At least you got perks, in one of my games I had no perks at all… it was interesting!
-
Yeah I do the same thing, I do wonder how it affects my MMR tho, I still face people from 100 hours all the way to 6k hour swf's.
On one hand I had some really really funny meme moments once I win and then let them go, on the other hand if I get people with low hours the matches are over too fast and I spend 5-6 minutes just messing around each game which… over time means I play the actual game less than I farm.
I will definitely still keep doing it until the event is over though. Everyone usually leaves with 200k BP minimum, which is nice, even tho I don't need it anymore.
-
I got told that I don't exist.
-
One possible way to fix this without too much extra work is to allow BP Offerings and make the bonus multiply the final BP amount after every other multiplier. Best case scenario there will be a 100% bonus from queue + 500% from BP offerings (if we ignore anniversary offerings) multiplied by 2 (since a 200% bonus with this system might be a bit much) = 14x BP or 12x without the Queue-Bonus. Even with only 3 people bringing bp offerings and no queue bonus it ends up being a nice 8x multiplier.
Only downside is that this invalidates the event offering (unless that one also gives at least a 100% stacking BP bonus) and relies on people actually burning offerings, since without that it will "only" end up being 4x-6x the BP, depending on the queue bonus and if you burn an offering yourself.
-
Yep, another thing I sometimes do is use it in a build with fixated, vigil, sprint burst. If you use it you run at sprint speed but the game thinks you are walking, which enables the infinite vaults/no blood lust, but also allows you to recharge exhaustion.
The duration is limited even with the best Add-Ons, but it still can come in clutch when sometimes your exhaustion is almost gone but the killer is too close to walk.
-
Not sure if it counts, but I was recently in Tokyo and spend 2 bucks in a gacha and won a Huntress figurine?
Besides that I did see some neat shirts there too, but all the designs were too filled with stuff imo, probably would have bought a shirt that just had a small DBD logo on it.
-
Personally I ran Rapid Brutality, Stbfl, Coup and pop. Have yet to lose a game (tho I also had a lot of people just give up).
If you have two survs on your radar (one can be the one you chase) and have 8 stacks of stbfl you can almost m1 into coup lunge and still hit survivors. Had that happen on shattered square where I managed to hit a survivor, that beelined to a pallet around 10-15m or so away from the hit and barely managed to coup-lunge and hit them, really curious how that looked from their side.
-
MFT/Hope/Hyperfocus/Stake out.
Makes gens fun again and the raw power of 10% speed in endgame is also super fun!
-
It depends, I usually have a 60% escape rate, but I also got really good teammates recently. To be fair, I also have 6.2k hours (around 3.5k on killer, 2.7k on surv), so I usually don't get killers that are close to my hours, which might be why I do so well if killers commit too hard.
Since my build is Hyperfocus/Stakeout/Made for this/Hope the 2 ways to lose for me are either teammates that do actually nothing/go down instantly together with a killer that actually switches targets or just a straight up better killer.
If the killer commits I can usually last 2-3 gens and either get left alone and can knock out the rest fast, since I got really good at getting and keeping 6 stacks of hyperfocus, or buy enough time for everyone else to do the same. Once Endgame hits hope/made for this basically makes me untouchable against most killers and I can usually help one other person in a rough spot escape.
I feel like replacing hope with dead hard/resillience would probably be better, but hope/mft just feels too good in endgame.
-
I play on PC but never bothered to get good at them before and usually hit them 40% of the time, but after using the hyperfocus/stake out, and now fogwise, build I got pretty good at them and usually hit the normal greats 100% of the time if I focus and 5-6 hyperfocus token greats 90% of the time.
I kinda dislike hyperfocus for being able to cut 20+s off a gen with no toolbox, but boy did it make skillchecks fun again.
-
Was playing with 3 friends on wreckers yard against a wraith on our first game ever. Halfway trough the match I got stuck in a gen and had to DC after trying to get out for 5 minutes and the wraith trying to down me somehow.
Not that unusual tho since I somehow always break the games I play.
-
For me its the meta build, I take max slowdown (CoB, Overcharge, Eruption, Pain Resonance) since I am extremely rusty after a long break of only playing survivor and want to be able to take my time with matches while learning killers (mostly Wesker rn), only problem being that I NEVER kick gens since I prefer to chase instantly. I obv do get value out of Pain Resonance due to me hooking people, but 3/4th of my build get used maybe once or twice max per match. Not really unlucky rather than my playstyle just contradicting the "meta" tho, probably also the reason I actually do worse with longer gens than pre "killer patch".
-
I am the hoarder type sadly, even tho I have hundreds of every item I still need to "save it for the final boss". I have been using some green toolboxes tho to try out what the hyperfocus build was about and, while really good, I stopped again. The Build works without it + I can't bring myself to see my Add-Ons getting used up haha.
-
Honestly, I got a LOT of great value from it on Legion.
What I tend to do is force a pallet drop (works best on god pallets since survivors feel super safe), then vault over it, stab them and act as if I go for someone else. They usually start mending on the spot at which point I cancel my power and Dissolution activates. They usually react a bit late and I am almost on them by the time they vault and with the pallet now broken I usually get a down soon after.
If the pallet can be outplayed anyways you can also just use it as a timesaver, since you can just force them to break the pallet and then down them and pick them up, which shaves off the time it would take to kick the pallet.

