  • Guys, this is simply them testing the waters. The same waters they have been giving their consumers for quite some time now. Their spokesmen defend the decisions being made, regardless of what the player base thinks. Their attitude is "if you don't like it, play another game". Saddens me because this game had the potential to be GREAT! Oh well. Life goes on.

  • @csandman1977 I tried about 5 games as survivor last night. It wasn't too bad. I woke up and played a killer match.... if only bhvr let us upload vids....#feelsbadman

Yes, mishaps happened before, but we had a choice to play on the displayed ping. It's more frustrating when I'm looking at good latency displays, yet the gameplay doesn't correspond.

  • Idk what servers YOU guys are playing on, but EVERYONE in my circle has stopped playing. Survivor side is frustrating because the hits that land are questionable. As the killer, hits become whiffs and the nurse travels 2 feet with a fully charged blink. Who cares though? The devs are forcing it on us anyway. In reality, they're just forcing us to play other games. 🤷‍♂️

Giving them competition might actually force them to make the game better. Hopefully lol

I hope so. Cause I love dbd. Flaws and all. I threaten to quit and still play 😒

  • Lmao. I hear you. It's just the start, you know? Me personally, I REALLY want the one from the KING of asymmetrical games! It's been a long time coming and it's FINALLY a thing. I hope dbd fix things before that drops.... cause BOY! 🔥🔥🔥

Let's see what the asymmetrical gaming landscape looks like in a month or two and then we can have this discussion.

It's too early right now and everyone is in the honeymoon phase of new game bliss.

It's bigger than just a month or two. Change is coming. There's just one game that was released and they're panicking with the newest update. There's 2 or 3 promising games lined up that pose bigger threats than the one that was just released. The time for them to fix things is now, but they waited so long that idk..... I'll definitely be curious to see what happens in the future though. I hope to see dbd still breathing.

The game is far from being as imbalanced as the people on the forum exclaim it to be, a lot of the people here are just terrible players, honestly.

I'll agree that some people over exaggerate it and it's not ALWAYS as bad, BUT for the times that it actually IS, is what I speak of. The extent of the issues are undeniable and the fact that they are finally adjusting certain things mean they actually care, to some extent now.

Ok you want to be pedantic. That's fine. You're correct there's is no official written statement that calls any of the characters created specifically for this game original. But that is what is meant when the Dbd community refers to them as original characters. They are referring to characters that the creative team made up for this game, as opposed to the ones created in movies and TV shows that Bhvr got permission to put into the game. Hence the labeling of original and licensed.

I know this is all information you already know. But for some reason you seem intent on trying to make a simple discussion unnecessarily complicated and pedantic.

Pedantic? I'll take that as a compliment? I simply like to prove what I speak of. If I'm wrong, I'll admit to it. As I said, yes, in a creative sense, you're right. However, your friend @lazerlight? That guy.... or girl.... or whatever they are..... could use a bit of help. The way they responded made me want to go in about the situation lol. I LOVE to debate. You were simply a part of the crossfire. I knew what you meant as well, but I HAD to stand up lol. You feel me?

So what would you call every character after the nurse and Nea? "New Characters"??? You're being childish. You know very well what we mean when we say original characters. Which every character, dlc or not, IS one. If you dont have anything that can constructively support or refute the initial topic of this post then move along to something else that you actually care about.

The Nurse and Nea were also added LATER, therefore eliminating them from the list of original characters. As a result to me stating facts, you resort to calling me names as an attempt to insult me? Yet I'm the childish one? 😂 Even your friend @Dwight_Fairfield acknowledges the fact that, even in the sense they were speaking of, EVERY character is NOT original. So, what are YOU talking about? I rest my case, because you obviously can't debate or include facts with your statements. On a ending note, every one of the original characters have more cosmetics because they had (and still have) something about them that connects with people. Hence why you see more of them, giving the devs more incentive to create more cosmetics for them because they KNOW people will buy them. Your beloved Adam is simply not popular enough. It has nothing to do with not being original..... he just doesn't have the sauce! Lmao

In the context of this game original means a character that was created by Bhvr. In that sense Adam is an original character. Whereas the likes of Laurie, Tapp, Ash, Quentin, Steve etc are not original as they are licensed. Taken from movies/TV shows.

