I've recently bumped into quite a few streamers playing survivor while I've been playing killer and they've all been very polite people, I always try to not treat them any differently but sometimes I'll bring some BPS for em because why not. It's also always fun to watch the match back from the other perspective, I really wish DBD had a replay system so I could do that with any match and not just one a streamer happened to be in

Unfortunately killer streamers tend to not like me so much when I'm playing survivor usually because I'm a nuisance half the time, but I don't hold it against em. I wouldn't like me either

I'd honestly not let what streamers say get under your skin though, because most of them are playing with friends and they just vent their frustrations like anyone does while playing games as long as it's kept outta the endgame chat ofc. I get annoyed when I play both sides too so I can relate

DBD's just one of those games

Normally it doesn't bother be. But when I think I've had a good match, check the vod and they're insulting me all game kinda takes the wind out of you. It would be like that for a lot of people I'd imagine. That's one of the reasons I'd love a blacklist function. Weather it's a streamer or not there's people you know from the game that you just don't want to play with on either side. Slap that steam ID and never get matched with them again.

I wasn’t accusing you specifically but I just see a lot of people that assume every streamer is toxic when it isn’t true. It kind of is annoying even though I’m not a streamer myself but I play usually SWF with one and he’s one of the more chill people that I’ve met playing this game. Honestly wish I was as chill as him.

No I get it. I have a handful of friends that I SWF with and all of them either stream or used to stream. Like I said above I've met some really cool people that I've group with in the past that had TTV in their name. Without naming names I grouped with 1 a few months ago and he was a decent, well playing nice guy. I gave him a follow and a sub. My main point above is the fact that there are sooooo many streamers that go out of their way to potentially ruin yours and everyone else's experience. Granted a large majority of people who don't stream still do that. From my pov and depending on how long I've played when I see a TTV I go "Hey this'll be interesting" or more often than not "Oh god not another one". Usually from streamers throwing or just playing like they don't have a team all day.

I always try to act cute in front of them in game hoping they will notice me but they never do...

Senpai will notice you one day.

What do I think of streamers? I think they are just regular players playing DBD or whatever game they like to play and the stereotype people create on them is ridiculous. Just because they stream or have TTV in their name doesn’t make them toxic.

And I agree. I'm not saying all streamers are bad people. Just mainly the ones that I get paired with on either side. I just find that so often from my experience whenever I have someone with TTV in their name they just make it unfun for both sides. Hence why I was asking if anyone else had thoughts on them. It does kind of bother me though that they're free to say and do pretty much anything and their viewers like to encourage it. But that's just a personal gripe of mine and nothing major.

  • They need to be taken out until they actually fix game breaking bugs/glitches/hacks.

Played against a Wraith last night (Who's sound is bugged btw) who hooked me on death hook. My character was on the hook but refused to die. Just stayed there on the hook not doing anything. The killer could still cloak, break pallets etc and only ended when he DC'ed. That happens a lot and if the game literally forces someone to DC to end the game then there should be no penalty until that's been fixed.

  • Unbreakable is fine the way it is. Don't fix that which isn't broken. Rank 1 survivor and killer and I never have a problem with it. If I run it on survivor I never get slugged so it's pointless. The only time I get slugged is if I'm going against Leatherface who wants to play toxic or a rather nasty Plague.

As Killer it doesn't bother me because I don't slug. I hate it as survivor when I'm slugged so I don't do it when I'm playing Killer. Who wants to sit on the ground doing nothing for up to 4 minutes when you could be doing Gens/looping? Literally no one. Most people who get slugged DC anyways due to not having a penalty then nobody wins. You either farm and let everyone out or you kill/get killed and get toxic survivors/killers.

It's a 1 time perk with a passive effect that doesn't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. If the only way a killer can win is by slugging then get more practice as that killer or move on to another that has either better perks or more map presence.

