Okay, here: you tinting this whole line of questioning by implying survivors get to dictate the direction of things because they're the majority is soaked in bias. In my observations, despite killer-only players being extremely loud, they're also very rare. Most people play the whole game. So it isn't survivors vs killers as much as you want it to be. Many killer-players also like 2v8 because it's the only time they can play killer with a friend. "But content creators" isn't a reason to stop something. I don't like 2v8 or what it does to the 1v4 matchmaking, but it's here because many regular, normal, average, casual players enjoy it and they absolutely should trump the desires of killer-onlys and content creators.
Still doesn't answer anything I'm asking, but appreciate the more in depth input.

again doesnt matter about x2 x3 bp when its 1v4. when killers are ruining their experience. casual players choose 2v8 for a reason and its fun especially for killer when we sitting on a 5-15minute queue
Blood hunt events can be active during 2v8, so that point is also invalid, why was that not throughout the whole event, furthermore why was the last one not X2 or X3 to keep people playing. Even if people hate 1v4 over 2v8, I guarantee nobody is voting no to a Blood Hunt extension. I just don't understand the inconsistency of extensions I guess, when using a popularity metric that isn't be applied across the board in the same way.
-
If this is the case, from a business standpoint.
1) Why isn't it permanent or 2) Why is it not the base mode and remove 1v4 -
Asking for clarity on how decisions are made, and if the metric they used is accurate and if any consideration is made on how it affects killer players, is not complaining. Holy F.
I'm glad the 2v8 exists and people get to enjoy it.
And yes I have actually uninstalled, but I'm also curious, and wanted an actual constructive answer that gives insight to my questions, which anyone of you have yet to provide. My bad thinking the forums would actually have a discussion and provide intelligent and valuable feedback to my curiosity. Instead of 'cope, L OP' -

it is no big secret now that the casual players are the ones who spend more money too, especially how 70% want an extention, not hard to assume that is the casual players. the "dedicated try hards" dont spend money always boasting how bad the game is and no longer supporting so on so on.
Ya'll seem to think this is some hate on 2v8 when I'm asking question surrounded their decisions to extend this vs not on others. Casuals spend money and dictate events being extending, sure lets roll with that thesis.
So why was the blood hunt we just had not extended, why is blood moon event not extended, why was the ani event not extended, etc…
If you're going to use a metric to justify extensions, at least be consistent. -

Don't have to consistently do it. Majority isn't consistent either. That's why i used the word "usually" in my original post. I mean your the one that has to come to terms with it. Not me. Enjoy that journey.
I've uninstalled so I don't actually care, and unless your name was Mandy, wasn't asking for a response or your input anyway. So enjoy the journey coming to terms with that.

It's the way decisions are made all around the world. Rigged or otherwise. Everyone is different. Acceptance comes much later for some than others, but it always comes.
Like I just edited, they don't consistently use 'majority rules' so that point is completely invalid in this discussion.
-
@thrive2survive said:
Whether you frequent forum members like it or not, the majority usually rules all.
Shouldn't be the way decisions are made in a ASYMETRICAL game when said decisions adversely affect the minority role in a community of us vs thems. Even so, this clearly isn't the case when other popular event modes have never been extended.

@Rokku_Rorru said:
I mean sorry, but when it comes to the "metrics" killer queues are slow anyways, why would stopping 2v8 have anything to do with that.
Killer queues are not usually slow when the mode isn't here, even with two 1v4 modes, the queue times aren't super effected. When 2v8 is here it's a 500%-3000% increase in queue times.
It makes killer queue times go from <1min to 5-15 minutes depending on region and how long the mode has been out for, that is for 1v4. Makes killer content creation very hard in terms of retaining viewers, as you are just sat in a queue creating a lot of dead air moments gameplay wise.
Queue times in 2v8 are 30 minutes, making the mode damn near unplayable if you have a life and can't sit at your desk for 2 hours to have a few games of DBD.
I 100% understand its a popular mode, and love that survivors get to enjoy it, but I think also understanding how it affects killer players should be considered and at least keep the 2v8 event to a consistent 2 week event ( I would prefer shorter, but I get its popular) with no extensions. -
Did you even read the post

Genuinely should of just kill switched her and refunded people for points invested. Cause sadly that's a better decision that whatever lazy balancing this is.
-
I am being so serious, whatever dev is responsible for the balancing on this patch needs firing and hire someone who actually plays the game and has knowledge and the ability to test things.
-
They legit just need to take the L and admit they ######### up Skull Merchant and just refund us, cause what the #########.

