  • A lot less. The overall quality of solo queue teammates has improved considerably.

  • When does MMR balance itself out? Approximately how many matches/losses does it take?

I've been playing Myers today for his daily and a few tome challenges, like hit survivors while they are exposed. I've been matched with really sweaty teams and good players since MMR went live and honestly I'm getting pretty tired of it. No matter which killer I choose. I have no problem admitting that I suck, but I would at least appreciate to be given a chance. Is that too much to ask?

  • Lol same. I cannot stand listening to him while in the queue, let alone in a match. I have misophonia to some degree and most of the sounds he makes trigger some intense discomfort for me

  • My friendly Ghostface build:

Discordance, Lethal Pursuer, BBQ, Brutal Strength.

Main goal is to find the survivors by running up to them while teabagging non-stop and go from there.

I think I've only played one serious match as Ghostie like ever.

Doc is my second go to with Distressing, BBQ, Thrill of the Hunt and Brutal Strength.

  • I can kind of relate to this, with the exception that playing either side has become unbearable recently...

As killer, it's toxic survivors smurfing with their friends with rank 15 alt accounts while the rest are red ranks. As solo survivor it's just as bad, many killers are playing the camping and tunneling game, lately with trickster who seems to be the best hook camper now. There are several DCs happening during most of my survivor matches.

Not to mention that RCPD map is horrendous to play on, esp as Blight, Oni and Nurse.

I just want to have fun again :(

  • all the 3 games I've played after the patch have been vs a face camping (or proxy camping) and tunneling trickster. He's the new bubba apparently, great camping power. No way you can get out without a trade at hook. Might be different as swf but as solo it's very unpleasant.

There have been DC-s each game. UGH

  • It's either stomp or get stomped for me so far.

First game - played Deathslinger (haven't played him much at all) vs rainbow ranks and the survivors had 2 newbies and 2 others knew what they were doing. Easy 4k

Second game - played Legion (have played them somewhat frequently) got stomped by 3 or 4 man SWF rainbow ranks. One guy was smurfing, rank 7 and 15 hours played on the account. They had a disgusting setup with cow tree into a window vault and there was nothing I could do. 1-2 hooks 4man escape. Haven't lost this hard in a while

  • Try ANNIVERSARYFRAGMENTS for the rift shards

  • Survivor: was rank 1, now rank 9

Killer: was rank 9, now rank 19

  • Have they changed the reset? I was reset 1 to 9 on survivor and killer from 9 to 19 :D

  • Another tip is to run tinkerer as well, just to be on the safe side.

I did it on first try as nurse, also used the addon that makes you undetectable for 16s on hit

  • I'd just like they add a female killer, haven't had one in a while (twins does not count for me). Bonus points if it's a vampire themed killer

  • My first was the one with Doctor and Feng. I bought it after playing just one survivor match :D no regretties

  • I get your point OP and play killer with a similar mindset.

Had a game just now on The Game as pig and was doing well. I could have finished the game with a 4k with 3 gens left and had last 2 survivors slugged. I picked one up and let them wiggle off and heal each other and finish the remaining gens. Turns out it was a rainbow ranks type of match...

I find this more fun than going full sweat every game no matter what. Each to their own I guess :)

  • Once. It was deserved and I fully admit tunneling. 3 gens popped during the first chase and I felt like I had to tunnel to recover. It worked out and I got my 4k :)

  • Solo survivor has been rougher than ever for me recently. The killers are sweatier and random teammates are worse than ever. Every second match there is someone who suicides on first hook and in teammates going down in 5 seconds.

And during prime time the matchmaking is putting me with rainbow teammates....

    yikes.png

I would que as killer but I'm not interested in matching with 3k hours sweatlords running SWF on comms. Actually, that might still be better than this s...show.