Gotta look at it from both sides. Do I like getting slugged as survivor? No. Do I do it as killer and risk them having Unbreakable? If the answer is yes then you need to be better at whatever killer you're playing so you can apply better pressure so you don't feel the need to slug. Survivor has DS? If you caught them after they were unhooked then eat it. Any good killer can eat a DS and be right back on a survivors heels. The exception being if the tile layout highly favors the survivors and they're decent loopers which they don't always do.

Oh yeah would probably do the same but I never pay attention who joined my lobby but you are doing good work :)

You give the Toxic you get the Mori. After I get who ever was being a jerk I'll typically let the others go.

Had a toxic 3 man swf the other day who complained about my "Meta" perks on hag (Who I rarely play anymore) and wishing oh so lovely things upon me. Got them again in my next lobby. Mori'd 2 with the 3rd DCing and I let the solo guy so. I'm mean, but I'm not Evil lol.

  • @DwightOP I would as well. I have my own list of people who are super toxic towards me or anyone else in game. It's starting to get rather big.

They're the ones who get the Ebony Mori ;)

Are legal issues preventing you guys from telling the reporter what happened? Or simply not implement? Would be great to know when a cheater is banned or not

I'm not sure if there even could be a legal issue. Maybe from telling the reporter exactly what happened?

It would be nice tho to have an email just stating "Yes, we have received your complaint and yes something has been done".

I feel as tho their entire report system could use an overhaul more in favor of the reporter. But as I stated above as long as they're handled then I'm happy. Them letting us know would just be a bonus IMO.

    🙄

@SirCipher The reports are forwarded to the ACM's for investigation, they will review the chat logs and decide what action to take...that could be a temporary ban or a permanent ban depending on the circumstances (previous temp bans etc).

All reports are looked at and dealt with and action is taken on them providing that something bannable has actually occurred and there is sufficient evidence. You do not receive notification of what action was taken though.

@MandyTalk Oh okay awesome. Kinda sad I'll never know if they got a punishment but as long as they are actively being looked into then that's alright with me.

Are you able to tell me or link to a page where it lists bannable offenses? I'd like to know just for future reference.

    Thanks all for the replies!

  • I hope that's not the case. People need to realize being super toxic is a garbage way to play a game. Like I leave my profile open so people can comment and give me salt because I don't care more often than not.

However, if you're telling people to get cancer or kill themself then you should be removed from whatever game permanently. There should be a zero tolerance for stuff like that.

  • Finally! A thread not bashing the skin!!

Nea's my new main because of the new skin for her. I love it to death lol.

  • Cosmetic looks awesome. Was never really a Nea player but with it I'll be getting her P3 for sure.

The fact that it's a set and I can't mix and match doesn't bother me at all. I don't know why everyone's so upset over it. It's ONE skin. I have dozens of cosmetic over several characters to match with. One skin, even if every survivor/killer gets one, won't make a difference to me.

It's a great looking cosmetic that suits her lore very well imo. I'll be rocking it until the next set comes out for someone else.

  • Alex Mercer from Prototype would be an awesome killer I think. He'd be nerfed into the ground cause his power from the games would be way too op tho.

  • @Boss said:

Never been mad at other Survivors, but i've gotten the usual: I was "camping", "tunneling", killed all 4, etc.

I've had generally irritated Killers, but i can't quite recall a Killer who mad at me specifically.

I just had two super mad survivors. Playing Doctor at rank 4 and a Dwight ran up to me while carrying a survivor to a hook trying to blind me. Smacked him twice and hooked both of them. In the end game chat as per usual I just say "ggwp all" (Unless I'm tilted then I just leave) and he proceeded to ask me to commit suicide while his Blendette friend in an all caps rage "F*CK YOU".

Now here's the thing.... That angry Claudette I left alone in the basement because she had just gotten unhooked. Injured in the corner I didn't see who unhooked her so I left her there to run or heal to find the unhooker. Hooked a Meg and she came for the instant unhook so I slapped her down and killed her. I gave her a chance to recover and she wasted it and payed for it. Still got blasted. Sometimes I can't help but laugh.

