NOED is by far the worst perk in the game and any killer who uses it is just so bad, you shouldn't be able to win because you couldn't confirm a kill the whole match. Survivors shouldn't be punished for actually doing a good job and getting to end game - will it ever be removed or changed?
also any killer mains who reply to this defending NOED your comment is being overlooked I don't associate with negative vibes
TOO LATE the negative energy has entered the thread
I'm a survivor main Bro seriously but I think NOED isn't bad. I've seen sooo many toxic survivors when I play killer either teabagging or doing nonsense like that, that there is a sick glee when you can catch them with NOED and just know they're going down.
Don't get me wrong it is frustrating AF when someone manages to catch you especially if you've played strong and done a lot of generators. But no where does it say "If you do all gens you win and killer must stop". I get your frustration but it doesn't need nerfed.

Any thoughts on my tier list?
I wouldn't have nurse so high. I find as a survivor as long as you track and watch her you see her boost and just jink direction. It takes a VERY skilled player to catch me with her and I am a basic survivor. The wraith needs pushed up. He's very strong. Yes delayed on uncloaking but again, as a survivor/wraith player, just clanging your bell near a gen can clear it of survivors, or you see the shimmer of the wraith and you're pushed to leave. I'd also push the pig down as even sneaking she is really easy to spot, so her dash is easy to dodge.
As a survivor actually I think killers - especially stealth killers - are really punished. So many perks remove or nerf killer perks and stealth abilities. It's slowly becoming less a game of wits. π Where once you played chess as a killer now you need to grab a mallet and try and smash all the pieces it feels π

Nope, I am with PigMainClaudette that playing with some basic respect is not asking too much. Everything in life has ettiquette attached to it and this is no different. When I play killer I adhere to just common decency because the survivors waited to get in that match same as me, they are trying to get points and pips same as me. And guess what I very rarely get any kind of blowback in post-chat regardless of the matches outcome.
I also do view killer as if I am hosting the party and survivors are my guests. Their enjoyment of the round is essentially in my hands, so this "it is not my responsibility to make sure someone else has fun" is a selfish and childish statement.
When I play survivor I do try to gauge how the killer is fairing and have and do give them a kill if it seems like it went real rough. I play with one other person about half the time and we have both given hooks to killers who were struggling. So my game-play is generally fairly altruistic to both sides.
@alaenyia not to completely disagree with you but I was put off playing killers for a long time, and still have my settings to block messages (PS4 albeit) precisely because I was getting VERY good with hag and wraith. But I was getting a lot of abuse every match. I win? I was (insert insult of choice) , I'd cheated, I had no skill etc etc. If I lost? I was even worse. Might as well no play, N00b, wasting peoples time even playing.
ο»ΏSurvivors can be toxic. Sometimes I had positive messages but it got so bad...
... π Saying that, using Wraith with Insidious really annoys people... Who knew quietly moving to a bottle neck, uncloaking and ambushing people was frowned upon... π

I understand the perspective tunneling is bad. But like the OP said this game is designed for hunt and kill. If you survive that's just a bonus really.
I do think killers complain a lot about stuff ie being baited. But it's no hard. If you have a survivor actively seeking you to teabag and lead you, ask yourself 'why?'. Usually it is a distraction. Ignore that. I leave them well alone, if they escape who cares. But usually you find that once you nail a couple team mates that individual panics because they're a one trick pony and can't do gens well at all. You get them in the end... π

@Rathoric actually a really cool idea however Xenomorph would require a lot like ability to climb walls. Plus premise was done with isolation which was good but slightly annoying too.
Think they should go classical. Like a Banshee. Have abilities like is she screams and your within a radius pattern you either get halo or terror status. Kind of. Mix between nurse and doctor.
Or a scarecrow. Make a map or model where random scarecrows are placed round the map, his perk can be like insidious. If he stays still he has no terror aura, but have a perk to counter like of you stare at him for x time he then shows as killer? It would slow down survivors too scanning for him amongst four or five others
... Or cujo... π

Itβs not their fault they only got one chance to play with the killer. How is that fun for them?
Well, to be fair, it's not at all fun for the killer to be played with. A good chase, sure, but there are a lot of survivors who just want to be as insulting as possible to the killer.
Agreed with. I play survivors a fair bit and it is a bit shocking how many survivors think it's fine to TB killers etc. It leads to. I'll feelings. I personally don't unless the killer has camped, played pourly and we still win. Then I abuse. But if they play fair and have had a bad game I just escape. No sense in breeding bad feeling for the next match

