  • I mean, the way I look at it is, BHVR needs its players, the players do not need BHVR or this game.

  • I still think it's funny that they think a DC penalty actually does anything, if I DC, get the penalty, I'll just do something else. I don't need to play this game, however, BHVR needs people to play this game.

    Just a funny thought.

  • The shirt and pants are from the previous rift. The head is in the shop.

  • On the event page on Steam it says that the Mikaela and Doctor skins from last year will be returning alongside the new Dwight and Jane skins from October 11th to November 3rd. So, being those two are coming for the event duration makes me believe that the Dwight and Jane skins will also return during next years Halloween event just like Mikaelas and Doctors are.

If that is the case, it is HORRIBLE wording, it makes it sound like they'll be gone forever.

While that is true, very few people actually failed the skill-check in practice, at least in the matches that i saw

Principle is important, but practical results are more important

Not exactly. You can't say something is a guarantee when there is still a chance at failure, it doesn't work that way.

Implying that failing the skillcheck was a common occurrence, which it wasn't

Whether it is or not, it is the principle that it is possible to not use it successfully.

  • @TheArbiter said:

It was changed because for the survivor it was a guaranteed escape, where as now there is a chance for the killer to get a kill, while still allowing the survivor a chance to escape with 99% exit gates and body blocking.

It was never a guaranteed escape, if you failed the skill check, you don't escape.

  • I wouldn't really call this "lesser known" but it's lesser known compared to Halloween A Nightmare on Elm Street, etc.. but I would love for them to add something Ice Nine Kills related into the game, they are a metalcore band who's last two albums have been based on horror movies. Adding Spencer Charnas (the vocalist) would give me a new main to play right away!

But it's really not hard to grind 1 mill (or 2 mill), so you can spend as much as you want until they announce a new chapter, and start preparing

Never said it was hard, just saying that it was annoying.

So what, u just spend nothing? Ever again? What's the purpose of BP then

As I said, I hit cap, spend a little until I hit cap again as I save up for chapters because I have everything in the game currently. It gets annoying, having no cap would solve that. No iri shard cap, so the same should be for BP, no downsides.

  • I'd rather not keep spending some BP once I hit cap on stuff that I don't want (so I can keep playing & also get points) while waiting for an upcoming chapter because there is a cap.

I'm not sure why you even asked that, there's no downside to having no cap.

how do you know there is no shard cap? Could be capped at 1 million, noone reached that much

    Patch notes in 2.0.0.

"The maximum cap for the Shards has been removed"

  • You get their bloody torso piece.

That's unrealistic. Variables only go so high before it's seriously not worth the effort.

If there is no shard cap, there can be no bloodpoint cap.

  • It shouldn't exist in general, no cap is the only good "cap".

I think most of us believed they meant icon in the post game screen, something others can see as well - a proof that u put in that effort on that specific character. not a fcking portrait only u can see, what a let down

The developer update from June 22nd did say we'd get a prestige icon, not a different portrait.

  • Right now, I have only noticed the glitter effect for the portraits. However, in the patch notes, it says there is also a unique prestige crest which I see no difference in.

Edit: Nvm, the crest isn't listed as legacy which I could sworn before they said it'd be viewable in the post game lobby..

trendy & popular does not always mean better.

DBD is just easier to access due to its licenses as for Evil Dead its limited to one.

not hard to see why which one is popular but the objectively better game is Evil Dead while DBD is still the most popular.

i know alot of people like to see salt content as well & you can get alot of that in DBD of course.

i watch spooknjukes on youtube just for salt content because the lengths that some DBD players would go...

Again, like I said to the other person above, I never said one game is better than the other, clearly said one game has dropped off in popularity.

So play the game and see? Saber Interactive is actually a decent studio. World War Z was a great game. It sounds like you haven't even tried it. What I will say is that Epic being the exclusive platform for sure limits the game. Your post just reeks of fanboyism.

Play the game and see what? I never said the game was bad, I just said the popularity has dropped massively since the first week of release. It has nothing to do with "fanboyism", I had planned on buying Evil Dead until it was announced as an Epic exclusive AND plus, I'm a big fan of Bruce Campbell and the movies. Nothing "fanboyism" about facts.

twitch views have no correlation to how much better or worse a game is.

I'd disagree. Clearly shows there isn't much interest in the game anymore. For the most part, nearly every big DbD streamer has dropped it as well. Then if you compare the two games on Google trends, DbD is far above Evil Dead in trends, even when Evil Dead released mid May which was a 80-40 ratio, now it's a 92-4 (with Evil Dead being the 4). Pretty safe to say the game has dropped off massively.

  • Yeah, they are threatened by a game with 469 current viewers on Twitch. Ashamed the publisher sold out to Epic so we can't see it's actual in-game numbers (which I'm sure are also low) on Steam.

  • Upvoted. I use to love running that combo for the lulz, and I tried it again for the first time since the RE chapter came out a few weeks ago and saw that it no longer worked like before. I really hope this gets fixed.

  • No longer blink through pallets and windows, so she can finally not ignore basic defenses.

