I'm only going to post this once, just because I've never actually made a discussion on it, but if you've looked through some Nemesis threads, you'll probably see me in them quite often. I'm personally not the biggest fan of Nemesis as he is, as I feel he doesn't represent him as he was in RE3: Remake, where he was pulled from. I've given these ideas in other threads but decided to lay them here in one convenient location.
In order for Nemesis to feel like the Nemesis we have in the games, I feel he needs at least 2 of these things.
- An add-on that turns the Zombies into NE-a Parasite Zombies, gives them a range of 5 meters, with a 3-4 second attack cooldown (so the Survivor doesn't get absolutely mauled with their current 1 second cooldown).
Pretty simple, the NE-a Parasites are a real interesting enemy you face in RE3: Remake, and since Nemesis has the NE-a Parasite himself, I feel that replacing both, or even just one of the zombies with a NE-a Parasite, would be interesting and would allow players to create more interesting zombie-focused builds. It'd also give the Survivors a new threat to face that'd be interesting to play with and against, as you can't just easily bait out the zombies. They'd still be blinded of course, but it'd be riskier. As a penalty, if both zombies are NE-a's, then the respawn time doubles. If Nemesis destroys them, they go from 15 -> 30, and if a Survivor pallets them, from 30(?) -> 60(?). This could replace the NE-a Parasite Add-on we have, since being Oblivious for 60 seconds after being infected isn't... too helpful, especially if YOU caused the infection, especially if they run out of crates.
- A running ability. Nemesis roars map-wide, then he runs at say... 150% speed? maybe 160% so he just outruns Exhaustion Perks? He has full mobility, can turn just as normal, but can immediately break pallets/walls (add-on that allows you to just rush straight through them if you've been running for 3 seconds), and you can just absolutely sucker punch a Survivor to end your sprint, dealing one health state of damage, but putting him in a... 3-4 second cooldown to recover from his sprint.
This would basically be an easier to steer Hillbilly or Oni charge, except you're limited to one health state, and can be used more for map traversal, if say Tinkerer pops (imagine that happening in-game, I'd probably [BAD WORD] myself). This could easily count as a Special Attack, akin to Legion's Feral Frenzy, so STBFL and the Iridescent Umbrella Badge wouldn't work with it, disallowing you from getting a quick and easy down. Similar to The Legion, there could be an add-on, or 2 add-ons, that reduce the cooldown you suffer by in total 1 second, going from 4 -> 3 seconds (only if the cooldown is 4 seconds).
- A special ability, akin to Trickster, although with a twist. For every 2 generators completed, an Umbrella Crate drops, which contains a Rocket Launcher (Doing this method means that Nemesis has, at max, 2 insta-downs excluding add-ons). If Nemesis goes to the crate (it'll probably be highlighted) and picks up the rocket launcher, *his tentacle (if he has it) is replaced with his Rocket Launcher, and he can't pick Survivors up. You hold M2 to aim the Rocket Launcher, it fires one shot, and immediately downs anyone within... a 3-4 meter radius, damages anyone for one health state within a 6-8 meter radius. It'd have a laser showing where the player's aiming, just like in RE3 Remake, and when it's used, he'd toss the Rocket Launcher to the side, similar to how he does in RE: Resistance (I can't find a clip of just the RPG being used).
I know that a few people have stated that having yet another one-shot down would be annoying, but that's why I came up with the idea that Nemesis has to GO GET the crates, he's just not given them, and they'd only be given if the Survivors are popping gens. That means, if a Nemesis downs everyone before 2 gens pop, the Rocket Launcher never gets used. There could be an add-on that drops an extra crate when the last generator pops (Very Rare, not sure what it'd replace, but it could replace the S.T.A.R.S. Badge as an Ultra-Rare). I also figured that the Rocket Launcher would keep the laser it has in the games, since it's technically able to insta-down everyone at once, which CAN be very strong and it'd prevent cross-map snipes.
Any of these (I'd love for all 3 of them) can be added and still keep the whip, just make the running and the Rocket Launcher be toggled by CTRL. I feel that this'd make him feel more like Nemesis, it'd make him pretty strong while also keeping him from overpowered, and would make everyone happy, as Survivors would have fun being chased by an absolute unit of a Tyrant (I'd LOVE to just see a Nemesis running at me with face-pummeling intent)
I do like the ideas here but honestly this reads more like a fan chapter than an actual potential rework. As cool as super zombies, a rocket launcher and a charge sound! it just isn’t feasible that they’d change him that drastically.
also the balance seems waaay off! A one shot rocket launcher seems nigh impossible (although I do like that you’ve quantified it’s potential existence) along with super zombies running around whilst having an easy to control charge that breaks pallets. That’s too much in my humble opinion.
Remember this is still DBD so we have to temper our expectations somewhat as the killer still has to somewhat fit the DBD mould of sorts, some killers fit easily (ghost face) others like nemesis do not and will unfortunately always be seemingly nerfed from their full game counterparts.

