For me NOED is similar to the perks like MoM, DS & Adrenaline. It's basically a second chance to do what you couldn't do in the first place.
-
I don't want to come across badly however I have this feeling that killer mains (which I'd like to consider myself) give too much thought to how the survivors feel. I by no means saying we should tunnel someone out of the game just because or that we should camp but if we are being honest with ourselves how many survivors stop and think about how we feel when they do certain actions within a game or run certain perks in a game.
I mean for instance how many survivors will disconnect to give a friend the hatch or how many survivors will disconnect to save an item when they've been beaten or just disconnect because they've been caught. While I think it's great we give some consideration to not ruining the fun of others because we can I do feel like we also need to stop caring about the feelings of survivors as from my personal experience they don't stop to consider ours.
I say this in relation to the whole tunnelling thing. Sometimes it just makes sense and yes even when it's the right move we will get crap for it. We just need to play the way that is most efficient for us in terms of what we all personally want out of the game. I apologise if people see this as a rant or as a negative post or even a swing at survivors, it's honestly not intended to be. It's just playing game after game of survivors doing whatever they want and feeling justified because their role is to survive. We should be allowed and not given crap for doing our role which sometimes means tunnelling and yes, sometimes even camping.
-
I thought it'd be something like that to be honest but thought I'd suggest the dumb thing first.
-
Is this a drawing? It looks amazing either way!
-
Unpopular opinion but this game shouldn't be balanced. It should 100% be in the killers favour. After all it's mean to be a HORROR game and the game is 4 people versus 1 person. I'm not talking about making it impossible to survive but it should be that surviving isn't easy and that surviving actually means you've worked your ass off for it.
-
So in my honest experience I've found that killers are less likely to be toxic in the endgame chat but are more likely to be toxic in the game itself which can be worse in some cases but on the same note Survivors are both toxic in-game and in endgame chat and by toxic I'm not talking about looping. I'm referring to there need to teabag at every dropped pallet ect..
Now the main problem I have and have come across in my DbD games is that survivors have lost sight of what camping and tunnelling actually is and accuse people of doing so when they clearly aren't. The other issue I run up against is survivors blaming killers for their teammates stupid choices, like I'm sorry but if you run up and unhook your friend then hide so I can only see the unhooked person, of course I'm going for them.
On top of that you have the yolo saves before you even get the chance to get away from the hook (been called a camper for that too). This is just my experience with survivors and I've had more of them telling me to "kill myself" or "jump off a bridge" than I've had killers tell me to do those things. We'll not go into how many times I've been called the N word even though I'm the palest white person you'll ever see who isn't an albino. :P
Killers on the other hand, the big experience I have with them is the demand we don't play as a team or being accused of Gen rushing. Now firstly, we are allowed to work as a team if we so chose and secondly if your not putting pressure on the gens then sadly we don't have much to do as survivors. I will admit that sometimes actual gen rushing happens but most of the time it's just general doing the gens with no pressure on us.
Okay, I'm done rambling on, just thought I'd share my experience with both sides. I know survivor side got most of this post but that's just because I've happened to had more bad experiences with survivors than I have with killers and before anyone jumps on me I'm not saying killers aren't toxic too, I've just not had many who've been so in terms of out of game chat.
-
@Orion Well, I wasn't gonna say anything.
-
The amount of times I've been called a camper because I've spotted a survivor nearby is honestly ridiculous, survivors know they are playing against real people who have the ability to use their eyes and ears to see and hear people right?
I tried to explain that to a group once. I was called a wallhacker and that I must be hacking because I knew where they where all the time. Sorry but if you leave your arse hanging out behind a tree I'mma see you and hunt you down.
-
When I say they are crutch perks I am referring to the fact that a lot of killers struggle to find survivors without Nurses calling and BBQ. I know there are counters to them and a good survivor can counter but those perks allow the killer to have a general idea where someone is and using Ruin, BBQ, Nurses and NOED at the same time is completely a crutch build but again this is just my opinion.
-
So in my opinion there are too many crutch perks. BBQ, Ruin, NOED and nurses calling and the problem is that these can all be used at the same time on any killer. Now I'd suggest making it so teachable's aren't a thing but that'd cause it's own set of problems. All we can do is play the game and hope that some re-vamping of the rank system happens to make sure skill is actually required.
And before anyone says anything, I consider myself a killer main and I do know that there are certain perks on survivor you can consider crutch perks but with infinite looping being a basic thing in this game the perks are less meaningful as they are on killer.
This is just my opinion though.
-
Firstly, I think that DCing is pathetic in any case. It shows just how entitled Survivors think they are. I mean god forbid they play a game that's not stacked in their favour but will play a game they know they can win.
Killers feel forced to use certain perks because of how stacked the game is in favour of survivors. I mean lets be real a second, Survivors can loop and loop and loop. Running from one pallet to another then run to an infinite loop. During the first almost 30 seconds of a chase a Gen can pop, sometimes 2 or 3 depending on how spread out survivors are.