I thought all of the %'s are relative to the base value, so you're saying each additional effect decreasing the %, is based on the newly decreased value?
Example: 4 thana stacks are 22%, so the gens take 110 seconds instead of 90. If you Pentamento a hex, its 30% of 110 and not 90, so it adds 33 seconds (0.3 x 110), NOT 27 seconds (0.3 x 90).
All of it is additive but it doesn't affect the generator directly but instead the Charges per second of Survivors. Adding 75% to gens would make them last 157.5 seconds, but reducing the charges of Survivors by 75% instead quadruples the time it takes for survivors to fix gens since instead of restoring 1 charge per second they restore 0.25, which means that they will need 360s to finish a gen. Thats why everything past 50% gets more value, 50% charge reduction means you need 180s to do a gen, but only 25% more DOUBLES that again to 360.

Dying Light could definitely work, only downside being that -% to healing speed isnt really beneficial, but ofc the -% to gen repair is. Obviously the 33% faster healing the obsession gets is rendered useless, so overall a fair trade imo. I like the idea of the iri add-on Black Insense with Lethal Pursuer so that it gives an additional 2 seconds of information every time a survivor pukes, PLUS you can get a survivor or two infected very quickly while noting the direction the others are headed from the start (know where to infect next). Shame Dying Light does not effect totem cleansing speed, then it would be a absolute menace with this build.
Deadlock is just a very comfy perk, nobody likes the hear the ding of a completed gen back to back. If running the Iri Seal add-on that gives you her corrupt purge after each gen is done, deadlock can guarantee you don't get a double dose of the power, potentially "missing out" on a later instance of getting your power mid chase when you need it most.
With a gen taking 90 seconds base kit...
30% pentimento = +27 seconds
4 Thana = 22% = +20 seconds
3 Dying Light stacks = 9% = +8 seonds
So with all 4 injured, a Pentimento hex up, and after hooking 3 non-obsession survivors you would get an additional 55 seconds, adding to 90, being 145 seconds total. Curious how you got to the 230 seconds, at max stacks of Dying light (33%) with 4 stacks thana (22%) plus pentimento (30%) that would be 90 seconds + 30 seconds + 20 seconds + 27 seconds = 167 seconds
--> but this is honestly irrelevant since at this point you have 11 hooks and have basically won.
The thing is the math works different as far as I remember and also from what I saw during my tests. You don't increase the time gens take directly, you lower the charges per survivor. Since you need 90 charges to finish a gen now, reducing the charges from 1c/s to less than 0.25c/s at max stacks (76% slowdown), results in multiplying the time it takes to finish a gen by more than 4 since you need more than 4 times the charges, so gens go from 90s to 375s. Funny enough if you stack absolutely everything perfectly and have one survivor affected with gift of pain, that one survivor can end up doing a gen for I kid you not 666.66666....7 seconds.
I agree though, Deadlocked is a very nice perk to reduce the situations where multiple gens pop and it does indeed synergize well with her ultra rare.
The reason I recommend Dying Light over that though is because having slowdown over 50% exponentially increases the value of each % of slowdown you have past it, since for example 5.5% of thana by itself is not the same increase as 5.5% when you already have 50% slowdown.
-
For Plague it might be worth it to replace Deadlocked with Dying Light, she usually doesn't care about the downside of Dying Light and even with just a modest 3 stacks in Dying Light, everyone but the Obssesion need to spend more than 43s longer on a gen with Thana and Pentimento included (from 187.5s to 230.7s), compared to not using Dying Light.
This increase only gets more extreme with each stack you get (just one more stack would make gens take 250s as an example). This also indirectly buffs the base gen kick, since those 2,25s that the survivors would need to work on a gen to undo the regression turn into 6,25s at 4 stacks, not a big increase but may make kicking a gen worth it where it otherwise wouldn't have.
-
I noticed that happening to me too, though I assume for me that happens because I generally go for 8 hooks during events and let survivors escape after so that everyone gets BP. Problem is that doing that is also lowering my MMR.
What I don't get is how I match with 900 hour survivors, let them escape after 8 hooks, THEN get 4000-6000 hour survivors and actually have to sweat for the 4k, just to go back to 500 hour survivors.