It's not a matter of prioritizing newer players over older players, it's actually quite the opposite. Back then, the way event cosmetics were stored were much less secure than recent events, and it made them susceptible to loss of progress (the reason why we needed to return them to people in the first place). We originally decided to return them only to the people who had earned them in specifically to not alienate long time players who had worked for them. Despite our best efforts, there were people missing who should have received them and didn't: The data we had at the time was not robust enough to catch everyone.

So in short, some of the people who did work for and earn them didn't receive their cosmetics back, and there was nothing we can do for them. Those long time players were out of luck. The idea of not alienating long time players ended up alienating those long time players.

It's unfortunate, yes, but leaving those people behind is not an option. This is the fairest way we can handle the situation. This shouldn't be a problem for future events as the way we store rewards now is much more secure.

    More excuses, just like you all had when you released the PAX skins sometime go. But, I'll clarify them again, except this time, these new skins are much more similar to Legacy than the PAX skins were, so this will be much easier to explain, although you won't listen but anyway;

It does not matter how you obtained the Legacy or Event Skins because they were both EARNED (keyword here).

How did you earn legacy? You prestiged before the deadline.

How did you earn the event skins? You unlocked them via an event before the deadline.

    Second keyword, "deadline".

People earned those event skins just like people earned Legacy. People weren't there for the event skins? Let them have them for free!

People weren't there for Legacy? Nope, you're not getting it. No words can explain it, it's worse than the PAX skins situation.

You all truly think because you're the top game of this genre means you're untouchable. You're not, no king rules forever, including you.

My second point, you claimed you had no way of giving the event skins back to those who earned them. But what do you also say about legacy? THE SAME THING, so how's it any different? It's not.

BHVR, you all just think because you're the top game in this genre means you're untouchable, but like the saying says, no king rules forever and you're no exception.

But now deathgarden is free and all of the pc players who never got the skin can now get it for free without paying money for it. At this point, if pc players can get it for free, why cant console users do the same?

It still doesn't change the fact that the way of obtaining the skins was the exact same way as obtaining the shirt, that's still locked.

  • @anarchy753 said:

They're different divisions of BHVR as far as I know. It would be the people behind Deathgarden who decided to make it free as it rots in the grave it's been sitting in for months.

Since the mechanism for determining whether you own Deathgarden seems to just check each launch (as they were lost after the free weekend if you didn't buy it) it's pretty obvious they haven't done anything to change that, or somehow "lock" whoever had it before it fully died and prevent them losing them while preventing others getting them.

Overall, however, it was never stipulated "these masks only go to people who paid for Deathgarden," the only requirement was owning it, which people who download it now still do.

There is no reason to add more exclusive items locked away from people, especially not now that we're taking healthy steps to remove the ones that exist.

Whether it was stipulated or not, the ONLY way of obtaining them was always purchasing the game (I purchased it only for the skins). Guess what was the only way of obtaining the shirt? Purchasing an item off the shop.

Different divisions, sure, but it's still one company. There's always someone over it all, including both divisions.

No matter how you try to spin it, it's no different.

I love your name, I really hope that if Bethesda doesn't create a disgusting cash cow for TES 6 we get the option to become a lich, it's my all time favorite fantasy creature.

Anyway, I paid for DG, never played it as I don't like shooters all that much despite playing F4 and Bioshock lol I paid them to support them as their game designs seemed far superior and balanced compared to this game. Seeing as that game is F2P though, everyone who bought the game oh well it doesn't matter because people can still download the game for free and get the cosmetics, so as of now you don't need to spend money to get those masks so they don't actually qualify as something you need to pay for anymore.

The Bloodletting thing though, I don't know much about, that was a store thing they don't have anymore I think? Sucks we can't get those and that they can't sell them again, why not sell them in the new store? Or create variations of those and sell them, something like that if it's such a big deal. Though I don't like Survivors wearing Killer avatars and insignia on their clothes, just seems weird they would have Trapper's face on their shirt and then get killed by Trapper.; that's some sweet masochism right there ;)

It's actually a World of Warcraft reference, but thanks.

Yes, when BHVR first released the store, for a limited time, if you purchased an item from the store, you got the bloodletting shirt as a bonus, for free. Same goes for Deathgarden, if you purchased the game, you got the cosmetics as a bonus, for free.

Complaints are a clue. If there are a lot of complaints we look at the thing in question. Sometimes we find the complaints have a good basis, other times we don't. But they are a good indication that something needs to be considered.

But I mean, Spirit complaints weren't rampant until recently....and she had been out for over a year with no buffs. Doesn't that say anything? Guess not.

  • They shouldn't be available to anyone who didn't purchase Deathgarden prior, just like those who didn't purchase an item from the shop prior didn't receive the bloodletting Dwight shirt.

  • @anarchy753 said:

Next patch is removing exclusives, no way would they make existing items into NEW exclusives.

If anything, all players should get them on all platforms since the game is now free.

not true. they aren't removing the bloodletting shirt which was behind a paywall, just like the meg/trapper mask.