On another note, a crap ton of survivors are playing with 1 or more friends nowadays, while sitting on voice chat giving updates on if they've seen the killer or who the killer is or where the hex totem is. It's 4 v 1. Why are you dcing? because you don't wanna learn to play against a killer who uses certain perks and addons to better his own chance of winning? You also have perks and addons that help you win. Use them. Play and get better.
In my own personal opinion however the game shouldn't be balanced. The game should be in favour of the killer. It's a horror game with an element of 4 vs 1 and survivors still have to DC because they don't wanna play someone who's trying to win a game.
-
Is camping annoying as hell, yes it is. Is being infinite looped by a skill-less survivor annoying as hell yes. Will the survivor stop and consider the fun of the killer while doing so? No. So Camping does not need defended. You wanna punish a camping killer, do the gens and get out.
-
I've edited this cause I'm a bit tilted after having a 3 out of 4 SWF's group dc from my game because I was playing leatherface but still I'm surprised that naming and shaming is a thing on here, considering you only really wanna do it when someone has said some nasty things.
-
I've not seen a stream do anything that would require a ban though, are you just assuming all streamers are toxic? There is a difference in playing a game and taking advantage of what the game gives you even if it's a cheap way of playing than say calling someone the N word or telling them to go kill themselves.
-
The problem with arm waving is that it can indicate to the killer someone is near by, meaning it'll cause a killer who might not have camped to stay in the area to try and find said person.
-
Don't hide their names, they don't deserve the curtsy of that.
-
In most of my games both as Survivor and killer I've come up against survivors who'll focus solely on doing the gens, I've been hooked first in a game and died on my first hook because my "teammates" wanna finish gens over saving me for the event points but in saying that, that's not the dev's fault.
-
I might be wrong but this event is so pointless to play as a killer...So why bother? I mean we seem to have to work harder to get lower points than survivors. We corrupt the vassel thingies than they turn back to normal by the time you've found one. Also, do you get points for every hooked person? I mean let's be honest this is a survivor sided event with SWF out in force using voice comms. Yay another reason to avoid playing killer.
-
I can see what your saying but still, Why add to it. If you enjoy the game, do what you can while playing to not be part of the problem. If your part of the problem then as far as I'm concerned I have no time for you.
-
Firstly, It wouldn't matter what system they had in place, people would find a reason to dislike it one that replaced it and secondly why would you wanna add more? If you like this game then do what you can to be part of the solution not the problem.
-
In a game that has so much toxicity as it is. You want to encourage more?
-
You where hostile in your post, insulted people before anyone said anything to you and you expect people to be nice towards you? And you call everyone else idiots.
-
@powerbats I never said looping wasn't legitimate and I'm sorry but you are trying to defend stupidity by calling a camper skill-less. Looping is skill-less and it's not the killer's fault they know that survivors will stupidly run to a hook while he's standing there. Survivors need to learn to punish killers for camping and until that happens camping will continue to be a legit strategy and it doesn't deserve to be punished by BVHR.
-
That person wasn't very nice and I don't want to defend his actions or words but something I will say is that we don't know how many survivors before you played toxic and caused him to rage. Maybe no one did. All I'm saying is in Dead by Daylight we have this vicious circle of hate followed by hate and you did nothing wrong and it's you who get the brunt. Just keep playing as straight up as you can and ignore the toxic as best you can.
-
Gonna be up front, didn't read it. Camping doesn't need nerfing. Survivors just need to be smarter.
Quick edit on this. I'm sorry I didn't read the post you made and I respect wanting to try and fix something you see as broken but camping is legit and after having game after game of teabagging annoying self-righteous... I'm stopping there but the point stands. Camping is legit, there is nothing wrong with it apart from what survivor mains say is wrong.
-
I'm not on X-Box but the other day on PC I had a random person in my game trying to help me find his teammates. I tunneled and camped him. I am not ashamed to admit it. :P
-
The only time I don't GG a killer is if I was tunneled or camped and when I say that I mean it was blatant and with the clear intention of ruining my game and not at all a strategy and as weird as this might sound I rarely GG when I play killer cause if I've killed them I always feel like I'm bragging. It's stupid cause I've earned it but there ye go.
-
They gave you no reason to leave the hook, sometimes camping is the smart play as it was in this situation. You gotta play the hand your dealt and they were stupid about how they played.
-
For me I just see the signal as "SURVIVORS NEARBY" but I guess everyone's different and while I'd personally prefer to see this stop I understand why you guys would wanna keep it going, especially if it's a tactical thing.
-
Okay, kinda expected this response. So the problem is survivors start doing it the moment they are free to do so. All it takes for a killer is to see it once and they'll know someone's nearby. As a Killer, I've both camped and tunneled when the situation has called for it but I was really just trying to be helpful. Do whatever you want to!
-
True enough however we'll know the killer is camping the second we get within range though. So I feel like it's pointless to give the killer another reason.
-
Thanks, I mean I get camping isn't liked and I personally only do so in certain situations when it's sensible, I try not to tunnel but sometimes they are the easier target and you just can't help but go for them because of it. I just get confused as to why anyone would call anyone ######### after they just got beaten.