Beyond anything else I think this post really highlights how entitled many in the gaming community have become. When did we start demanding weekly updates? moaning when we don’t always get what we want. Being critical is fine (I’ve given my fair share of criticisms) but more and more I see posts that really are just pure entitlement.
It’s ridiculous, DBD has some issues but I can see they are at least trying... the game has made strides and is in a much better state now.
I personally think monthly updates are fine for a smaller studio and I’m happy with their continued support and interaction with the community.
Trust me I’m in some other gaming communities that would love to get the treatment BHVR gives us as a community.

Supposedly there are new prestige rewards coming though so we'll see soon.
New prestige rewards where did you hear about this? I’ve not heard anything about that but I’d love it if it were true!

If they down me I know they’re a hacker! I’m too good to be downed by any normal killer Dud! 😉

Long post incoming
First of don’t worry to much it’s a message and nothing will come from it!
with that being said in my many many hours on this game I’ve personally never been accused of teaming and I’m on pc with endgame chat! So I think it might also have something to do with your play style, it sounds like you play very Immersed and I can tell you if your team mate is on a hook and they see you crouch walking about the place they’re scientifically 99.99% more likely to flame you.
In the particular case you named you went over to the shack and crouched and nothing else. Again this is going to cause grief for your team Dbd is a game about decisive timing and reacting, either do something or don’t (keep doing gens) you went all the way to the shack crouched then left, your team is going to start asking questions.
You honestly should just go for the save in that circumstance if you’ve already made the trip. You said the killer was patrolling or proxy camping this can be worked with and can play out better than you think. Your team mates could have decisive strike, you could take a hit for them or worst case take a down for them and one for one, in this case one for two! sure your now on hook but you’ve allowed two team mates a reset and taken the leverage away from the killer. They may even go down again but should be able to build enough distance to get away from shack thus separating the killers hooks and making saves easier.
In any case I think the killer letting you go was more so a cherry on top for your team and they may have been questioning your motives long before that. Try not to play so immersed and a little more altruistic though their is a fine line between stupid altruism and good, you’d be shocked at what you can do if you play it smart but certainly don’t just freeze up and watch your team die.
Anything outside of a face camp can be worked with to turn in your favor!
anyways Don’t worry to much about it, your most probably still learning and nothing will come from these messages and people will always be a bit salty just be happy your not on pc with endgame chat 😱 good luck have fun!
-
I personally think he’s a very fun a unique killer to go against.
I do however think something needs to be done about his terror radius. I’m not sure if it blends to well with ambient sound of the game or if it’s just to quite in general, but more than a few times now have I died because I had no idea he was even in my general vicinity! makes for great jump scares though haha!

Once you’re injured you’ll crouch walk nowhere but to a hook. You say she can’t be looped normally. But she CAN loop normally as a 110% therefore she can hit you even without power. Especially because she can appear from nowhere, and when you’re outpositioned on a gen she gets the free hit for the guaranteed down with the power.
If you don’t want to touch the outrageously dumbass power than slow her down to Nurse level. Therefore she’ll be forced to use it and only get hits when she proven to be skillful enough.
Spirit is like the original 115%ms Nurse with 3 blinks but less riddiculous.
You’ll crouch walk nowhere but a hook Haha honestly that made me laugh.
i’m not totally invested in spirit needing or not needing a nerf tbh if the community genuinely feels she’s broken and the devs decide to nerf her you’ll get no tears from me I’m just giving you my anecdotal experience.
honestly I don’t have a hugely hard time with spirit at red ranks. My honest advice is to play weird! whatever a spirit may think your going to do, do the opposite do something spontaneous that they wouldn’t expect. There’s tons of options honestly. It works a surprising amount for me personally.
In any case I’m not going to argue. Spirit is for sure top tier it’s up to the devs if she’s tooooo top tier and in my humble opinion I’d say she’s fine.