@ALostPuppy @AlexisFox @Brendan_12 not really a need to bring this us vs them up again. You can also say that survivors quite much expect easy counterplay against killers for 1v1, making the 4v1 totally unbalanced. This argumentation will never stop and we all know about that. This topic was basically just about the first 30 seconds of the game, the rest of the game doesn't matter to that.
@AlexisFox If you say "expect 4k every game" I think you refer to the video and that it turned out to be a 4k. But that was just because of potato survivors, if they continued with the same efficiency instead of crouching behind a rock to hide against Feral Frenzy and without the DC, the game would have turned out differently. Again, we are just talking about the first gen. No need to assume stuff and presume any statements
Same to @Brendan_12 , noone expects super easy play. Just less randomness that impacts the game with 20% loss of progress as kickoff. Better spawning points would not smash survivors in front of the killer, it would need the killer to pay attention to find survivors and survivors to make a decision to jump on a gen or play stealthy for at least 30 seconds to be not in chase instantly. That would be a more skillbased start of the game, rather than "I do gens, 50% of my matches it finishes because I got lucky" or "50% of my games I find the correct gen because I got lucky"
@Deadeye you may be right re spawns. However there are still perks that effect spawns - or rather not perks but bonuses. Would these too be removed then?
And regardless of what is introduced, either main survivors or main killers will kick off and get angsty because they feel they're been persecuted at some level or other I feel.

It sounds like you are saying that killers should be able to get 4 kills without a single gen popping. How would that even be remotely fair for every game to be expected to play out that way? In this clip we have 1, just 1 gen popping quickly which tells the killer several things. 1, the survivors spawned in that side of the map because they weren't on the side the killer checked. 2, they focused on that gen with multiple survivors stacking on it. Judging by the speed it would have been 3 or 4 survivors on it depending on how close they spawned next to it. That is a clear indication of where to go to start chasing the survivors without having to waste anymore time searching the corner the killer is in. Who really cares if the survivors popped 1 gen? The killer now knows where they ALL are. That could be the only one they get done the whole match now. This clip doesn't demonstrate any form of actual inherent problem in the game it only demonstrates an entitled killer trying to complain about how they couldn't be allowed to totally dominate in a single match on account of the survivors spawning close together on the opposite side of a map from the killer. People like this need to relax and realize it's just a game and it wont always go exactly the way you want it to.
Arguably the best comment I have ever read on these forums. I've said for a long time though it seems like not all but a large minority of killers won't be happy until there are no gens, or no exit gates. They don't want the challenge what they want is the fun of hunting and being untouchable - or having an inability to lose.

That's not the issue being discussed here. Discordance would've helped here but it's not a perk you seen ran often because as far as gen perks go in 2020 it's one of the worst, especially on a killer with no mobility like Legion. At the start of the match because of where they spawned they essentially had to make a 50/50 guess on where all the survivors spawned. They guessed wrong and lost a gen for it. How is that ok? This should never even have a chance to happen on any map and on temple and mother's dwelling it happens all the time. You might as well start the game with 3 gens remaining unless you're Billy, Nurse or Spirit.
So... Wait I am confused mate. So it's not OK that the killer has to make a 50/50 guess where survivors are, and can potentially be penalised by losing a gen if all the survivors smash it out? π I mean, what do you want, survivors to constantly glow with an aura, generators that reset if more than one has been completed, and a hunting rifle for the killer?

I mean if you think things like DS are a problem then whatever, but specifically regarding what you said about rank and Ruin, those are two things I see people complain about all the time that really honestly aren't that much of a problem. Sure it's not good that lower rank players get matched with higher rank ones, but if you're talking about like a rank 9 player going up against some ranks 4-2 or something, that's not a huge deal. I see people make a lot of posts about that, and they'll still end up killing like 3 of the survivors and still complain about it. I don't understand what the problem is, if you stand a chance to beat them, just because their rank is higher.
Feel free to address any of the points I made in my previous post, such as other killers being viable (like Nurse and Hag) or Ruin changing not being as much of a problem as just gen speed in general.
I think the drama is people come on looking to just hunt and kill players. Kind of like a manhunt game. They won't be happy until survivors have no exit gates and it basically hide and seek to death.
They rage on and on about hex ruin. At best it was a mild nuisance to half decent survivors, at worst a wasted slot. Didn't slow me down much, and since killers used it as such a crutch to cover their poorer hunt and chase skills it was usually easy to avoid them using very simple tricks and tactics.
I have yet to see five generators done in under three minutes. Maybe a generator done in under three sure. But that's if survivors double up on a generator. To which the perks killers get to counter that are pretty intense, and even going full pelt, youre still only getting two to three generators done. Still leaving another two.
In short there's no drama with the game so much, it's more typical of a newer generation of gamers. They want easy wins to show off. They watch twitch and YouTube players smash wins and think they should be able to as well, not realising have these players have invested a LOT of hours into getting good, understanding the mechanics, and still losing now and again.
These forums almost daily contain killers complaining. Sure, I would concede there may be an issue if all killers are complaining about the same thing. But I also would believe players who maybe are not that good read these comments and then assume that's why they're failing. Not because they lack skill but because the game 'must be broke/biased/unbalanced/survivor orientated/insert what ever excuse you want'. I play both sides but I have to say I see far more about sore killers than survivors on here.

