  • I main him currently, and i do wonder if i get tunneled or if im super unlucky.

  • Adding more steve cosmetics. Changing tunnel bandit to wearing the bandana and backpack with bat in it. Changing steves perks to be better, buffing and maybe reworking. Steve overhaul

  • also, nancy sounds like a car alarm and steves scream is a meme.

Am I the only one who thinks wiggles need a buff of some sort. I've tried running the perk that speeds up wiggle speed and still, even with two other players body blocking the hook, the killer is able to smack the survivors out of the way unless they're willing to go down in order to save their friend. But even then it's sometimes useless to do so. So I was thinking either wiggles need a buff or there needs to be less hooks or maybe both because right now there is literally no point in wiggling unless you're playing at least a 3-man swf game WITH all three of you running the perk that speeds up wiggling. I mean, it could just be me, but I wanted to point this out in case others are thinking the same.

To explain, i personally think it needs a buff. Not a huge one that makes it easy, but killers can go so slow and mess up and hit people and still make it to a hook, like hook to hook a lot of times is like a half-wiggle away. It should make the killer focus on hooking you instead of having so much free time before youll get off

  • I main steve, while second wind is useful sometimes the activation f it and timing is too slow to be worth it over other perks. Babysitter doesn't really help anyone and screws you over a little bit, take borrowed time instead. Camaraderie is always gonna be useless unless it activates last second, and even then other perks would help wayyyy more. So steve

  • Yeah i would also like to know why this didnt happen, along eith the fact that he still had his backpack and baseball bat on his back.

  • Already practicing this, non toxic killers are really fun.

  • @Dpooly said:

Never mind, I was reading it wrong sorry. I think the 'when you're unhooked' part of SW expires in the 60 second Broken phase of Deliverance

Second wind doesnt actually go off, its still activated after deliverance goes off, so next time your unhooked it will still work

  • @Dpooly said:

Technically it does, you just have to wait the timers out and it takes too long to be useful most of the time

    What do you mean?

  • @TheMonadoBoi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/178379/why-doesnt-2nd-wind-work-with-deliverance

Your first option makes no sense, but I agree it should be 60 seconds of Deliverance broken, and then the extra Second Wind broken time then you heal.

Yeah okay lol. Its just that by definition i feel they should work, however reworking all the systems to allow just this to work would be stupid.

  • Okay, thanks to most of the people who both answered and explained! You are appreciated.

  • @AVoiceOfReason but it saves the perk until after your done being broken. And the perk goes with adrenaline and will heal you again even though your already full health

  • But it could activate afterwards? Just based on the way the perks are said to work it should activate is the point.

  • @thrawn3054 second wind makes you broken when you heal though, so you are broken when you heal. Its also weird that second wind and adrenaline work but this doesnt.

Rotten Fields is one of the largest Maps in the game, and thus highly disadvantages low-mobility killers. There are a few issues with RF, but I think this is the biggest.

I find he is correct. However coming from me, i main survivor and find that if we are trying to make it more neutral, Decreased pallet safety is smart. There are enough pallets, but i can run them for a good while.

  • I watched ohmwrecker and the other youtubers play, starting at the alpha/beta? It was super early but i loved it. So while playing a different game someone mentioned it came out on PS4, and here we are

Spine Chill and Premonition are unlocked by default on all surviviors, you just have to find them on bloodweb, and you can easily do this at lvl 20 or something.

Dead hard, sprint burst and a few others were mentioned. Also the more you level up the harder it is to find yellow perks or green rather than purple, so that depends on luck.

My point was that the journey to get those perks for survivor is considerably shorter than getting those perks for killer

I get points easier as killer? This might just be me personally but i find as killer its not nearly as much of a grind. I also find killer much easier

  • @Seltas0208 said:

This won't talk about game balance, it won't talk about generator speed. But the actual ability for one to enjoy the game.

Sight. It's a huge part of our everyday lives, it's a huge part of dead by daylight - so why is it that those who have any sight difficulties are actively pushed away from playing killer?

To explain : as a survivor what you have to use your eyes for is fairly easy to see : generators are a brightish red to contrast its environment. Pallets are a multitude of simualrly bright colours, vaults have a very distinct shape, and totems you can cleanse to damage a killer glows a bright orange.