Who is it?
Why did you choose them?
How many hours d you think you have with them?
What percentile of killer do you think you are with that kller?
-Blight because I enjoy both his fast movement, flexibility in chases and as an extra, being able to be silly with slams.
-Probably around 700-800? Hard to tell but during his PTB/after his release I played him almost exclusively for a few months just because I enjoyed him so much.
-At one point I was the player with the 4. most Blighted Rush hits, although that number dropped a lot once I started to play other killers again and then took a break for a few months. Last time I checked I was currently in the top 70, although its been a few weeks.

Doesn't that just ensure you get sweatier and sweatier survivors? From what you're saying I don't understand why you would want that. Everyone keeps sweating for the 4k then gets frustrated about getting matched with survivors on the same win-at-all-costs wave length? Unless you're a god or they make too many mistakes, they will win at those levels. For those who like a challenge it's great, but if you're wanting easy game smashing out 4ks with MMR probably isn't gonna do it?
My experiences with MMR were super inconsistent on both sides regarding difficulty. I played 10 rounds of SoloQ and Killer and always checked the hours of survivors.
As a Survivor I won my first 7 matches, lost once and won the last two. In my very first match I had a survivor with 3200 hours and one with 4000 hours + a private account vs a plague that got no hooks till the very end and just gave up. 7th game was with one teammate having 4.9 (!) hours vs a bubba that only had franklins at level 1 and only got 2 hooks. 8th game was vs a Nurse that got 5 hooks during the entire game and ended up getting me with noed when I blessed in her face for the event rift and I ended up dying on first hook. Last two games went back to 2500+ hour survivors and the killer ending up with 1k's each.
Games generally ended with a 3k + hatch as a killer, unless I had challenges that required me to kill a certain amount of Survivors. Survivor hours varied between 150 hours and 3800 hours, although they again didn't scale with wins but seemed rather random. If I remember correctly I had a team with an average of 400 hours in one of the last 3 games while having a team with an average of 3k hours in one of the earlier ones.
So far it almost seems completely random to me, especially since giving hatch shouldn't deduct any of my MMR.
-
BBQ is the only information perk that I ever run on my standard builds and even then its only for the Bloodpoints since it's easy enough to tell where most survivors are after hooking (although sometimes it does help when I would have otherwise been wrong).

