I had to quit my current game.
I'd rather wait 3 minutes than play 15-20 mins against a Plague that will end up preventing me from healing sick teammates or just have them already healed from fountain.
That just adds up to the situational aspect of this challenge :(
Please note that Plague being the killer is really not too big of an issue as this is only the 2nd Plague I've faced doing this challenge (but still.)

I think its because if they were Event rarity the devs would have to put them in the in-game shop so everyone could afford them.
I missed 1 reward (the Deathslinger's gun) and I don't think I'll ever be able to get it :(

I dont know if you ever played another online game with a cosmetic feature. There are always exklusives you just dont get because you missed a season, an event or just started too late. Why should you be able to get exclusives in dbd all the time?
also in your kind of compromise only one side gets benefits. If you can purchase these exclusives in the store its only good for ppl who dont have this stuff. whats the deal for the others? What do they get out of it if its a compromise? they only get the feeling: wow i grinded for it others can just buy it or whatsoever.

-"Oh great ! I missed out on the event but I guess I can still get the skins if I pay for them."
Besides, and this will be my final word on this thread :
The devs have stated that the Rift cosmetics are Exclusives but they will be released in the Store in 1 year time for those who missed out. Which gives a full year of bragging about the cool cosmetics you grinded. I'm already Tier 70 in the Rift, and I don't see why others couldn't also get the outfits from the rift in one year. The events took place in 2017 and 2018 (it's been over a year for both). People have time to show off their mad grinding skills, but I just want a Wolf Mask and a New Year David Jacket (and others want a hammer and a kate top). So why would you have an amazing Wolf Mask that no one can get and me tons of Rift cosmetics that'll be released in a year ?? You see what I mean ?
My SECOND COMPROMISE : If you can't sell the exclusives - make RECOLORS ! Just like Dweard etc. had Ultra Rare recolors !
Would that work ? (Oh and SELL the recolors in Auric Cells to add up the compromises).

That is their policy NOW which they follow with every NEW event item they release.
And as they have CLEARLY stated they are NOT giving out the 4 items to everyone for already mentioned reasons there is literally no ground for any discussion about it. You guys have to STOP comparing Legacy and Event cosmetics. It's getting old. Legacy was not an event ! It was a way to thank people for supporting the game in its early years. The two other events are events that took place before the in-game Store opened. Does that mean that the cosmetics shouldn't be available like all the other event skins they created ? It just... doesn't make sense ? You know ? Right now, people might as well keep selling their entire accounts for people to get these 4 exclusives. And what does Fortnite have to do with all of this ?! Running out of comparisons ? Seriously ???
And don't even get me started with this thread again : my IDEA was that we found a COMPROMISE... TOGETHER as to make everyone HAPPY. Unfortunately, I was too gullible. And I thought I could "save the day", make things change and help people to all be happy.
This thread had started off nicely with positive feedback.
I had a SINGLE question : Compromise ? Yes or No ? Is it good ? Would it need readjustements ?
What has it become ? A mess of illogical arguments and a flock of hatred between the different parties... This whole discussion just doesn't make any sense anymore. The same arguments come back over and over and over... Don't you ever get tired ? "The Store didn't exist before" / "You're not entitled to them" /// "You're selfish" / "Policy should apply to earlier cosmetics".
I wrongly thought I could set common ground.
It's fine, keep your exclusives to yourselves and feel happy that you kept them away from our "grabby little hands" (-Mathieu Cote). I hope this changed your life and that you feel good about yourselves. We'll just keep sharing and caring and create social connections while you have fun alone with your "exclusives". Then, in 80 years, when you'll all be pretty much deceased and that the cosmetics have gone forever, I hope you feel glad once more.
Maybe others will try what I attempted, but I can't keep wasting my time here.

Correct ! I talked about it in one of my previous posts : I really don't like the feeling that I'm not able to collect everything I can get (completionist / OCD / Perfectionist aspect of me). I don't feel the same towards legacy because I didn't even know the game existed when Legacy was a thing. I just feel robbed that I supported the event / the devs / and the players when the event was around and to not be able to be a part of it (minus the Feng Min New Year Polo that is :D) I feel like my discussion is going nowhere :( I should have reacted at the same time as others when half of the community asked for the withdrawal :/

I would add that it is not the fairest solution. If it was indeed, then no one would complain about it. This is why I'm proposing a compromise, to give out an idea of how to make everyone happy.
People who grinded the cosmetics feel like they put a lot of time into them ; and its true !
People who haven't gotten the skins and that want them should be able to get them with Auric Cells.
Both ways would mean there is a significance. Significance in the first one because time was put into it. Significance in the second one because real money was put into it. In both ways you are conscious of the impact of your decisions : will you grind and spend a lot of time to get it free ? or will you actually spend a portion of you salary (including money you could use to go out with friends or buy yourself a meal) to get them ?
I think this decision and choice is the fairest option :D
Still I respect everyone's honest opinions as long as the are not rude about them, so once again I thank you for adding your thoughts to this thread :)

I don't think it's fair that the developers have went back on their word. If they said they were going to release them then they should become available in some way for those who missed them.