Is there such a lack of killers on console that me? A level 8? Had to go against this level of inexperienced players? This is in no way fair for them. The ruin nerf didnt help new players. It killed off so many killers it did the exact opposite
Though it is good of you to point out the imbalance - as a mainly survivor player on console - I have got to say it doesn't really matter. Its a bit of fun. Also, think of the experience they're getting by playing off against you. It will give them an insight. And if they can't handle being hooked and killed, is this the game for them?

Only disagree with the Huntress. I don't know why or how, but I never seem to win against her bar the rare lucky episode. She's creepy, she throws hatches, she sings... She can gtf π

If survivors cant play the game without cheating on comms they shouldn't play at all i say bye to anybody that would quit we dont need cheats in this game
But wheres the cheating? Its not a cheat π. It's a chance to chat and socialise a bit is all. And sure you may talk about the killer, but it doesn't make a difference. With certain survivor perks on it doesn't matter what your mates feed you on voice chat, you'll already have the info you need. π I mean, unless the killer is a camper. Happens a lot. They get annoyed when you message your mates and say "He's a camper with no skill, so I'll keep him here, go smash some gens". π So I get why killers would complain at that maybe
-
I don't understand how having a party chat is "unfair advantage".
I play with friends a lot. Sure you can give each other a heads up. But in the way of "This killer is a camper and may be using insidious, don't come unhook me" or "I'm working on this generator at this location, want to get another" etc etc. Usually we just slag each other off π.
Even when we play non ranked against a friend, we still have chat open with who evers killer. It doesn't effect the game play, if anything it adds to the fun.
It's more the social aspect. And I'm sorry, but the second they get rid of chats they'll probably lose a lot of players as most like to socialise.
-
π Troll. π I do think on Halloween though if you have predominantly played killer throughout year you should be locked in to killers and vice versa. On Halloween they hide a single pistol with 4 rounds on the map. If the survivors can find it, they can kill the killer π
-
Agreed. There could be a better option, even like a series of keys on screen to hit. On console the x button gets mashed but I can't help but think as my fingers are shaking like a sh*tt*ng dog that A) it's burning my pad out and B) how am I meant to control my character now my thumbs numb π
-
I think the issue is a lot of toxic players and it's kind of apparent in here as well.
As a killer I'll happily leave a match with no kills if the survivors are good and they're not trolling. But if they start teabagging and the such I get annoyed.
Same if a killer hooks me I'm the first to say fair catch. But if a killer hooks me then camps right in front of me or loops me I do get frustrated.
So I get why both sides end up saying the other needs nerfed. Personally I do think the game errs towards killers. It used to be a bit more balanced with faster gens but now it is pretty ridiculous. But, it is a survival game. They're not mean to be easy. If you want to always survive, this isn't a game for you.
However, killers have to stop complaining about how hard they have it. If you only want to hunt and sacrifice with no chance of survival for opponents, find a different game. Elsewise accept at times people will outsmart and out manoeuvre you.
End of the day, it is just a game. I think gamers have far too much sway these days on devs, and think they have a god given right to alter the game for their own wants, and who cares about others.
-
And there was me being all daft thinking killers used their initiative... π
If a killer is willing to follow a survivor endlessly, they need to up their game I'm afraid. I enjoy playing both, but I have to say as a killer it's a very easy ride these days. But part of that is not falling for the hound and the hare attitude of "I've wounded them I'm gonna chase till I get them". Try and gauge your opponent. Double back on yourself. If you nerf much more stuff like this it's no longer a chance at survival it's basically "Hunt four players just to hook them".