Spirit is not all that hard to go against. All you need to do is lose the loop mentality and use more of a nurse mentality. Go tile to tile lose line of sight. Don't sit at a pallet with her man your giving her an easy hit. that's all I will say about that. She doesn't need nerf she is fine the way she is. Play as her learn her faults you will do better I promise.
👆 This
So many survivors play against her the Same way they would an m1 killer! Don’t she’ll win every time.
The amount of times I’ve flat out lost a spirit by playing a bit spontaneously (leaving a loop crouch walking to another loop breaking Los etc.) is crazy and honestly the amount of times I’ve had good players do this to me if I play spirit is crazy.
I think people are just set in there ways with classic looping even at high ranks. They need to learn to...
-
“You can see other killers in your butt after all.”
I'm sorry wut?
honestly Never really had a huge issue vs spirit. She’s definitely top tier but I would say she’s fine overall.

No it's good discussion.
Resident Evil featured a good variation of enemies beyond simple zombies and ghouls, there were a healthy mix of animal hybrids and of course Tyrant, the final boss, who felt really special at the time.
The sequel continued to add imaginative foes to the mix like the lickers and hunters. There was again a good selection of impressive bosses too.
Whilst Resident Evil is about bio hazards which cause mutations and the walking dead, Silent Hill has a far sinister feel and sense of dread.
The creatures look like poor souls with their only purpose to exist being to stalk, torture and kill.
Whilst being similar in base gameplay and being of the content genre, they're both unique in their presentation of horror.
They really are the StreetFighter and Mortal Kombat of horror gaming.
I agree with you completely! I certainly didn’t want to discount resident evil as I love both franchises and think both are equally relevant to horror in gaming.

Chill out I said PH fits perfectly. Don't gotta come out and insult me for giving my opinion especially when it lines up with yours.
I never insulted you just a little bit of sass! my problem with your post is that it’s not constructive at all. Just saying I expected something better is so subjective and says nothing to the devs.
imagine going to a restaurant “how was the food? Well it worked perfectly but I want something better” like nah that don’t cut it.
-
this is not intended. I’ve just seen a post from a dev in another thread confirming that they are working on removing this from the full release.

As I've mentioned previously, I think Silent Hill is a great fit for the game and the DLC look very well done...but I'm also of the opinion that the original Silent Hill games were not that mind-blowingly fantastic. They were very good with a unsettling, creepy atmosphere, but there wasn't that much to them. I am a fan, but it definitely wasn't without it's flaws.
Take Silent Hill 2, (Pyramid Head's debut): It was basically walk around getting lost, shoot one of maybe 3 types of creature in the fog or dark tunnel, find a key, unlock door, do one or two easy puzzles.
Now it could be said that DBD is simply run around, avoid the killer, fix generators, unhook a friend, and run out the exit. Sounds simple enough.
But it's just this belief that Silent Hill was this revolutionary game that changed the horror game genre forever. That's just not true. Whilst it was a commercial success with a big following, Silent Hill came three years after Resident Evil (which was influenced by the original Alone in the Dark games).
Resident Evil was a monumental success and many of it's aspects where used in Silent Hill (collecting coins/medals and putting them in slots to open things, for example).
It could be down to how important a franchise is to the individual. Maybe they hold it in such high regard as it's close to their hearts.
I myself just love the imagery of Silent Hill more than the games themselves. I also admittedly enjoyed both the films.
I would personally like a the controversial Mahunt turned in to a chapter with James Earl Cash as survivor and Piggsy as the killer. Now that's a game close to my heart, but others might not rate it so highly, which is fine. I doubt BHVR would want another chainsaw killer and another pig 😁
By anyway, looking forward to playing as the Pyramid.
Its all about perspective. In retrospect many games that were revolutionary and iconic can appear simplistic and basic now.
That doesn’t change what they did for their platform or genre. You’ve said it in your own post but I’ll repeat it here silent hill had a truly amazing atmosphere. Which Changed the way we viewed horror in gaming completely.
Pyramid head was a whole new threat something beyond the more simplistic ghouls and zombies of other horrors. He and the games in general were far deeper than what was on the surface! Which in all honesty is hard to say for many horror games that came before. (and after)
Now we see this done successfully in many media’s but at the time and especially in gaming it was completely new.
also resident evil became far more successful because it went down the action route (action survival) which was the popular genre for the time most definitely. Whereas silent hill stuck to its pure horror routes. Not to discredit Resident evil though, the first game especially was also extremely important for horror in gaming.
sorry for the lecture 😛

I hate to be mean but I think your looking waaaaaay to deep in to it the lore of the game and the entity there after is just what ever the devs make up on the day tbh. They seem to just make it so it makes sense for the new killers to fit into the game especially licensed killers.
-
It's seen as a pretty bad perk tbh there are better perks out there that do a similar job. I'd just go with spine chill personally which is available for everyone on the offset.
-
So Amanda and legion have a baby and this is the result.
Love it!
-
Naaaaah it's great I run it alot and have made some great plays with it. it's not weak just not a god perk any more, which is fine by me.
-
Waaaaaay to much stuff there to be balanced! location reveal, insta down from frenzy, bright blood for tracking. Toooooo much
It's also another case of this will be of no consequence to swf but will massively screw over solo players, Something we need less of not more.
-
Oh my good grief almighty this suggestion AGAIN! Can we call it here and stop with these now!
They tried this it was abused, it didn't work, there's counter play to camping already... Move on!
-
Uh noooo the perk is great as is and can work great in certain builds, this basically makes it a free kill perk.
Do you honestly feel MYC needs a buff?