Honestly, im not having fun at this point and I'm only committing because I bought the premium pass

  • Iron Will - Borrowed Time - Dead Hard - Windows/Spine Chill (last slot is flex for me)

Also when running, if you run past a survivor who's next to you, hit the attack button and it unlocks the turning restriction, so you can usually hit people who are at a 90* angle to you. As the Oni raises his weapon, then you would turn the camera

Learning this helped a ton because I know I don't have to run straight at survivors any more, I can be off by a little bit and still get hits

Thank you so much for this! I will test that out ingame, but it truly seems to be the missing puzzle piece :)

  • Thanks for the tips, I'm using A and D to strafe but still running into walls like a dumbass :D

  • I'm extremely bored of playing killer normally or playing solo survivor just to get hard tunneled or camped. To balance it out, I'm playing as a friendly pig or nurse only now. Enjoy your free 4-man hatch escapes and get challenges done ezpz lemon squeezy. Gotta get those rift levels done somehow.

  • Twins and Ghostface. I mean I've tried ghostface out a bunch but I never do well with him. Guess I'm just not getting his playstyle.

Twins I haven't bought and I'm not ever planning to.

  • I honestly thought that something was wrong with my ping. I'm getting hit through every pallet or teleporting to the other side whenever I drop it and instantly getting hit anyway. Looping is impossible at this point, there is no way to determine if you will get hit or not.

Killer side is a bit better but I'm getting a lot of missed swings or autoaim messing with me - hitting rocks, barrels and whatnot.

The game is unplayable for me right now and I'm probably done with it

  • Already on a break since completing the rift, due to extreme burnout :)

I'd love to come back and enjoy the game again. Let's see how it turns out

  • Only Claudette is p3 all perks, for the achievemet. Not planning to prestige anyone else

  • I'm having similar experiences as the OP today.

I'm already quite burned out due to the rift grind and solo que is as horrible as ever. Ugh I just want to complete it and take a break for a while...

  • I've been in a similar situation a few times, when I've accidentally killed someone by losing count of their hookstates.

You should be fine, as long as you were not actively forcing someone to farm with you or weren't signling someone specific out.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Threats to report someone who did nothing wrong are very common.

    It's your ping

is 40-50 ping considered high? I'm usually around there

  • I've had more trouble with random teammates being mad. Here are the most bizarre ones:

    1. I said I will do totems before the match. I actually only did two and was chased for 3 gens and got the most points. They accused me of doing nothing the whole match.
    2. A random teammate got mad because I opened the gate.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't...

  • On.

I enjoy going against full console teams - even if I lose badly, they cannot BM in chat :D

  • Hate is a strong word... For me, only Spirit qualifies. Oh and any killer who hardcore tunnels from the beginning of the match.

    Tunneling Spirit is the worst

  • I completed it on Nurse, but there are probably other killers that aren't bugged and are easier to play

  • Another disappointment... they just keep on giving

  • I saw the banner for discounted cosmetics on the featured page, went to check and found no discounts. Restarted the game and the banner is gone now too.

    Lol, sus

  • I don't consider saying gg after a win bad manners. However it does leave a bit of a sour taste when one side stomps and then says gg first.

On that note however... I do not use the end game chat and keep it off at all times these days. There's very rarely anything good to be found there and honestly I'm just better off with no chat. Wish there was a way to indicate to others that I have chat turned off.

  • It depends... it's mostly "meh". When one or more DC early and the others are chill, I will just farm with the remaining survivors if they're up for it.

As survivor, I just feel sad and hopeless when there's a DC. Quite difficult to resist the urge to DC as well, when this happens early into the match. Most killers wont take it easy from there on and just want to end the game fast. Not blaming them but it just sucks all around.

It was an SWF. We had it out in postgame, and they explained it (while mocking me). Apparently they were doing it for a stream.

You can find several other threads today with the exact same pattern. Thanks to the current lack of DC penalties, it's easy for someone to deliberately drop their rank on an alt account to pull this off.

Yup. Also, these kinds of scummy tactics have been going on for a while now, noticed this esp when I was yellow-green as killer. I don't come across these smurf teams as killer anymore, due to being red ranks. There's never rank 13-20 survivors in my matches, swf or not.

I play mostly solo, but played a few games with a low rank friend last week...and guess what...we got killers that were close to their rank, instead of mine. It felt like I was bullying baby killers and it wasn't cool.