I stopped playing because I was getting so frustrated. This game makes me feel so powerless. My skill as a player doesn't seem to matter due to the bs perks and innumerable bugs in this game.

I held on for a long time hoping the devs would fix things, but after mishandling dedicated servers and the ruin nerf I called it quits.

I don't blame you. I've uninstalled a few times. I got so mad at a streamer one time. Camping first hook with Iri Hatchets. Was playing with a friend whose rank was much lower than mine so they weren't the best. Him and his entire stream were just bad mouthing us the entire time. The whole morons, boosted, potato nonsense. I reported him for harassment hoping at the very least he'd get a warning and try to be a bit nicer but I doubt it. He still streams DBD with the same comments and rude chat.

I pretty much run spine chill most of my games since i am convinced it is one if not the best perk for survivors (maybe even in general), and sometimes even Resillience as an adition to run the Fast Vault build. I am very advanced in looping, maximising loops as much as possible and for that i have to have my timing always on point... in which i normally succeed. But then dedicated servers comes around the corner and says NO! Should make a compilation of dedicated server hits, i would be able to make a 5 minutes video of dedicated server hits every week..

I must always laugh when people come around and say that it works perfectly fine since from the killers perspective, it was a legit hit. How is that fair? I can not calculate this what the killer might see and what not, when you try to milk a loop as much as possible, it becomes a guessing game sometimes.

haha yea and the tbaging... i mean i can understand it if i would play scummy.. then i would deserve that, but not when i play nice as usually.

Dead By Daylight: Fails of the Week. Rake in that YouTube money lol.

Toxic SWF. The very teams that all have torches and click, click, click them.

After the end of the game I either get a response of 'GG EZ' or 'tunnelling, camping blah blah blah' depending on the outcome.

That actually just happened to me lol. I was asked to stop living :P.

  • @Lexilogo said:

*"is only game, why you heff to be mad" clip goes here*

What makes me angry is when people seemingly only play to be asshats to each other. I don't mind having healthy fun at your opponent's expense, but stuff like gg ezs frustrates me, then just gets me morose afterwards.

I particularly fail to understand why "baby killer" and similar things are hurled insults. I mean, I understand saying other people are unskilled is common in PvP games, but when you're complaining when you win that you got a garbage opponent, and then complain when you lose that they were "playing scummy", maybe you're the problem?

Eh, it just gets on my nerves that I can't understand why some people are like that. On some level I get feeling better than others gets you kicks but I seriously don't get how some people can be really, really vile and not at all pick up on the fact that they're being a douchebag. (though, I should note: I don't bring that stuff into postgame chat, generally. Normally I leave it to a snarky remark about the match THEN go if something like that happens. They not only probably don't care they're asshats, but any normal people in the match don't deserve to be exposed to a nasty back + forth in postchat, just leave them alone)

You and me both. I guess it's in a good portion of Gamers nature to hurl insults and what not over the smallest of things. It reminds me of playing hide and seek as a kid and fighting over whether you caught someone or not lol.

    As a killer:

    • When i play bad (for example miss a blink as the nurse or loose a player during chase)
    • I play very fair and actually friendly, never tunnel, never camp not even at the endgame. But when then one of these shits is tbaging at the exit gate... oh man, this is something that pisses me off

    As a survivor

    • Window hits... oh god they tilt me. Dedicated servers are my cryptonite
    • When playing bad in general
    • When others play really bad

I find running Spine Chill has me hit less through windows. Try throwing that into your kit.

Survivors Teabagging... Best hope my aim with deathslinger is off and you're not injured lol

  • @EmpireWinner said:

The only thing that frustrates me are dedicated servers

What about them? Lag, rubberbanding, impossible window hits? If memory serves I think the devs said something about trying to fix the issue with latency on dedicated servers.

Everything makes everyone mad. What they do is come to these forums and cause endless arguments, mostly over non-issues, due to large amounts of butthurt.

Which I want to make apparent is not what I'm doing. Just so no miscommunication here. I've seen many a post where someone comes bellyaching to the forums looking for people to agree with them only to have it backfire or start a 4 page wide argument.