However things like the hags traps (which can be made to glow as bright as can be with a flashlight), darkened trapper traps and stealth killers can be hard to see, however most stealth killers have audio cues they make to make sure that someone who has a visual imparement can react to stealth killers

As a killer : survivors have a multitude of cosmetics that blend into the environment which combined with some of the darker outdoor maps can make tracking anyone a pain. Hooks share the same colour pallet as the map are hard to see unless they have an aura, the blood pools survivors leave while Injured can be hidden by the grass or they blend into the grey indoor map floors at time (particularly on the game's bottom floor). And survivors have perks that can take away the killers ability to use their audio to help them. Perks like iron will, quick and quiet, sprint burst to some extent, off the record.

So what can a killer with a visual imparement do to make the game playable for them? They have to grind the wraith all the way to level 40 to get shadowborn (should be an option in the options menu) and bloodhound (making it so those with colour blindness have a chance of tracking blood). Which in turn alienates that audience due to the options they need to play the game being locked being a progression gate that opens up into a relam of rng to get the perks.

Survivors just have to jump straight into the rng as the equivenlant perks (spine chill and premonition) are general perks. And not just that they're good perks too.

But regardless. Its imoral to force a player to suffer through terrible conditions to have a chance of getting the tools they need to play the game. Which will ultimately handicap them at the higher ranks of play as every perk slot for a killer is invaluable

But arent the perks you mentioned for survivors a grind too?

  • Its interesting, but we have ptbs for a reason so lets discuss then

    I mean, fashion statments?

It's too easy to win as survivor I play solo all the time without using any other perks besides dead hard and I can still win, you don't need to have a swf to beat killers, because even a single survivor can waste the killers time, by simply using safe pallets that cannot be mind gamed.

Also gens get done extremely fast right now so I don't think you should compare that to skill, it's like saying killers hooking people = skill when clearly it's ending chases quickly and applying pressure.

I just said it takes effort. Your mostly right but it still takes skill to find said loops or waste said killers time. Skill checks are called such for a reason, even if it isnt much. I just feel saying killer is this impossible task is bs, because i do it and it works fine ppl are overreacting on most problems right now. Can we talk about how changing gen speeds would also lead to more changes being needed so we dont just hold a button for 3 min 5 times?

My point was, most survivor mains will tell you they play both sides. I meant it facetiously, and wasn't serious. As in, they don't.

You might, and that's cool, but here a lot of survivor mains say they do just to try and justify their half-cocked ideas to nerf already balanced killers.

Fair enough. I find plenty of idiots on both sides. I just dont like bwing victim to assumptions.

  • i use urban evasion against hags, that way traps wont go off

  • I just wanted to see if it was just me or if there was anything i could do to make it better, if i have to let, my only variable is doctor creeps me out. the new music, map, and his look has always bothered me. i play stealth against them and thats a huge game changer. DC penalty has stopped some bad things though, but if a person doesnt want to play they will find a way to get around it, they already have tbh.

  • Glad you can understand, i just find that if a horror game is making me feel sympathy for my killer then either something is wrong with me, or something is up with the game. Now teammates, ooh my god they always screw me over. Im surviving solo without getting caught, and this is 4v1 not a 1v1. Something i used to explain to tunneling killers.

Sorry, I contribute to your boredom when I play Killer on the weekends. 9 out of 10 games I get matched up with red ranks with a token purple or green thrown in sometimes.

I hover around rank 10-13 as killer. I can only try so much in order to make the game fun, but it gets tiresome getting taken to the same strong loops over and over, or having Survivors save their DS for the end of the match for an easy escape.

So now, if you see a Hag protecting her basement chest, or setting all her traps around one totem, that’s me! Say hi by crouching and pointing at me, I promise not to bite, unless you enter my basement.

Ground rules are a good compromise! I can deal with these terms, youll just keep me from getting greedy for that basement chest : )

  • @Divinitye9 said:

    Survivor main.

Why don’t you give killer a good ol swing? Might put some things in perspective for you. Who knows, you might even enjoy yourself.

How you can sit on generators, flail like chickens on a hook, or run in circles and find it fun is beyond me, but that’s just my personal opinion.

i just never enjoy killer as much, i like being on the side that has a worse chance of winning. For me survivor has always been that, my killer matches are always to easy or too challenging, so i play lets say a killer match or 2 every 2-3 games of survivor rn.

    @Waffleyumboy said:

I never played customs until recently, it's actually a lot more fun than ranked atm.

I like playing with friends, especially now that i have 80% of the perks and steve is fully leveled, so fun is my main factor.

  • My experience is mostly on playstation, as a steve main, my sob story is people tunneled me for playing steve so much that it became, become great at chases or get murdered immediately

  • i play a mix of PS4 and PC. maybe the cross-platform will come out. Maybe i can just find a good mix of people and do some custom matches.

  • Announcement, though im a survivor main i play plenty of killer. I just refuse to use killer perks.

