  • Agreed, it's disorienting and with hearing problems, straight up painful to play at times. Give us a mandatory minimum (like 30%) but let us adjust it. It's honestly an accessibility issue at this point, not just quality of life

  • Did no one read wjat they are commenting on? Or is this the biggest meme ever?

Just reduce the Killers base collision. Ez

    No. Just... No

  • Collision fading after something like 2 minutes without moving could work. For both killers and survivors. it isnt that easy to do but doable. Don't know why you both went there or didnt dc until when she grabbed you tho. But that's besides the poiht I guess

  • The delusioned entitlement of some survivors here is actually unbelievable... Bt, ds are weak now? SB should be ridiculously better even though it's one of the best perks in the game? And these ppl have the audacity to tell others to get better as they ask even bigger freebies?? Hello? Is this real life?

Of COURSE this should be fixed asap and/or disabled. If nurse could blink at will with no stun or cd, or noed be applied at any point b4 there even is a totem the same would apply ffs

I dont wanna ban them cause its not worth it i just wanna know why survivors wanna get salty over certain perk being used and when they are used on the weakest killer i just cant wrap my head around that

Don't you know? It's one of thousands different rules survivors decided for us for their convenience. Meanwhile they'll go 4 swf with every broken perk, item and loop milked to death and call you trash when 2 escape withva key lmao. Part of this community is disgusting, if you get messages through friend requests just report them imo. Maybe after a few suspensions from psn they learn.

(this is so appropriatte, hope it's against rules)

Honestly, It's sad that we need to be in private to play this game. I've recently gave up and done the same

  • I don't get it.. These perks are as good as monstrous shrine, if not worse
  • This is a great option for DS if you wanna  keep the original intent imo. Good job op

40h and only reached rank 10. 0 experience at high rank and you  think you have perspective to call someone bad?.. Cmon mate

40h in 2 year. I have 32h these past 2 weeks, you can minus 10-15hours of lobby so I made rank 20 to 10 in 15-20h. Furthermore, as I said, rank system means nothing. I had harder time at rank 14 thant 10 because you can match rank 1 nevermind the rank you are.

Saying it doesn't make it true. Sure there's a variety of skill between people in any one rank but it is very clearly different to play against rank 20s,10s or 1s. Specially from 10s to 1s...

Also, your broken math doesn't make you look any better or change the fact you  haven't experienced the highest play at all. All it says is that you haven't played much, or gotten very far, but you still think you know better.
  • Sorry for saying it that way but, don't you think you just suck at this game?

I'm survivor main with 700h and I just started playing killer main because there are too many campers from rank 20 to 1 and it's absolutly not fun. With something around 40h as a killer I already reached rank 10 (even if the rank system means nothing) and I still make a lot of mistakes. However, I have an average of 3 kills per match because most survivors suck more than I suck as a killer and, furthermore, they have been nerfing survivors for a year now. The only perks that remains good in any situations are Self Care and Decisive Strike who the nerf was already annonced.

If you don't agree (which I think you do) just look closely to the every patch since september 2017. Survivors lost instablind, flashlight save is really hard theses days, half the pallets were erased of each map (I don't think this balance is bad btw), we lost most of the infinites 2 weeks ago, the new pallets aren't safe (there is even a steam achievement for killers hitting survivors while they drop the pallet), Borrowed Time, the only anti-camp mechanic, was changed into "I take your place on the hook".

We can talk about the perks too. Since Decisive Strike, they never release a really good/interesting perk. If you thin about Deliverance and Autodiact. The first one has a tough condition and a major demerit, like most survivors perks and what didn't happen to any killer perk since they reworked shadowborn. The second one is RNG so it's kind of useless. Furthermore, Autodicact has been nerfed a month since its release but nobody plays it so who cares.

The nerf bloodlust was the best thing of this patch. After 2 years, BHVR admitted the nurse was a mistake (what everybody knows since her release) but they did nothing about it. They could have disabled her since they have balanced her but nope. Why is she a mistake? Because she ignored every single game mechanics. What's the match with bloodlust? Bloodlust 2 and 3 was making it possible for every killers to ignore pallets.

