It's sad that only a small group can test these things on PTB, and that devs listen to them. We should all try it first and have our say. It's like 10% could vote in the world and the rest has to hope these 10% are normal people.
I've been playing the ptb and there aren't even alot of people on it. The same groups over and over everyday. There's also alot of dcs and killers letting people go. So the numbers won't even be accurate on escapes. I had one killer dc everytime he got everyone down on death hook so that it would tally as an escape despite him clearly wiping the whole team at 4 gens. He did that every match too and I got him quite a few times.

Dude, Eruption’s dead as balls now. What are you talking about?
It's basicly jolt but with no limited radius and auras of the survivors are shown for TEN seconds. Even BBQ and lethal doesn't go that long and those are entire perks dedicated to aura reading. So lethal pursuer plus eruption will be 12 seconds of knowing where the survivors are that were on a gen effected. There's also the fact that it was supposed to be nerfed that the gens only lose 10% of the current progress but they reversed that back to be 10% of total. Eruption has gen regression, aura reading and no cool down. But sure, eruption is totally dead now. I'm sure we won't see anyone using it anymore.

@Veinslay said:
Nah, the devs just don't play killer so they couldn't care less how miserable this perk is to play against. That's why Eruption got dumpstered and not DH
The devs buffed killers in 6.1 to be faster, break pallets faster and they nerfed surv perks like ds and self care into the ground. They took away the locker flashlight saves. They nerfed flashlight turn on speeds because of "epilepsy" but everyone knows it was really because killers got tilted at clicking. They tried to nerf eruption but couldn't even stick that one out completely. My guy. The devs ARE killer mains. Eruption is literally impossible to wait out because it depends on someone else's actions most of the time out of view. Dh is just between the killer and the survivor. If the killer doesn't wait it out for a literal split second, and yes, its literally a split second because 1 second was too long for killers in the ptb, thats on them. Just like missing your dh is on the survivor. You guys wanted the dh nerf, you got it with 6.1. Why are you STILL complaining that its OP.

I know I'm beating a dead horse with this one but I truly think that you as killer should just be able to destroy the boon /totem completely as basekit(even if it takes a bit longer than normal)
I don't think survivors should be able to have more than 1 boon up at a time even if more than 1 survivor has the perk.
Are boons too much ? No not usually however an extremely skilled team on fractured cowshed that wastes no time puttin them up, and holding W back to them one at a time can destroy you.
Killers can already hear them from 10 miles away. Boons get snuffed almost instantly all the time in my games and you wanna make them a one time thing? Plus every game has Franklins demise so our medkits become useless too. So you guys basicly want healing to be completely reliant on teammates but no one has time to run across the map looking for teammates with the pain res, eruption, dead man's builds everyone's so stuck on rn.

Your assumption that users are targeted by prestige with zero evidence other than 'feelings' isn't a fact or a strong argument imo
Surprise Gamer!
Players are targeted for a variety of reasons. Simply put, if you are the weakest link you will be killed quickly.
Survivors found first, those caught attempting to break a hex, unsafe unhooks by teammates, w/e all lead to a difficult escape.
Nothing to do with prestige or rank.
You're not factoring how killers have changed their playstyle. Instead you blame your displayed experience level not gen speed, the item in your hand or the evolving meta.
Thinking the killer is penciling down the prestige levels before match.. sounds like emotional damage to me.
Nothing is stopping you from playing offline 'party mode' with unlimited items.
And your problem isn't my issue tbh because I spread my bp on other Survivors/ Killers for permanent perks unlocks.
I play in a variety of ways with multiple builds.
My concern is.. would BHVR code an option to hide prestige or perform the most cost effective solution and remove prestige all together?
So let me flex on you a little bit before you ignore this post.. you stated I don't have much prestige to lose.
My total prestige level is 250 and you're a level 100 getting rolled daily repeating the same mistakes with the same result 👀
Once again your mindset is "your problem isn't my problem". If it doesn't effect me I'm not interested. I'm seriously not even reading your responses anymore. Like I guess we will see in the long run whether or not behavior thinks the lobby dodging and tunneling is an issue. You can move on.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/358533/prestige-levels-only-encourage-bullying
From the start I thought displaying prestige in the lobby was a mistake and I hope highlighting this issue again will make Bhvr notice the issues it can cause. I have noticed people with high prestige being targeted and tunneled as well as people with low prestige being singled out for being the perceived weakest link. On top of that the lobby dodging you mentioned. And no matter if it is a true representation of the player's skill in those cases, there clearly seems to be a psychological effect attached to the prestige level either way.
I think the suggestion of making the display of your own prestige level optional in the lobby and only show it in the post-match screen is great and wouldn't hurt anyone.
Thank you. Like I literally could not have said it better than that.

