Do ppl hate scratched mirror now?
Decided to dust off my Myers and played some scratched mirror tonight. Haven't really bothered with it since the map offering change so was expecting to get rolled on any outdoor map... instead I kept getting games with ppl DCing after 1 chase and even got cussed out in Spanish. Is this the norm other ppl are seeing?

I haven't experienced it to that extent but it does seem like people don't like Scratched Mirror anymore. Maybe because now you can just make yourself 4.4? Not really sure, I used to play Scratched Mirror and bring people to Midwich, Lerry's or Hawkins and just mess with them all game, then let them all go and moonwalk at the exit gate for fun, got some great reactions. Nowadays people seem to not enjoy it as much, and I will say a lot of Scratched Mirror Myers that I've run into have hard tunneled as well, which is like, if you feel the need to do that on Scratched Mirror why are you using the addon lol
Id say not many ever enjoyed playing against scratched mirror myers. Besides the streamers that enjoy it for jump scares, to the average player its one of the most tedious and annoying playstyles especially on an indoor map. Like playing against a legion with permanent frenzy mode. Ive even seen some rounds take almost an hour to finnish if its a small enough map.
Its simpler to loop but it forces chase onto everyone at all times of the match or feeling like you cant sit on a gen while injured as they just hit and hide and come back when you arent able to make it to something fast enough.

Yep proper play especially with no communication means neither side is doing much on indoor maps. I think there is a big disconnect where killers don't realize gimmick builds can be just as obnoxious.
Its really tedious for most survivors that know how to play go against a Scratched Mirror Myers. I usually don't find it that fun even if I know how to play against that style killer but it does not even have any downside anymore as you are normal speed and lunge distance was also made normal while using it since 9.2.0. So you can run any other add-on on him than before it was usually always the lunge increase add-on so you might get some hits easier. Like I am not saying it needs downsides but in the end its not the old Scratched Mirror Myers anymore and even then it was not in my opinion the most fun killer build to face anyway.
Newer players will most likely hate it quite a lot as you just have to accept that killer sees you all the time and can come from anywhere.
Pretty sure the obvious other addon is the brown one that makes you 110% speed.
Yeah and that makes it even more annoying to deal with as now he is faster than before when before he was slower than normal. while using Scratched Mirror add-on.
I feel like I'm getting hate for similar things too. Did SM Myers and got hate.
Did basement chest defender Bubba (and didn't get any kills mind you) and got hate
Played insidious unknown and got LOTS of hate (because of lightborn, to ensure selling myself as a clone as accurate as possible)
Ran plenty of no perk/no addon trapper and got hate that funny enough stopped as soon as they saw I had nothing
Play the new killer without aura reading? You bet your sweet bippy I got hate.
Played undetectable Nurse with one blink, plenty of hate
Played all boon build on survivor, somehow got hate despite getting exponential value and did most gens? (Hate from my teammates btw.)
At this point endgame chat isn't worth having at all.
I've never enjoyed Scratched Mirror because almost every match plays out in the same tedious fashion: Myers sneaks up on you repairing a generator, gets a free hit and leaves to do the same thing to a different survivor. Then he'll return a short while later to repeat the process, and if you haven't managed to heal yourself, you go down without any real chase happening at all.
Chase is the most fun and skill-expressive part of playing survivor, so that aspect being essentially removed makes for a dull experience—and that's not even mentioning that a lot of Scratched Mirror players have a tendency to proxy-camp their first hook to force trade after trade, until either the gens are all completed or everyone is dead.
Of course, that's not say the Myers can't play however they want—they can. I'd just prefer not to be a part of it.
Could be that most of the older players abandoned the game and the majority of the playerbase now comprises noobs who aren't familiar with the meme playstyles of yore.
I tried a spot of slalom Trapper the other day and the survivors were raging.
That said, I never liked mirror Myers.
Scratched Mirror denies interactive play.
Survivors are stuck in a game loop expecting a terror radius to give them a cue that the Killer is close by. Mirror removes that interaction entirely. If they do manage to see you coming they are now in a looping situation with no red stain either.
So the add-on in effect destroys much of the classic interaction and gameplay loop of the match for Survivors and leaves them in many situations where they are left wondering, "what the hell was I even supposed to do?"
It's a meme fun for Killers and jump scares.
Some people hate anything that they can't choose or don't go how they think things should go. I've received death threats for playing Artist. Some people will always find something to complain or to swear on others.
Personally, i just laugh at this kind of situation and go for the next match. No worth my time neither my patience.
It always comes down to how you play him. Had one recently, basically just running back and forth to a hooked survivor. Legitly the most boring way to play the killer for everyone.
also, in a handful of the more recent scratched mirror myers players I have gone against have realized they can very easily hard camp a hook, which adds to the tedious nature of the addon, its one of those things that I think was made and originally used mostly for fun but as time has gone on it has been used more to be annoying.
opinions on auras has changed from when I started with the Twins. Scratched Mirror indeed was the "Wholesome Keanu Chungus 100" killer for years. Now it's boring and uninteractive
How would hit and run possibly be addressed?
I really like scratched mirror myers, but thats because I love the jumpscares I guess. its the only playstyle michael has which actually suits him lol

Personally may be hot take but I always preferred tomb stone Myers over scratched mirror when it comes to old Myers.
The difference is that now the killer player has to RP more and hold back from just taking an easy win. Newer Myers players are used to the pub stomp dash slop so they just used Scratched Mirror as a way to cheese.
4.4 scratched mirror isn't very fun to go against imo, especially on indoor maps.
Ngl I love going against scratched mirror Myers, because like the pig crouch, it's genuinely made my stomach hurt from a few scares I've gotten.
I do agree it can be kinda stalematey on indoor maps, but I wish the Myers rework had gone more in the way of ambushes and sneaking up to people(without as much aura reading of course) like how the original movie was, instead of the more sequel esque Michael Train stomping over everything.