@RSB said:
If you are playing mostly survivor, and tried to play killer - this is how we are treated in this game. Death threats, spamming our profile with insults, tbagging, bodyblocking, palletlooping and other "funny ways to play survivor" arethrown against us all the matches. If you are new - do not play killer, it is horrible. Stick to the survivor and try to be fair towards the killer.
I've played this game since it launched on and off but I'm only now really starting to get into killer so I'm starting to see more and more of what others are saying is happening to killers. I'd rather play killer cause it's fun and survivor seems kinda simple most of the game.
-
I actually watched a bit of Vincent's stream during the tournament. He's so bloody funny. I need to watch more!
-
Marth didn't hit the survivor because he was at the hatch which meant due to the rules he won. At no point did anyone say anything about the hatch having to be physically open until right at the point it happened. The hatch does not need to be open for it to be a standoff. The standoff starts the moment both Survivor and killer are at the hatch at the same time.
-
I thought things like teabagging was considered BM and therefore against the rules? So shouldn't they have been DQ's the moment the person teabagged?
-
It's not excuses though. People have asked. They've given a response. It's not their fault you guys keep going on and on and on and on and on and on and on takes a deep breath and on and on and on and on about it.
-
Okay, so a person complaining about anything that gives him a challenge. I feel dirty just replying to this.
-
All I see is people saying "they aren't telling us the truth" and speaking like they have all the facts. They've said why the console players haven't got the update. They aren't allowing any of us access to the shrine until it releases to console players and it even appears they have held back the anniversary event too.
Honestly, stop looking for reasons to ######### and moan and complain. Fact is, the update is bigger than anything they've done before and it's taking a while for it to be cleared. It'll not be like this for future updates, that's what they said.
-
In the last twitch dev stream, they explained that due to how much this update affects the game and how big it is the process is going to sadly take longer. They also explained how future updates won't take this long as they have ways to push them through. It's only due to how big this patch is and how much it affects the game that it's having to go through the long process. If you're so fecking read up on it, you'd know this.
-
Half of them say it because they need to feel like they accomplished something. The other Half do it to gain a rise out of you. It's honestly best to ignore them and not give them ammo to feed off.
-
@rezmax See, that's the problem. Survivors do have more options. It's just easier to loop than to attempt anything else. I'm not the best survivor in the world but I never let myself rely on looping so I can at times get away from killers without it.
-
@rezmax Because the whole point of the game for a killer is to kill. If you're going to debate what I said that's fine but please don't try to do so with such a terrible attempt. Just because someone play's "fair" doesn't mean they've automatically earned the right to a free escape. Your laying the blame on killers like everything that happens in the game is the killer's fault. Sure killers do camp and tunnel but Survivors are worse not because of in-game stuff but the stuff they say at endgame.
As I said above, feel free to debate what I said but do so properly.
-
@rezmax It's a vicious circle. Survivors act like complete douchebags causing the killers to reply in kind. I very much think it's silly to blame one side or another. As a person who tries to play both sides equally, I've seen me trying to play without camping or tunneling only to get called noob and teabagged and getting the "ez" or even being told I'm camping because someone's teammate got them off the hook before I could get away.
On the same note, I've played as a survivor where I've worked hard not to pallet loop or loop in general, trying to lose the killer and been camped and tunneled for my efforts.
What we have to try and remember is, how many times has the killer been teabagged and abused in endgame chat before they lost their ######### and started tunneling and camping and how many times has a survivor been tunneled and camped before looping and flashlighting and whatever else.
If we all tried to play with fairness in mind we might have a better time of it but that'll not happen and to be fair all those things I said aren't against the rules (other than maybe the endgame chat abuse),
-
Being honest I don't see this as tunneling, your teammate unhooked you before the killer had a chance to get away from the hook, you ran away from the hook then back towards it and the killer found you. If anything your teammate was the problem and your dcing because you got downed was extremely lame.
-
I can't wait until it's implemented. The number of survivors who rely on it, man I'm almost drooling with the expectations of seeing them try that stuff.
-
My point was just that survivors feel like they can act however they want within a game and then get treated with respect. At the end of the day, this is a PvP Competitive game. I don't play CoD and say "Don't shot me, I dodged your bullet that first time"
-
Killers job is to kill. Not to let someone away because they decided to try jumping off the hook. If you chose to do that then fair enough but don't expect me to let you go. Maybe if Survivors stopped being complete asses during games Killers might be a little more willing to be nice..Just sayin.
-
I don't ever teabag at the exit gates. I have waited at exit gates when I want to know the fate of the other survivors and if I can help them escape but the moment they do something stupid like stand at the exit gate or go back out to look for the hatch I leave. Once you've been safely at the gate and chose to wait then I've one my part and leave.
-
I do want to state, I don't mind people having issues with the game, by all means, that's your right but if your going to complain about something in a PTB at least do so in the right area so the devs can see and can change or re-work or whatever they decide to do. It is, after all, a testing phase. Designed for you to report.