I wish bhvr would revert this change and match accordingly to the highest ranked survivor again

  • Could any of you share tips for indoor maps, like The Game and Lery's?

I've been playing nurse a lot lately and gotten better, to a point that I no longer dip below rank 4 when playing her, but indoor maps still cause a lot of trouble. Usually I'm able to score the first hit no problems, but after 2 blinks (and especially if I miss the hit afterwards) I get completely disoriented and lose them.

  • Head on stun time seems to be bugged too, lasted only about a second

  • I have one for Cheryl and Nea. Will not be buying any other locked sets, unless it's something so amazing that I can't resist.

I like mixing and matching and I do buy full sets of non-locked cosmetics.

  • I struggled a bit with the 'blind or lightburn the killer 5 times' challenge. That one took a lot more attempts than I'd hoped, probably like 20 matches LOL. Eventually I just went in with plunderer's and hoped to pick up a flashlight that way. If I tried to bring a flashlight to the match, the killers would play super smart and avoided the blinds well or were PH, Slinger, Huntress etc.

I'm still trying to complete the huntress challenge from previous tome - hit survivors 15 times with hatchets in one match... I'm very bad at huntress and it doesn't help that I'm red rank, I'm getting relentlessly bullied every time I try this :D

  • First couple of days were rough but then it balanced out and games felt pretty fair on both sides. Sure there were a few stomps on either side but nothing too crazy. Today it's back to max sweatiness and I'm not into that. Sad.

  • It's equally as dumb to play solo survivor now more than ever.

I'm rank one and matched with 3 grey ranks as teammates vs a rank 2 killer.

The poor baby survivors would hide all game, go down in seconds when found. The only gens getting done are the ones that I do myself.

I don't run self care or any self heals - it has been impossible to get my teammates to at least heal me. Multiple matches I spent a few minutes following a teammate around for healing.

I've played 15+ matches and its not getting any better

OH GOD PLS MAKE IT STOP

Streamers can provide objective video proof of their statements. Every person who came to the forum complaining about this was extremely hostile and admitted to having disconnected a lot more than they'd first let on. Finally, it's laughably common for people to say "I was punished for X, but I'm actually innocent, I swear!", so excuse us if we don't take those people at their word and need proof.

Absolutely, it would not make sense to just blindly believe everyone claiming they never d/c and suddenly face a lengthy penalty. But that doesn't make it okay to call them all liars and NOT consider the other possibilities. Esp with all the bugs (and hacks) happening daily.

I haven't had an issue with d/c penalty myself. peace out :)

  • @DrDeepwound said:

people have been making threads like this and being called liar, despite people knowing something is wrong.

People only care when it happens to a streamer.

    This.

Boggles my mind. Bugs can happen to anyone but apparently everyone that's not a popular streamer must be lying

  • I had the same exact thing happen to me too with wraith while trying to complete the same daily ritual (kill a person).

  • I play mostly only survivor these days and I'd have to say it's definitely survivors that are more toxic. I only switch to killer for challenges and dailies, so it's mostly 1 killer game per day and even that is enough to get tilted from the bullying and insults.

I'm not saying killers can't be toxic or scummy, but they're a minority.

  • About 5 out of 10 killer games played. I've started to play extremely close attention in the lobby (checking friend lists and whatnot), but sometimes that is not enough.

My latest game. 2 people got into lockers nearby whenever I entered fatigue. MANY head-on stuns and other shenanigans. Bruh I'm just trying to learn nurse here. Gotta love the rank 16 bait too.

  • Why would it be against the rules to mess around?

I do not want to play a serious sweaty match all the time, so I just pop some dumb perks on and run loops with the survivors without breaking the pallet. Often they catch on and we will be having a picnic between the trashcans on Badham Preschool. Or roleplaying as survivor, walking only nurse etc.

I wouldn't want to play this game if I had to be sUpeR SrS all the time. There are enough "normal" matches anyway and people seem to appreciate these silly ones for a change of pace. I know I do.

  • Using shroud of separation makes survivors rush gens extra hard because they'll think they're facing a mori. Dont use it unless you actually want an extra sweaty match