Once again you fail to miss the mark..
Could have stopped prestiging held onto the bp waited to use it.
Even after your favorite streamer and all your friends say/ complain how it's detrimental to their/ your gaming experience.
(At a minimum you earned 800 toolboxes, 800 medkits, 800 flashlights.. 2,400 trails worth of strong items.
2,400 games at 20 mins a pop = 48,000 minutes if fame time. Which works out to 800 hours of being boosted ingame no wonder you are entitled js)
Then complain about being dodged or hard tunneled when your "character" is stacked/ kitted out smh
"BHVR I want all the advantages.. items, perks and offerings without the killer knowing. Hide prestige from the game so we can play life smurfs. I refuse to keep playing against someone informed!"
btw I asked you: "Can you stop yourself from eating food? Or do you you blame your weight on McDonald's as well?"
Your response: "No. I cant stop myself from eating food.. you know, because I'd starve to death. Great analogy there, my guy."
Me rn🤦♂️
So done with arguing with you. Your mindset is a literal example of what's wrong with the prestige system. Call me entitled all you want. If wanting to be matched with my mmr and not wanting to be tunneled is entitled then I claim it proudly. Enjoy wishing negative gaming experiences onto other players just because you think its stupid to spend bp on your fav characters.

Can you stop yourself from eating food?
Or do you you blame your weight on McDonald's as well?
If I was leveling up and noticed the killer targeting me because of my level or leaving the lobby.
I would switch to another character/ skin until the community caught up to my main.
I wouldn't make my issue/ mistake everyone else's problem.
I wouldn't request other players to sacrifice their prestige because I was impulsive and caused myself more lobby time/ to get tunneled.
The solution to your problem is to create a new account and start over because your main account is boosted.
But you want to look cool.. so buy an account online or wait until we hit prestige 100 as well.
You have plenty of time on your hands with your bp grind to start over 🤷♂️
No. I cant stop myself from eating food.. you know, because I'd starve to death. Great analogy there, my guy. You're really saying it's my own fault for spending the bp to buy items that I like to use. It wasn't a problem to spend the bp before this prestige update. People shouldn't be getting punished for spending the bp on who they like. I literally said I wasn't asking for prestige to be removed but to allow us to hide it if we WANT to. You don't have to "sacrifice" anything (which by the sound of it, isn't much of a prestige to begin with so I'm sure you're completely unbiased). This isn't just a problem for me, It's a problem for a lot of dbd players. Don't waste your time arguing with me just because you think we should have to wait for the rest of you to actually play the game enough to get the same treatment. Im not going to buy another dbd account? Like the whole reason I want to play Feng is because I already spent so much money on her outfits. Why would I buy a new account. You sound so ridiculous it's not even funny.

I've been thinking for awhile that stealth play is no longer viable in this game. Between the scratch marks, injured noises, pools of blood, Iron Will nerf, footsteps, and the multitude of aura perks killers seem to get every release now, being stealthy is clearly something the devs want done away with.
True. But they don't want survs to loop or run the killer too long either these days so who knows which playstyle is being encouraged.