I am curious as to why they seek so hard to be right. Whether it's a bad loop they don't like or a strong killer they're complaining about.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

I get mad - some when someone purposely ruins my match, but mostly when I see inconsiderate people purposely ruining the match of others for no reason. I have no problem telling someone why they angered me in post game chat, especially when that is the only method of venting your frustration.

As a survivor especially, my thing is that a killer can vent their frustration in the match. Someone does something that is your personal pet peeve or you find to be rude, toxic, etc. and you can literally kill their character and take them out of the game - reduce their points, their pips/rank. There is retribution to be had by killers, which I think allows for more satisfaction against toxic or unsavory people/game play and the ability to laugh it off. As a survivor, you have next to nothing inside the match - especially while playing solo. You get hooked first and die on first hook while being face camped by an insta-down killer...shrug...nothing you can do. RIP your points, your rank, the time you spent getting into the match, and your enjoyment of the game itself. All you have is post-game chat to voice your frustration.

The thing that makes me most mad at the game is typically just people who don't care about the enjoyment of the game for others. I've had matches where my team stomped an obviously newer killer (maybe not new to playing killer but new to that particular killer) and during the match I just let myself be sacrificed because it matters to me that everyone be able to get pts and meet their objectives. I sometimes play with my sister, and if we have a match like that sometimes we'll work together to die because 2 dead, 2 escape is fair and I know I'll at least black pip in a match like that. I've had matches as killer where I was stomping a struggling team - one of those matches where no matter where I go I keep coming across the same limping, sad, injured survivor or have most people death hook within 1-2 gens. I just let them have some time to reset and get back in the game. I don't find it fun to proverbially kick people while they're down and I know from personal experience that too many repetitive matches like that really sours the entire game for people. I feel like the lack of consideration that can come from both sides is the root of toxicity and animosity in DBD.

At the end of the day, the addage that it's "just a game" can go both ways. Yes, it's a game and you shouldn't take it too seriously even if people are doing things that trigger you. At the same time, it's just a game and games are supposed to be fun for everyone. Just because you can win by using a method that you know sucks the fun and enjoyment out of the game for others doesn't mean you should. And if it's "just a game" and not something to be taken seriously, why would you?

People just need to be more considerate, IMO.

I agree with basically everything you've said. Can you be on my team please? lol. I've had plenty of teams where I've gotten several hooks before 2 gens are done and there's many time's I could slug and go for the last guy. More often then not I don't slug and let the third guy get the unhook while I'm hooking player #2. 1. It gives them a chance to recover and get more points and 2. If I don't end the game right then and there I'll also get more points. Doing that is a win win for both sides.

Knowing that tho there have been times where I've had crappy games where I only get at most 1 kill. If I'm having a bad day then I'll pop in and Ebony and wreck the team. While I know this is unfair for them (#removemoris) I find it gives me a boost to continue playing because I've won.

Now don't get me wrong.... I get salty at times. Very salty. However I find that if you look back at what happened the reason you lost was because you couldn't loop well enough, ran into the killer, stepped in an obvious trap etc. I realize that I died due to my own mistakes. Once that thought clicks I get over it and try to become better at the game.

Salt can be a good thing when you keep it to yourself. You either strive to become better or you find another game to enjoy. When you intentionally bring others down because you don't like how they play and you have nothing constructive to say that's when I find there is a problem and give them the old "git gud".

In-game player reports on hacking are investigated. Cheats can be detected by an automated system or through investigation of these reports. Video proof is an additional proof that can facilitate the investigation but isn't necessary for most case.

We do receive a high amount of false in-game reports for cheating / hacking, sometimes caused by game mechanic incomprehension or player frustration. These reports are discarded and cleared from your player profile. If you didn't cheat, you won't be punished.

Wow. Thanks all for the speedy replies on this. It's all much appreciated. It's good to know even if I get reported from salty survivors on the basis of hacking I'll end up being okay in the long run. Thanks Queen for the reply :)
