Survived over 15 minutes, only 61 survival points?

Maybe I'm crazy, but I swear I've never seen survival points in any of my games this low unless I died extremely early game. Below is a breakdown of how the round went. Is this intended with the new MMR update and legit, or am I right in thinking this seems really low?

  • 1.75 gens completed
  • 4 chases, injured twice but not downed
  • 1 min officially in chase total (technically longer, but I only counted when chase music was playing)
  • 3 full heals
  • 1 save

Endgame:

  • 1 opened door
  • 1 protection hit
  • 1 save
  • 1st down (at unhook)
  • Died 1st hook as 3k team escaped

The match ran a little over 15 minutes and obviously I died as the match ended because the team ran out together, so we all survived the same amount of time, I just don't get additional points for living, but only 61 for all of that?

Just looking for clarity. :)

    This was against Jason

  • Honestly surprised about that. The reason I asked is because of Exile, you never get any points for struggling while being carried or on hook. The only other things that give survival I think are recovering on the ground, self healing, and totems (which used to be boldness). If you got a score this low it's probably because you did no totems, you never self healed, and you never went down until right at the end, where you probably got those 61 points recovering on the ground before the killer either mori'd you or put you on a hook you were right under (and you wouldn't get any struggle since all your teammates left so you would instantly die).

A lot of people have complained about the 10k bp cap per category, so many people have suggested that it become a 40k overall cap and I think that just makes sense.

  • This is the joy of Survivor BP categories. You might max out on some and barely get anything in others. From what you described, you did nothing to earn Survival Points. And if you were on the Hook really quick and your team left you immediatly, so you did not get any struggle points, then this is what you end up with.

And yes, this sucks. You maxed out on Altruism and would have most likely gotten more BPs if it would not be capped at 10k BPs. They really should remove the category caps.

Points you made in both your responses definitely helped me understand better and that's what I was looking for ☺️ From what you've both said, a lot more than time being alive goes into the calculation.

Always appreciate learning something new. Thanks again ❤️

  • Count yourself lucky, I had a game yesterday where I got 307 TOTAL BP.

Omg 😅 lowest I've ever scored was something around there and it was an insta hook hacking Dredge.

Here you can see Score Events, especially the Survival Category:

The only thing strange here would be that Pallet Drops grant 200 Survival BPs. So you probably did not drop any Pallets?

Right, I thought about that after your response and realized most of my loops were around tall walls (thus chase took a while to start) and I only vaulted a couple times. Never threw pallets the whole match.

  • I wish survivor had some kind of overflow system where if you get cap'd on a certain category it fills out other categories(ideally at a 1:1 but w/e if it needs to be reduced it can be). Being a gen jockey or taking the killer on a chase or healing can be absolutely the right play but if you do "too much" you get punished by less BP and score.

Removing the category caps, but leaving the overall cap of 40k in place would already be enough. Let someone who does a lot of Gens or did a bunch of Unhooks have more than 10k BPs in that category and they wont care if they get only a few in Survival.

Were you even playing? That's actively trying not to earn points 😆

Out of curiosity, how many BP did you have before going into that trial?

  • I suggested a long time ago that ALL survivors should get survival points for being alive when a gen pops.

Yes, got hit from afar by the Judgment along with someone else. I ran away to hide and they got my aura behind a wall (Groaning Storehouse) and hit me. I was the first in Exile, went second stage, 2 more joined me and they mori'd the last person.

Because I had no chase, I got no points.

No idea but my total was 307 on the scoreboard. See previous post ^^

That would make sense to just overall be able to earn 40K but Im not keeping my hopes up with the whopping "25% bloodpoint bonus" we get playing survivor as incentive. So I don't think we are getting free bp unfortunately.

Survival points aren't awarded for the stuff you quoted. They're kinda finicky to get. Best waybis run inner strength, you get big survival points for cracking totems and self heals. Inoften max survival even if i die.

They're usually awarded for self preservation actions like struggling in killers grip and on hook, self heals, totems and some killer object interactions. They don't accrue for being alive like boldnes points do for being in tr.

Yeah, a link was shared a bit further up that broke everything down that applies to the survival category and for everything I did do, I genuinely didn't do a single thing in survival which is wild 😅

I've got all characters in the game P3 already, so I don't necessarily care about points maxing atm; I just didn't understand how for a full game the points could be so low and just wanted clarity. I will however keep this build in mind whenever new characters drop and I need some quick points 😊

this proves moves something is wrong with the blood points. I remember games getting at least 3,000 just for loading in but the killer would DC at the start. I think something is definitely messed up because I have never seen that low before. It isn’t worth playing for such little BP/reward.
