, who cares, how weak Entity is, while all generators are powered up, if there is no known way for tru3 escape anyway? False hope - thing that Entity enjoy.The hatch has been confirmed that it was not made by the Entity. Devs also hinted at other things around the trial (specifically generators) that in the Entity's realm, did not make much sense. While I can understand the fact that they are present (gives hope to survivors) I still do not understand why they are allowed to stay there by the Entity. Either they are immune to the Entity's influence or the Entity accepts them since it feeds survivors hope. The answer as to why the Hatch (just to say this one only) is present is quite a crucial one but sadly no answers yet.

@Rattman said:
@TheBretzel, if Entity didn't create the generators to allow survivors escape, why does it block Exit Gates for killers, instead of giving them chance to catch survivors when they are about to escape?
Maybe, something important lies beyond Exit Gates, and killers are not allowed to get there? Maybe, Entity looses control on killers beyond Gates? But, this doesn't explain why survivors allowed to escape, while killers aren't.
Well, anyway, what do you think about it?Hey there sry for late response ^^
As for your question I believe that the Entity needs survivor's hope to feed on it. So letting them return to the campfire and keeping the killer in the trial for some time before letting him go after them again is part of the process of giving hope to survivors. A little moment of rest to gather their toughts together and everything else that comes up in their minds.
The main aspect of your question is that the Entity let them go, but remember that the campfire is still part of the Entity's realm. Just like the trial, it is part of the Entity's realm. In that sense, they never escaped the realm itself so the Entity doesn't care much, they just escaped the trial, to enter another one yet again.
So yea, pretty much 1- letting hope build up and 2- They still are prisonners of the Entity's realm even if they go back to the campfire, it's part of the process of building hope.
-
@Gigaguy777 said:
Something worth mentioning is that the idea that the generators were put here to weaken the Entity to allow survivors to escape doesn't make sense, as it's been stated that everything in the trials is an approximation created by the Entity, and quirks in how they function compared to the real world are due to the Entity not fully understanding the context or use of it. To directly quote, "Unable though to really understand the true nature of the world it touches, it tries to replicate it as best it can, although it never quite gets it right."We can visibly see that these generators are not connected to anything, and thus could never actually power something, and it's also stated that the survivors must feel some kind of hope for an escape, which is why the ability to escape is even present in the first place in the form of the escape gates and hatch. That hope is what feeds the Entity after a survivor is sacrificed, so essentially whether you win or lose as a survivor or killer, you're playing into the Entity's hand. It is kinda neat to see he has such a potentially basic weakness though, so long as he's in the spirit realm.
True i forgot about that thing in particular (the replica rule), but it is also said that there are things in the trial that the Entity did not created, like the Hatch. Yet it is still standing there, maybe because either the Entity allows it, or it is immune to the Entity's power of removal in a way unknown to us.
What I'm getting at is that the Hatch was not originally there, so a modification that did not originated from the Entity occured at some point. I think a possibility is that (and that's just speculation hence why I did not put it in the main post) the generators did not emit light at the beginning, and once someone realised it, they managed to build lights attached to them.
It is said that there's tools that were created by some survivors to help them escape the trial and also Vigo in particular learned how to alter the nightmare construct (referenced by in-game quotes). What did he changed now? The answer from that question is purely speculations. But something's sure, is that thoses modifications are still present.
Also yes you're right in that important point ; The Entity itself is mainly weak while inside the Spirit World, but it's influence is weak to light even while half-inside it (killer powers). Which leads me to think that maybe a bigger amount of light could weaken the physical form of the Entity since it would make sense for the Entity itself to be more resistant to it, but no amount of light of that magnitude is in the game yet so we dont know for sure.
-

Interesting theory especially the parts about the spirit world, but I don't agree much on point 4/5. Yes, gens emit light when fully repaired, but even when they are all running the Entity's power is not weaker, otherwise Bloodwarden and most endgame perks would hardly work.
I honestly doubt the Entity would use its own weakness in the world it has created: a survivor would just need to knock over a fire barrel in Shelterwoods or the Rotten Fields to start a fire whose light could weaken a lot the Entity, maybe even allowing survivors to escape.I agree there's something going on with perks like Bloodwarden and Bamboozle, but I think it can be explained as the Entity itself being physically there, thus needing a bigger amount of light to even be affected. Rattman asked the same thing so if you want you can go read my response to him to know my point of view on it.
Also as for putting the map on fire, something unexpected will happen indeed, but I dont think you could do it willingly as a survivor. Since this is a nightmare, there are things you just cannot do, like fighting the killers back or even talking.
On a side note I know the Asylum was on fire during a certain point, so maybe it was tried before and it failed, or maybe it has nothing to do with this and it is just either a concidence or unrelated. But still just wanted to say that.

I knew it! i had a feeling it had to be light in some way. The only question is. Can we kill it?Well maybe if you bring an insane amount of light to burn you even in the shadows, but I don't like to go with exageration since exagerating always wins. I think we need more clues on how to Entity sustains itself first, and if it is able to grow, it also means it is able to regress too. If we know exactly how it feeds, we just have to cut it's food for it to die (IF, it is that simple and the Entity does'nt have another trick up it's sleeve).
Light is what is needed to make it go away, but I don't suppose it could kill it in itself. In combination with other things, I'm pretty sure it could, since everything that lives can die, but what are the other things? Well, only time will tell...