The plague is a very strong killer, if you dont cleanse for her vomit, you will stay broken for the rest of the trial, and she is a very fast killer, with perks like play with your food and thanatophobia she can get very scarry. And if you cleanse from the disease, well, the red vomit will put someone on the hook. Legion is not this strong right now, its very easy to punish him. IMO he is just a very weak version of the Spirit.
Plague being a strong killer or not (in comparison to legion) isn't the point. The point is that devs have said they think that abilities that inhibited action speeds are not fun and therefore probably aren't going to to be added to the game in this case legion
-
Hey it's the same new revolutionary idea that is posted to this forum every week 😒
-
This wont happen.
A similar argument was made for the plague that whenever she made a survivor sick they should have their action speed inhibited, however the devs response was that having your action speed inhibited by a killer ability is not fun, if they wouldn't do it with her I doubt they'd do it now with legion.
-
@GodDamn_Angela wow I'd never noticed. What an odd change, it looked waaaaay better before!
-
@GodDamn_Angela Right! There's a few killers I wouldn't mind seeing nerfs on pig wasn't one of them 😣
Also hair nerf? I must of missed that

This is literally suggested Evey week on this forum and every week the dbd vets have to remind op that this was implemented before and didn't work at all.
Can we please put an end to this suggestion!
In b4 next week "hey guys I've got a way to counter camping!!!!!"
Neeeeext
-
The perks in a great spot it is a Sprint burst that can practically be used on command without having to crawl around the map like Sprint burst. It also has excellent pairings like dance with me and quick and quite.
-
The issue is that killer numbers are dropping fast, so it's a lose lose for devs.
Lobby times are pretty bad at the moment and many attest this to the lack of people willing to play killer, those who do still play it lobby dodge to avoid terrible games and thus any sort of punishment for lobby dodging will make those still playing killer leave making queue times worse still.
I agree that it sucks but I can see logically why BHVR Are struggling to amend the issue. I'd say what we really need is for swf to not be so ridiculous. I won't lobby dodge out of principal but I think we can agree that the feeling of seeing an swf load in with tool boxes and flash lights really isn't great! With that being said it's easier said than done to just nerf swf especially to not ruin the solo player experience.
-
Toxic survivors are just toxic.
A toxic killer is usually a player who is tilted beyond belief after being abused for several games in a row and can no longer bring themselves to play in a way survivors feel is fair.
Gets flashlight spammed body blocked teabagged... "Yo you were camping!" Or "should of given me hatch"
-
Hmmm not a bad idea, I couldn't imagine how long and boring this would quickly become for killers though
-
Honestly these days I see more posts about how this forum is a killer circle jerk than actual killer circle jerk posts 🤔
-
I've had no problems as of yet
-
Actually these two perks don't work together at all, simply spend your time looking for hex ruin.
Corrupt intervention lasts 2 mins, so just spend those 2 mins looking for ruin. Find it, cleanse it boom no ruin then corrupt intervention runs out and there you go the killers out 2 perks and your good to go!
You say you think it's fair to stop gen rush but this post doesn't attest to that. This combo and or either of these perks have one goal and that's to counter gen rush nothing else! and even then they're both easily countered.
Honestly if you find yourself complaining about either of these perks chances are you love gen rushing not that there's a problem with that per se just don't complain when a killer counters it.

But that wasn't the case, was it? You faced ONE guy with that build and got such bad tunnel vision that you didn't go after anyone else and wasted your time chasing one guy. And even if you did get 4 people with that same very specific build at once, on that specific map, that doesn't excuse you for acting like a spoiled brat who didn't get his way. Grow up dude.
@ClogWench agreed had a very similar situation as op recently however the moment the survivor began looping me I simply left to pursue other survivors.
-
The walls on cold wind are annoying for sure, I'm sure anyone who's played killer can attest to that. Your reaction here however is completely unnecessary and I give kudos to the survivor for keeping his cool while you blasted him.