  • personally its just getting more frequent. I consider myself good at all the aspects of the game, holding a button for a gen is uneventful and my team gives me a harder time than the killer at this point.

    @Waffleyumboy said:

Yea as survivor it sucks to wait 7 mins to find a lobby then it turns out the killer is 10 ranks below you and that's why they couldn't even catch you. As killer it's kinda fun, but usually I get a team of potatoes or even a team with one or two potatoes and they never really had a chance. Matchmaking was ruining things for me, but I haven't played after rank reset yet and I'm excited to see how mm is after I get home.

    what do you play on?

  • @Bigyo369 said:

People really can't see it is survivior sided? Killer capitalizes on survivors mistakes, if a survivor is optimal then he can loop as long as possible without making mistakes, and the other 3 just doing gens, while hitting the great skillchecks. No optimal killer can be at 4 places at the same time.

Simple, you dont chase that survivor. You put pressure on gens.

  • @McLightning said:

Survivor mains will all tell you that they play both sides. The issue is, then they say "Hillbilly is overpowered". That's how you know they are bold faced liars.

Ok? I play both sides, i dont find him to be anything special. Most killers are somewhat balance but it the position they are put in that decides if they will shine of fail

  • @KingFrost said:

If you camp and tunnel, you don't get to complain about gen rushing tbh. And yes, I play both sides pretty equally. When you camp and tunnel, guess what? Survivors have no choice BUT to gen rush! If their game ends because they get caught once, they have every incentive to bring in the best toolboxes, and do nothing but generators and avoid chases. Killer Mains are every bit as entitled as Survivor Mains.

I've gotten Gen Rushed, and I've got tunneled. Neither are fun. And if you need to tunnel or camp, tbh you're probably not as good as you think you are. And when you face a better group of players, of course you're going to have to sweat.

"But it's SO HARD PLAYING KILLER! ESPECIALLY AT RED RANK!"

Yes, and it should be! That might not be something you want to hear, but playing the game at high ranks should be hard! You shouldn't be no-sweating every match when you're in the red ranks.

"But Red Rank survivors don't sweat their matches!"

If you don't make them, they don't. And of course a lot of red rank players are SWF teams that the game can't be balanced around unless you want to kill random play entirely. The game isn't designed for the coordination of a team of four survivors who can pick their perks in advance, cover their weaknesses, and communicate with each other in the game. SWF teams aren't invincible though. They're just MUCH harder to face for reasons outside the devs control.

There are issues with killer that need to be addressed. Each killer needs a slight buff, so they're all more viable options beyond mid-tier range. Toolboxes need to be nerfed. Especially BNP's. Key's need to be reworked slightly. But so do Mori's! Getting tunneled off the hook and then Mori'd is the opposite of fun. Just like getting gen rushed is no fun.

When I play killer, I don't camp and tunnel. If I see a survivor rescue another survivor, I'll kill the rescuer over the victim. (This changes in end game, at which point I think tunneling and camping are acceptable, because what else are you going to do? The power structure changes as soon as all 5 gens are complete. Unless you know where the other survivors are, or need to guard the exit gates, there's not much else to do as a killer. And when I play survivor, I don't bring in items (unless its for a daily or a rift challenge). Because I know how not-fun it can be to get gen rushed. But if you don't care about the other sides fun, then why should they care about yours?

    Perfect fair sided argument.

  • @baemee094 said:

I saw many discussion and heard lot of camping issue and tunneling issue. Yes, there are toxic players but it is not all cases.

Even if you think about it its pretty simple. you knocked down survivor and you hooked survivor. Let's say you see two survivors near trying to unhook. If you are in this type of situation, do u guys think killer should go away to let those survivors easily rescue?

or survivors has repaired 4 gens and rest 3 gens are in really close range, and you hooked survivor in the middle where you can see all 3 gens. Some survivors think killer should just go away from hook and let other survivors to unhook.

For tunneling, in front of killer(not legion using skills), you have one fully healed survivor and one in dire situation. What is the reason for killers to hit fully healed survivor when you have to spend lot more time chasing?

I really don't know why, but if everyone just think about the situations little bit, It is really easy to understand.

Most of the reasons you give are reasonable. im a survivor main, im annoyed when they go out of theyre way and tunnel/camp when its not a reasonable choice. Same for survivor choices.

Compared to the Survivors, who made more mistakes? I see a game where a Nurse made some mistakes, but I also see a game where Survivors made a lot more mistakes. You are only looking at the Nurse and not Survivors.