If you play a new killer. But survivors and killers you have played a lot don't need placement matches... They have the datas.
I would really hope that they still require at least some placement matches, otherwise this system is quite questionable. It matched me with a group that had at least 4.5k hours each as a survivor and as a killer against a group that had 500 hours max, and I have more hours as a killer.
-
Honestly on one hand that number is pretty big and with the games current RNG really hard to achieve, on the other hand this is with a full build on a killer that many don't know how to fight (although surely there were also quite a few groups who knew at least the basics). She is also probably one of the best killers (I wouldn't know since I suck as her) and most indoor maps are REALLY good for her as emergency "easy" mode maps. I think if a relatively "easy" 50 win streak with no perks is possible, then that MIGHT also be possible, even if VERY unlikely.

I didn't know that. However, I did know you can also use a flashlight to test if she's phasing or not. If there's no sound of blinding, she's phasing. I didn't include not reacting to it because Lightborn exists. Even with Lightborn, the sound of blinding is still there just no actual blind. A phasing Spirit however, you won't hear that sound.
Cool info regardless though.
A thing that you can do as a Spirit is to semi look at the ground, you can still see the survivors but they can't blind you and no blinding sound plays. They will try to blind you, see that you can't be blinded/the sound doesn't play and vault into you.
-
If its for speedrunning purposes and the survivors purposefully kill themselves I would say Pyramidhead, since he can both hit all 4 at once with his power and saves a TON of time by just tormenting and caging them instead of carrying everyone to the hook.
-
I didn't count the games, but from the release of Blight till around January I had yet to loose a single game while maining him and playing him daily. Some of them were with meta perks and pre nerf undying, some of them were with only BBQ/Infectious and the games where I did start losing were completely perkless. My highest actually recorded win-streaks (as in 4k/3k with hatch) were I think 50 with bbq/infectious only and 30 perkless before I reached my goals and stopped counting.
On the survivor side its a lot less impressive, I think my highest streak was around 15-25 gate escapes in a row, although this was done in SoloQ.
-
On the killer side Nemesis has 171 and Blight 70
On the survivor side Claudette has only 21 since I was mostly just playing her during the event and used up a ton.
-
Do everything I can to guarantee they die, if it was game throwing tiers of sandbagging/farming then I farm with everyone else after killing them to rub salt in their wound. Karma is sweet.

As someone who plays Blight constantly.
Not being able to use your power if you get stunned during it is the absolute worst. Especially during CRUCIAL moments during a match. The way to fix it is to M1 again but that would just make you lose the chase.
Also hitboxes.
FREAKING HITBOXES!
I can't list how many times Ormond and Red Forest has cucked me with freaking hitboxes.
A little tip if you don't know already, you can also press m1 and m2 at the same time, this makes your rush work again without wasting your time swinging your cane around the air like a grumpy old man.

Toxic players are good players, they have skill to back up there arrogance and assertiveness. How many times you do you rrally catch the annoying survivor out of the 4? Me, barely ever.
That isn't always the case, just because someone feels confident doesn't mean they are good.
I had plenty of times where I tried to take aggro from my teammates in Solo Q, only to not last nearly as long as expected. Same on the killer side, can't even count the times people teabagged and/or went clicky clicky to grab my attention, only for them to go down in the next 15s.
-
Tracking seems to be my biggest weakness as a killer, it's not terrible but could be WAY WAY better. As a Blight I should sometimes just m1 when the hit is guaranteed instead of being permanently in a lethal rush as soon as the cooldown is over.
As a survivor I should learn to be less greedy on certain loops and learn to play certain tiles better. I love to greed pallets/windows even if it is not needed, which sometimes leads to avoidable hits.
Something that affects both sides is my crappy internal clock. I can estimate gen progress as a killer but usually less so as a survivor and certain perks that can be waited out usually make me waste time by making me wait extra long, just to be sure.