If Entity is vulnerable to light, why you can`t destroy block on window (either from 3-d jump or bamboozled) or block on Exit Gates from Blood Warden with flashlight?Good question, since I asked myself the same thing. I believe it can be explained only by two things, and one of them isn't a part of the lore.
1 - Lore reason is that the Entity itself is present physically. And it's own physical body is much more resistant overall. One thing we know is that if Kate tried slamming a big rock at it's claws and it just bounced off like nothing, then the physical resistance of the Entity is strong. How strong? We don't know yet. Maybe you need a lesser amount of light to harm it in the spirit world, whereas outside of it, you would need an immense amount of it to make it go away. This is mostly speculation, but all you can gather is that if you attack the Entity itself outside the Spirit World, it takes more than just a flashlight to harm. Bamboozle/Bloodwarden/Windows Blocks are all manifestations of the Entity outside the Spirit World. So it would make sense for them to require a stronger light to be weakened, stronger than a single flashlight for sure.
2 - For balance reasons. The Windows blocks and the bloodlust mechanic were not in the game when infinites were presents. When they added both, they made it more balanced. If you would be able to break the window blocks, it would just rewind the game to a patch where infinites would be reborn again. Also it would be a little broken if you would flashlight the Entity on the second phase of the Hook and poof it disapeared. As for Bloodwarden it's a perk, and as for Bamboozled, same reason. There are some things you have to give up in the Lore in order to have a balance in the game, which is also why you can have 4 Claudettes in the same lobby. Lore-wise it would not be possible (and devs admitted to this specific point), but for the sake of the game, it is.
I like to think it's a little bit of both, if not both reasons, but until we have more information on how strong is the Entity itself, this is the best I can give you.

If any of you think I need more to backup this I can easily provide, I just did not wanted to overload the post. But any remaining questions about this can be found on the Wiki. Or you can ask me here, your choice.

The more i learn about this mysterious lovecraftian being, that seems to have no weakness. The more i want to investigate more about it.Oh there IS a weakness to the Entity, I can confirm you that 100%.
Tell me. I must know. I must know how to stop this thing, before it consumes the entire world.
I'll make a post about it later this week :^)
But if you want a hint about it's weakness, it's already in the game and you have access to it.
Already in the game and we have access to it. the only thing that could do any harm to it would have to be a flashlight or something. I think it has some kind of weakness to light. Because in the killer tutorial it says to The Trapper to "Not let the light in" Is light the only thing that can possibly weaken or even kill it?
I don't want to spoil the surprise for you yet :^) but all I can say is that it goes much deeper than that. Don't worry I'll probably post it tomorrow. Also saying the Entity has a weakness is a major claim, so it needs proof, I actually have it, I just need to word it right to not be boring to read since it will be a medium-long read with things a little more complex than what we're used to discuss around the lore.
-
Yea it's hard to get a hint at what they say. Hence why I put it here. If anyone hears something distinct just put it in the comments and I will update the post for each word/series of word found. We could solve this honestly.
If we can make out the whole 4 variations I think we might get a big clue on something.

This is the overly underlooked gear-sphere in question

This icon appears only when you reach r1 as a survivor and get max pips. Coincidence ? I think not. Mainly because if you manage to reach r1 max pips as survivor you have high hopes of escaping the nightmare. (Lore-wise)
As for your title question ; I dont know, since there's too many speculations possible. Your theory about them containing the gear-sphere is new indeed. I've never seen it mentionned anywhere else, but it just adds to the other possible speculations.
One thing I noticed about them tough is that they're always hidden, like if someone left them there while attempting to hide or something.
But as of right now there's not much to go on into the golden toolboxes

At least not that I've found. -

One thing I find interesting about the Entity is how it communicates with its own language. I know that someone found a way to translate, but it still begs the question, how does the Entity know how to communicate, and how did it teach the killers to understand its language?I find this stuff so fascinating. I have a theory on how The Entity created it's language. I think it is just mimicking what it's learned from it's victims, both the killers and survivors. It may just speak to the killer's in their own language.
Also, could you direct me to where they found a way to translate it's language? I'd really appreciate it.Well that would be my thread right here ;
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/375/is-this-the-entitys-language-devs#latest
I'm still waiting on more language phrases to decipher and update the thread with it along with other secret the games has to offer.
As for the topic of this thread : I would not go as far as to say the Entity is a god. We only feel it is this way since we are in it's realm. But if we were outside of it, would we even know about it? And if so, would we worship it?
Think of it like you having raised an ant colony ; you are a god to them since you are in total control of what happens to them. But if it were an ant colony outside, like in your yard or somewhere else, you're just another passer-by that can influence or not what happens next, but don't have a total control over it since it's outside of your realm. Dunno if I was clear but what I mean is, The Entity cannot control you until you're in it's realm. But it CAN influence the real world to make you spawn inside it's realm and then have a total control over you.

Thoses are actually some pretty sick images. I feel they should be official and BHRV could use them to promote the game. I usually don't like too much screenshots but when you play with them and put them like that, it looks nice.