I don't think you understand how prestige works in online games..
Imagine being master prestige in call of duty and complaining about getting run over because players adjust they're playstyle based on your prestige level/ experience you display in the lobby.
I personally spread my bp over a variety of characters but my highest prestige level is 20.
Can you not search a chest for items or do you need 100 brown toolboxes to feel confident enough to play a match as Feng?
And you're not the only person who spends money on the title.. plus you're a casual so calm down.
The majority of users like this feature 💪
Oh. One more thing. Thank you for the picture of your characters and how they're leveled. It did absolutely nothing to prove your point. You should know EVERY SINGLE ONE of my characters were at least double yours and I had every surv unlocked. I played ALOT of dbd. You were clearly just slow to earn bp🤷♂️. When I say I favored Feng. I meant I poured most of my bp into her. But I had already leveled up my others for perks and challenges. Its hard to keep the prestiges lower when you earn so much bp all the time. So spreading out the bp evenly? Yeah, no.

"The majority of us like this feature". You don't speak for the majority of people and it's egotistical to assume you do. You speak for yourself and "maybe" your friend group. The majority of the people that I see/talk to HATE the new prestige system. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you like it, then keep it on YOUR character. But those of us who DONT like it, deserve the option to hide it. I don't need to explain my gaming choices to you. I had over 800 brown toolboxes btw. But I'll spend my bp however I please for the items I like to use which are NOT common items. Is that supposed to be something that gets punished? Just because something doesn't affect you doesn't mean you get to decide what the rest of us want. The fact that you say "you're casual, calm down". Dude. I'm trying to remain freaking casual. That's the whole point of wanting the option to hide like i already explained repetitively. Acting like you play dbd competitively isn't the flex you seem to think it is. The killers don't just "adjust their playstyle to my prestige level". They leave. It's that simple. The mmr is useless when the killers keep leaving. Everything you say literally is so far off the point. "You're not the only one who spent money on the title". Like bro what? Where did I even say I was the only one? I said I spent money on outfits for Feng so Its a waste if I'm not playing her. Like everything you argue is so far off the point. I am not wasting my time to argue about it with you anymore.
-
Sometimes you desperately need a bit of kindness and jokes in this game because the constant toxicity is draining. Boop the snoot is just a way to be fun and show you're not a complete bot with no personality on both sides. I boop. If they boop me while I'm pig, they can go. I don't think it's fair for survs to mad if pig doesn't wanna do it tho. There are challenges and some people want to climb mmr. But sometimes pigs will tunnel/facecamp u out because you attempted it and that's unnecessary. Just play the game normal and the survs will get the point. Of course its a stupid thing to do. But literally all memes are stupid. Thats the whole point.

Sounds like you play a lot, never adapted to higher mmr and throw regularly with no plan other than to eat the hook playing the same build.
Then come here to say..
BHVR don't add or introduce a prestige reset just remove the feature completely because you foolishly tried to flex and now found yourself being flexed on.
Or..I really like Feng and spend all of my bp on her because she's the only character I like to play. So I spend all of my MASSIVE amounts of bp on the bloodweb hoping to good items for her. Your mindset is literally an example of the problem. See. I prestige my character and it becomes "flexing" to people like you. No. If I wanted to flex it why would I be asking for it to change? Your logic is completely flawed. Spending so much bp on her was never an issue before the prestige system. In fact, I never prestiged her the first time. I play casual dbd and happen to like one character insanely more than the others. I've spent more real money on her than I care to admit. Why should I have to not spend bp on her just because people think I'm "flexing"? As for adapting to higher mmr? Hmm. It's hard to adapt to the mmr system when the killers that I am matched with based on my mmr are leaving every game BECAUSE of the prestige. Plus, I am a casual gamer. I don't want a sweat fest everytime I play. So yes, the prestige does make people think I'm more skilled/tryhard than I actually am. That's the whole problem.

SWF destroys the balance of the game. You can easily see that in tournaments that survivors, no matter how good the killer is (even with nurse and meta perks), that SWF always win.
Ban SWF. It was never intented for the game to be a 4 man group and coordinated party to dominate for so long.
SWF is literally the ONLY chance survivors stand against killers right now. The state of solo queue is unplayable. If they "banned swfs" you'll find yourself playing against other killers because no one is gonna stay for that torture.

So what? The teammate should just go die? Why? The killer will just slug them. It's a never ending cycle. The survivors can't win in that scenario and YOU know it. You down someone. Put them on a hook. Stop trying to get around the hatch by not hooking downed survivors. You're the one who is scared of the hatch.
Plus if they go for the save and get downed the killers just gonna say "Shouldn't have been the hero and just made the smart play, just let them bleed out". Either move you make, you lose. Either you're a selfish coward for waiting it out or a greedy fool for trying to get the save. The killer mains are gonna say whatever they can to keep the game as easy for them as possible. Gotta coddle those power complexes.