@Laluzi said:
Situation #1 is correct (though I think it's 20%, not 25%?); situation 2 doesn't seem right. When a killer drops you, when they pick you up again, you should be where you were at previously +20%. If you've been picked up and then downed again, your wiggle counter is reset, but if you didn't change health states, it should have remained and it's weird that you lost your progress. To my understanding, wiggle only decays when you're being carried, and it doesn't decay that rapidly regardless.
For situation #1, the bonus progression is added before you drop the survivor, so if they were already at or above 80(?)%, they pop free as if they'd wiggled off; otherwise it drops them as normal but with the added progress. You can pick a survivor back up by yourself with no input from them at all by picking them up and dropping them 5-6 times.
Wiggle progress actually does also regress while slugged, although at a very slow rate.
The actual regression speed could be bugged though, if the OP didn't exaggerate the regression.
-
As others have said you don't really have to play nice, it is up to you to decide if you want to do so but if it doesn't hurt your fun/bloodpoints/win chance, why not make it more enjoyable for everyone?.
I personally also base my playstyle as a killer on the survivors, if I notice that the survivors are obviously struggling then why not give them a chance so everyone can earn more BP, same if they play nice. If they can keep up then we both can give our all. On the other hand, if the survivors try to be toxic for no reason but to annoy you, then there is also no reason to play nice so just do what you need to win.

I haven't actually run into any farmers at all in this event so far at red ranks.
I think most people just want to play normally.
However I have noticed that survivors have been going out of their way to be extra annoying this event but I tend to be a troll magnet so meh.
I did get a farming demo once yesterday, but other than that everything feels the same on the survivor side.
As a killer on the other hand I noticed a lot of last second key switches. Maybe its just me being (un)lucky. Other than those groups I usually go afk after playing normal and getting 2 hooks on everyone if 3+ cakes are in play so that everyone gets decent points and/or crowns though.
-
Probably Blight. While I would say that I am good with all killers and win most of my games (except Trap-Based killers, I suck big time as them and I am kinda meh as a ranged or stealth killer), Blight just clicked with me since the PTB and I have enough confidence with him to even play without perks and win almost all of my games. I think I have only ever lost 3 or 4 games while having no perks. Trapper or Deathslinger on the other hand are the exact opposite and I play like someone with 10 hours.
-
Either Speed Limiter + Iridescent Flesh on Bubba for the "Slightly worse Bubba" Build or double rush-speed Add-ons on Blight with BBQ for Sniper Blight.
You slam 4 times into a wall next to the hook and rush at Mach 10 towards survivors that you saw via BBQ, jumpscaring the hell out of them.
-
I am one of those blights that go to both extremes, most of the time I play Add-On less with no perks for the challenge, but when I just want some chill games I run Ruin/Undying/Infectious/BBQ with either double speed Add-Ons for fun snipe games or Alchemist Ring+Compound 33 for "I just want to speedrun this Archive Challenge" games.
-
My very first game was a Survivor one with 3 other friends on an Azarovs map vs a Wraith.... my only memory was somehow getting stuck inside a gen with me not being able to leave and the wraith not being able to hit me, so I had to DC (this was around the release of the Doctor chapter, so no EGC).
Fun times!
-
Yeah I hook traded in the EGC with the Nemesis being nearby, was fine with dying but still tried to get to the exit gate. Halfway there a Zombie was a little bit off my path and I just went for it, which barely gave me the distance needed to escape. The zombies must have been survivors before they died, still trying to help their friends even after their death.
-
For me Claudette is the lonely Survivor member of the P3 Club, surrounded by all killers... the club seems very killer biased tbh, truly an unjust world.
-
Yep, I have a hoarding problem.
Only ever bought original Chapters, with the exceptions of a Spirit skin that I liked, True Blight (before the discount sadly) + all the other skins after the discount last year.
-
I slug them and leave them, in hopes that they will at least try to participate afterwards, if they get picked up and start wasting resources and/or run back at me again I just kill them.
-
My top 3 were:
- Nurse with 1000 points
- Plague with 1000 points
- Blight with 975 points
Quite interesting, Nurse and Blight make perfect sense with me preferring stronger killers to weaker ones (unless those weak killers are just very fun) and killers that have a lot of depth to them and you can always improve, even if it takes a while to master them. Plague is the odd one out, since I don't like her gameplay all that much but I suppose she is stronger than most people give her credit for and she also has a lot of depth to her, I just suck with most projectiles.
-
Its a mixed bag, I have yet to not get a 4k or 3k + hatch with him and could conclude that he is top tier, but since its only the PTB you can't really tell how strong a killer is just from escapes/kills. On one hand you have survivors just messing around trying new stuff, thus not doing gens like in a normal match, but on the other hand you have survivors/killers running strong add-ons every game (just had a match with 2 BNP and a key), since they otherwise would be "wasted".
So far he looks to be around high mid-tier or maybe low high-tier to me, but that can change once the killers get better with his tentacle strikes/learn to use the zombies better and survivors learn how to counterplay him.

