There will be some form of cheating in 9 out of every 10 games you play, and dbd players will make every excuse in the book from "it's not cheating" to "it's just dedicated servers". Disguised speed hacks/wall hacks and induced desync, especially through a VPN (e.g. China to US West), are most common. Get used to it or stop paying/playing. Unfortunately there is no alternative until the almighty BHVR acknowledges that the game is not perfect and is easily hacked.

Also, what region are you playing from?

I'm playing from NA, West coast

Were those Console players? Do you know that?

If something like this happens, it is usually from Console players in my game. Had a Claudette were this happened, two times in one game. When I killed her, I looked at their Ping (she was still in the Match) and even while not playing, her Ping sometimes went from around 70 to 800 and back.

And another time a Kate had so high ping that her Boil Over made me actually not get to a Hook, because the Struggle was so strong due to the high Ping that I got stuck with her. I also thought it was some form of Hacking, but she played with 700 Ping constantly (dont know where she was from).

So from my side, this usually happens with Console players...

But in general, when something like this happens, this means that they are losing connection to the Server for a small amount of time, which makes them running into one direction on your end, since the last bit of information the Server got was them heading that way. When they reconnect and send information again, it gets updated.

Obviously it is possible that people do it on purpose, however, it can also be because of technical issues and unintentional.

I honestly can't remember if it was a console player specifically that did it, it was half pc half console. But if memory serves me right it does tend to happen against console players. Not surprising at all since DDOS'ing is rampant on Xbox at least, like you don't join parties with people you played or are playing against, great way to get booted offline and eat a penalty.

the legion one just looks like a cheat engine user. the other two could be dedicated servers or lagswitchers. hard to tell.

I mean it's possible, Xbox is known for DDOSing but it was a half PC half Xbox lobby and I can't remember who it was. It's plausible considering their connection went from perfect to... that. (Yeah I edited the message I remembered it was half PC and half console)

I only noticed this start after the twins update when the hits were really really bad. Whatever they did to "fix" it has caused this.

People are also abusing it. I had a survivor who was messing with their ping the other day. it would go from 50 to 600 and back to 50 constantly.

Yeah same around the time of The Twins and maybe after Blight I started seeing it. Idk if people are intentionally abusing it by messing with their own connection or it just happens because of their connection by them having bad internet it really has to be fixed, I'm not surprised either, people on Console (Xbox especially) already know DDOSing is rampant because it's much harder to cheat, like it's known you do not join parties if you just killed someone or are in a game with someone. Really not a stretch to say they'd be abusing this now since people just kinda stopped joining parties.

huntress without her lullaby just feels wrong...

can we just make it 20 meters like the TR?

I thought that as well but that also feels odd, It's not a big issue though it's pretty interchangeable.

Like honestly I played 12 games today trying to get executioner adept. 9 of those games I had 1-3 survivors escape via key. Like BHV honestly I know u take ur time to fix stuff but this is getting so out of hand its ridiculous

Had a friend (can't remember if he had plunders) but he pulled 3 useable keys I think like 2 reds and one purple in a game like last week, something is up.

    Keep Up

    • Increased movement speed while throwing knives from 3.68 -> 2.68m/s to 3.86 -> 3.68m/s
    • Increased Main Event movement speed to 3.86m/s
    • Decreased Killing Part Chords & Caged Heart Shoes effects respectively

To help The Trickster keep up during a chase, we’ve increased both his maximum and minimum movement speed while throwing knives. The speed penalty from throwing multiple knives is now significantly lower than before. This allows you to lose less ground while using your power and land more knives before losing sight of the Survivor.

    Draw Faster

    • Decreased wind up time (readying knives) from 0.5 seconds to 0.35 seconds
    • Increased wind down grace period from 1 second to 1.25 seconds

To make his power feel more fluid, we’ve decreased the time it takes to ready his power. This will both feel better to use and give you a larger window to throw knives. As you’ll be able to keep up much better than before, the grace period before you can do a basic attack after cancelling your power has been increased slightly.

    More Control

    • Removed spread on thrown knives
    • Greatly decreased recoil

Initially, The Trickster launched with both spread (random inaccuracy to each knife thrown) and recoil. As landing multiple hits on a sporadically moving Survivor can be a challenge on its own, we’ve removed spread and significantly decreased recoil. This will give you much more control and make your accuracy more dependent on your own skill.