Some killers need reworks, some balance are needed for both side, but the problem is not as simple as "buff something" or "nerf this crap". The real problem is the poor vision of BHVR and their lack of audacity. They're trying to make it a competitive game but it's neither fun nor competitive. Dead by Daylight is just a bunch of egocentric killers and survivors asking for buff and crying after an easy game instead of learning. This game is dying for a year now and the only thing I hope for dead by daylight is a tough competition so they realize their mistake and they make dead by daylight a fair and fun game. Until this happens, I won't play survivor anymore because it's unfair, unfun and the lack of dedicated servers will be part of the death of this game for sure.

40h and only reached rank 10. 0 experience at high rank and you  think you have perspective to call someone bad?.. Cmon mate

I know this thread isn't directly about the Huntress and her hit boxes, but... just to show how bad the hitboxes are in the current iteration, here's a nice clip showing why: https://clips.twitch.tv/AthleticTolerantWoodcockANELE

At this rate I wish they'd just revert the hit box changes until they actually do the change properly and not halfass it like they did this patch. Even some of the most die-hard survivor mains think how weak and broken she is this patch is laughable and are taking pity on Huntress mains. I've literally had people killing themselves for me after opening the exit gates when playing Anna because they feel that bad after my hatchet went through them for the 12th time. I can't imagine reverting the change would be difficult or time consuming to do. Better than waiting multiple weeks for a fix with her this broken. Properly fixing her from this state WOULD take multiple weeks if not a couple months to do and that's just the hit boxes alone and not any of the other problems she has with the current state of the game.

Exactly! To make this change while changing the survivor hitboxes with no testing is absolutely ridiculous. I'm tired of survivor pitying me and letting themselves get downed or sending me messages after...

I did a post with my take on this, would like to know your opinion: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/21190/please-bhvr-please-about-huntress#latest

With regards to the Op, I agree with your  suggestion. She was already overrated imo, with no map control and terrible time management given her reload and overall speed. That would definitely be a way of putting her more on par on that

  • @Just_Clown1n_Around
Not sure how to feel about you generally calling everyone bad and then depending on ruin lol.

I do agree with you though. If you're struggling it has more to do with your ability.

Specially agree on the killers except saying someone is bad overall cause they can't use spirit... I'm great at spirit and most of the others but awful with Billy, doesn't make me a bad killer lol.

But yea, with the exception of Anna right now, every killer can do a decent job. They're just not for everyone. I think people will learn spirit is actually high tier soon. Specially after the buff

Exactly. They placed this change in less than a week so it really shouldn't be that hard. It's depressing having survivors pitying you every game, letting themselves die and messaging "poor you", etc..

I made a topic on my take on it a few days back, wondering what you'd think about it https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/21190/please-bhvr-please-about-huntress#latest

To the OP's suggestion I gotta say it's not a bad one at all, she really wasn't as strong as most made her out to be. without  any map control and poor time to execute cause of her speed and reload
  • @RagingCalm Appreciate it, did my best to explain the logic. Hag definitely depends on predictability and being one step ahead. Good traps with no logic between them doesn't really work well in my experience. Do you have much experience on Doc? I'd love to see a post on him in here.

@Serabeth90 I get the logic you're going for w tharanphobia but it doesn't really do much. At 2 it does less than failing a skill check. If you don't need ruin you should try my current build, it fits your style. Nurse's, sloppy, claurophobia and M&A. If you're really used to ruin I guess take out claurophobia for it. Tell me how it works for you
  • @Visionmaker You do know killers can only react though right? That it's survivors who decide what a killer does?

With the exception of straight up pointless facecamping (which is indeed countered by rushing - killer gets 1 and looses) everything else is always in the hands of the survivors.

Run after the killer, flashlight or bodyblock while he's carrying and you probably will have him patrolling the area until he sees you. Run, flashlight click and emote and the killer will know you're bait and someone else is around (so only 1 possibly on a Gen. Any Gen). Make sure the killer doesn't see anyone and have a Gen pop off and you'll just have to wait for him to go and leave the area...etc

Survivors are literally in control. And yes tunneling is just efficiency and a design issue. Killers don't have to avoid it just so you can have fun when most likely they're being ineffective and aren't having fun themselves, having finished one chase and only have 2 gens to go for example.