Or BHVR can stop babying players and let adults police their own behaviour.
90% of the problems with this game are in fact problems with other players, and BHVR can only do so much with the game design to discourage those things.
You, and other players, should realise that prestige ultimately means nothing. You could put all your BP into one character, or you could get 10 characters to P10, and it takes the same amount of time.
Yes. Because most of the player base in video games are definitely adults, not children. There is no point in even posting on this forum because people like you come and argue every single time for literally no reason and make it seem like these problems aren't genuine for some of us. Like if it doesn't affect you and make the game worse for you, move on and let me address MY suggestions on how to better the game to behavior. If I wanted input I would have put it onto the general discussions, not the suggestions and feedback that they specifically say they will read. Like I'm not even asking for some big change? Just the option to hide prestige and you are literally arguing it for what? Because you think strangers on the internet will choose to be less toxic? I'm not going to rely on the kindness of strangers in this game. I've done that too long and found myself sorely and thoroughly disappointed. I am aware that prestige means absoultely nothing as I'm 100 and not a tryhard at all. But relying on others to see that? Nope. They don't and won't.
-

You could just not go to peoples streams. Just because they have TTV in their name doesn't mean they're some kind of celebrity or influencer. In fact more often than not, TTV in the username means they don't have a large following. They are just players, like you.
Or...and hear me out on this one- Behavior could address the problem. Everyone likes to just divert the blame. Avoiding the streamers won't stop the lobby shopping, the messages in my inbox, the black wards every game and the overall attitude of the game when there's high prestiges in the lobby. Like you missed the whole point and let's be honest, behavior likely will too. Literally a pattern for them at this point. I don't actually care about the streamers opinions of me. But the game experience is terrible right now and removing prestige (or hiding it) will at least cancel the lobby shopping and lessen toxicity a little bit. I shouldn't have to turn off my messages and use characters that I haven't spent money on because they wanted to add a show off badge that does absolutely nothing. It was better before they added prestige.

im not talking about someone being unable to move from the start and then dcing.. Im talking about RAGEQUITS!!! can we finally understand this please????
Here's an idea. If you dont like the ragequits- how about YOU go find another game to play. No one should be forced to stay in a game they don't want to play. If the game is miserable and not making them happy, they have every right to dc. Like its a GAME. It's played for enjoyment and right now, game after game is not enjoyable because the game is that unbalanced. Behavior needs to add a system that gives killers more bp per dc and adds a bot or reduces gens when a person dc. But you are entitled to think that everyone else exists to make sure you're enjoying the game. These dcs are behaviors fault. And that's coming from a survivor main who deals with the negatives of dc all the time. I don't dc. But when someone on my team does. I understand. I literally cannot blame them because this games so bad right now. If you can't find it in you to get over it go play with some bots. They won't dc.
-
If they fixed the balance issues, maybe people wouldn't dc so much. The game is miserable to play right now. But people keep playing hoping to feel just a sliver of the joy they felt playing the game a year ago.
-
Every game I've been in with him(like 20) the knight downs one person and then uses his lackeys to camp. He can literally camp and tunnel at the same time. Behavior got creative with this one. DBD deserves to die at this point. Each update gets worse and worse.

Doesn't like a perk? DC
I've had a teammate DC on me, because I booned a totem they wanted.
I've had a teammate DC because i saved them off hook when they wanted to suicide just because they were first on hook.
Biggest reason for the DCs over ANYTHING is the fact that BHVR changed DC penalty to 1 min from 5 min, and there's literally no punishment for them now.
DC penalty should START at 30 min.
I'll get bombarded soon with "what if I got crap internet connection?", don't queue up then. If you know your internet sucks, you know that the match experience gonna suck for everyone in it. Get your connection fixed and then queue up. I have bad internet too, and I don't freaking queue up if it's over 150-200 ping.
There's NO EXCUSES to DC other than cheaters
Dbd is the buggiest game I've personally ever played. People get kicked all the time without leaving and have to wait for the penalty and you want to make it worse over one DC? The game itself needs to be fixed. Less gens with a dc and more points for the killer per hook. This game is so miserable for solo survs right now you cannot blame them for DC alot of the time. Behavior is to blame. They need to be spending more time balancing the game they already have instead of making new chapters. If the game felt even remotely balanced, maybe these solo queue survs wouldn't DC so much. Also the entitlement you have is really strong, not everyone can afford amazing internet and they still deserve to play a game just as much as you do. No matter what their ping is.