"In the context of this game"? Please show me this "Context". Nowhere in the in-game bio's, nor the dead by daylight wikipedia, nor the stream, xbox or playstation stores, do they specify that an original character is one that was created by them. Nor did the original poster indicate that was what they meant in the opening post. In the opening of the description of the dlc of this topic, Behaviour put: "The SHATTERED BLOODLINE chapter is a Chapter for Dead By Daylight and it includes a new Killer, a Survivor and a Map." So, in the C̶o̶n̶t̶e̶x̶t̶ creative sense that YOU speak of, yes Adam would be "Original", but that was not the definition that I am speaking of. "New" is not "Original" in this case.

  • I DID explain myself, BUT since you need EXTRA clarification, the definition of the word original is as follows:

    o·rig·i·nal

    /əˈrijənl/

    adjective

    1. 1.
    2. present or existing from the beginning; first or earliest.
    3. "the original owner of the house"

Adam, by definition, is not an Original Dead By Daylight survivor. Are we crystal now?

  • I've been waiting on someone to say it..... but no one has. So I'll say it. Adam is NOT "Original". I had to do it..... now carry on.

  • See the thing with the snares is the timing and the count. They're best used as you're about to begin a loop. Bait the survivor one way, placing two traps the opposite direction and reverse your original direction. Only thing is, they have to be sleep though.

*Side note*. Is it me, or is Freddy struggling against the red rank Swf squads? Guess we just gotta be happy that he is better than before 🤷‍♂️

  • @Ember_Hunter I agree. Currently he's ok. I just feel like he needs a bit of a push. Are the lower ranks already complaining?

  • Do you guys REALLY think ANYTHING the devs do to this game (in 2019) is UNINTENTIONAL!? They KNOW this game EXTREMELY well. I realized that after the "Supposed" Ash and Ghostface "Leaks". I'm confident enough to say, I believe the only thing(s) that may be accidental, would be the bugs / glitches, but even those are purposely added sometimes. Any so called "Change" that is made these days, was meant. Believe that.

  • @DudeDelicious I'll start this response by saying, I am not a killer main. Someone challenged me and I peeked in and stuck around to test his theories. Now to respond.

The problem is not REACHING red ranks. I've always been able to do this. Even when the ranking system was on steroids after the plagues release. I don't know what platform you're on, but I'm on xbox. There is NOT enough time to get the job done. Period.

It's too easy to break out of dream world. This is why they centered his perks around endgame. I get 31k - 32k pt games, but safety pip because I can only pull off 1k MAYBE 2k in the process. No camp, no tunnel.

  • See. I love the current build on freddy as well, but the problem is, he is not viable against red rank swf teams at all: Regardless of the add ons. The skill checks come up too quick and the survivors are guaranteed to intentionally miss them to avoid the speed penalty. The rework is a joke as well. No killer should need to depend on add ons to make them usable.

  • @BadMrFrosty I honestly think you SHOULD make one. Even if the devs don't acknowledge it, IMO it needs to be out there. Any killer who's even the slightest bit familiar with how powerful the toxic red rank swf teams are can see right though this garbage. I was sad at first, now I'm pissed. Someone told me, they'll NEVER make another nurse, or killer who can compete with her, because they're scared of the backlash they'd get from survivors. They'd much rather keep them happy, instead of making the killers as good as they DESERVE to be. I'm beginning to realize, not only was that true, but the sooner I stop waiting and holding my breath, the sooner I'll be able to stop getting mind tricked into the gimmick of the game. I love dbd, but I know why people walk away.