Be grateful when a killer cares about your enjoyment, not the other way around. And specially don't be toxic to the killers who are doing bad because they are going out of their way to avoid tunneling or camping. Even when they only keep finding the injured survivor... Don't tbag them, flash them obnoxiously, wait at the gates to waste time or message them.

You might just convert them to straight face campers. Just be grateful to those and there'll be more of us
  • @Kilmeran No problem. Meyers is a good fun choice as first killer. Hope you enjoy the game

@Ashkiin , Question. Being 45-years-old, I am really partial to Michael Myers as a horror killer. How is he for starting out? I'd watched a few videos on using his power, but is he a waste perk-wise?

Oh, and I do suck with chainsaws so far.

Meyers is great and a lot of fun! His perks aren't the best to unlock but you can definitely do some work with dying light and save the best for last. He's not a bad choice to level until you have a decent build (nothing crazy) and then use him to grind BP to level leatherface and unlock BBQ.

Trust me, not everyone was made for them. I gave up on  ever playing Billy
  • Kilmeran said:

Thanks for the advice so far guys.

I was going to do Dwight first for survivor, as I liked the team-oriented perks he started with, but it seems from responses that Claudette is the way to go. Fortunately, I only have six levels invested in Dwight, so no huge BP loss at this stage.

Seems the general consensus is Leatherface or Hag due to perks. I don't have anything really invested in killers yet. I was going to do Anna, but it seems I should go for those two and get their perks, first. I can live with that.

Had HybridPanda bookmarked already. Just did the same for Monto.

I'll watch some guide videos on Hag and Leatherface.

Honestly  Claudette's self care really is a must but dwught should definitely be your second imo. Either him or David King for dead hard and BP boost.

On the killer side leatherface's BBQ is definitely  something you'll want but if you're like me and can't use chainsaws to save your life, you can always do your favorite, lvl to a reasonable place and start pumping BP on leatherface that way.

Hag's ruin is good but you won't need it at lower ranks and with good setups it isn't as necessary as most say (the perk's totem rarely lasts more than 30s anyway). I'd say it isn't a  waste to get it but not a priority. It'll be good for you to learn how to play without it.

Nurse's "Nurse's Calling" is a way better perk imo as it combines well with others.

Other perks worth looking at: Monitr and abuse from Doctor, Brutal Strength, Clauro phobia and bamboozle from clown, tinkered. All of these are great in certain killers and  situations, so I'd say see who you like to play as and then take a look at them, to see if they can help you.

    Gl have fun :)
  • @DocOctober to be fair I didn't even read the perks, just switched crutch for strong

This doesn't really make any sense. But it's funny

    What's funny?

The idea that by having more perks you need more perk slots. The number of perk slots was never influenced by the availability of perks but by balance, which should be obvious imo

The idea was also suggested mainly because by having more perks to play with and more perks you could build way more builds. And I came with the suggestion to add a limit so you wouldn't be able to make SUPER OP builds.
    This is the killer one.

That would be the most reasonable way to do it but you'd need a separation related to what they affect, not just strong vs weak.

Regardless it would need perk changes and a category implementation which would be a nightmare to balance. Given it's already pretty hard to do it at all I'd say just leave it alone

lol spirit is just bad, period

She's not a bad killer, just difficult. She's the hardest killer in the game. So don't call something you barely played bad... Learn her and I bet she would be a really good killer. I've already seen some killer player dominate with her getting back to back 4k. Choose the right perks and add-ons and she's God like.

I'm going to need an example that doesn't include her ultra rare add ons. So far i only got 1 4k, 2 3ks, 3 3 2ks, and a Ok. Maybe I'm missing something, but the trade offs her power afford just seem too weak.
I've only had 1 2k on cowshed, rest were 3 and 4ks and have used a brown and yellow add on. Easily did over 50 games w her, could be getting to p3 by now if I wanted to prestige so.. Not to brag, just making a point. I've only got better than a 2k on Billy once but that doesn't make him bad. I just can't play him well
  • Interesting thread, good read on the pig op.