"I know where to take the chase so my teammates can work on gens." Same. I might not be the best in chases but I do have common sense to keep the killer away from gens my team is working on. I'll take it as far as I can away. What I'm repaid with however, is Claudette who hasn't even been hooked once finally gets in a chase and brings the killer literally right by me on the gen who is on death hook. 🙃
Yeah, I always die a little bit on the inside whenever a gen is almost done and somebody runs the killer to me while ruin is up. To be fair, sometimes it just happens if you don't run bond, can't blame them, but I also had people with bond beeline it to me too, which was a lot of fun.

i'm still in the middle of it, only moved left and right
That was your problem actually, the open hatch can be blocked by standing on it, but once the hatch is closed the area where you can use keys is not actually on top of it but instead in front of the hatch on the side with the handle. Just imagine a second invisible hatch in front of the actual hatch, so you can block keys without even touching the hatch.
-
As a Survivor... maybe Rank 3-5? I almost only play Solo Q and know how every mechanic works and most strats but sometimes my brain shuts off for no reason and I go down in the dumbest of ways. Most of the time I do fine though and know how to counter mindgames and where to take chases so that my team can either work on gens or the killer has to leave me but not enough to come close to being a "real" rank 1.
As a Killer it mostly depends on the type of Killer that I am playing. As a Trapper/Hag I would see myself rank 10-12 since I am good at m1 chases but suck at trap placement for the most part, but as Blight and some other killers I would probably be rank 1, since I am confident enough to play perkless and I also literally couldn't find a game in 2 hours while SBMM was tested.
-
Solo Mettle of Mither plays are always fun (although I do feel bad for my teammates when it doesn't work out) but one of my favorites is winning as Rulebook Blight (no perks, after a hook always go to the other side of the map, even if people are hook rushing/running into you while you leave and never hit anyone on the way there + never hit the last two unhooked survivors.. I still got called tunneler/camper one game which was the best part).
Another fun challenge was power only blight with no perks, you can only ever move with your rush, unless you pick someone up to hook them.
-
I am a 60/40 killer main and always say gg and if possible try to go for 12 hook games, although I do like to fuel the flames if I notice that the killer/survivors are being toxic/unreasonably salty in endgame chat after a gg, mostly since I can't take them seriously at that point.
I do have every killer maxed out at p3 with all perks(and the grind gets more and more annoying as more killers with more perks release), but only have my main survivor at p3 all perks, since survivors are just skins for me and I can't be bothered to invest more points for skins.
I only really get tilted by bugs, but even then it doesn't affect my behaviour and gameplay too much. BM from either side doesn't bother me at all.
I am unreasonably stingy with my Iridescent shards (only ever spend money on the first battlepass). I am sitting at 160k shards and mostly just buy unlicensed killers/survivors with them, although I did buy the true blight skin (before it got its discount sadly) and all the other halloween skins after the discount + the oni inspired spirit skin.