    Miscellaneous Changes

Finally, rounding off the list with some various but still notable changes:

    • Increased the initial Laceration decay timer from 15 seconds to 20 seconds: This gives you a longer window to follow up with additional blades before the Laceration meter decreases
    • Decreased post-Main Event cooldown from 10 seconds to 5 seconds
    • Iridescent Photocard can now injure Survivors

All of the changes listed above are planned for the 4.6.1 Bugfix Patch. Thank you to everyone who left us constructive feedback. As we’ve done with other Killers, we’ll be monitoring The Trickster’s performance and making further updates if necessary in a later update.

Not a big fan really, I don't understand why you didn't have Main Event on toggle (like you could save it) instead of just having it randomly pop up at an inconvenient time with a small window that if you miss it it's just gone anyways. Could've made it take more or even way more but at least on toggle it would've been pretty good. Would've liked to seen one less blade per state or even one ricochet base kit but it does 50% instead of the full damage. Like sure the QoL changes are very nice (Speed boost and the spread being gone) but I just don't feel it's enough to make him worth playing over other killers but that being said at least he's more playable now.

    He is so slow :(

Wait till he's buffed, with how hard the marketing team sold this killer I think they know it'd be a shame to keep him in a garbage state and make their efforts go to waste. Pretty much unanimously agreed he's awful so he'll get a buff.. eventually.. whenever they stop being afraid of buffing weak killers.

I really don’t see how it’s trolling I’m just pointing out everyone only hates this chapter because “Kpoop bad grrr!!” Willing to bet if the killer had a different theme everyone would love him

Gotta disagree, me and my friend love his design and we both picked him up, the teasers were amazing too playing audio clips with hidden messages in them, the marketing team nailed it. Absolute garbage can balance wise and needs buffs in almost every part of his kit if they wanna keep him 110% (And I hope they do because the last 110% killer was Deathslinger).

As a community we sometimes forget that the way we play is vastly different from the way the devs intended this game to be played. The same way old Freddy & Twins aren't supposed to be played as a regular killer could be the same case for the Trickster.

Ah yes, my favorite alternate playstyle: Losing

("I'm in the denial stage" I feel that)

Now, I know a lot of you people don't take triggers (and i mean ACTUAL triggers, y'know, ptsd like stuff) serious and find it a ground for mockery (you oughta do some soulsearching), but for everyone else:

Is anyone else showing a serious negative reaction to the trickster?

I mean physical unwellness, panic states etc?

This is the first killer where this happened, and I don't like it. Maybe it is because he ticks of so many red flags

I get what you mean, my friend gets like that when it comes to Oni. While I don't have it with Trickster I understand where you're coming from.

  • All you can really do is hope, seeing as his iri addon that forces you to get them to a one knife state for an insta down really has no synergy with Main event it does seem like they ran out of ideas with him. I mean if people make enough noise about it for long enough they will eventually buff him but it's just gonna take time.

So uh, yeah. Dead Hard. I don't really gotta say anythin else for it. Just Dead Hard

    "Oi, nice Dead 'ard! Haha!"

Yea I got nothin' for Dead 'ard really. It's just... Dead Hard, y'know? I just can't explain it

So uh, opinions on Dead Hard?

@DragonMasterDarren gave me the idea for this. Thanks to him.

Absolute crutch, that's it. Killer makes a mistake in chase the surv generally gets a fair distance away and prolongs the chase a long time unless the surv makes a mistake. Survivor with dead hard makes a mistake and most of the time a press of the A button is all they need and the chase goes on like nothing happened. Good luck "just waiting" when they dead hard under the pallet and slam it in your face for your patience. Personally if you're gonna nerf dead hard certain killers like Freddy and Spirit need to be taken a bat to as well. Not much counterplay to Spirit aside from pressing the A button and hoping she doesn't cut off your escape after you do so.

  • @TauNkosi said:

Yes, we get it. Your first three games playing him didn't exactly go well. We understand he's in need of some buffs. It's obvious he's not nurse of Freddy levels of good. The problem is, you're all playing him expecting to do good without actually working out all his kinks. Stop expecting 4ks and start learning from your games instead of complaining on the internet. I've already run into some tricksters who absolutely decimated me and my teams. It can be done. Just give it some time.

    No I don't think I will

  • It's sad too because the aesthetic of him is really cool, the laughs/giggles, him making noises really is cool and his tr/chase theme is good but he's just pitifully weak and don't even get me started about him on Console, just unplayable past rank 7 just because of how long they have to stand infront of him. Sure if the recoil was just up it would be doable but with it soaring side to side it's really uncomfortable on Console. Maybe it's fine on pc and from what I saw it's okay but not here.