I main huntress and hag. With huntress I was playing w nurse's, bbq, bitter murmur and either whispers or sloppy for the 4th. For ruin I'd switch either bbq or bitter murmur out if you need it, keeping whispers instead of sloppy. Not much to explain for, find survivor, be efficient in finishing chase quick and hook. If I see several , even during a chase, I'll hit them w hatches without breaking og chase if possible. Use bbq and bitter to snipe and reposition.

All this before the patch ofc, now just pray and bring extra hatchets or create a build for m1 (Noed, blood warden, whispers and bitter murmur maybe? lol).

For hag I switch my build a lot, used o go ruin, devour and make your choice but now am running a build I saw some guy use and I love it: Nurse's, M&A, Sloppy and claurophobia. The real thing w hag is trap placement. Be different and think where survivors will go to escape. Be efficient. A well placed trap shuts down a whole section, be it a jungle gym or connection of several ones, a shack, etc. And please, 1 trap in front of the hook is enough.. Sometimes I won't even place it, going for the places they'll go to heal or escape instead. This comes w practice but is the cornerstone of the hag.

Understand positioning, gen progression and survivor logic and you'll be able to give nurses a run for their money. It's not uncommon to get praise from survivors after, saying they've never seen traps like that etc and we all know it's hard to have anything but a toxic rank 1 survivor after a 4k. A trap may seem random but given it's efficiency it can be deadly.

An example would be 4 meters from a bus window on wreckers that also covers an escape from a gen you're thinking of checking to a gym and from an almost genless area to the shack. With the shack and gym trapped as well all u have to do is check the gen w positioning in mind w M&A. Hit, herd, tele port, down and hook. Trap if needed, either hook or the trap that got him and go to nearest gen. You could have placed it under the window but then it only serves one route and the aftermath wouldn't be the same cause now you go away towards the opposite side, someone will trigger one of the area traps b4 they get to the hook, run to 1 of the loops, trigger another trap and fall. Another will go the rescue. If the rescuer rushes and you managed to hit the last guy on the gen it's already gg.

Specially w this build. Since everyone is close even if a save is made you'll see them and they won't heal at all. And with a hook and a down or 2 hooks they'll have to hurry or go stealth away to (Hopefully) another trapped area. It is all about strategy. Hag might be the 1 killer I feel controls the match.

The only place I'll have more traps invested in is the main building. Falls, windows, crossroads inside are all great places for traps. If you can control the map and get 4 gens somewhat close to each other it's pretty much a free 4k everytime.

Hope this was a good enough read. It's hard to explain. Happy hunting

  • It just happens sometimes. I'm not sure what triggers it but it's incredibly annoying.

Really? =/ I'll wait a few seconds, maybe someone else knows why but thanks for the answer

  • 95% of this info is just lie
the lobby problem become like 2-3 weeks before the event started
and there is a many NA streamers who can not get a lobby even when they are rank 10 so they derank to 15

Not a lie but misconception. It's clear something isn't working right. The game has more players playing than ever and has had this problem from before the event (not that the event would change the ratio this drastically anyway)
  • There's something wrong. Survivor mains will be survivor mains, they might try the spirit but they won't for long. Specially a killer that hard
  • @EqMonkVeeshan yea that's true but given I didn't play against one single spirit that whole day and there's also a new survivor... Well, I just don't think it justifies my queues going from 5m to readying to 20m to see a first survivor in my lobby.

I  agree the ratio is probably affected. It just feels like something more is going on to me given my anecdotal experience, specially when the update even brought more ppl back. That's my point
  • If you get an initial hit on the healthy survivor you can use it on them.. Haven't had problems with that. I'm using BBQ, sloppy, stridor and rancor and it's rare someone escapes. Maybe she just clicked with me but I think she's a lot better than most think.

Although her cd does need adjusting
  • @EqMonkVeeshan that could be part of it but this stated with the update, before the event.
  • I just play normally, with constant pressure and perks like sloppy they'll waste their battery removing traps before the gens are done. And some  traps will still catch them off guard
  • Yes, she was a bit overrated. I would also agree the iridescent heads are unnecessary.