Dbd has been going strong for 6 years now. Maybe not always at it's peak but it has never done bad. Other games in the genre don't even come close to this.
Anyone who seriously thinks the devs don't know what they are doing is delusional and the perfect example of the phrase "the best shippers are at the shore"
Nice try there dev. We know it's really you. Fix your game, it's dying.

Nope. The game is absoultely miserable as a survivor now. There's starting to be a shortage of volunteers for surv side now and it's so clear why. It's the losing side.

Franklins. Lightborn is fair and considerably more powerful imo. But being able to make people drop their items that they paid for because of 1 hit isn't fair. Like even a white ward doesn't protect our item so if we spend 10,000 bp on a white ward and a purp medkit we lose it after 1 hit.

I really did not want to keep slugging her until her bleedout timer expired, I was going to give her the hatch if I had found the other person first but he would not show up and she was the only person I found :(
So first you say you bled her out because you needed the 4k but then it becomes you were gonna give her hatch? If you planned on giving her hatch you could have picked her up and let her walk around until you found Dwight. As for getting banned? You won't. They don't even ban actual hackers half the time. Keeping up with their guidelines is not behaviors strong point. Survivor mains(including me) would call you a sweat in that scenario and obviously behavior doesn't like people being bled out since they're considering base kit unbreakable. But if it was an accident and you apologized then who cares. Mikaela definitely isn't sitting in their room staring at the wall thinking about how she was bled out in dbd a few months ago. Don't let it stress you out anymore. Maybe just picture yourself as a survivor and if you feel like the situation sucks for them and they don't deserve it. Change it. If a killer has a bad game with no hooks I will always give them kills, even in rank reset because in the end there's a human with actual feelings on the other side of that game and I want them to not have a completely miserable experience. I'm still iridescent 1 by the next day everytime. The situation sucked for the Mikaela. The way you handled it rectified it.

If killers were buffed that much (they weren't) and survivors were nerfed that much (they weren't) then how can toxic swfs bully the killer?
Logical inconsistency here.
I literally just threw that in there to keep the killer mains who say swfs bully them from crying on my post. They can bully all they want but in the end they die for it. Most of the time that's a price they're willing to pay to keep the game fun for them.
-
It was addictive at the beginning of the year and I wanted to play it 24-7. Now I dread even getting on and when I do it always ends with feeling annoyed and drained. I don't think they realize that dbd is really unbalanced right now and the amount of toxicity is overwhelming. Losing is fine but to be losing every single game and being tunneled, camped, hit on hook, and everything else thats toxic gets exhausting after a while. I miss how it was at the beginning of the year. That major rework they did that we were "gonna take time to adjust to" really started a new era for dbd. But not a good one. It's been downhill ever since.
-
Because if we get that chest open we bring honor to our ancestors while you dishonor your entire bloodline. Better to die a hero at night than to awake a coward in the morning.
-
Lobby dodging happens nonstop actually. The killer leaves most of the time. Maybe thats got something to do with the types of killers I keep getting. But I don't know. I end up against alot of ttvs and I watch the videos back and they'll say things like "I'll be happy if I can just get that high level out, that'll be a win to me" (before the match even starts) or "That prestige 80 wasn't as good as they thought they were" when I've literally just been tunneled off hook twice at 5 gens for absolutely no reason. I obviously believe you guys since everyone's experience is different but everyone that I talk to/ streamers I watch all seem to say they feel the same way I do. But either way, I feel like everyone should have the option to choose whether or not they wanna show it based off of their own situations and how they feel it benefits them.