Yes, that Nurse made a couple of mistakes. Losing the David twice was big, maybe going for a quadruple slug within the first 2 minutes of the game was a bit to much, and he could have been better at landing hits instead of baiting Dead Hard so much. On the other hand though. How many mistakes did those Survivors make?

Ever think to do a play by play for Survivor mistakes to give them a count? If you bothered to look at BOTH sides of the gameplay you'd see that even though Survivors made by far the most mistakes they still managed to end the game with 2 escapes. They didn't earn those escapes if you ask me.

That's my point of view. Survivors aren't earning their escapes. They can play horribly and still walk out a gate or jump in a hatch without putting in any real effort for it at all.

Killers need to earn kills and Survivors should also need to earn escapes. But it Killer takes effort to earning kills, Survivors not so much in getting escapes.

they must not be high level survivors friend. And survivors do put effort in, i dont know where you guys got the idea that we are entitled lazy ppl that dont have to do anything. 5 gens wont fix themselves, the killer isnt going to chase a ball of yarn for the game so someone has to keep them occupied, survivors arent going to save themselves, someone has to open the exit gate. I play killer without perks, i always have. I make mistakes, but the nurse gave up multiple chances of a 4k.

  • @Chewy102 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1088532#Comment_1088532

    Let me turn that around.

Why should Survivors be entitled to an escape? If Killers shouldn't expect to earn a 4 kill game, then Survivors shouldn't expect to have 4 escapes. Stop generalizing Killers. Just look at that one game for example and ask yourself.

Did they earn those escapes? 1, maybe 2, Survivors was working gens that whole game. Everyone else was bleeding on the ground or in a chase the entire match. Those Survivors couldn't survive for beans yet they still managed to get an easy 2 escapes, almost 3.

If it had been any other Killer, it would have been a 4 escape. Trapper, Wraith, Huntress, Billy, Demogorgon, Clown, Shape, Ghostface, ANY OTHER KILLER would have NOT done as well as Nurse in that game thanks to basic looping and it would have ended in a near 100% certain 4 man escape.

Do you honestly think that is a good thing? Do you think that's fair?

You do know that if you don't attempt something, you'll never get better at it?

It is Nurse, and Nurse is Nurse. But those Survivors outside of David didn't bother to TRY and dodge her. And to use that David again, he seemingly did what you both thought impossible. He juked a nurse, not once. TWICE! That David earned his excape, that Adam didn't.

Your going on a off-the-rails discussion here buddy, you talk about generalizing killers but then only give the survivor side of it. And your excuses for what your saying just dont really work, they both made mistakes and the killer got 2 kills. As a player i go for points and fun values, idc about 4ks, i dont need to escape. As long as i get enjoyment and points to go forward i dont need the other stuff. this all started with the idea that because the killer was good it was wrong they didnt kill all the not-as-good(at-chases) survivors.

So you're agreeing with our posts? I wish people that made threads like this would acknowledge the mistakes the killer made.

Both sides of an argument must be made, killer screwups survivor screwups etc. This thread is like arguing No0b3 shouldnt die because he obviously outplays the killer in a chase, key thought is, thats not the most important factor in a game. But yes, i agree with what your saying and like the fair discussion you give.

Since BT exists. Flashlights exist. Survivors actually trying to play the game exist. Any killer with a brain will tell you the game is just completely unwinnable and unplayable and you shouldnt even try cause its unplayable.

Also we this is posted after good reviews by killers for their last few games, friend.

Pretty much all of this was what I was thinking throughout the video. He kept saying things like "they're all immobilised, they can't do gens" when there were at least 1-3 survivors who could very easily have been working on generators, and then acting shocked when they managed to complete them. Which tells me that his game sense, not to mention his perception of his own skill, is a bit off. Saying "I'm dominating them, there's nothing they can do" over and over doesn't make it true. And the minute-long rant about DS and how he wasn't tunneling and it went off anyway, after he very blatantly tunneled Claudette off the hook, was just a bit baffling to me.

He played well, but he didn't play perfectly. He got a 2K because the survivors were about as good if not better than him, which is how it should be. Although, to be perfectly fair, it did look to me as though he used Thrilling Tremors a fair bit, especially towards the end.

There, they gave you many reasons in a simple format. Problem solved?

The killer lost a lot of pressure in many scenarios. The coordination required for this is a bit better than "drooling gen jockeys". I think outplaying was equal in this game, and so was the outcome. That's the definition of balance.

I think he has a point. We also cant really decide everything from a single perspective of a match. Arguments like this never go anywhere, and chases are only a part of a game. You can be a god and still lose this has always been a thing.