When the killer slugs for the 4k, I roll my eyes. I then proceed to crawl into a corner or as far away from the slug point so they waste more time trying to find me. You need it so bad? Work harder for it. Plus it gives me a little side quest so I'm not bored out of my mind. We both would have been on to next match if you killed me already. I'm petty
You're just as bad as the killer going for the 4k. 4k actually makes the game shorter overall. Say he slugs you, goes for other survivor, hooks them, comes back hooks you.
OR
He hooks you, other survivor rats out, he then searches for hatch, closes it, patrols doors for the entire timer just for last survivor to be doing totems and chests and then die to the timer.
If anything you crawling to a corner is extending the game for the other two lmao.
Slugging for the 4k overall is quicker for the killer player as it completely avoids end game. -

lately, the absolute worst games of dbd have been games that end up in a 2v1 situation.
after two survivors are dead, and you have two survivors alive with a killer. all three people in this situation want to win, so what is the best option for each?
for the survivors, it's to wait for your teammate to die. for the killer, it's to keep patrolling the generators to make sure they don't get done.
the objective of the survivor team has changed, and now the killer has no information and almost no relevance to the actual game at hand any more. the killer has nothing to do and no information to act upon unless they either have a perk to help them or one of the survivors gives up.
and then, when one of the survivors actually is downed… well, if you kill that survivor, the hatch will spawn and the last one might get out. so for as long as there is one survivor on the floor, the remaining survivor and the killer are playing the same game: hide and seek. except there's someone on the floor, having been taken hostage.
a lot of developer time was spent dealing with things like camping and tunnelling. but when will the developers start considering the problem of the 2v1 situation? when the priorities of the survivors shift, and the game becomes extremely boring?
what would you do to address this, if you were a developer?
i think i would make it so that, in the 2v1 situation, the survivors start to build up idle crows any time they aren't on a generator, and putting one of the survivors into the dying state immediately triggers the mori animation on that survivor.
i would then adjust all achievements and archives that require 4 kills to only require 3 kills.
no more hide and seek, please. no more slugging for the 4k, please. i want to play the video game and i cannot stand it when i am taken hostage by survivors that don't want to show themselves, or by killers that don't want to give up their 4k.
Literally only one solution to this which has been present in other asyms. As survivors die, remaining survivors get gen speed boosts. 50% gen speed boost when 2 are dead. Would make completing remaining gens less daunting.
Only Reason last 2 give up and rat is because there's not enough resources left at that point to complete a full gen solo (90s) and the other person in chase last the entire time and then make it to a door after other has opened, so whoever is found first is essentially dead regardless.
This also then can end up with whoever is found first being used to nark on the other hiding survivor and create a teaming scenario (against ToS) or being slugged on the ground / held hostage till other is found. -

The problem isn't weave attunement, it's the combination with franklins that is the issue.
Multiple soloutions:
1) Make weave attunement only work on FULLY depleted items
2) Bring back old franklins so items disappear eventually and WA's value is finite now that secondary items no longer interact with franklins.
3) Make it so WA only works on items dropped by depletion through the perk itself
4) Make items on floor visible to people within its aura range, so they can pick it up
Nerfing weave's aura range or duration will send it straight to the dumpster. Weave on it's own is trash, its franklins that is the issue. -
I prefer ruin and surge atm.

Farming isn't bannable so this is almost certainly fine.
The only way this would be bannable is if you did somehow get into their game and they bled you out. Being targeted for not farming is a bannable thing.
I doubt a Mod will go any deeper then that if they do give a response. They tend to leave things in the gray area for the most part to keep people from riding the line.
I did stumble into their games, because all I did was have to turn crossplay off as i'm in OCE and it sent me there. So you can 100% just stumble into them.
So yes it needs to be addressed. -
@BbQz said:
That sounds epic and don't see how it would be against TOS it's not using game altering code or program.
'Teaming with the opposite side to gain an advantage'
Would probably fall under that clause considering they slug and bleed people out if they don't play along. Plus this is a question for an official stance on it. Really wish people would read posts fully. -
@Aven_Fallen said:
Why is that important? It is just Bloodpoints, after all. The people dont get any competitive advantage and they hurt nobody.
If you stumble into their games you get slugged and bled out if you don't bring the correct things. Also, read question 3 in my post.