In my experience, I was very sad to see all these people getting these incredible outfits at a time I couldn't play (even though I really wanted to !). I'm just disappointed that we have to exclude a part of the community on the subject of cosmetics, which were designed for everyone to be happy. Again, the code-related skins and legacy I can understand because they were exclusive to people who supported at event and who supported DBD at its start. I was here to support when the Howling Grounds and Scorching Summer BBQ events came around so I feel like I also need my share.
If these cosmetics were available for Auric cells, surely not everyone would buy them. However it would give a chance to those who actually want them to pick them up. :D

I can tell you haven't read the entirety of my post so I will clarify the compromise I gave. I understood both points of view before writing anything here : the first side wants in on every cosmetic, the other side wants the first side to stay out of this and not get the free stuff because they grinded and the first side didn't.
What I suggested is that these cosmetics be sold in the in-game Shop for Auric Cells only as any other event cosmetics. That way it sorts out the issue of "being free". All of the people who REALLY want these skins will have to buy them with their actual money, so they understand the price they have to pay for missing out.
Giving a second chance is showing how generous this community can be. :D

People like me were screwed out of the cosmetics because the game was flat out broken. How is that fair? Devs decide to give them out to everyone and people made a big stink because they worked SO HARD for them. Not really dude. Unlike Blight cosmetics, there is 0 way to unlock these outside the single event they had.
Either give them out for free like they said they would do or give us another way to earn them. It's total bullshit I lost out on this stuff, which I could have easily gotten had the game been at all functional for me. I earned 3 of the 4 cosmetics in question, I had absolutely 0 issue with people getting them for free. I even main Kate, sure give out the shirt I really don't care. But no, people have to be all entitled to something they "earned" which is nonsense.

Now that you shared your thoughts, I came to think that some people just want to keep these cosmetics to themselves to brag about how "cool" they look in these (exclusivity). "Oh look I have exclusives, and you don't..." This could lead to some toxicity in the community. The more I read the thread I've started, the more I feel like the people against just don't want to share the game with others ; which is kind of sad :,(

Treat them like how the Hallowed Blight cosmetics are treated. Once the event is over if you didn't earn them sell them on the shop and be done with it. People who want them can then buy them if they missed out on getting a freebie.
I acquired them through the event and they weren't hard earned cosmetics. The issue was survivors sabo'ing objectives or DC'ing before you hooked them, everyone was farming and everyone resorted to scummy tactics for their points. The actual objective for the events weren't difficult at all it just brought a lot of toxicity in the game.
I can recall all of that actually :D Everyone was super salty. Some survivors would go full sabo on lunar hooks and some killers would just camp lunar gens. Good times ^^

I don't believe so. I'm fairly certain all players received a cosmetic which looked similar to the real chuckles mask called 'Iron Chuckles'. The true exclusive chuckles mask is of an ultra-rare (pink) rarity whereas the one everyone has is common (brown) if I remember correctly.

It's the same argument as the legacy situation. A lot of new players want legacy but it would be unfair on those who earned it to give it out again. I can see what you're saying with Legacy :D It was a big "Thank You" from the devs to reward the players that supported their game in its beginning. I wasn't even there to support them at that time so I don't feel worthy of them. But for the other events, I feel like its different : I was there, watching YouTubers earn these amazing cosmetics and I couldn't get the game at that time. I just felt sad that I couldn't afford to also join in on the fun even though I really wanted to. And when I actually got the game, I expected "Oh well, I couldn't farm for them, guess I'll have to buy them." But I was sad once again to not find them in the shop. These cosmetics also represent something for me you know ? Its part of my past now, my past self that used to spend hours on every YouTube channel, watching the game grow only to be able to play it in June 2019.

Thank you devs for trying to make your game better for us to play, even if that means disappointing most of us with some postponing. I hope most of the PTB bugs will be resolved :D
I do find sad that we're not getting more transparency on whatever is happening right now in the Studio from you guys though :/
I'm sure you devs will find a way to make us all happy in the end and give us a wonderful Withering Blight event and Archives Mid chapter 3.3.0 patch.

Lol I bought the fourth one, thinking I was going to get +15% which would have resulted in about 4600 auric cells instead of 4025. I got bamboozled, but still managed to buy what I wanted by dropping the pig cosmetic I wanted :D

I don't quite understand how the new hatch mechanic will work.
Before : if you were the last one alive and the exit gates weren't powered, the killer could close the hatch (when you tested the killer hatch closing) and you could just repair one generator to open it again.
Now : if you are the last one alive and the exit gates aren't powered, the killer can close the hatch (starting endgame), and you cannot repair generators because the will be blocked.
So : Do you ABSOLUTELY need a key to reopen it ? Can it be reopened another way ? In that case : What way is the new way ?
(General question is "Can you please give us more information on how the new hatch will work ?") :3