Whats a farm server?
There's a server that by turning off crossplay and going somewhere specific server wise, they have a specific set of rules to max BP categories ASAP and each person leaves every game with 500k BP. If you don't follow the farm rules, you get slugged and bled out. Hens also made a video on it.
-
You literally get told that your aura is visible, go find the item and pick it up, drop it in a corner. Perk countered. Survivors really never want to learn or do anything in this game do they.

T bagging on top of hatch is never not funny to me as a killer. Like I literally let you have the chance to escape. You gloating you found it is so cringe when I could of just chose to slug for the 4k and kill you.
You'll probably find way more slug for 4k games when mori finisher gets added. -

Many changes have been introduced to combat all this, but ironically before all these measures were introduced, games were healthier.
It has been warned countless times that the current direction of the game leads to an increase in all of this behaviors. But hey, nerfs to weaker killers and nerfs to all kinds of generator defense are still applauded each patch...
Precisely now we have a game modifier that shows how bad the balance actually is. Everyone tunneling off the bat because the impact of the killer perks is much higher.
Maybe they thought that the killers would stop wanting to win or something. They should be thanked for the increase of toxicity.
I make this point in my post.
I do not blame killers for using what is available to them to win, but I'm not an us vs them person. I can see why killers do it but also see how unhealthy it is for the game.
They need to give survivors way more stuff at base to discourage the BHVR or defend against it, but also address why killers are so reliant on these tactics (Gen speeds/repair perk/toolboxes) For example I think base kit corrupt would be incredibly healthy to slow down the start of the game for killers.
I'm just tired of the devs doing nothing despite the CONSTANT complaints literally every damn day. -

This community is no different than any other, it's the game that is different. Yes, toxicity will breed toxicity, and the devs actively decide against taking away this aspect of the game. They surely know how maddening it can be to go against a 4man with sabo builds, and yet here they are, buffing sabo builds. When you get treated like crap by the other team, you will want to retaliate, and DbD community no different in this regard than any other. So up to now it's how the game has been designed: both sides have ways to ruin all the fun for the other side, and the spiral will continue. And I'm saying it all not as a "killer main", since I always play the role that gives +100% bp at the moment, so I've seen it from both sides. If the devs wanted to stop this toxicity contest - they would just remove flashlights, sabo builds, hook denial builds, head on and so on, and force survivors to play without mocking the killer, and then address the issue of tunneling and all kinds of BM from the killer side, but all of this is the opposite of what the devs seem to wish from their game. You could repeat the mantra of "it's part of the game so it's okay", but everyone knows why players usually use these builds and tactics and how it makes the other side feel. When you lose your hard-earned hook to a bully squad with buffed sabo builds, you will feel the wish to retaliate one way or another: you were intentionally annoyed, so you will want to return the favor. And any other game community would behave the same given the same conjuncture, it's just that all other game development companies usually avoid allowing players openly make each other feel miserable by in-game means, so it's BHVR and DbD who are unique here, not the community.
I see what you're saying 100%. But tunneling / camping / slugging totally removes the ability to play the game for the survivor. Sabo/Flashlight (even though I hate them) is a healthy game play element and doesn't shut down the killer's ability to stay in the game and play.
And the killer BM i'm specifically referring to is bleeding people out for 4 minutes and holding them hostage. Survivors have nowhere near anything on a similar level to BM the killer.
The latter 100% needs to be addressed. In regards to the former, The solution is a huge mechanic shift which probs won't happen so BHVR just needs to give survivors more stuff at base to counter these strats. I'm a huge advocate for basekit UB. I think BT should be 30 seconds. Make camp meter a visible UI element. DS should be both hooks etc…
So many many things could be done but they just let the us vs them continue, just bored of the community constantly making killers feel ######### for just using whats available and effective if they choose to. When the real problem is the devs not addressing it if its such an issue.
Over time they clearly think it is as well to some degree with the anti face camp feature and basekit BT and the testing of basekit UB -
The way some of you haven't even read the full post is so funny.
-
Literally mentioned why I understand killers do the above as I am a killer main. DBD community challenge to not turn this into an us vs them discussion: impossible,
-
@Junylar said:
Meanwhile: flashlights, flashbangs, blast mines, head-on, boil over + breakout, sabo, pallet saves and teabagging exist, not to mention OTR and basekit BT used for bodyblocking. So until all of this is removed, what you described should stay as some kind of retaliation killers can have.
I'm literally a killer main and literally address why killers do it. So maybe read the post first instead of making it us vs them.
